Green Tides
Hand in hand, we march to meet tomorrow.

A The Srivijayan Consortium Roleplay

March 2, 1977; the General People's Congress of Libya proclaims the Jamahiriya or "State of the Masses", in Libya. October 20, 2011; Muammar Gaddafi killed by NATO-backed freedom fighters; marking the fall of the Jamahiriya. February 2019, Faatrik bin Samporna leads a coup against the Sampornese government, and proclaims the 2nd Jamahiriya in Samporna.

A nation rich with oil, rubber, minerals, and many other resources; the land of Samporna may truly live up to its Sanskrit namesake of "perfection". Now, as green tides crash against its white sandy beaches; and the wind of change shakes the palm trees, these resources fall into the hands of Gaddafist socialists; deemed radicals even by most socialists and Muslims.

Yet not all agree at all with these new changes; for far beyond the shores of Samporna, and across the sea; many foreign powers see their interests challenged, or even intrigued. As green tides come to change Samporna for the better or worse, a foreign storm comes to haunt the nation; a storm that may hope either to reverse the changes, or even exploit it.

Even worse, its allies might no longer be allies. Whatever allies the previous administration had, may have different thoughts about the new administration. Will they still, even in Samporna's time of need, offer aid? Or will they be part of the storm to ravage the nation?

Whatever the answer may be, Samporna will stand proud with its people; to victory or martyrdom.

This RP is set to have begun in March 2019, following a popular coup, and may run far beyond the month. It is not necessarily a war RP, because things can be settled peacefully; but it can become a War RP, since intervention without compromise is possible. Hopefully, we can keep the battlefield within the relative area of Samporna; and not turn this into a world war like how most NS War RPs end up.

Rules
1. You must sign-up to join the RP
2. No godmodding
3. No metagaming
4. OP's word is law
5. MT Only. No FanT, No PMT, whatever.
6. Must have comprehensible grammar, spelling, and writing
7. Be realistic. (NOTE: Colonial Empires past the 20th Century aren't realistic)
8. Assume RL World Treaties like MAD(No nukes) are in place
9. You are only required to provide an initial ORBAT if you are intervening. The military factbooks are a must if you plan to intervene or send reinforcements later. If you do not provide military factbooks, you may still participate but are not allowed to take military action.
10. No massive colonial empires.(modern day Britain isn't exactly one so no excuses)

City Square, Kutawatu

Raised to the skies as the rope was pulled down, a piece of cloth flies in the shape of the wind. What folly is a flag, but a mere rag shaped by the direction of the wind? But with pride does this rag fly; the pride of the Sampornese people, the pride of the 2nd Jamahiriya. As the light of the heavens peeks through the clouded sky, shining upon Samporna; this single pole stands tall above all else, with the flag of Samporna flying proudly with the wind.

All across the square; cheered not just the men, but the women and children too as they all stood with pride in the city square. Their voices roared and their chants echoed with pride and joy, as in front of them stood a man with a microphone. Tall and tan, with glasses and a military uniform; he waved back at the people and smiled with them. It was Yuhanna Faatrik bin Samporna, the leader of the Sampornese Green Revolution and the Brotherly Leader of Samporna.

"Comrades! Brothers and sisters, workers and farmers; I stand before you today not simply as a leader- But as a brother, to all of Samporna!" he spoke into the microphone. "For too long, has our great nation been subject dictation! If not at the hands of aristocrats, clergymen or businessmen; then by our own government- The Warisan Council, the parliament of which has become the tool of the modern dictatorship in Samporna! For after all, when a party wins an election- Who gets to decide national policy? Is it the people? No! It is the party- And therefore so, the election is not the victory of the people for the people- But the victory of the party! That is why, we- The people! Have overthrown our oppressors- And taken the reins of control for ourselves! We stand at the dawn of a new Samporna comrades- One where it is you, the people; whom decides what goes and what doesn't! This is your victory!"

Image

Their cheers in response roared throughout the square, and across the city; with cameras rolling and recording live, with news coverage nationwide and beyond. Drumsticks began to beat upon drums, as percussion produced the beat of the crowd; hands clapping, and drums beating. Trumpets sounded, as voices erupted; a new anthem for a new Samporna. Standing in salute, were the soldiers of Samporna; a proud and loyal fighting force, of which Faatrik was comrades with, who stood proudly as the crows sang their new anthem.

This was the display of pride of the new Samporna, broadcast live all across the nation; as well as overseas. For the Sampornese, it was something to be proud of; but overseas, such a display may invite very different reactions...

Liguasan Oil Field, East of Kutawatu, Sout of Picit
"What do you mean, I'm fired?!" Shouted a fat man in a business suit. "I am in charge of this operation, and am YOUR boss!"

In front of his table, stood several men in uniforms- Workers, employees, and the like. Arms crossed and eyes sneering, with scorn and disdain. "It means, you're fired. Comrade Faatrik said it himself- This is the people's victory now. The means of production belong to the workers now."

"I don't care what that socialist says; this is my company, with my deed; and-

The door opens, and in comes a man in a Baju Batikt; followed by several soldiers, who surround the office, backing up the workers.

"What the- Who the hell are you? I'll call the authorities if you don't leave now-

"Mr. Tareef, I am Usaama bin Ashgar; and I work for the Sampornese Administrative People's Commitee. I have papers here that detail how ownership of these facilities now belong to the workers and their elected representative. Have a good day."

The man handed Tareef the papers, who looked over them carefully. "What- I'm calling my lawyer- This is illegal and against the constitution-

"There is no constitution comrade. It's a new Samporna." Said Usaama with a smile, as Tareef was escorted out of the room.

President Khairallah addressing the "Green Tide"

The new leadership in Samporna was alarming for the Khataiyi government, for many different with the biggest being a new hostile government ruling over an Islamic oil producing state. The Khataiyi government had struggled for years with Libya under the regime of Ghaddafi as competition, with the Libyan regime constantly undermining Khataiyi interests and backing insurgents inspired by Ghaddafi's ideology, but the ideology reemerging though not in an Arab or even Middle Eastern country was still concerning, as it could reembolden the movement elsewhere including Khataiy, which is already in a fragile state dealing with balancing relations with the Kurdish population, Shia insurgents backed by neighboring Syria and Iran, and rebels who themesleves align with Ghaddafism, the Khataiyi government also deals with a competition of influence against Turkey, Iran, and Syria.

