Mareta Ioane

Mareta Ioane is a Togonistani singer. Born in a small town of Tidriana, Mareta made a name for herself amongst the local music scene after participating in the 2nd season of The Voice: Togonistan, where she finished in a respectable 4th place. After the show, Mareta got an offer from Mr. Tahafa Talagi, CEO of Togonistan's biggest record label Amarillo Music. Mareta's career took off from there, making her a well-known artist in the nation. She represented Togonistan in the 66th WorldVision Song Contest in Telm City, Britonisea where she finished on the 17th place out of 32 nations.

Mareta is back representing her home nation, this time in the 45th edition of World Hit Festival. Her song, titled ''Take Me To Paradise'' is based on her own feelings and experiences. ''My song is all about how, after having travelled and seen the big wide world, eventually you will want to return to your home, the place where you were born,'' Mareta said during an interview to WHF Network.

Performance:

Mareta is standing in the middle of the stage. She is hiding in a shadow with her head lowered to the side, only her silhouette can be seen. Stage lighting and graphics are dark blue. As the music starts playing, background screens display a white halo fading in and out a few times. After that, Mareta raises her head and the stage lights up, revealing her wearing a dark blue dress. As the camera closes up on her, she looks into it and starts singing.

I used to travel through the distant lands
Seeing all the new faces
Then I saw everything that's new
Now I realize how the time has flew

Mareta starts walking forward, with the background starting to mix in some golden colors to it's dark blue graphics. From the side, a young male approaches, playing an ukulele. He is wearing simple brown cargo shorts, a blue shirt and a grey trilby hat. The man smiles as the camera focuses on him for a moment, before turning back to Mareta.

Walking down these roads on my own two feet
There's so many people I got to meet
Even though it all was nice and great
Now I feel the need to leave this place

The stage lighting and graphics suddenly turn into a bright mix of golden colors. Mareta has made her way to a small platform places at the edge of the stage. She is standing on it, leaning herself from side to in an elegant way while doing hand gestures along with her hair waving due to wind machines doing their job. Camera takes a far away look at the whole stage for a moment, before zooming in and focusing on Mareta again.

Take me home to the paradise
Across the sea from where the sun will rise, mhm
The little island I call home
Cause there is only one place where I am from

Graphics turn back into dark blue with some golden whirls added to them. Mareta starts walking around on the stage, with the camera following her. Wind machines are still working, as her hair are waving while she walks and sings.

There's days when I feel the need to run
Run back to days where everything was simple fun
Here I saw everything that's new
Now I realize how the time has flew, mhm

The stage lighting and graphics turn into a bright mix of golden colors again, as Mareta has made her way to the middle of the stage. She is quietly stomping her left foot to the rhythm of the music while doing hand gestures with her knees bent a little. Camera quietly zooms out on her, slowly revealing the background graphics behind her.

Take me home to the paradise
Across the sea from where the sun will rise, mhm
The little island I call home
Cause there is only one place where I am from

Mareta raises her left arm up and waves it above her head.

Oo-oooo-ooh, ooo-oo-oooh, ooo-ooo-ooh, ooo-ooo-oooh

Mareta lowers herself down on her knees, with the stage graphics and lightings turning into a humble, dark blue state again. A single spotlight focuses on her as she is kneeling on the stage, looking at the camera that takes a close-up shot of her.

Take me home to the paradise
Across the sea from where the sun will rise
The little island I call home
Cause there is only one place where I am from

Mareta quickly stands up again, lighting lits up the whole stage again. Background screens display a large picture of a beautiful sunrise across the ocean. Mareta is doing more hand gestures, with wind machines waving her hair and dress at full speed. She sings the last part of her song with a smile on her face, as the camera pans out a large view at the stage. At the end of the last chorus, camera shows a close-up shot of Mareta.

Take me home to the paradise
Across the sea from where the sun will rise, mhm
The little island I call home
Cause there is only one place
There is only one place
There is only one place where I am from

Crowd in the arena starts cheering, with Mareta sending out some blow kisses into the audience and waving. ''Thank you Vodiznad, thank you everyone! I love you!'' Mareta shouts out before leaving the stage.

Tune: Monty Python- The Lumberjack Song

13. Vartugia
"This Is A Poorly Written Song" - Artist who refuse to use his name

Language(s): Take a wild guess
Lyrics: No.
Music: No.
Tune: Monty Python- The Lumberjack Song

"I dont want to be a communist anyway. My biggest dream is rebranding the shameful image of my homeland that my home is a batshit crazy county that their entries are so bad, one even got a laugh track. With our Gloruis Leader, we`re gonna rekt you all N00bz!"- Singer who got drunk before the press conference.

"He" is a singer whose name are unknown but he is to make a statement that his country is not batshit.

He enters the stage with a backdrop of a nice forest. From the left comes a giant lion with a big pen...

He sings, but in a "english are not my native tongue so forgive me for the butchering" manner.

Im a motherfucking Vartugian
And i will make a song
We are great
And not communist

Out of nowhere, a choir where all are dressed in the "Teh Ruling Party Of Vartugia For A Glourois Future And A Polictcaly Correct Socitly" party uniform

He`s a motherfucking Vartugian
And he will make a song
We are great
And not communist

We cut no he again with an old man in a wig made from Antabrathistan.

I like to work. I like to sleep
I like to take a shit
Every sundays we praise our Leader
And i gets fully rekted

The choir again. One of them farted

We like to work. We like to sleep
We like to take a shit
Every sundays we praise our Leader
And i gets fully rekted

He`s a motherfucking Vartugian
And he will make a song
We are great
And not communist

IDK what i shall write here. I guess nobody will notice this space that is blank :eyes:

I am vartugian, not darkmanian
That is a diffrenence
I then act like a Commie
and thanks to our gloirous leader.

The party choir sings.

He is vartugian, not darkmanian
That is a difference
Then he acts like a Commie
and thanks to our gloirous leader?!?

He`s a motherfucking Vartugian
And he will make a song
We are great
And not communist

The singer sings (thank you 1st grade english). The old man i a wig cries and quicly fills the arena with his own tears. But alsest he did it for the izemduans instead.

I work and work. I work and work
With communistic brain
I wish i was a commie
Just like my dear party

The chior sings, but they ragequit halfway.

I work and work. I work and work
With communistic brain

*(The chior booes him and walks off in angery*)

Its only him, and the old man in the wig. The backdrops randomly falls. Dont ask, we dont want efford into writing these k?

