She wants the important stories but doesn't want the important stories, what an odd gal.

Also, I posted a piece of art on the previous page, it'd be swell if you could add it to the archive.

The bio is fine but I want you to get rid of combustion as a power. I think its potential is a bit OP combined with everything else and doesn't really fit as much with Napalm.

Also I want to note that there are some concerning things in the likes, weaknesses, and greatest fear section that lead me to say this. We're strictly warning you against excessively edgy and graphically violent scenes similar to the one you created during the prison break. So if you had an intention to use this character to write scenes like that, that is not going to be allowed.

Also for the record because of where we are in the story you won't be able to have her join the team until after the Warwolf arc has concluded.

With all these things considered, understood, and rectified, accepted

1. I'm sorry, Tomia but Combustion has to stay. It's one of the staple parts to her character design. I'll get rid of her powers of producing fire and might add more limits to balance it out.

2. As for the prison scene, I ran through Zark first to gain approval of my post. I wanted him to review it first to see if it was too much gore which it did. So I toned it down and let him review it again which Zark accepted the new version of the prison scene. I had an hunch that the original draft would get me banned and that's why I went to Zark to see which parts had to be cut out. But I get what you mean and won't attempt another post like that.

3. It's okay, I can wait.

Name: Noah Lane
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Appearance (pics if possible):

Image

Young Blood?: Yes
Bio:

Noah Lane was born into not-so-humble beginnings as the son of billionaire Herbert “Herb” Lane, who made his fortune building engines for domestic speedboats and foreign car companies with his company Lane Advanced Equipment, and Dr. Lisa Mondava, who was widely recognized as a genius for her contributions to aerospace engineering and to engine performance. Unfortunately, despite (or perhaps because of) the fact that his father was a divorcee and his mother was “between relationships,” neither Herb nor Lisa actually loved each other very much and the pregnancy was unwelcome news. Initially, Herb wanted his mother to end the pregnancy early, but Lisa’s religious and moral compunctions prevented her from getting an abortion. So, Noah was born into a family that, while it could care for him, didn’t particularly care about him. From an early age Noah was familiar with doing things on his own terms and not being able to really rely on anyone, especially emotionally, and developed a part-aloof part-hostile, impulsive personality that he carries with him to this day.

Noah enjoyed a well-funded if fractured childhood, bouncing between his mother and father for various reasons (many of which weren’t his). This meant a lot of time spent inside of airplanes, cars, and even the occasional boat as his Herb, now accepting of the young boy, wanted to show him the world and earn a little bit of favor. As he advanced from toddler to young child, he developed what was thought of at the time as merely a precocious understanding and intuition about vehicles. It would soon be revealed to be much more than that, however.
One day, while his mother had him in the car, she stopped in to a lab to pick up some data while leaving the keys in the car. While Dr. Mondava was inside, a six year old Noah unbuckled himself from the back seat, hopped into the driver’s seat and took off. Seeing her car disappear and fearing the worst, Lisa called the police, and a city-wide manhunt ensued that only ended hours later when Noah’s joyride had to end because he was out of gas and the small child flagged down a cop car. While Lisa was mortified and scared sick, when Herb heard the news his first reaction was amazement at the impressive driving capabilities of this child who could barely reach the gas pedal standing up.

Partly as a result of this perceived act of gross negligence, the background legal battle over Noah (waged more as a sport than out of any real concern for the boy) tilted more towards his father in the custody department. This gave Herb the opportunity to put his son to the test. At the tender age of 8, he was put behind the wheel for his first controlled drive, on an empty flat test strip out in the desert usually used for his father’s company RnD. And, he did amazingly. Too amazingly: the car was doing things it shouldn’t have been able to do. Every vehicle he was put behind, it was the same story: instant skill and capability beyond what should be possible.
Unfortunately, Herb was coming to the conclusion that his son had unique powers right around the time Noah was reaching the age where he was least inclined to listen to his neglectful dad. Having (somehow) developed his own group of friends that were usually up to no good, Noah had slid into delinquency, even as he finished the training and paperwork for all his licenses and got a smart slacker’s grades in high school. He did his driving test mere minutes after finishing first in one of many illegal street races he was and would be involved in. Finally, pressure from the local police who were tired of having to let this kid go because of his father’s influence caught up with him, and one too many arguments later the 16 year old Noah simply up and left, stealing his favorite sports car (out of many his father owned) and taking off into the night. For whatever reason, Herb simply didn’t try and chase him.