President Omar Khairallah was sitting watching the news with colleagues of his during his personal time at his house, Khairallah said "This cannot be happening, we already have those filthy Rafida dogs to deal with now Ghaddafi's cancer is back, we cannot have this happen." After that he lit a cigar and one of his friends who was the CEO of a major shipping company in Khataiy replied, "I agree this isn't good for buisness, I know what a pain Ghaddafi was for you." Khairallah replied, "I am going to address this with Revolutionary Command Council, and Executive Council, people need to know we are on top of things and we do not tolerate this." The CEO replied, "I agree Omar, we support you, all of us do." After the small talk Khairallah excused himself a put on his suit and made way for the RCC building where he called upon television stations to come and televise his speech,

"In the name of Allah the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful,

I have seen the news about Samporna, we have all seen the cancer of the so-called "Jamihiriya" in Libya, the land lions like Omar Mukhtar, we by the permission and support of Allah casted out this evil regime that plagued Libya and the Libyan people took forthemselves the power that God has endowed humanity with.

I say sincerly to our brothers in Samporna do not let yourselves be the victims and act now. Be like the Syrian revolutionaries, be like Ahrar al-Sham, by like the Iraqi tribal revolutionaries who stood up against the Safavid occupation, be like the Free Libyan people who saw this same cancer and killed it. We will stand with you and support you, look at history, look at Hussain who stood at Karbala, look at Muhammad who stood at Badr.

I call upon all Nationalist and Islamic forces in Samporna to join forces to free their country, we invite who ever is brave enough to challenge the leadership to come to Khataiy and to meet me, we will support your struggle as it is much like our own back in the 1970s.

I promise you, if you do not take action today, you will have nothing to call yours except for tyranny and oppression, the murder of your sons, the imprisonment of your men and the rape of your daughters and mothers."

After he spoke the Grand Mufti of Khataiy made his own speech, which was sermon covering multiple themes including when it is permissible to revolt against a government much like he had in 2011 with Libya and Syria and continued to do regularly until 2014,

Image
Khataiyi Grand Mufti Ibrahim Hussam Doughmani

"In the name of Allah the most Gracious the most Merciful, all praise is due to Allah the lord of the worlds, peace be upon the messenger of Allah and his family and companions, as for what follows,

My dear brothers and sisters, many times you will hear the people of knowledge say that revolts and revolutions are not allowed, this is a common trend among the students of Sheikh Madkhali, and this is true in many cases, some even go to extremes condemning our Syrian brothers who stood against the Nusayri-Rafidi regime of Bashar, but this is the topic we shall cover today.

You may not revolt against leader even if he is harsh, it is advised from the Prophet, peace and blessing be upon him, that one should be patient and continue to pray. However there does come a point where revolution is obligatory such as the case in Afghanistan in 1979, and again in Iraq in 2003 and again in Syria and Libya in 2011. We cannot ignore basic facts, the Communists, Shias, and Ghaddafi worshippers are all agents of Satanic organizations such as the Red Shields, the Free Masons and others they want to divide and conquer our nations and pollute our youth.

President Omar Khairallah is our brother in religion, and he is correct in saying Samporna's proud people need to take arms now and wage Jihad against the illegal apostate regime, it is obligatory upon every Sampornese citizen to wage war against the unjust institutions, the President called to the example of Hussain at Karbala, I too say look at the revolution of the Grandson of the Messenger of Allah.

Even today you can see this proud spirit in Syria, this is not an experience to fear but rather rejoice. This regime, will destroy Samporna, they will rob you of God said is yours, an era of humiliation and suffering awaits Samporna unless the proud people awaken.

May Allah grant victory to Samporna and bless its people,

Peace be upon you who are watching."

Somewhere in Kutawatu
As he finally put aside the utensils, he looked at his plate one last time; the clear reflection looking back at him. Tan skin and big fish-shaped eyes, shaved head and beard with no mustache. Prominent features and a sharp nose, with arched brows and a tall figure; he sighed, one last time, as he pushed aside his chair and stood up. A dark red shirt with pants of the same shade, he walked; escorted by soldiers armed with the best equipment Samporna could afford.

Through a narrow hallway he walked now, dark and lonely; with cameras watching his every move, as he would finally enter into a small room, with a bed and a doctor. He lay down on the bed, as the doctor's assistant strapped him and restrained him, and the light shone over his face.

Before him, he saw; a tall man with similar features, but with a mustache instead of a full beard and a bit more hair on his head. Faatrik bin Samporna, which he knew none other than as a distant relative from an obscure, supposedly exiled branch of the family.

"This is the last execution of its kind in Samporna, and the People's Committee has even given you the privilege of a final meal." Faatrik told him. "Daniel bin Samporna, former heir and pretender to the abolished Sampornese throne as well as leader of the Sampornese Royal Army; you have been found guilty by the Sampornese people of various crimes including but not limited to; mass homicide, kidnapping, destruction of property, war crimes, and terrorism. Do you have any final words?"

Daniel chuckled before closing his eyes. "Nice to see you didn't include treason there. Is it because Chairman Biru's decision not to execute me is what lead to the popular coup that brought you to power? Is this perhaps your way of thanking me, little prince? Let it be no matter, I swore to Allah I would not die till I see a descendant of Sultan Samporna return to reign over Samporna; and that moment has already arrived. Pretend to have your 'state of the people' or 'true democracy'. I won."

Unsure how to react, the doctor was surprised when he was ordered by Faatrik to continue. From a tray, he took a syringe- Which would come to inject some substance into Daniel's bloodstream, as he lay there; smiling as if victorious.

To only himself, he would say; "And now father, I join you in Heaven; as your dying wish is fulfilled."

Jolo, Sulu
Brown-skinned and of short stature, he walked through the crowd-filled streets of the city. As well dressed as he was, suit and all; he was one that one may now consider, unemployed. While he was approaching such an age, as evident by his wrinkled face; he was not old enough to retire just yet. Somewhere in his 50s, he was now in search of a job- Or rather, was about to be assigned to one. As he made his way to the job assignment center; he could not help but notice, the numerous eyes that watched him. Many things he would hear, things not so pleasant about him-

"Why isn't he in prison?"

"No evidence my ass. He's obviously Nur's kid."

"Probably a bum now since the National Party disbanded."

"People's Congress should just order his execution."

Hands in his pocket, he walked silently through the street; averting his gaze and looking down in shame. He lost his job in February, with no way of returning to his duty as the entire system is met with Faatrik's reforms. With little pride, Biru bin Rajah is only met by the glares of the people he once served- As the former Chairman of Samporna's Warisan Council.

During the final months of the Battle of Brunei, the insurgent group known as the "Sampornese Royal Army" which aimed to restore the Sampornese throne and aristocracy, was on the verge of defeat; and had virtually no more way to win. Faatrik, a politician and military officer; was for finally defeating the SRA at Brunei. However, Sampornese Biru bin Rajah chose to compromise with SRA leader, Daniel bin Samporna, allowing the man and many others guilty of war crimes to walk away freely. Since Faatrik stood firmly against the decision, he was ejected from the Warisan Council for filibustering; causing an uproar among Faatrik's supporters, vastly consisting of military personnel, youth, and poverty; which ignited movement against Biru bin Rajah, who would respond with Martial Law, and eventually get couped.