Just like my dear party

The old man slaps him

"*Glitch*, you failed youre misssuion!" *(Walks away in sadness)*

The song ends, but a random letter appears on screen to fill some time.
To Fabio McAlpine

There sir. I wound like to send a complaint that many of the nations are brainwashing the inage with the lie that Vartgia
are rulled by a one-party who`se ideolgy are known as "a fucking mess". I am a member of said party and i know
that only 90% of all Varutigan are members of that said party.

Yours truly, Teh GloruS Leader Of eh Ruling Party Of Vartugia For A Glourois Future And A Polictcaly Correct Socitly, toaG the Goat

PS: You was expended a punchline

A poorly added credit roll is overlaid over a destroyed version of the WHF trophy with some badly written text.

"With this "song", Vartugia was to make a statement over that their entries are high quality"

"They came last place with 0 points (hopefully)"

"Ivan Sandic stole my car and are selling it to pay for RTI`s massive debt thanks to the mass-hosting of WHFS"

"Be My Girl" - Crew89

Lyrics: Shawn Grey, Timoteo Lapua

Crew89 (From left to fright: Artie Tavatoa, Timoteo Lapua, Shawn Grey, Marius Teneti, Carl Hunana

Crew89 is a Togonistani YouTube group with around 10 million followers worldwide. The group is, among other things, famous for their satirical comedy songs that they produce for their channel on a monthly basis. CBC (Cleacan Broadcasting Corporation) made the group an offer to represent the Cleacan territory in the 45th World Hit Festival, which they happily agreed on. For the festival, they are performing a song titled ''Be My Girl.'' The song is supposed to be a ''satirical description of an average f*ckboy's lifestyle'' as described by Shawn Grey, head of the group.

Performance:

The band is standing on the stage, playing their instruments and singing their song. They are wearing jeans, sneakers and either t-shirts or hoodies with Crew89 logo on them. The whole background has a comic book-style cartoonish design, with the screens displaying various frames throughout the performance, illustrating the whole story as the song progresses.

Heybabybemygirl!

I just went to visit the new club that night
With high high hopes that a catch might bite
As soon as I stepped in, I saw this blonde hot chick
With a sweet little bottom and huge soft tits
Now before I even realised it myself
I had slid myself to sit right next to her
The whole temperature had risen real real high
I said "Hey there beautiful" with a nice flirty smile

Hey hey be my girl
Hey hey be my girl
Hey baby be my girl

Hey hey be my girl
Hey hey be my girl
Hey baby be my girl

The chat was short and we hit the dancefloor
As the hours passed by we found ourselves behind my door
I dragged her in with my lips on her mouth
And very next moment we had landed on my couch
The clothes went off and we started making out
Felt her mild soft skin everywhere I touched
As we both carried on, neither of us had no doubt
That night we were drunk and we had to go all out

Hey hey be my girl
Hey hey be my girl
Hey baby be my girl

Hey hey be my girl
Hey hey be my girl
Hey baby be my girl

That blonde hot chick was truly a diamond
Little devil in the bed, a true thing to admire
But after that she wanted to go out every night
And I realised this thing cannot be right

Baby meet me at the club
Baby meet me at my crib
Baby meet me at the park
Baby meet me when it's dark

Baby meet me at the club
[Let's hit the dancefloor]
Baby meet me at my crib
[A little movie and chill]
Baby meet me at the park
[Wanna go for a walk]
Baby meet me when it's dark

Eventually I couldn't take it no more
Unfriended all accounts and blocked her number
For hours and hours she tried to call me back
But no matter what she tried I would not pick up
Instead I went on to visit the club that night
With high high hopes that a catch might bite
As soon as I stepped in, I saw this lovely hot girl
With a sweet little bottom and long dark hair

Hey hey be my girl
Hey hey be my girl
Hey baby be my girl

Hey hey be my girl
Hey hey be my girl
Hey baby be my girl

Hey hey be my girl
[Hey baby be my girl]
Hey hey be my girl
[Hey baby be my girl]
Hey hey be my girl
[Hey baby be my girl]
Hey baby be my girl

The song ends, audience applauds. ''Thanks guys, have fun,'' Shawn says and waves at the audience.

Tune: James Arthur - Back From The Edge

15. Teesdexxia
"Knife's Edge" - Joseph Alexandesso

Language(s): English
Lyrics: Joseph Alexandesso
Music: Joseph Alexandesso
Tune: James Arthur - Back From The Edge

The song starts with a shot of the opening notes being played on an offstage piano, before fading to a black and white shot of Joseph stood on the darkened stage, with a sole spotlight shining down on him.

Away from the ledge,
Away from the dread,
Away from the piercing knife’s edge.
Away from the cold,
Away from the gold,
Away from the people tying the blindfold.
Oh, the tying the blindfold, yeah.

As the industrial instrumental kicked in, the black and white slowly turned into a murky sepia tone, before gradually turning to colour. Similarly, various other spotlight came into the fray, all flashing with the music. For the verse, the shots changed from a somewhat shaky camera close to Joseph, to a slowly panning one zoomed out above the crowd.

I can do my dirt,
I can do my time,
I can wait in hell without even doing a crime,
I can do the start,
I can do the end,
I can apologize, didn’t mean to offend.
Take away my light,
Force away my sight,
Numb my limbs and I won’t even put up a fight.

Cause’ I don’t want your pity, I’ve got enough myself,
And I got a story and it’s very heartfelt.

For the first half of the chorus, it shows a body shot of Joseph passionately singing, the second half (the repeat) the camera swiftly zooms out at the end of each line, along a flash of sepia on the black backing screens.

Away from the ledge,
Away from the dread,
Away from the piercing knife’s edge.
Away from the cold,
Away from the gold,
Away from the people tying the blindfold.
Oh, Away from the ledge,
Away from the dread,
Away from my fruitless dredge.
Away from the cold,
Away from the gold,
Away from the people tying the blindfold.

For the second verse, Joseph take his mic from the stand and slowly walks from the centre to the front of the stage while singing.

People like my smile,
People like my word,
But the genuine heart become a bit blurred.
I’ll climb up to the top,
Just so I can jump to the ground.
Go out with a whimper,
Without making a sound.
Misstep here and there,
But you never forget.
How long will I last?
D’ya wanna take a bet?

So stop giving me pity, I’ve got enough myself,
And I got a story and it’s very heartfelt.

For the next chorus, the staging is similar to the first, except slightly more intense.

Away from the ledge,
Away from the dread,
Away from the piercing knife’s edge.
Away from the cold,
Away from the gold,
Away from the people tying the blindfold.
Oh, Away from the ledge,
Away from the dread,
Away from my fruitless dredge.
Away from the cold,
Away from the gold,
Away from the people tying the blindfold.
Tying the blindfold.