After wandering around aimlessly for a while, he began to take on work as a “special driver.” Getaways, escorts, couriering, breaking fixed races, all of this Noah did to keep himself (and his expensive tastes) afloat. He even got to get his hands on some new planes and cars and boats, making Noah’s life into a “little GTA” as he once called it. His experiences doing this stuff only reinforced his knowledge and understanding of his own powers. However, bored and starting to get a little frightened by the possibilities of diving too deep into the criminal life, Noah drove away from it all and set his sights towards a group that seemed interesting and fulfilling to join: the Young Bloods.

Powers:
  • Engine Heart: Noah has an intuitive sense about the status of any vehicle just by touching it or quickly looking over it. This includes information such as fuel or battery life, structural integrity, engine health, and whether or not anyone is piloting it. Mysteriously, non-sentient vehicles seem to like having Noah driving them, which could help explain a little bit of what’s below...
  • Drive:
Noah has access to a wide suite of powers that effect the utility and power of engine based vehicles, which include:
-Perfect Control: No matter what sort of vehicle Noah finds himself in, he will always be able to activate it and pilot it perfectly. This includes everything from lawnmowers and hang gliders to high-grade sports cars and multi-billion dollar space shuttles: if it can be driven and isn’t an animal, he can hotwire it and drive it like an expert. Better, actually, as we will see...
-Turbocharge: When Noah is piloting a vehicle, the vehicle’s engine and internal components push themselves far beyond what their limits should be. Airplanes, boats, cars, and other vehicles go significantly faster and more powerful than they’re supposed to.
-Supermaneuverability: In addition to breaking internal limits, external limits are no issue for Noah. Cars can make maneuvers that would send them spinning out of control in the hands of even a perfect regular driver, aircraft can twist and turn in ways that normally would break them apart or cause them to stall, boats seem to take their momentum in water and the crashing of waves and wake as a suggestion.
-Durability: Vehicles also seem to gain a certain amount of additional toughness when Noah is in the driver’s seat. Cars can keep going even after taking body hits and losing a wheel or two, airplane engines keep giving power and wings keep giving lift until they’re literally in pieces, boats have a hard time sinking, and life support never fails.
-Endurance: In addition to breaking maneuverability and speed limits, endurance capabilities seem not to matter to vehicles that are run by Noah. He can run engines on fumes basically for as long as they could with full fuel, and even things like Overcharge and Supermaneuverability never seem to do damage to the vehicles he does them on. Noah and any passengers he’s with seem to get a little endurance too, being able to withstand more G-forces for longer than any other human would be able to.
  • Mechanic:
In addition to being a legendary pilot, he’s skilled as a repair man, and has an intuitive sense of how to fix any vehicle he comes across, with the proper materials. And even without quite the proper materials, he can usually make “good enough” temporary fixes and MacGuyver some repairs with the tools in his backpack which, with his other Drive powers, usually keep things in working order or better. In his free time, he likes making custom vehicles and equipment, and is a valuable partner for anyone who needs a competent engineer.

Limitations (Reasons why your char can’t end the universe):
  • Indispensable Pilot (soft): Noah’s powers only work if he’s conscious and in the pilot seat. Merely having him or his body aboard isn’t enough to benefit from his powers.
  • Just Human (soft): Beyond his skills as a pilot and a mechanic, there’s not much to him once you take him away from his vehicles. He can’t shoot lightning from his hands and lasers from his eyes...
  • Material shortages: While Noah can fix things perfectly, he can’t summon materials to do so out of thin air. His vehicles need some fuel to work, and if you expect him to rescue you while you’re both stuck on a raft or in the vacuum of space with no means of propulsion, prepare to be disappointed.
  • Limit Break: Even when pushed beyond original limits, new limits are found. It’s not impossible to do enough damage to Noah’s vehicles or to put them in a bad enough environment that they break down, although it is quite difficult.

Weaknesses (Reasons why someone could kick their ass):
  • Indispensable Pilot (hard): His powers shutting down when he’s unconscious or absent from the pilot seat also means that, if he was holding the vehicle together from blowing up at the time of his removal, the vehicle will blow up as soon as he loses consciousness or steps away from the vehicle. If the vehicle you’re in has a burning fuel tank, you better plan to deal with Noah accordingly.
  • Just Human (hard):...just as he’s not bulletproof, and is a weak fleshy human just like most of the rest of them. Break through a vehicle or isolate him from one, and seriously hurting Noah is pretty easy.
  • Fatigue: Some of Noah’s Drive powers, particularly Overcharge and Durability, put noticeable physical strain on him. Long-duration missions mean either a lot of autopilot, careful pacing, or the risk of Noah passing out.
  • Adrenaline Junkie: More of a personal failing than a power one, Noah gets bored easily and loves a challenge. He can’t help but to push whatever vehicle he’s in to its limits to make very high-profile and dangerous maneuvers, and he will never EVER say no to a race. That’s just who he is.