Outside Faris Palace, Dulawan, Kutawatu
A whisting flight, follows by a crack and a splash. What else, but eggs? Eggs upon the walls and roofs of the Palace of Sultan Faris bin Samporna, whose reign had long ended almost a century ago. Screaming and shouting, as the authorities hurried over to the scene; a riot between Faatrik supporters and dissidents. Such dissidents began throwing eggs and toilet paper, vandalizing the Faris Palace; which would only mean that the Sampornese Royal Army could be ruled out from the possible perpetrators; making these either supporters of one of the former parties or an independent group.

As riot control attempted to disperse the crowd, the chanting and crying of the dissidents could be heard.

"Faatrik bin Samporna, Demagogue King!"

"False revolutionary!"

"Deceiver of the People!"

"Khataiy stands with us!"

Somewhere in the Jungles of Borneo
A single hut, made of thatch and wood; stood silently and solitary in the jungles of Borneo. In it, several men; all in military uniform, lay around, with nothing to do. Some stood guard, others cried, and some simply looked at nothing and did nothing. Their uniforms did not match that of the Sampornese Army, and were dated by some decades; as well as their equipment, which were either old, primitive, homemade, or a mixture of the former. More intriguingly, they had with them a flag; but it was neither the old Sampornese flag nor the new one. It was the flag of the old Sultanate of Samporna.

Image

Suddenly, footsteps through the forest; all men snapped out of their daze, guns at the ready. Carefully, they watched; whomever might pass to enter the camp. Rifles aimed, the traps should have been triggered by now; and the intruder caught. Was it the Sampornese Army? One of Faatrik's goons, they wondered? Whomever it may have been, they cannot be found.

Shaking the foliage as he jumped out from the greenery, a man in commoner's clothes came out; and the men were prepared to shoot- Except they didn't; for the man was none other than their comrade.

"Leman!" one of the men shouted as he jumped out of the hut. "You're alive! You were gone for days!"

"No worries brothers, I have returned with news. Both good and bad."

One by one, the men came out of the hut; each one to greet their brother in arms, who had just returned unscathed.

"Where's your uniform?"

"I had to destroy it, and picked up these commoner clothes from a friendly farmer." Leman replied. "Anyways, good news or bad news first?"

"Some good news would be appreciated. God knows we need some."

"The foreign Muslim nation of Khataiy has denounced the new Jamahiriya, and declared support for freedom fighters to free the nation! That's us! We're freedom fighters, aren't we?"

Cheers and prayers, as each man rejoiced at the news. Foreign support, for which their organization had longed for, for many decades.

"The bad news is- Prince Daniel has been killed."

Faris Palace, Kutawatu
Egg yolk upon the window, Faatrik sat upon a chair in his office; with a desk and computer in front of him. Upon the keyboard he typed, and on the screen was what seemed to be a word document of an official document.

It has come to my attention that a speech you have made had incited several insurgent groups which are anti-revolutionary. I understand that you may not respect our nation even if we have done you no wrong, but do not understand why. What is it that displeases you? That we are socialist, or that we are a true democracy? We, like you; are a fellow Muslim nation, only seeking the right and freedom to prosper and worship. What is it that we have done to deny ourselves that right? We have not attacked you, nor have we attacked any of your nationals; there is no reason for us to stand against each other. We are a peaceful people, and only hope to be able to better cooperate with other nations such as your own in the future. I peacefully request, that you in the future may refrain from supporting any dissidents that hope to undermine my nation's democracy; as several terrorist groups including the SRA may take note and continue their spree of terrorism. Even before the Jamahiriya, these groups have been causing trouble and creating chaos for us. Whatever lives these terrorists might take in the future, are in both our hands now. All you have to do to prevent further death and destruction at the hands of these terrorists, is refrain from supporting them.

After Khairallah's speech he called upon the chiefs of the Directorate of State Security which is part of the Ministry of the Interior and the Department of General Military Intelligence which is part of the Ministry of Defense, as well as the defense and interior ministers themselves to a meeting regarding the situation in Samporna. The Khataiyi government had backed many insurgencies before in nearby states namely Syria, Iraq, Libya and Palestine at times working with other governments in the region and foreign states in doing so, the Khataiyi government had been a major supporter of the Syrian rebellion causing a rift with Turkey over influence in Syria whilst also working with Turkish intelligence against the common enemies, the Khataiyi government also worked with the Syrian government in the mid-2000s during the Iraq war in securing support for the Iraqi resistance, the government also put great effort in countering Iranian influence in Palestine working with the Palestinian Authority and even the Israeli government at times, while in Libya, Khataiyi intelligence officers would recruit dissidents and locals as spies to sabotage and disrupt the country and in 2011 collaborated with NATO, Tunisia and Qatar to support the Libyan rebellion.

While the Department of General Military Intelligence was highly organized and unified the same could not be said for the Directorate of State Security which is a large organization filled with multiple sub-groups that at times even compete against one another in their tasks, the DSS handled many things from rooting out corruption to sending arms and money to Syrian rebels to counter-intelligence and assassinations, the DSS also included the infamous Munafidhi formerly headed by Khairallah's nephew who himself traveled into Syria fighting for various groups until forming his own in Eastern Syria out of people he recruited from across the different factions, the Munafidhi was cited by many critics of the country as being a government run gang/mob like organization its members were recruited only by word of mouth, many allegedly had criminal tendencies but somehow proved useful to the government and where thus recruited and enjoyed numerous privileges, the Munafidhi also operates with near total autonomy, in 2010 they made international headlines for brutally murdering the family of known drug trafficker and stealing not only personal property but his narcotics as well with the government officially declaring a security operation.

Both the DSS and DGMI have their own paramilitary forces as well that are both registered as part of the National Guard, many Munafidhi members are members of the DSS' paramilitary wing known as the "Special Security Operations Unit" while its DGMI counter-part is known as the "Rapid Intervention Unit" Both the SSOU and RIU were involved in numerous domestic operations against various dissidents as well as repelling an attempted Syrian invasion in early 2018 and providing direct military support to Syrian rebels located in Idlib and Afrin. Both units also sent advisors to Saudi Arabia in 2015 to assist with the Saudi-led intervention against the Iranian backed Houthis in Yemen, the DSS and its SSOU paramilitary also maintain a presence in northern Saudi Arabia near the Iraqi-border to help protect the country from potential threats posed by Iranian backed militias which has caused friction with the Iraqi government.

