Rail Ibica Franchises and Commercial Center (Now Open!)

Postby The United States of Ibica » Fri Apr 26, 2019 10:51 am

In accordance with the Passenger Rail Act (2018), the United States of Ibica is seeking to create a passenger rail franchise scheme to better provide passenger rail service to the country. Rail Ibica, which previously operated as a state owned intercity passenger rail provider, is being transitioned to operate as an oversight agency for this project, handling train dispatching, and track and signal maintenance on National Rail, as well as maintaining and staffing major national rail stations. To support this expansion of passenger service, Rail Ibica is seeking to partner with private companies as Train Operating Companies or retailers in Rail Ibica owned Stations. Please note that all railroads in Ibica are non-electrified.

Rail ownership is divided 3 ways in Ibica
  • National Rail: Owned and Maintained by Rail Ibica, consists of track connecting all major cities that any railroad company may use for a small trackage fee.
  • State/Local rail: Track owned by state or local governments. An area with state/local owned track likely also has state/local run services. The primary examples of this are the Angola Brightline high speed rail service that links major cities in Angola. These tracks also allow for any railroad to use them, though typically with a higher trackage fee.
  • Private Rail: Track owned by a private company. Most private rail is owned by the "Big 3" freight rail companies, (Albion Southern & Cartier, United Western, and Hamilton International). Some of these private companies are considering starting passenger service of their own, and will charge very high trackage fees to other Passenger railroads to use their lines.

Rail Card
Image

To improve ease of access to the Rail Ibica network RailCards will be available that can be tapped on sensors at stations in place of tickets (though train operating companies are encouraged to also operate ticking booths for those who do not get/have RailCards). In addition to the physical card, a phone app will also be available for all major phone platforms with the same functionality as the physical card. Users have the option of pre-paying the card, or setting it up to directly charge their debt/credit cards.

Greetings,

As per your requirements I am submitting an application for a Train Operating Company and applications for passenger routes. These will be listed in Attachments 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, & 6.

We would like also like to construct a high speed electric rail system from Troy to St. Clarke stopping at San Marcos. This system would be fully funded by the San Marcos, Charlotte & Northern, the Foreign Rail Holdings Corporation (the owner of the SMC&N), and the Thermodolian National Railroad Corporation. Construction of this system would be supervised by Bainfield Construction Company and involve local construction companies.

If the system is not approved we will still operate an express service between Troy and St. Clarke.

Sincerely,
Marcus Eliot, CEO of San Marcos, Charlotte, & Northern

Monarch Rail,

We are pleased to welcome Monarch Rail to the National Rail family! We have approved your company as a train operator, and are working to get a taskforce together of state Departments of Transportation and RailIbica officials to help get your line built. And your line would not be absorbed into any national network. RailIbica/National Rail is the federal oversight agency for railroads and the office responsible for federally own tracks. We look forward to seeing your trains running soon!