For the bridge, it starts zoomed in on Joseph's face, it then gradually zooms out, with a myriad of flashing lights in time with the drums when the kick in.

Take away my light,
Force away my sight,
Numb my limbs and I won’t even put up a fight.
Cause’ I don’t want your pity, I’ve got enough myself,
And I got a story and it’s very heartfelt.

For the final chorus the staging is the same as before, with the intensity of the second, expect this time spotlight cut across the stage creating multiple X shapes. For the final notes there is spark pyrotechnics around the border's of the stage.

Away from the ledge,
Away from the dread,
Away from the piercing knife’s edge.
Away from the cold,
Away from the gold,
Away from the people tying the blindfold.
Oh, Away from the ledge,
Away from the dread,
Away from my fruitless dredge.
Away from the cold,
Away from the gold,
Away from the people tying the blindfold.
Tying the blindfold.

At the end of the song all lights slowly fade to black leaving Joseph in darkness. When the lights come back on Joseph waves and thanks the audience.

Tune: Middle Kids - All the Small Things

16. Anollasia
"Not What It Seems" - Eda Buldan

Language(s): English
Lyrics: Eda Buldan
Music: Eda Buldan, Lara Demirci, Terrence Bough, Stephan Mutlu
Tune: Middle Kids - All the Small Things

Eda Buldan is at the front of the stage with some musicians in the back (a woman on keyboards, a man on electric guitar, and a man on percussion). Eda is sitting on a stool, playing acoustic guitar. The spotlight is focused on her, while the others in the back are lit with dim, purple lights. The rest of the stage is dark, but there are a few lit candles surrounding the stage. The illuminated part of the stage also reveals a cozy Turkish rug on the stage floor, below Eda's feet. Eda plays a few bars of gentle acoustic guitar and then starts singing gently into her microphone on the microphone stand. The cameras show a close-up of her as she sings.

Not what it seems
Good people
Bad deeds
I'll trace
The truth
But you're right to be pissed

She continues singing, while the musicians in the back sit still, waiting to enter. Eda closes her eyes as she's singing.

Lonely?
I know
Makes it hard to leave shore
A hatchling waiting
For love and caring

Percussion enters in the form of a bass drum. The woman at the keyboards starts singing backing vocals. The both of them create a beautiful harmony, with Eda's voice dominating but the keyboardist's voice heard gently in the background.

Angry bus driver told you to go
He was just tired
He was just cold
Lady who cursed, still forgot her pills
It's not your own fault

A gentle electric guitar comes in for only the next section and the cameras focus on the backing musicians.

Na na na na na na na na na na x3
Na na na na na na

The guitarist stops playing electric guitar, the backing vocalist stops singing, and the percussionist stops playing. It's back to just Eda and her acoustic guitar, with the cameras back on her.

Inside, your soul broke
It's tough
Let it flow
Made your way past judgmental stares
Got pierced by them like spears

The backing vocals come back gently and so does the bass drum. The keyboardist also starts playing softly in the background, together with the electric guitar.

Man who made you lose all of your warmth
Girl who made you resent your own self
They didn't know still
That you'd feel a chill
It's not your own fault
It's not your own

Eda closes her eyes and sings.

Na na na na na na na na na na x3
Na na na na na na

Eda keeps her eyes closed and keeps playing the chords, but the keyboards stop playing to make way for a "postmodern" guitar solo. The guitarist plays harmonics and uses a delay, creating a haunting sound. In addition to the bass drum, the percussionist also plays some shakers. The LED screen in the background finally turns on, revealing a green Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) swirling in the night sky. The Northern Lights also appear on the LED floor. The camera focuses on the guitarist while still showing the imagery in the background. When the musical interlude is over, the aurora subsides to reveal the night sky filled with beautiful stars and galaxies. The sound of the instruments in the background gradually dissipate into the darkness as it's back to Eda and her acoustic guitar. The camera chooses an interesting shot where it's filming one of the candles and Eda can be seen in the background. This results in the camera focusing from the candlelight (Eda is blurry) to Eda (the candle flames are blurry).

They did not know
That you would feel so
Take a look at
Good things they've done
They're human still, it's part of the deal
It's not your own fault
It's not your own

The instruments in the background completely stop; now it's Eda and her bare voice accompanied by that gentle acoustic guitar and the cameras come back to a straightforward shot of her from the front.

Na na na na na na na na na na x3
Na na na na na na

The audience applauds and cheers. Eda and the musicians smile. Eda gets up and says "Thank you!" into the microphone. That was it, all of the entries from the 45th World Hit Festival have been performed.

Fittingly enough, it would be the previous hosts of the World Hit Festival that would close the current iteration. The crowd cheered wildly for Anollasia, loving Eda's song in every single second of it. As soon as Eda exited the stage, the camera panned back to the audience to allow some breathing room for the production to quickly set up for the next part of the show. Producers in their little corner of La Cianta Arena were looking at each other with excited glances. It was time for the voting to begin. The podium had come on once the all-clear was given and before long, the camera panned back to a very excited Toni Tomic who was all but ready to inaugurate the process.

Toni: What a fantastic entry from Anollasia! Thanks Eda!

As customary, there was even more cheering here for both the end of the show and the Anollasian act. Toni glanced at the cue card he was holding. The production in his ears wanted no delay, so he held up one hand and had quite the pointed face to get the crowd to calm down just a bit. Whatever face he did, it worked.

Toni: Alright world. We've just seen 16 nations perform for their country and my oh my, was it a wonderful show! It's still a bit small, but we're one up from last edition. If we can get a semi-final going on, it'd be fabulous, wouldn't it be?

Toni: Anyway! It's now time for the voting process to begin!

As customary, the camera would pan back to a wide view of the stage as lights would begin to simmer down on the stage. The La Cianta would flash in bright colors before darkening, and would resume a normal configuration when the dramatic sound effect was finished coursing through the arena. The camera would return back to a view of Toni.

Toni: Before we even get to the part where we all reach for your phones, computers, or anything, hold the phone! Let me, or your commentator, describe how the voting process.

From here, it was up to the broadcasting channel's discretion as to how they would instruct their viewers to vote. There were options for the commentator to speak over Toni and give off their own specialized voting instructions on the screen. There were also some commentators that were translating Toni's voting instructions into their own home language. For Toni, he would repeat these voting instructions twice. Once in English, and once more in Izmeduan. With this part now finished, Toni took a step back and basically grabbed the podium with bot hands.

Toni: World... are you ready?...

WORLD! START! VOTING! NOW!!!