Now these same tactics used by Khataiy in the region were to be applied in Samporna, but this would be difficult task due to logistics however all this was to be discussed with the President, one of the topics brought up was the influx of foreign fighters Khataiy witnessed between 2013 and 2015 some of whom also came from Samporna to fight in neighboring Syria with assistance from the Khataiyi government, this lead discussions about the Sampornese people and their diaspora, research was also done into potential opponents of the new regime including Monarchists, Nationalists and Wealthy classes all of whom were considered useful and reliable for staging a proper rebellion. During the talks mention of the DSS' presence in Saudi Arabia came up as a conversation about arms smuggling to Samporna came up, President Khairallah asked "We know they need arms, but what is the point of having weapons if you have no one to use them, we know who wants them but how can reach them?" The defense minister replied, "When we were in Saudi Arabia and the other Gulf States they had large communities of expats, Europeans, Malaysians, Indians etc. I think the kind of people we want are easier to reach than you think."

Khairallah replied, "That is an excellent idea, I want all of you especially you lions in the Directorate of State Security to recruit as many Sampornese as you can find them and send them here to Khataiy, pay them if they want money, have them tell their friends, I do not care if they are poor or rich, criminals or angles, we are building an army. We could get some of our Syrian and Palestinian friends involved as well they have experience..." The men nodded in agreement and plans for operations in the Gulf were underway to find recruits willing to fight the government of Samporna.

After the meeting Khairallah returned home where he was informed of the response from Samporna's government, and its condemnation of Khataiyi calls for rebellion, a response was published soon after,

ADDRESSED TO : President Khairallah of Khataiy
FROM : Faatrik bin Samporna of Samporna

That is a shame. I had hoped we may be able to set aside our differences and cooperate as Muslim nations. We mean you no harm, nor do we wish you any will; however, if the people of Samporna see it fit, we may be forced to action. It is my hope, that if not now, in the future; you, or your people, may see past the demonized form you imagine us in, and be able to see Samporna for what it really is.

If you reject all dealings of an illegitimate authority, then let me inform you that the people are the legitimate authority of Samporna, and truly, of all nations. If you do not believe us, we have papers; signed by Chairman Biru bin Rajah himself, that acknowledges his own stepping-down from power as well as the legitimate governance of the People's Congress.

If that is not enough; then there are also papers wherein Daniel bin Samporna, heir and pretender to the defunct Sampornese Throne; had signed me off as the new heir and head of the Samporna family. If such is true, then I am heir to the Sampornese Throne; and so, I surrender legitimate authority to the people of Samporna.

You see comrade, the people of Samporna are the legitimate authority of Samporna; and it is they who are currently in power. I am but a guide.

A BPC somewhere in Brunei
In Gaddafi's political theory, a democracy is governed by popular congress. In its most basic form in Samporna, one finds the Basic Popular Conference; in which every adult has the right and duty to participate. Each BPC then selects a secretariat, and all BPC secretariats form the Non-Basic Popular Conference; the masses of which select Administrative People's Committees. Such is the form of true democracy, achieved through its most basic unit; the BPC.

One such adult participating in the BPC, is Azura binti Kamat; a woman who seeks to be able to travel to other parts of the nation much more easily. Within her local BPC, she proposes the most interesting idea; a Y-shaped highway and railway system connecting all of Samporna, from Borneo to the very tip at the end of Palawan as well as tribal Bukidnon.

The BPC debates the idea, rolls the idea around in their heads; and submits the proposal to the NBPC.

SRA Leader Daniel bin Samporna Executed Via Lethal Injection
by Mariam binti Che
April 4, 2019

Earlier this week, Daniel bin Samporna had been executed via lethal injection. The man was the most recent leader of the terrorist organization known as the Sampornese Royal Army (SRA); succeeding his father Bintang bin Samporna following the man's death in the Pirate Wars of 2011. Shariah Court had issued the man's execution according to the principle of Qisas; wherein the man pays reparations in kind to the victims of his crimes. As a result, he has been sentenced to death; and his wealth redistributed. The man is responsible for multiple terrorist attacks across Samporna for more than a decade, and the deaths of more than 800 hundred people, affecting many families.

The Sampornese Royal Army finds its origins in the Armed Forces of the Sultanate of Samporna (AFSS); which disbanded in 1968, after the Iskandar Revolt. The Sampornese Royal Army is formed from remnants of the former AFSS, who follow whomever they believe to be the heir to the Sampornese Throne; and seek only to restore the Sampornese throne and aristocracy, as well as destroy all notions of Sampornese democracy, republicanism, socialism, or any non-monarchist or non-aristocratic system.

Just last year, the Sampornese Royal Army initiated the Battle of Bandar under Daniel; lasting for several months and causing more than a hundred deaths until former Chairman Biru bin Rajah organized a peace treaty and compromise with the Sampornese Royal Army, with the possibility of the establishment of a constitutional aristocracy. When Faatrik bin Samporna stepped into power, he immediately repealed the decision and ordered the arrest of several SRA leaders; with the consent of the newly established People's Conference, allowing Daniel and the other SRA leaders to face punishment.

Before his death, Daniel bin Samporna had signed off the Sampornese throne to Faatrik; who rejected the offer to be Sultan, content with his duty as a revolutionary guide rather than a king. As of the moment, the SRA is in disarray; and its remaining members are dispersed and being hunted down, though rumors are circulating that they have begun to receive foreign support; likely stemming from the fact that the president of Khataiy had earlier voiced support for insurgents to fight against the Sampornese Jamahiriya.

RE: Normalizing Political and Economic Relations With the Jamahiriya of Samporna, Addressed to the People's Congress of the Jamahiriya

CONGRATULATING the revolutionary struggle of the Sampornese people in their establishment of a Socialist state to advance the banner of the Workers' Democracy, the Federated People's Republic of Pan-Asiatic States, on behalf of the Pan-Asiatic Federal Congress of Soviets and Asian Communist Party, extends its support to the People's Congress of the Jamahiriya, the serviced masses of the Sampornese nation, the established Basic Popular Conferences of the new state, and the newly-empowered Brotherly Leader of Samporna, Faatrik bin Samporna, with an open mind and an excited rigor for peace and prosperity.

We also congratulate, beyond the new governing state-bodies, the heroic bravery of the popular army against the Sampornese Royal Army. Learned of our own sacrifices in the battle against Imperialism, we are pleased to meet the acquaintance of a worthy ideological ally, an ally equal in dedication to the world being built by Socialism and Marxist ideals in the 21st Century. We commend the revolutionary ideologues who have brought this struggle to the light of national issues, and are glad to know that this guiding torch of solidarity will be continued beyond new heights of adversaries yet unconquered.

