There is a 3 week incubation period. Therefore, people who are unvaccinated ot undervaccinated (did not get a second booster of measles vaccine as a child) could in fact contract the disease and spread it further.

That's why people are being quarantined. To prevent the outbreak from becoming an epidemic, or god forbid, a pandemic.

Anti-vaxxers being Anti-vaxxers, do you think this is more than enough of an eye opener, or will they still sing their songs of denial? Children are not their parents' body.

The child has the right to their own medical sovereignty, which includes being protected/treated for dangerous diseases.

If children did not have the right to correct medical treatment (in spite of their parents' objections), Jehovah's Witness parents could not be overruled, forcing them to let their children have blood transfusions. They can.

If children did not have the right to correct medical care (in spite of their parents' beliefs), parents would not be prosecuted when they try to pray illness away instead of seeking medical intervention, resulting in the child's death. They are. Often with murder.

Parents have a duty to seek safe and appropriate medical care for their children, including vaccination.

I do think that mandatory vaccination should be considered -- at least for illnesses that have a devastating effect like measles and polio.

As an aside, at my UK university, you did have to be fully vaccinated to live in Halls of Residence. I think that's a sensible idea.

Yes, maybe along with a note after the fact that says "oh hey by the way your child was vaccinated during a mandatory vaccination at school today". And just say there is a public health requirement that is greater than one's freedom of religion/speech/etc. And one's freedoms aren't being violated, they're free to say what they want and free to practice their religion, and the country that gives one those freedoms says your kids gets vaccinated.