Streamers were released from the stage as an imposing 20:00 appeared on the screens behind Toni. The audience was in haywire as the time to determine the result of the 45th World Hit Festival was now truly upon them. The clock would tick down second by second before it would fade from the screens, transitoning into a graphics background at the bottom left of the screen that would slowly become transparent. It was in the initial seconds of euphoria that the producers started to see the initial votes trickle in. The Izmeduan team would smile. Even if it hadn't been that long since WHF's appearance in Polumisec, this was another part of the festival they definitely missed. It was early days yet, but this was for sure going to be an exciting time to come.

Toni: Alright! We got 20 minutes on the clock and time to kill before we find out who's going to win! So! How are we going to pass the time?

Toni would turn around, the podium behind him being lowered as the camera followed his every movement. The Izmeduan contingent within the crowd would cheer, as the local audience did have advance knowledge of who would be performing for the interval act.

Toni: Well, we have two interval acts for you tonight. No, they won't be thematically connected, but they did jostle to represent Izmedu in a particular World Hit Festival. They'll be performing back to back. A representation of both our past and our present, if we had to make a thesis out of it. I think you'll be very happy to see who'll be up first, they performed not too long ago. So... here we go...

The stage would darken as Toni quickly scurried off backstage...

Image
Letenje - Fate
Tune: Illenium ft. Kameron Alexander - Pray

Before the first Interval Act properly commenced, a short video presentation was played (both to help the interval act prepare himself and get the equipment set up and to preface the whole performance). With no music and no context, a man staring off into the abyss was shown to the viewers at home and a screen in the arena. The man was staring into an abyss, standing on a cliff with no end or landmark in sight. What he was looking at was nothing but blankness. The man was then revealed to be holding a rock, nearly crushing it and proceeding to throw it off the cliff. No sound would be played at such an action, with the camera cutting off to a close view of the man's face. He looked into the camera with a dual look of both emptiness and desperation, a glint of madness in his eyes as the camera maintained an uncomfortably static view. A soft pluck of guitars, a tell-tale sign that it was a Letenje song, would the begin to play as the view faded back to a cinematic view of the stage in the La Cianta Arena. This was of course timed to a strong crowd cheer.

A DJ table bearing Letenje's symbol and trademark was now on the stage. That same man that was seen staring right at the edge of the stage. He would be the vocal force driving Letenje's song for the interval act. Izmeduans would recognize him, being the occasional performer that would lend his voice to Izmeduan EDM producers. His name was Dario Kozul. The camera would position itself to Dario's face in a similar way to the video presentation from earlier. He stared into the camera with that exact haunted look, doing so for most of the introductory instrumental. He would then begin to sing...

I stand at world's end, embracing death
I stare at judgment, awaiting the end
No prophecy, no sign of life
In the endless darkness here
No prayer, no prayer

The arena was coated in an omninous hue of red as Dario sang the first verse. His voice was hushed and sounded almost deliberately exhausted, singing physically and vocally huddled. The camera lingered on him as he sang, catching those minute expressions of madness in his eyes as he would occasionally step and stumble back. The instrumentation remained bare throughout this verse, with Dario's vocals intensifying to a slightly more soulfoul bent as the verse progressed. As his vocals grew in incremental power, those listening closely could also hear the instrumentaiton building up slightly as well. The lights would flash a bright red at the advent of the pre-chorus, the camera engaging briefly in a wide view.

Fall down fall down fall down
I bear my sin with due regret
Hear me hear me hear me

This pre-chorus was brief, but the wider camera views and slightly more frenetic views would serve as a preview for what was to come. The instrumentation would build further as Letenje can be seen behind the DJ table, wearing a black sweather that almost looked like a hooded cloak from certain camera angles. The lights and production would intensify just a bit before calming in time for the chorus, going into a bright red and white before flashing back to that dark ominous red...

This is fate
One built by my own creation
Tattered destinies
This is fate
Determined of my own volition
Tattered destinies

The start of the chorus was abrupt, with Dario singing the first two words almost suddenly before the instrumentation took a turned when he belted out the word 'fate.' The camera took a wide view of the stage, the lights flashing a brilliant white in time to the music suddenly softening yet still maintaining that rumbling intensity. Dario's vocals were at first vulnerable, resonating with the strength of his belts yet underscoring the growing insanity in his eyes. At the second iteration fo the chorus, the camera would return to close views of him and a cloaked Letenje, seeing as the instrumentation began to be developed just a bit more. The urgency would progress throughout this chorus, the camera hanging back as the hue began to develop in reds and deep oranges.

Oh, this is my tattered fate
Oh, this is my tattered fate
Oh, this is my tattered fate
Oh, this is my tattered fate

This was the last set of lyrics before the drop... Dario would stand stock still and place the microphone to his mouth with bot hands, singing the lyrics with an increased desperation as he utilized his falsetto. His eyes were closed and creased as he sang these lines, visibly straining at each iteration. Suitably, the instrumentation would further increase in intensity, building up to a drop that Letenje fans in the audience were intensely anticipating. Dario, by the fourth iteration, was on his knees as he was set against a maelstrom of stage and graphic effects that coalesced into a micro-second darkness.

The drop was an overwhelming mass of sounds, a loud bass overcoming the La Cianta as the graphics coalseced into an abstract force that almost seemed to be controlled by Letenje's every movement. The camera focused on his work as the graphics almost looked like a sweltering inferno, befitting the almost post-apocalyptic production that Letenje bought to the proceedings. The atmosphere was dramatic, Letenje's every movements swiftly working the DJ table, and the atmosphere was pounding, tense, and cathartic all at once. Wind gusts blew around the main stage, with even some at the front rows feeling the dramatic effects, as blurred camera shots of both Letenje and Dario being consumed by the fire would occasionally blur into the camera views. At the end of the dramatic drop, the stage would darken once more into the abyss that it was earlier, with Dario's hands locked in desperate prayer as he looked up into the camera.

Fall down fall down fall down
Hear me hear me hear me
Fall down fall down fall down
Hear me hear me hear me
Fall down fall down fall down
Hear me hear me hear me
Fall down fall down fall down
Hear me hear me hear me
Hear me hear me...
Hear me hear me...

For this sustained middle part, the first part would involve Dario repeating this words with that same madness in his eyes. Long gone was the belied madness that was coated only by a blank expression. Instead, his face was strained even further, his eyes and expression truly revealing that unhinged look as he kept repeating these lines like a mantra. Each line was an attempt at a reassurance as his eyes would glance up to the camera up to the bottom. As the instrumentation kept progressing as Letenje turned the song towards a darker production, the camera would shift upwards. Dario seemed like he was falling into his own abyss, the screen floor absolutely dark as it looked like Dario was one singular figure in a void. This image then corresponded with the softening of the instrumentation, with Dario only muttering the lines silently. He would stand up as the camera circled around him, in the lead up to the chorus.