Likes: Fast food, mechanical engineering, the smell of gasoline, rap and rock music, coffee, hot weather, sleeping, freedom, smart people, boys, girls, making people thrilled and happy, (tastefully) expensive things, movies, good drivers.
Dislikes: Seafood, “soft” sciences, the sight of blood, classical and pop music, tea, cold weather, motion or violence not on his terms, authority, idiots, cruelty, prudes, cheaping out/slumming it, TV (except for pre-2015 Top Gear), slow people.

Additional Information
Birthday: October 14
Theme song: SPEED by Atari Teenage Riot
Favorite food: Pad Thai, spicy with extra peanuts.
Greatest fear: Not getting to drive anymore.

EDIT 1: added bio, removed “Luck” from powers, changed some likes/dislikes.
EDIT 2: changed Turbocharge and Endurance, added to bio.
EDIT 3: corrected formatting.
EDIT 4: spoilered appearance pic and edit list.

Name: Mark Nemo | Cosmic
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Appearance:
Image

Young Blood?: Possible
Biography:
A few months prior, a shooting star passed a little too close for comfort over the San Diego skyline, and within it, a powerful man fleeing an equally powerful foe. Mark Nemo was resting after his first few weeks of class at Thomsen High, the young man having underestimated the demand of attending a school built for providing peaceful coexistence between humans, superhumans, and nonhumans alike, when he noticed the flashing light from his bedside window. Always interested in some action, and always happy to get time away from his foster home, he saw the flashing light crashing in a nearby park, and ran to investigate.

To his utter surprise, he found an alien in a suit, shrieking in some foreign tongue, menacingly pointing his fingers at the teenager. Mark was no expert, but he could tell the man was injured and by the looks of it, pretty severely. Still, the alien seemed a bit desperate and frantic, and quickly grabbed onto Mark, gesturing for the boy to walk elsewhere with him. Taking the humanoid to a secluded alley, Mark stared long and hard at the noseless human-esque man in a space suit, staring confused as he spoke in an entirely different language. By the looks of it, though, from the amount of purple blood spilling on the asphalt, the alien was running out of time. Just before he ran to get help, the alien reached into his own chest and produced a small sphere of brilliant white light, and motioned for Mark to take it.

Reluctant at first, Mark reached out and took hold of the sphere, the energy exploding on contact and bathing him in an equally potent bright light. For a moment, he could understand the alien he had saved, and listened carefully as the alien explained a few things. First and foremost, an enemy was approaching and battle may be imminent, but Mark could never hope to beat him. Second, Mark was now a member of the Ultra Corps, an interstellar peacekeeping force that utilized intense energy bursts to keep order in the cosmos, and had significant powers due to it. Both were incredibly shocking, and honestly, Mark had no clue what to do with this knowledge, but the alien assured him that someone will come for him shortly, but for now, to suppress his energy aura and wait for the outlaw to pass.

Mark did as he was told, and ended up leaving the scene as the alien passed away. He never got his name, but would later learn that he was Lorn Zol, a legendary warrior in the Ultra Corps, and he was battling Hasht-Zy-Lok, a renegade Ultra Force user who had turned traitor to the cause. While Mark hid, Hasht found Lorn's body, and deduced he was too late to take the Ultra Force energy for himself, and quietly left the planet. Only hours later, a small entourage of the Ultra Corps arrived and quickly found Mark based on his unique energy signature. Fearing the worst, they took him captive and interrogated him far from Earth, thinking he had killed Lorn and taken the energy for himself.

The truth was soon revealed, and the team remained a bit brokenhearted at the loss of their leader and were now faced with the responsibility of training a cadet. Reluctantly, they began their journey to avenge Lorn and bring Mark up to speed. The young man had read and looked up to heroes as a child, so the opportunity to be a hero, in space no less, was never once passed up or downplayed. He was happy to be there and enjoying the ride, missing his home yes, but being adopted by the Ultra Corps felt just as homely. He soon adopted the name Cosmic, earned from his wide-eyed expression every time the Corps passed by a particularly star-filled patch of the nightsky.

For months, Cosmic and his team roamed the interstellar neighborhood in search of Hasht-Zy-Lok and his traitors, bringing peace and order as they did so, allowing Cosmic to train and experience the realities of being a Corpsman, teaching him to fight and to analyze combat situations before they even begin. He would also develop his own unique powers with the Ultra Force, which was noted as being earlier than most. Still, he used his abilities to their fullest extent, grinding out experience in the stars like a wild west lawman. He grew to respect and admire the man who had given him this gift and this family, becoming resentful at that Hasht forced such a choice on Lorn, and he too sought revenge for an alien he had a single conversation with.