Thus, through the soul of political rebirth, we humbly ask for a normalization of the revolutionary government's economic aims toward our Asian frontier. In collaboration with the Trade and Industry Commission of the Federated People's Republic of Pan-Asiatic States, we offer a re-establishment of new trade routes and low-tariffication legislation between our two borders, of which the Commission can discuss further with your own authorities later on.

Our interest in Samporna's oil reserves and natural resources are backed with reasonable rates befitting the young and developing status of the nation. We hope that through our endeavor, we can aid the growth of your Socialist society in an honorable and fair manner. As this release is being drafted, the Commission is already in the works of discussing subsidization parameters by researching the economic status quo of your new society.

In regard to this, we would ask too, additionally, for the mutual construction of embassies between our two great nations. If permittance is given to us to do so, as we will vise versa, we could levy such an arrangement to advance political relations between the Jamahiriya and the Federated People's Republic beyond normalization.

We hope that the People's Congress and the executive powers of the Jamahiriya consider our humble offer. We sincerely look forward to developing Samporna's productive forces amidst political rivalries with the West who seek intentions far worse and converse to our own.

We stand with the Jamahiriya! Wei Renmin Fuwu!

Khataiyi foreign minister discussing Khataiyi outlook with state-run media

The accusations that Khataiy was backing terrorirsts in Samporna was a clever propaganda move on behalf of the Sampornese government after the Khataiyi President Omar Khairallah openly renounced the leadership of the country and has called for a popular revolt against the government, many other questions have also arose regarding Khataiyi outlook and foreign policy over recent events such as the current fighting in Libya where Khataiy had backed anti-Ghaddafi forces which has been criticized by many claiming that Libya is unstable now and in a worse state now than under Ghaddafi, some have called the current Khataiyi stance a mirrored example of what they deem as a "mistake" made in 2011, however Khataiy has denied all of these claims and maintains its stance in condemnation of Ghaddafi's regime and the attempted resurgence movement known as the "Green Resistance" and the ideology of Ghaddafi, the foreign minister met with a journalist from a media agency closely linked to the Khataiyi government to make a statement in response to Samporna's claims and to voice Khataiy's stance on their ideology,

"Peace be upon you Minister Ghamadi, I hope you are well today." The journalist said, Ghamadi replied, "And may peace be upon you." The journalist went on, "The new regime in Samporna, as you know is inspired by the Ghaddafi regime's form of governance, they call it a 'Green wave' and claim they support Islamic values and assisting third world states and acting as opposition to the imperialists and the ideologies of Capitalism and Communism. But in our country our history with this movement has not been so well, would you like to share a bit on this?" Ghamadi nodded his head agreeing then spoke, "Yes, yes, Sahih (lit, authentic, context, correct/indeed/right) after our revolution where the nation's people opposed the corrupt criminal regime that blatantly opposed the people, the Libyan regime at the time under Ghaddafi took advantage of the violence and time of rebuilding to attempt to hijack our revolution alongside the Safavid Iranians and Alawite traitors in Syria along with Communist and secessionist rebels, but all praise is due to Allah that we vanquished these traitors through our unity, reliance on God and our brothers in other Arab states. Ghaddafi during his time imprisoned the Islamic scholars of his nation and he made himself God, he turned his back on his Arab brothers and seemed to forget himself he was an Arab, he jumped into putting the interests of the African and 'third world' states ahead of the Arabs leaving Palestine in the dark, during the Arab-Iranian war he again betrayed the Arab nation and stood with the Safavids, letting the blood of the Iraqi people flow, he was a tyrant and by Allah we are proud in saying we opposed him and assisted our Libyan brothers during their revolution."

The Journalist nodded several times saying "mhm, mhm" then asking, "Mr.Ghamadi, Samporna is not an Arab state however and times are different how would does Samporna pose a potential threat to our country and what is the Khataiyi stance on the current opposition movements that Samporna considers terrorists organizations, we would also like to know your thoughts on the current situation in post-Ghaddafi Libya given that as we speak heavy clashes are ongoing around Tripoli between former revolutionary parties for control over the country."

Ghamadi replied, "The ideology of Ghaddafi is toxic be it in an Arab nation or not, the ideology is not an Arab or Islamic ideology by its own definition it is an ideology to replace Communism and Democracy, and like Communism it is a threat, the only difference is how it masquerades in Islamic and at times Arabist and Nationalist shrouds to gain support from ignorant and gullible individuals, you have to be naive to believe in this. As for the allegations that their opposition are terrorists, this is a common tactic from what we know they are linked to the former government and thus we consider them resistance, the new 'government' is stealing from the people, they are tyrants, and it breaks our hearts to witness this, so yes we stand in solidarity with the resistance. As for the current situation in Libya our hearts mourn for them as well to see brothers murdering one another for foreign interests and we call upon them to stop and if needed and if they wish we are prepared to act as mediators between the Libyan factions, as we believe Arab and Islamic nations in general need to stand firmly together and united as one from Morocco to Samporna."

The journalist replied, "Thank you Mr.Ghamadi." Ghamadi, replied, "Thank you."

Anti-Jamahiriya Forces Recruiting Sampornese Expats in Gulf States
by Mariam binti Che
April 10, 2019

An anonymous tip reports that Sampornese expats are being recruited by anti-Jamahiriya forces. The anonymous tipper claims to be a Sampornese living in the Gulf States, who says people attempted to recruit him for anti-Jamahiriya activities. The degree of such activities is unknown; whether it be simple advocacy against the People's Jamahiriya, or violent insurgency. While such intelligence is unconfirmed, the ISJ has agreed to look into it; and the People's Committee of Foreign Affairs is eager to inquire such notions with gulf states, though lack of cooperation may be expected with nations of which Khataiy has influence in. No specific group has been linked with the activities as of yet.

Peace be with you all! With the dawn of a new era in Samporna, we would like to foster and renew our history of cooperation with fellow Muslim nations such as those of yourselves! However, there are obstacles in such a future; obstacles that we may overcome together for a brighter future of cooperation and friendship between all Muslim nations. One such obstacle, is the hostility some may feel towards our nation; a hostility that is attempting to uproot our nation from within your very lands! We have received intelligence that anti-Jamahiriya forces are acting within your nations, recruiting Sampornese expats for their own sinister purposes. We would like to request that you share with us any intelligence regarding these forces, as they may be vital to preventing unnecessary loss of life and terrorism. Thank you for cooperation!

An Airport in one of the Gulf States
A Sampornese man in a finely made Baju Batik, with intricate Okir designs weaved into the garment; walks out of the airport with his bags. He wears a songkok, as well as a sarong; all Malay clothes worn by Sampornese. He is short and brown, with prominent features and a pair of spectacles. Next to his ear, he speaks to someone on the other end of the phone in Malay.