This is fate
One built by my own creation
Tattered destinies
This is fate
Determined of my own volition
Tattered destinies

He would sing the chorus one last time, the lights returning back to that ominous hue. He sang like a man who had suffered madness, left with an uncertain fate. He would reach for the camera, his hands trembling only slightly and his face being emphasized as the main focal point of the camera view. Dario's face would then fade into a shot of Letenje's, who had revealed to have uncloaked himself. He would be mouthing along to the lyrics for the rest of the verse, looking as if he'd inherited Dario's voice. His face was a contrast, looking calm and cool, as if he were the arbiter of Dario's final judgment. The camera would fade to a wide view once this part ended, Letenje returning back to work on the production as he would further ramp up the instrumentation.

Oh, this is my tattered fate
Oh, this is my tattered fate
Oh, this is my tattered fate
Oh, this is my tattered fate

Dario had stepped back at the coda of the song. He was now at the center of the stage, the camera making wide yet frenetic views every time Dario would repeat these lines. He had crossed the edge of madness as he fell to his knees once more, embracing his lost fate and his eyes closed. The stage graphics would 'consume' him in a sense, the abstract patterns of fire and destruction swirling around his body via the stage floor. As soon as the vocal portion of this coda ended, Dario reached towards the camera as the lights shrouded his collapse on the floor, with the drop quickly imminent...

There was one more drop, with Letenje quickly driving the song home as the camera maintained a wide view. The stage was engulfed in virtual fire, a pyrotechics created by the hologram technology that RTI installed. The drop swelled and was as dramatic as earlier, the lights pulsing with each crackle and twisting of the electronic production. The oranges and reds dominated the La Cianta Arena, as Letenje passionately gave it his all to maintain and even surpass the first drop from earlier. By the end of the drop and as the sounds calmed, the lights gradually darkened to only a brief spotlight on Letenje. The camera would zoom in on his stone-faced expression as the instrumentation played out its last note. Before long, the first interval act of the night was complete...

There was a bevy of cheering for both Letenje and Dario, which would linger for a minute to allow some time for the production to help stow away the specialized DJ equipment that the former would bring for this specific performance. As both said their thanks, there was a somewhat awkward but hopefully smooth transition to the second interval act that needed to be addressed. This would be done so via a short video clip that would begin to play over the broadcast... One that was heralded by a rather large crowd cheer.

It was a brief video clip in black and white, in time to this tune. The video clip played almost as an echo, a 'surprise' to the Izmeduans in the audience and some audible confusion. What was going on? Why wasn't Toni here to explain what was going on? Either way, the same clip continued almost as an echo... The woman that was singing in this black and white clip, signing in a stage built from a bygone era, and wearing quite the classy dress, looked very familiar. A brief and dramatic text overlay would reveal her to be Dorotea Viskovic, the very woman that spearheaded the effort behind the winning entry of the 44th World Hit Festival. She was singing an old Izmeduan classic, doing so while swooning and using some trademark vocal tics that indicated that it was indeed her, a much, much younger version of her.

This would then fade into a shot of Dorotea sitting an undescript room, looking like she was about to be interviewed. There was a shadow of a woman where the 'interviewer' would be, asking her a question of what it means to feel to be at this stage of her life, and what it meant to be one of the, if not the, oldest living Izmeduan musician still active in the business.

"I'll tell you the truth, it's both a hoot and it's horrifying. It's easy to feel into the trap of my own nostalgia, because I know that a lot of that nostalgia... It's all for show, I'm not sure what's real and I'm not sure what isn't. But... I did something. And that's what matters, yes? That I can leave behind something tangible. I'll do one more old song and dance... This is my life and this is what I to be remembered by."

Interval Act II
Dorotea Viskovic - Ova ljubaur
Translation: This Love
Tune: Ornella Vanoni ft. Pooh - Eternita

This was a re-intepretation of an old Izmeduan classic, one that pre-dated the formation of the modern democratic republic of Izmedu. The stage was dark as the sounds of Dorotea's voice echoed for a few haunting seconds before clamping down to a distinct silence. The arena would slowly then glow with white lights as a silhouette outline would appear on the screens, much to the loud cheering of the crowd. An 'old recording' of the song would begin to play as the silhouette began to develop on the screen into a drawing before fading away, paving way for the modern re-arrangement of the song. From swooning orchestras gave way to a dual pop/rock and orchestral rendition of the classic.

Dorotea would walk out slowly onto the main stage, waving to the crowd with the trademark smile of hers. She would stand in the center as the music would soften, the lights gently coalescing into purples and whites, as befitting the romantic and swooning mood of the song. The camera would focus on her as the song almost quieted down to a silence, the very sign that it was time for her to sing. She looked at the audience with a fondness and adoration, almost bypassing the camera with an off-center look. She would begin to sing...

I opet
Ležim budan mislim na tebe
Ne mogu se-askonditi
Tih osjećaja ili iskušenja

She sang the song with an ease of confidence, getting lost in her world and letting her vocals soar slightly. The effects on the screens surrounding her were deliberately basic and almost bare, the camera's attention all on her. She looked at the camera with that fond smile of hers, growing as she sang line by line and letting her vocals become a little bit more louder. The instrumentation would remain bare and soft. Behind Dorotea would be her old partner in the previous World Hit Festival, Nenad Niksic, who would be singing the song alongside her (having also played a hand in helping re-arrange the song).

Mui bissim me, oh no no no
Samo fantazije
Sve što želim je ništa više
Od vas, kuor maje; maj kre

At the advent of the pre-chorus, Nenad would be right beside Dorotea as both would embrace each other with half-hugs. Despite the positioning, Nenad would deliver this half-chorus passionately, being much more open, happier, and more expressive than his more cloistered and closed off version of himself that he played for the 44th World Hit Festival. He was careful not to move too much, not wanting to lose balance on the stage and to cause both of them to fall down. His eyes were closed at opportune moments, the camera focusing both primarily on him and Dorotea (and in the process, eschewing any semblance of wide arena shots). When the pre-chorus ended, Dorotea and Nenad would separate but remain close with each other, to allow Dorotea some room to deliver the chorus.