All things come to a head, and Hasht-Zy-Lok was tracked down to a densely populated world several lightyears from Earth. Letting anger get the better of him, Cosmic charged ahead to face him alone, his fellow Corpsman rushing behind him to spare the young man's life. For several minutes, Cosmic and Hasht traded blows and bellows of moral superiority, Hasht eventually unleashing the fearsome electromagnetic ability the Ultra Force bestowed upon him. The exchange nearly killed Cosmic, but the timely arrival of his Corpsmen prevented his death and created an opening. Using his ability to see fautlines and weaknesses in objects, Cosmic threaded the needle and poured his own energy into an attack centered on a hairline fracture at the center of Hasht-Zy-Lok's chest. Though the energy was minuscule compared to what Hasht could deliver at a moment's notice, the blast blew a basketball sized hole in the man's chest, killing him where he stood.

A certified hero sharing in the spoils of Hasht's energy and the experiences he had gained in the Corps, Mark was given some time off to rest and recover, opting to return to Earth and San Diego in particular, having missed an entire years' worth of school and nearly the entire summer on his interstellar adventure. Much has changed in that time, and now he has to navigate a new and unfamiliar city, teaming with heroes and villains he had never heard of, as well as events that just as shocking. Can he adapt, or will he decide space is preferable to change?

Powers:
  • [Supernatural Condition]: From his origin as a conduit for the Ultra Force, Cosmic and other hosts to the extra-dimensional energy are given incredible boosts to their natural abilities. Great strength, speed, stamina, and reaction times are just the tip of the iceberg for the powers available to a conduit, as many are equipped with regenerative abilities, mental abilities, elemental manipulations, and so many others due to the diverse nature of the Force and how it transforms a user.
  • [Stellar Energy Manipulation]: The truest, and honestly most basic, aspect of the Ultra Force is the ability to generate and manipulate it's energy as it is expelled out of the conduit. Younger and less experienced conduits do not have access to large pools of energy, whereas longer lived and more seasoned veterans of the Corps are able to bring forth incredible amounts at a moments' notice. Cosmic falls in the younger category, able to bring some decent energy into battle but nothing on the stellar scale that others are capable of doing.
  • [Shattering]: As users of Ultra Force develop their own unique powers and abilities, Cosmic developed a sixth sense-like phenomenon where he can view and see the world as fault lines, almost like a spiderweb, witnessing how events and people are connected and intertwined. He's able to view these fault lines in objects and people, and through them, find their weakpoints. With his energy generation, he's able to surge power to these weakpoints and effectively shatter even the most durable of materials, but he requires precision to do so, meaning he can only shatter by direct contact. Significant events also have their own fault lines, allowing Cosmic to view them if given enough concentration and time. Do not be mistaken, the ability still requires ample amounts of energy to preform despite it's more conservative use.

Limitations:
  • [Limited Energy]: As a recent addition to the Ultra Corps, Mark is only able to access a small amount of the extra-dimensional energy available to them. He has to earn greater access with dedication and loyalty, as well as seniority. It is possible to go past these limits, but at a staggering cost to health and mental soundness, which cannot be repaired by the energy available to the user.
  • [Bodily Limits]: Again owing to his freshness with the Ultra Force, Cosmic still has limits for how much energy his own body can hold and process. He makes the most use of his abilities by utilizing Ultra energy to amplify his destructive potential without seriously depleting his energy reserves, as a nearly drained Cosmic will become vastly weaker and sluggish compared to a fully charged one.
  • [Unbreakable]: Simply put, there are some things in life that have no weak points or points so minuscule that forcing energy through it would would be like trying to thread molecules. This would render his Shatter ability useless.
  • [Touch]: Though he has energy blasts and flying powers and such, in order to use his shatter ability to it's fullest effect, he needs to be in contact with an object he intends to break apart so that the energy can be focused and directed.

Weaknesses:
  • [Drain]: Energy can be given and it can be taken, if you have the right equipment or counter. Energy from the Ultra Force can be siphoned by outside forces, and has been previously by others who have fought Ultra Corps members and emerged victorious. It's a glaring weakness, and one that is overcame by hardwork and training to keep a lid on all available energy the user is capable of mustering - closing the tap, if you will.
  • [Conduit]: Just a conduit for the Ultra Force, Mark can be separated from the force and rendered "normal" if a powerful energy manipulator or technological device capable of such a feat is present. There is nothing tying him to the Ultra Force other than willpower.
  • [Addiction]: The powers and energy that a conduit for the Ultra Force is great and sometimes overwhelming, but once you're used to it and the rush becomes normal, you cannot physically live without it. A conduit needs a constant supply of Ultra Force or their own bodies will begin to disintegrate. This process is accelerated in users who demand more and more energy from the Corps, akin to upping their dosage and never coming down.