"Yes honey, I know it's not going to be easy; but we have to start anew somewhere else! The new Sampornese government- Or rather the lack of it; carries the lies of Gaddafi and socialism! We have to move elsewhere if we are to have a proper life! I'm already here, I'll be waiting for you and the kids soon." he says, before finally hanging up.

Were there any recruiters looking for Sampornese expats, this man would surely be noticed. And the recruiters would be wise to be able to understand Malay, and so be able to figure out who and who isn't Sampornese and what their feelings toward Samporna may be. As such, this man would be a prime target for recruiters looking for Sampornese expats.

PAS Normalizes Relations With Victorious Sampornese Revolutionaries Through Official State-Visit
Bagumbayan
April 16th, 2019

The Pan-Asiatic Ministry of Foreign Affairs, under the approval of the de facto Minister of Foreign Affairs, Secretary-General Abra, has approved the conduction of a state-visit bound for the newly-constituted Jamahiriya of Samporna, a socialist archipelago which the Federation hopes to normalize relations with following the deposition of the old monarchistic government and the establishment of the new 'Peopledom'. On April 16, 2019, at 1:57 PM, delegates left the tarmac of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Neo-Manila, and set their course to meet the new proletarian committees who have declared sovereignty over their war-torn nation.

Last April 8, the Office of the Sixth Administration released a statement congratulating the success of the Socialist revolution in Samporna, in a public dispatch entitled 'Normalizing Political and Economic Relations With the Jamahiriya of Samporna, Addressed to the People's Congress of the Jamahiriya'.

The Jamahiriya of Samporna, a young nation, won its independence only recently when the last of the Sampornese Royal Army was detained or executed by the revolutionary government. However, the nation has long since been a place of culturally-connected peoples, with its origins rooted in the Sunni Islam faith.

The dispatch outlined the position of the Asian Communist Party on the recent affairs of the Samporenese government, hoping to re-establish the trade routes (with even a possibility of expansion of such endeavors) which the two nations once shared. The dispatch also outlined the mutual construction of embassies between the Jamahiriya government and the Federated People's Republic. A few days later, The Popular Conference of Samporna responded with an invitation to the Secretary-General to personally visit their nation on official state-visit to further the agenda of the terms indicated by the release, which has been promptly accepted.

Eyewitness accounts and footage indicate that on the way to the airport itself, paparazzi trailed the Secretary-General's limousine, and on the way to the executive airbus, it followed his footsteps, showing that media attention on the historic summit is still reportedly at an all-time high.

Despite this, to the citizens of the capital and of the Federation, the summit seemed only a little off-putting. In our interviews of public opinion on the matter, many cited that the summit was 'out-of-place' and that the Pan-Asiatic government should focus all efforts on the immediate economic problems before aiding the affairs of distant lands. On social media, many netizens express their distraught at the Trade and Industry Commission's offer to lower tariffs in favor of the Sampornese government, a point raised in the original dispatch sent by the Federation. One such netizen even stated: "We shouldn't tend to somebody else's plants if our own backyard is on fire."

The Pan-Asiatic States, after all, is in the middle of major crises. The Federation must deal with affairs of utmost international importance, such as managing the country's position in the International Socialist Congress, and reconstructing damaged resources, both collateral and physical, in their own territories of East Timor (following the armed protests of March 25). But, in a press release, the Secretary-General had insisted that:

"The affairs of this Federated People's Republic should not limit itself with the mere development of productive forces at [home] but should be ready to embrace long-term styles of thinking [...] especially when in regard to allies of the Socialist cause."

One motivation for the pursuit of the agenda, despite the difficulties on the home front, which the Secretary-General had referred to, was Samporna's access to a sizable oil reserve. The Trade and Industry Commission has already stated that these reserves are in the best interest of the Pan-Asiatic States' fiscal policy and military expansion. The Commission has drafted much incentives and well-priced bargains for the acquisition of this oil, and many locals of the Federation fear that these prices are more strenuous to the interests of the Federation than they should be.

Agenda for the upcoming summit between the two nations, as proposed by Zhan Yahui-Molotov Sr., the Secretary-General's Undersecretary for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, aside from trade matters, may also include discussions on the political atmosphere of the world in regard to each nation's socio-political problems, possibilities of exchanging government advisers to observe, report, and humbly comment on the overseeing of Socialist affairs in both nations, and the creation of Party consulates alongside ambassadorial consulates throughout major cities in both the Pan-Asiatic States and Samporna.

While the future between the Pan-Asiatic States, long a friend of the revolutionary struggle, and Samporna, remain yet unknown, many are optimistic about the possibility of more cordial relations.

PAS Leader Comrade Abra visits Samporna
by Mariam binti Che
April 17, 2019

Following the normalization of relations between the Jamahiriya of Samporna and the Federated People's Republic of the Pan-Asiatic States, Secretary-General Guanyu Abrahamovich "Comrade Abra" y Florante has accepted the Sampornese People's Conference's proposal for a state visit, and has arrived in the Kutawatu National Airport. The People's Conference had invited the government leader for a state visit last April 9th, following normalization of relations on April 8. The Revolutionary Committee led by the Brotherly Leader Faatrik bin Samporna has seemed to express support for the action, and approved of their decisions.

Abra's plane was reported to have been welcomed by members of the Revolutionary Committee, and given a 21-gun salute. A military band played the Sampornese Jamahiriya's National Anthem with leaders of both nations in salute, followed by the Pan-Asiatic States' National Anthem. A review of a military guard of honor was conducted, followed by the visiting head of state being formally introduced to senior officials/representatives of Samporna and the Brotherly Leader being introduced to the delegation accompanying Comrade Abra. The leaders were reported to have exchanged gifts before being escorted to Faris Palace in a convoy.

Reports indicate that the convoy was met with an eager and vibrant crowd, with no reported terrorist attacks by the SRA or other terrorist groups.

The leaders are expected to have a state dinner in Faris Palace, with Comrade Abra as the guest of honor. Following so, the leaders will travel throughout Mindanao, Borneo and Palawan to meet the People's Conference, and visit country landmarks such as the Yuhanna Monument in Borneo. The state visit will be ended with cultural events linking both nations.

It is hoped that the activity will foster a spirit of trust and cooperation between the two nations, and strengthen the bond between both nations.