Ova ljubaur
Maj rasaun postojanja
Ova sreća
To je ono što sentirem fuažno
Ne puštajte
Govorim i podsjećam se
Ova strasta
Ovo je zašto vei sam ljubauri

White lights would intensify on Dorotea at the advent of the chorus as she belted out this chorus with as much power she could muster, without going into the realms of overt straining. While some parts were difficult, especially as she was mostly belting most of the lines, it was very clear from her expression that she seemed to be having the time of her life singing this old classic in a new way. She moved around the front parts of the stage and was almost singing directly to some of the audience members. While she couldn't afford to do any sort of vocal gymnastics, she ended the song with a powerful belt that caused the Izmeduan contingent of the audience to cheer heavily. Nenad, right beside her, would be nodding towards her with an utmost adoration. The music would refrain the introductory melody associated with the song, the lights intensifying and softening in time with the music.

I jamo
Ne zauk mogu mislim na tebe
Ne mogu se-askonditi
Tih osjećaja ili iskušenja

The camera would focus on Nenad for the second verse, the instrumentation similarly softening as the background around him would blur. He sang the verse alone, the camera circling around him slowly as he had a reverence in his eyes and voice. He would start soft at verse, his eyes closed at the first two lines, but then becoming far more passionate at the latter two. As he locked eyes with the camera at the end of the verse, he would reach out his hands and belt out the lyrics, stepping back as the camera would fade to a view of Dorotea.

Mui bissim me, oh no no no
Samo fantazije
Sve što želim je ništa više
Od vas, kuor maje; maj kre

Dorotea would embrace Nenad in a half-hug, singing the pre-chorus as she held him rather close to her. Her vocals remained as resonant as ever for this pre-chorus, with both of them swaying about carefully as the camera would fade between static shots of them. There would one line where the camera would focus on a frontal view, and another where Dorotea and Nenad would be swaying from a shot from behind. In that shot, done at the very end of the pre-chorus, Dorotea and Nenad would be cast in shadow, singing against a bright spotlight shining against their forms. Dorotea carefully belted out 'maj kre,' paving the way for Nenad to bring it home for the chorus.

Ova ljubaur
Maj rasaun postojanja
Ova sreća
To je ono što sentirem fuažno
Ne puštajte
Govorim i podsjećam se
Ova strasta
Ovo je zašto vei sam ljubauri

Nenad gave it all as the chorus hit. He was able to afford a touch more vocal resonance as he hadn't the physical limitations that Dorotea had, but he kept it similar to her delivery. There was a suaveness to his tone and looks, a slight contrast to the almost unbridled and pure happiness that Dorotea exuded from her body language and her voice from earlier. He smoldered his eyes to the camera as he sang through the chorus with as much power, force, and yet smoothness as possible. Once the chorus ended, Dorotea and Nenad would then separate and hold hands, looking at each other with fond looks as a brief guitar solo would play. The camera would fade to a view of a guitarist at the back of the stage, playing the guitar solo live. The guitar solo was brief, the guitarist giving it their all before turning back to a view of Dorotea and Nenad.

Ova ljubaur
Maj rasaun postojanja
Ova sreća
Ovo je zašto vei sam ljubauri

For this last, and truncated chorus, Dorotea and Nenad would trade and alternate lines. Dorotea would sing the first line, Nenad the second, and then both would sing the song out together. They joined together, hand in hand, in passionately singing out that last line. It was at that moment where the camera would finally engage in its first wide length-shot, an overhead view that would widen at the last line. The camera would take a view not too far from them and as Nenad would belt out the last note of the song, slowly zoom out as he passionately belted out the coda of the song. Once the song was finished, the camera would freeze moving and the arena would darken.

Dorotea and Nenad were locked in a hug, and would then wave to the audience. Dorotea in particular would blow a kiss and hold a hand to her chest, nodding to everyone with that particular smile of hers. For her, being back here with Nenad was nothing short of a blessing, and tonight held a surrealism that gave her a renewed energy.

They would then leave the stage, not wanting to delay the show.

And again
I lie awake with my thoughts of you
I can't hide
These feelings or temptations

Kiss me now
All just fantasies
All I want is nothing more
Than you my love; my heart

This love
My reason for being
This happiness
Is what I strongly feel
Don't let go
Is what I tell and remind myself
This passion
Is why I am alive with love

And now
I can't stop my endless thoughts
I can't hide
These feelings or temptations

Kiss me now
All just fantasies
All I want is nothing more
Than you my love; my heart

This love
My reason for being
This happiness
Is what I strongly feel
Don't let go
Is what I tell and remind myself
This passion
Is why I am alive with love

This passion
Is why I am alive with love

After Dorotea's performance, some time needed to be taken to ensure that Toni wasn't going to be walking out at an awkward time. After the stage was fully cleared and when Dorotea had enough time to be with the audience, the podium was raised once more. Before long, the viewers at home and the screens in the arena were now witnessing a rather befuddled Toni Tomic, who tried not to look any worse for wear. He glanced at the audience with a somewhat knwoing look, setting down the little cue card he was holding and setting one elbow on the podium, as gently as he could without accidentally making it tumble over (as he'd remember from a very unfortunate rehearsal accident).

Toni: Alright, I think we've done enough screaming for the night. You and I, oh you and I, we all know that there's only going to be more excitement. That clock on the screen you're watching?

Toni took a brief pause here.

Toni: You got 7 minutes left to vote.

The clock dramatically intensified for just a second as producers in some corner of the La Cianta Arena were seeing the votes come in. For them, it was an anxiety inducing experience seeing the leaderboard change hands almost every second they were keeping track of what the results were. It was almost anxiety inducing seeing it change hands, with many in the production room holding onto each other and simultaneously also excited to be able to finally reveal this to thr world. The clock was still ticking, and many in RTI were hard at work to make sure this was going to be a good result right out of the gate.

Toni: So, we gave you interval acts. Now we have one more thing to fill up the time. It's time for a recap of the entries to make sure that you get a good reminder of what they were doing. We'll show you the best bits of each nation. Alright producers, roll the tape!

With a graphic 'whoosh' and the WHF45 call-sign on for just a second, the audience cheered and were immediately treated to a recap of all performing entries for this WHF. The first entry up was from Estogium, with Elias singing and crooning the opening entry of the night. Up next then was Kalosia, Izmedu, and etc. The rest of the entries would play their best bits from the performance, emphasizing a dramatic moment either in the staging or in the staging. Either way, it was meant to represent the highlight fromt the entry. Additionally, voting instructions were placed on each entry, which would cause some of the voting totals to spike on the production team's end. They would see the leaderboard change hands once again and some nations even creep up to threaten the win. The recap also came with some good timing. By the time it was over, only a minute remained on the countdown clock. The RTI team knew that it won't be long before the victor was known to the producers and it won't be long until it was time to take the process of revealing the result to the world.

Toni: Alright people, I've been having the producers on my ear for quite some time and...

Toni looked behind and pointed to the screen, revealing a dramatically large '60' that would begin to count down as soon as he did so.