Good app Neros, one thing that concern's me is the shatter ability, particularly the ability to destroy objects. Could explain that a bit more to me? How does it work, is it telekinetic? How would you feel about making so it is only cognition so that he can see the weak points but not act upon it with an energy attack?

Given we recently had several departures, I've updated the archive to remove those players' material as well as add four recently accepted characters and one faction. I've also updated the birthday calendar accordingly, and added new submitted material to the gallery post.
Hello! I'm your friendly neighborhood roleplayer cat. If you need any help, send me a TG and I'll see what I can do!

Name: Ava Waldstein | Darklight
Age: 17

Race: Human

Young Blood?: Possibly
Bio:
Ava was the new girl, shy, not particularly sure why her parents uprooted themselves from the East Coast to settle in abysmally warm San Diego, but she made do as best she could. Above average in her studies yet never exceptional or able to stand-out, Ava kept to herself and was often alone, keeping only a few friends and acquaintances at arms length at any given time. Though the move was a bit stressful, it seemed to help Ava unlock a certain gift, which she discovered by accident one night under a brilliant full moon.

Waving her fingers in the air, she could conjure thin streams of hard light. She was shocked and concerned, wondering how best to hide her powers. She did not idolize heroes and heroines, she was more into books and fantasy realms where she could escape the turmoil of everyday reality. As she practiced her powers and kept them a secret, though, she began to feel a bit more in control and could create larger and more complex structures as time wore on. Even though she attended Thomsen High, she was not part of the hero clique or clubs, and mainly just went through general studies. Still, she couldn't make up her mind on what to do with her gift, and if she should tell someone.

She eventually confided her powers in one of her only friends, Adrian, and demonstrated her powers on a dim moon. Still, he was astonished and blown away by her ability, causing Ava to grow a bit bashful and embarrassed at how excited he was to see her make moonlight puppets dance. He had a secret of his own, and told her straightforward: He had just gotten incredible energy powers, and would be leaving to go to space and use them for the next few months. She felt happy to know she wasn't alone with her powers, but then grew sad that she would be alone once Adrian left. She wished him good luck, but grew cold and distant, especially once he left. His kind words stuck with her, however, and his ideas on being a hero outside of school seemed like a relatively cool idea, so she opted to give it a try.

It was far more thrilling than she could ever imagine. Stopping her first crime was something unreal, happening so fast. A normal mugging, nothing to be on the news for, but to her, it was a pivotal, life-changing moment. She wouldn't patrol nightly or even weekly, but sometimes the urge would hit, and she would don a cloth mask and some dark clothing to hide her identity, and make her night worthwhile by injecting a bit of heroism into random crime-about-to-be. She focused on petty things, nothing major, she wasn't about to go after serial killers or villains, but she learned her powers inside and out, detailing her own shortcomings and what she needed to improve upon. A perfect vigilante in the making, she started to train and take the adventure seriously, sometimes finding motivation in how strong Adrian would become out the stars.

Powers:
  • [Lunar Empowerment]: Ava is able to absorb and utilize light from the Moon, making her body much more enhanced than the normal person. Fast, strong, durable, and able to react much faster than baseline, Ava only has these powers under moonlight.
  • [Lunar Energy Manipulation]: Darklight can manipulate and shape the energy she absorbs from moonlight, mostly by creating energy constructs and firing moon blasts.

Limitations:
  • [Moon]: Darklight requires moon light for her constructs, energy blasts, and enhanced condition to work. Without it, she's mostly normal. This a major drawback that affects her entire load out, and puts her out of commission for twelve hours of sunlight. Not only that, but when it's a New Moon, she is just as ineffective as in regular daytime hours. Under a full moon, however, her powers are at their peak.

Weaknesses:
  • [Daytime]: When not under moonlight, Darklight is a normal human being, and is easily exploitable.
  • [Drain]: Energy can be drained and taken away, and Darklight is no different. The Moon is not an infinite source of energy, either, however.

Its still going, just no new applicants for YB proper. You gonna have to make an independant character to join now.

I think i already have an independent character made. My app would be in here somewhere.

EDIT: Yeah I remember that character. I'll be able to use them pretty well.