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Image

After the meeting with the President days ago calling for a campaign to recruit exiles, dissidents and criminal elements in Samporna willing to fight the government in nearby countries namely the Gulf States, work began immediately in Saudi Arabia where it would be easiest to find Sampornese for Khataiyi recruiters. Khataiy's Munafidhi was given the biggest part in this task given its position as the internal policing force of Khataiy's intelligence as well as its other infamous activities. Khataiy enjoyed good relations with most other Arab nations including Saudi Arabia and since the fall of Saddam Hussein in Iraq and the rise of Iran's influence in the region the two have become strong strategic partners over the coarse of recent years, the Khataiyi military even maintained several hundred troops in the country and a small amount of airmen, Khataiy also maintained an embassy in Riyadh and consulates in several cities including Jiddah, Arar, Hail, and Dammam, these facilities were protected by the Office of Diplomatic Security which itself is the child agency of the Directorate of State Security, because of Saudi Arabia's border with Iraq and Iran's control over the country as well as the conflict with the Houthi insurgents in the South, the Munafidhi also held a substantial presence in Saudi Arabia.

Many members of the Office of Diplomatic Security were themselves members of the Munafidhi force which is how they landed their jobs in the office and keeping diplomats in line and providing top level protection, and proving their own loyalty to the country, with Khataiyi soldiers in the country as well they would ensure their loyalty and crack down on possible defectors, traitors, corruption or anything that could harm the country. They would also work on destroying criminal networks with ties to Khataiy such as smuggling rings, illegal immigration, human traffickers and anyone with ties to Iran, Iraq or the Hezbollah network, at times there was also cooperation with Saudi authorities in this regard and at other times Saudi authorities would look the other way at the Munafidhi's actions.

In northern Saudi Arabia the Munafidhi holds a strong presence dealing with tribal networks, and smuggling weapons into Iraq to oppose Iranian forces and proxies and gathering intelligence from spies in Iraq and opposition movements such as the underground Baathist movement led by Saddam Hussein's former officials, cross border operations were frequent, the intelligence gathered was often shared with the governments of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan, intel was also occasionally passed onto Israel and the United States as well on anything regarding Iran or their proxies.

Now they had a new task, recruiting Sampornese to do what many Iraqis dissatisfied with Iraq's pro-Iran government had done for Khataiy since the fall of Saddam Hussein, these same tactics would be used, large sums of money would be offered to Sampornese willing to collect intel and if they already had information a large reward awaited them for their knowledge, men willing to fight are also wanted, and this would all begin on social media by reaching out dissidents and expats and would flourish from there.

"Good, tell him to say more controversial opinions on his end. We'll find these recruiters one way or another." another man said. The signal was itself encrypted and anonymous.

Postby Aztecas Rojas » Mon Apr 22, 2019 12:12 am

The dimly-lit room was bustling with activity deep in the Lacandon Jungle of southern Aztlan. The room belonged to one of the many clandestine operation centres dotting Aztlan, its function to house the frequently moving ruling apparatus, the Aztecas Rojas. The strongman leader of the People's Republic of Aztlan, Brother Number One was in this particular centre quite conveniently. News had just reached the high-ups in government of a revolution in the South-East Asian nation of Samporna, a region the Aztecas Rojas considered fruitful to exert their influence and the hand of friendship.

A stocky, bearded man sat upright behind a rotted desk, wearing standard civilian wear. A brown, long-sleeved shirt, black trousers and a red scarf tied around his neck. A plain black cap adorned his shorn head. He sat composed, skimming a report on the economic productivity of several newly founded communes on the Baja California peninsula. On the desk were two items, an austere typewriter and a golden bust of Mao Tse-tung. Another man, dressed in the same apparel entered the room, extending his clenched fist in salute to the seated man. The man sitting, was no other than Brother Number One, leader of the revolution in Mexico, and the country's de-facto head of state and government. As the newcomer approached, he gracefully placed the report down on the table, and cast his charming glance towards him.

"Esteemed comrade, news has approached us of a revolution in Samporna, located in South-East Asia."

- Interesting. Thank you, comrade. What is the history?

"A noble-born man, Faatrik bin Samporna lead a relatively peaceful coup, deposing the previous administration and proclaiming the 'Second Jamahiriya.' A terrorist group is also operating in the area, going by the Sampornese Royal Army. The new government recently executed their leader, the Prince Daniel bin Samporna."

- Fascinating. I take it they base their new government on the Green Theory by the Comrade Gaddafi?

"Yes, comrade. That is correct."

- Send off a diplomatic communique at once. It must be known that we stand behind them and their venerable socialist revolution. That is all comrade.

The man saluted, in the same fashion, again and left the room. He headed to another, and to fulfill the wish of Brother Number One.

We here at the People's Republic of Aztlān are overjoyed at the news of the benevolent coup d'état that was executed in Samporna. We would like to resolutely commend Comrade Faatrik bin Samporna for his unwavering determination & willpower to free the Sampornese people from the yokes of capitalist and imperialist oppression. Let it be known henceforth, that the People's Republic of Aztlān stands steadfast behind the new, Second Jamahiriya of Samporna, & offers our hand in socialist kinship. While our variances in ruling ideology may be apparent, we maintain the unity of socialist nations is paramount in this age of global capitalism.

We would like to offer a diplomatic attaché from the cadre of the Aztecas Rojas to visit the new Sampornese Jamahiriya, to create & strengthen bonds between our two great, socialist nations. In further offer of newfound friendship, we are extending an offer to partake in the trade of locally produced vegetables, tropical fruits, gold, silver & other mined materials such as lead ores, copper ores & zinc ore, to strengthen the economy of Aztlān and to benefit Samporna in any possible fashion.

Let it also be known, the People's Republic of Aztlān also unequivocally stands behind Samporna in solidarity against the empty, worthless threats lodged by the Khataiyi government.

Cordially yours,

The mass line of Aztlān.

KANG YINGYONG'S OFFICE
KANG YINGYONG'S SUBURBAN APARTMENT
OUYANG

18:37 Zhouran Standard Time (UTC+11:00) - 4/23/20XX
Senior Marshal Kang Yingyong - People's Republic of Zhouran

It was a clear, sunny spring afternoon, calm winds blow across the landscape and the sun setting across the horizon, at this time Senior Marshal Kang Yingyong, wearing a business casual attire consisting of a white button-up collared shirt with sleeves rolled up, grey suit pants, and black leather dress shoes, was sitting behind his desk made from the finest hardwood in the rich forests of Zhouran. On top of Kang Yingyong's desk was his sleek computer tablet with a 12.9 inch UHD LED touchscreen. The Ministry of National Security sent a standard nation-overview report to Kang Yingyong, it was a report about the small oil-rich Southeast Asian state of Samporna and how the nation became the second jamahiriya.