Toni: You have a minute left to vote! If I have panicking producers in my earset, you know it's going to be a close shave. The fate of this contest is in your hands, world. So get on and vote for your favorite!

As soon as the clock reached 10 seconds, Toni didn't even need to pause to get the arena to start counting down. The producers noted this and right on cue, the arena lights would flash dramatically at each tick of the countdown clock. They would flash from 10, 9, 8, 7... all the way down to the last three, the arena getting louder and louder. And once the clock struck zero...

WORLD! STOP! VOTING! NOW!!!

The producers immediately cut the camera view to the cheering audinece as the above words appeared on the stage screens all over, some streamers being released and the whole La Cianta bellowing out that announcement vocally. In the producer's room, they were hard at work making sure everything was verified and ready. The producers looked at each other with smiles. A relief and great excitement awash the team. This was the home stretch. It was all now up to Toni to drive the 45th World Hit Festival home to its eventual conclusion. It took some time for the audience to calm down enough, and again, it took one of Toni's knowing looks to help level the excitement, but once the arena was calm... The producers sent a ping to Toni and the podium, his screen revealing the first set of results, the voting order, and the instructions.

Toni: We're cool now, yes?

He said the above with a chuckle, eliciting some polite laughs from the audience.

Toni: Alright everyone, it's that time of the World Hit Festival season. This is the part where history gets made all the time. It's time to find out the winner of the 45th World Hit Festival!

The arena lit up dramatically, lights whoosing down towards the stage as scoreboard graphics began to be assembled on the screens.

Toni: All that voting you've been doing for the past 20 minutes? This is why. 16 nations have performed and there can only be one winner of the 45th World Hit Festival. Your votes have been tallied up into a ranking that we have used to determine the points. These points are going to look familiar, it's the traditional 1 to 5 voting system that has served us well since the 2nd World Hit Festival.

Toni: Alright, so here's how it's going to work. So, first things first, each nation has given its points to the top 5. 5 points go to your country's favorite, 4 points to the 2nd, 3, 2, and then 1 point for the fifth. The nation with the most points wins, as is standard for voting systems like this. Now, time for how we're going to reveal them.

Toni cleared his throat, knowing there was going to be more speaking ahead.

Toni: We like doing things in phases! It's actually become a bit of a World Hit Festival tradition now. So, what we're going to do is that we've split the voting into two phases. The first phase is going to concern all the points, but the 5. Which means, the 4-3-2-1 from each nation is going to be revealed one by one, so you're gonna know 66% of the full result by the end of the first phase. We won't be revealing your spokesperson so it's just gonna be me spouting off the numbers I see on this podium. Now, you might be thinking, 'wait... doesn't that mean we're gonna know the winner prematurely?' Not necessarily.

Toni: This is where phase 2 comes to play. It's the last 33% of the result, but it also contains the biggest points value in this contest, those legendary and saucy 5 points. Trust me when I say this, those 5 points can cause some major changes to the scoreboard. It has happened multiple time in the past where a nation that does not do so hot in the first phase all of a sudden finds themselves dominating the next one.

Toni: Phew! I think I've said an entire monologue. Alright, it's time for us to get on the with the show. Spokespersons at the ready?

16 distinct wedges appeared on the screen for a few seconds, the spokespersons waving to the audience before disappearing. It was here that the scoreboard appeared once more.

Image

It was go time.

Toni: Alright, kicking off the first phase of the votes is... us! The hosts!

Toni: Alright, let's see how Izmedu voted!

Image

Massive cheers all throughout the La Cianta Arena at the first set of votes, especially as they were noted Izmeduan favorites amongst the domestic fanbase. For the four nations on the board, this seemed to be a good sign looking forward. However, it was very early days yet for the results. Regardless of what happens for these four however, they certainly will not be going home empty-handed.

Toni: Look at that? Some favorites already making the jump. Alright, don't start treating the arena like we know the winner, we barely just scratched the surface. Who do we got next?... Ah! Normandy and Picardy!

4 points: Natanya
3 points: Togonistan
2 points: Britonisea
1 point: Anollasia

Toni: Alright, magic screen that producers have loaded with votes. Who are the lucky nations that got some Normand points?

Image

Only one new nation has joined the leaderboard, and with quite the hefty points count too. However, this looked to be a very early consolidation of points. Could a pattern of nations be emerging here? Or could this well be a machination that producers have cooked up? Regardless, fans of these nations were looking very hopeful. It won't be long until someone's going to cross the double digit barrier.

Toni: An early pile up at the top? Can only gander a guess. Let's see who's next... oh! it's Natanya!

4 points: Kalosia
3 points: Britonisea

Toni: Let's sate our further curiosities to see how Natanya has voted. Are they gonna further an establishment? Or are we going to see some new faces pop up?

Image

Much to the excitement of the fans that were wanting a tight race across as many nations as possible, it was the latter question that was answered. The top 4 were blanked, but all of Natanya's 1-4 votes went to nations that had yet to ring any points on the leaderboard. Of course, it was still very much early days still, but the excitement of such drastic movement on the left hand side was too tantalizing of a prospect to tempter the burgeoning excitement.

Toni: Well! Looks we're getting quite the pile-up all around! A few more nations in, could we see some trends arising? Let's see if... Kishrael will help answer those questions for us.

4 points: Kalmarlund
3 points: Fatiman Federation

Toni: Alright, let's get some Kishraeli votes up in here. Come on scoreboard technology, do your thing.

Image

That three-way tie at the top has been broken! Togonistan has taken the lead, which is sure to make the Togonistani hopeful smile upon this. With the Kishraeli votes on hand, the scoreboard was beginning to look more and more packed. Much to the delight of the home crowd, Izmedu was now on the board. Teesdexxia was looking to make some movements, the country lodged in that three-way rodeo of 5 pointers all tied for second.

Toni: One of these days, we might do one better than the 32nd World Hit Festival and have that entire left hand side tied. Before we tempt fate, let's see how... Estogium voted!

4 points: Izmedu
3 points: Teesdexxia
2 points: Togonistan

Toni: Magic computer with producer control, let's have Estogium's votes appear.

Image

And there was a lead switch to Britonisea! Now, it's the current overseer of the World Hit Festival leading the charge with 9 points. A healthy amount considering this point in the competition, but it's certainly not over yet for any nation. There was also a heavy cheer for the host nation, Izmedu had cracked the top 3. With only 50 points revealed so far however, things were all-but-guaranteed to get interesting from here on out. From the fan that wants multi-way ties to someone wanting their nation to succeed, this was going to be a wild ride.

Toni: My oh my! I think we're all gonna lose our voices by the time this voting section is over. Alright, let's see if... Todlichebujoku continues the status quo or throws some curveballs our way.

4 points: Britonisea
3 points: Anollasia

Toni: How do the Todlichebujoki Phase I votes look?

Image

With the Todlichebujoki votes in hand, the scoreboard only became tighter. Britonisea remained on top, but a debutante was right on their heels. Those supporting Teesdexxia as well as their delegation were looking very hopeful at the trends. With the halfway point in sight, eagle-eyed viewers were hoping to spot some definite clusters beginning to form. Only one thing was certain, there was no runaway just yet.

Toni: If we had the cash, we should definitely consult one of their oracles. Anyway, our next nation is... oh! Anollasia! Last edition's hosts!

Toni: Alright producers, we all wanna know... How did Anollasia vote this edition?

Image

Much to the delight of the home crowd, Izmedu was back on top once more. The closeness of the proceedings meant that no one was sure if this pattern was going to continue, but regardless; there was a heavy cheer for the Anollasian vote. However, the scoreboard at the top reaches of the left hand side only began to pile more and more. Kalosia quickly crept up in a three-way tie for third place, and Kalmarlund was also looking respectable as well. The halfway mark for Phase I was around the corner, but things are surely not over.

Toni: Still looking as dangerously close as ever, I see! Up next is... Astoria!

4 points: Kalosia
3 points: Izmedu
2 points: Todlichebujoku
1 point: Kalmarlund

Phase I 08/16

Postby Izmedu » Wed May 08, 2019 1:20 pm

Toni: Alright Astoria, let's show to the world how your Phase I votes went...

Image

For the first time tonight and fittingly enough at the halfway mark, Teesdexxia was in the pole position on the leaderboard. For the fans of this debutante nation and for their delegation, this was the best sign of the night that they were in serious contention for the title. The whole arena was electric at the constant changes in the scoreboard. However, Teesdexxia's lead was a close one, with Britonisea right at their heels with 11 points. Observers were also noting how Togonistan was making some movements, now in the double-digit points values.

Toni: We're halfway there, people! Don't lose your energy now. Up next is... Fatiman Federation!

4 points: Teesdexxia
3 points: Togonistan
2 points: Britonisea
1 point: Anollasia

Phase I 09/16

Postby Izmedu » Wed May 08, 2019 1:30 pm

Toni: Alright, let's get Fatiman Federation's points in there.

Image

Even more excitement at the advent of these votes, the Fatiman points caused a three-way tie on the scoreboard. Heading into the second half of Phase I, it was now a showdown between Britonisea, Teesdexxia, and Kalosia. Not far behind them were Togonistan and Izmedu. However, observers were seeing Anollasia rising up. The possibility of a World Hit Festival involving a photo finish was looking even more real vote by vote.

Toni: It's only getting closer and closer. I can only imagine how the artists must be feeling in the green room. Alright, up next is... Kalosia!

4 points: Kalosia
3 points: Anollasia
2 points: Estogium
1 point: Britonisea

Phase I 10/16

Postby Izmedu » Wed May 08, 2019 1:40 pm

Toni: Let's unveil the Kalosian votes for Phase I starting... now!

Image

And another leaderboard switch! This time, the lead went back to Izmedu. However, the consolidation at the top half of the scoreboard only kept intensifying. There was now a four-way tie for 2nd place, all nations having received any combination of 12 points thus far. With the tightness of the way the points were being allocated, many were getting excited to see who would truly come out on top at the end of the festival. Phase I was coming to an end, but even those with not that many points could still make some movements and shock the world...

Toni: It's gonna be quite a bit yet before we'll know who our winner is! Let's hope... oh... ah! Kalmarlund! Let's hope they take us closer to an answer.

4 points: Estogium
3 points: Izmedu
2 points: Togonistan
1 point: Kishrael

Phase I 11/16

Toni: Alright producers, let's see how Kalmarlund's Phase I votes went...

Image

And another lead switch! Togonistan takes the lead for the second time tonight, which was sure to make any Togonistanis in the audience and in the green room look excited and hopeful. The excitement kept increasing as many noted that the home stretch for Phase I was at its advent. There were only a few votes left before half-time was reached.

Toni: Look at that, look at that. We're definitely gonna be on our toes throughout this. Alright, let's see... we have... oh... oh my! Vartugia!

4 points: Fatiman Federation
3 points: Togonistan
2 points: Natanya

Phase I 12/16

Postby Izmedu » Thu May 09, 2019 1:10 pm

Toni: This is only their 1-4 votes so far, so don't get too excited. The Vartugian spokesperson will be here in Phase II, I promise.

Image

And again! There was yet another switch at the top, and to the delight of the Izmeduan crowd and the delegation, it was the host nation back on top. However, Vartugia's votes only served to sow the seeds of a top 3 that looked to be consolidating and possibly running away with the competition. Izmedu's lead is closely backed by a strong podium that was only separated by 1 point from each other, that being Togonistan and Britonisea.

Toni: We're at the last few votes for this Phase, everyone! Don't start drifting off now, let's see who is next... oh! Cleaca!

4 points: Izmedu
3 points: Britonisea
2 points: Cleaca
1 point: Togonistan

Phase I 13/16

Postby Izmedu » Thu May 09, 2019 1:20 pm

Toni: What does Cleaca have in store for us?

Image

And now, a tie has been created at the very top of the scoreboard. The possibility of a deadlocked Phase I was looking very real, especially as only three more voters would remain after Cleaca. Even so, this was no reason to concede defeat. It was still an uncomfortably close race to the finish, and the mysteries of Phase II loomed as Anollasia and Estogium crossed the double-digit points barrier. Would those nations, on top of Kalosia and Teesdexxia, be able to cause a last-minute surge?

Toni: We're this close to half-time... Can't believe we've made it this far already! Alright, three to go, and we have... Teesdexxia!

4 points: Estogium
3 points: Anollasia
2 points: Britonisea
1 point: Kishrael

Phase I 14/16

Postby Izmedu » Thu May 09, 2019 1:30 pm

Toni: Alright producers, how did Teesdexxia vote for this Phase?

Image

The tie for first has been broken with Togonistan taking the pole position once more! With only two nations left to go, the excitement was heading towards a fever pitch. A majority of the points would have been revealed by now, suggesting a very positive prognosis for Togonistan at the end of it all. Things certainly aren't over however, with 4 points to Kishrael lodging them in the left hand side.

Toni: Two more voters left... Oh my! Alright, we have... ah! the overseers! Britonisea!

4 points: Kishrael
3 points: Togonistan
2 points: Todlichebujoku
1 point: Natanya