Kang Yingyong's smartphone was ringing in his pocket. He grabbed his phone and see that it was from the Ministry of External Affairs. "喂" he answered. On the other line was one of the personal assistants to Hadarong Shaokang, the Minister of External Affairs, who called up on the President of the State Presidium to ask what the country's official position is on the new government of Samporna. Hadarong Shaokang's personal assistant, nervous due to the fact that she's actually to the Big Boss on the phone, nervously replied "uh... sir, uhm, what's our nation's official position regarding the new government of Samporna, which they took power through a coup, Mrs Hadarong Shaokang wants to know if the People's Republic should establish friendship due to, uh... us being non-aligned neutral". Kang Yingyong stood up from his chair, grabbed his Zhouranese cigar and took a puff while thinking about a decision. "Mmhhhhh" the Big Boss said to himself. "Samporna has potential, not only do we need to establish relations with the new Sampornese government but we should also provide all the support they need as well as protection" the Big Boss sternly replied to the nervous personal assistant to the Minister of External Affairs. "Samporna needs a healthy economy for its socialist economy to work, they need financial and industrial aid from Zhouran if they want to become economically prosperous, they also need Zhouranese military advisers so their military can become more effective, anyway tell Hadarong and the rest of the Ministry of External Affairs that the People's Republic will provide all the support Samporna need, all at concessional prices".

There was an awkward silence, Mrs Hadarong's personal assistant was silent for a couple of seconds before she replied to what the Big Boss has said. "Uh, sure sir, I'll tell Mrs Hadarong about that, uhm... have a good day sir" she nervously replied.

Kang Yingyong sat back down to his chair. He took another puff from his cigar while contemplating about the new government in Samporna. As he continued looking through the report, he finds that the coup that happened in Samporna months earlier was led by a young man by the name of Faatrik bin Samporna, a member of the former royal family of the Sultanate of Samporna and a believer in Gaddafi's Third International Theory. Kang Yingyong wasn't a fan of autocrats, in fact he dislikes them. To the Big Boss, national leadership should be collective with each individual having different responsibilities, as is the case in Zhouranese-style leaderships. But regardless, Kang can sympathize with Faatrik's cause in Samporna, mainly because politics in Zhouran & Zhouranese-style economics are characterized as socially right-wing and economically left-wing, but also because Zhouran's position as a non-aligned neutral global-power makes the country an alternative type of ally for any nations regardless of politics. It's one of the many reasons why Kang Yingyong created his 2018 Foreign Policy plan, of which he extended it to 2019 and beyond so as to continue Zhouran's favorable geopolitical position while providing any assistance to nations of different political flavors.

The People's Republic of Zhouran had finally made it official that, as part of fulfilling its responsibilities and obligation as a world power, it will strongly support Faatrik bin Samporna's green government rather than staying neutral. During a press conference in Ouyang, Hadarong Shaokang told press the PRZ "will extend a hand to Samporna and establish a strong fraternal bond between two great nations". "It is our responsibility and obligation as a responsible non-aligned neutral global-power to provide assistance and protection to the nation of Samporna in the name of friendship and common interests" she added before leaving the podium just as reporters began asking various questions.

After arriving back in her office, Hadarong began writing up a message before sending it to the young Sampornese leader.

To Mr Faatrik bin Samporna, Brotherly Leader of Samporna

The People's Republic of Zhouran strongly sympathizes with your coup d'état and your nation's political aspirations based on Gaddafi's political teachings. As a result, the PRZ shall strongly assist your nation politically, economically and militarily.

Politically, the PRZ shall provide diplomatic protection towards Samporna, and if your nation was to experience sanctions from imperialistic nations then the PRZ shall provide diplomatic assistance for Samporna. Economically, for a nation to be a workers' paradise they must have a very healthy economy, with the PRZ being a great example. We are more than happy to provide economic assistance to Samporna in the form of financial aid and industrial assistance. As a result, Samporna shall receive financial aid from Zhouran worth ZN¥3,560,300,000.00 (US$9,443,161,705.00) while Zhouranese industry advisers and vocational instructors are ready to head towards your nation to provide assistance to your industries and technocrats while also providing your workers with proper training so as to further strengthen the Sampornese industrial base. Militarily, the Zhouranese People's Army is ready to send battle-experienced military advisers from the Ground Force, Air Force, and Navy so as to provide your military with proper military training and education from the highly-trained technologically-advanced battle-hardened ZPA with the advisers themselves having served numerous tours of duty abroad in Zhouran's various military operations overseas.

The People's Republic of Zhouran hopes to see a relationship of harmony and prosperity between two great nations. And remember: Samporna is not alone in the National-Workers' Revolution Against Big-Bank Corporate Imperialism.

It came as a surprise to most that the world was more accepting towards the Jamahiriya than it had been to the original Jamahiriya. While its first international interaction as a nation was an immediate denunciation by fellow Muslim nation Khataiy; many other socialist nations would reach out their hands for Samporna. From the Pan-Asiatic States, to Aztecas Rojas and eventually Zhouran; this new Samporna would find itself many allies and partners for the future of the people.

As-Salamu Alaykom, comrades.

We are likewise similarly overjoyed and honored to accept your hand in friendship, and are proud to stand with you and call you our ally. As such, we will be proud to receive your attache; and just as proud to cooperate with you in a new era of trade. We hope only that this will further strengthen the bonds between our nations, so that we may all stand proudly against imperialism and capitalism.

We are ever grateful for the generosity and aid you have decided to show us, and we will be proud and eager to cooperate with you in the future. However, such a generous financial donation which you have suggested, I do not believe Samporna is ready for. Perhaps slowly and over a long-term duration, may we work together to accomplish goals for the common good of all our peoples.

Revolutionary Complex-01
Socialist Republic of Azerbaijan

Comrade-02 examined the latest intelligence reports, courtesy of the Commissariat of Internal Security. Clad in the black uniform ubiquitous in the new Azerbaijan, she bore no identifying markers, and made absolutely no effort to stand out. As far as any outside observer would know, she was just another worker in the mountain fortress that served as the nerve centre of the ASR, and not in fact one of the most powerful individuals in the country. One of the reports discussed the nation of Samporna, and more importantly, its recent revolution, apparently centred around the ideas of Mummar Gaddafi and his Third International Theory. Gaddafi's theory was of little interest to the Revolutionary League, who held that its religious basis and claims regarding the failure of communism invalidated it. Still, they were more socialist than capitalist, and controlled valuable assets. Perhaps they could reach an accommodation.

Complicating matters was the involvement of Khataiy. Comrade-05 had but a few months ago secured an alliance with the Arab state against Iran their mutual enemy, and now President Khairallah was condemning the new regime in Samporna. The Azeri-Khataiyi alliance was an important strategic asset, and she knew they could not afford to compromise it by attempting to establish a new alliance with Samporna. That said, there was a potentially exploitable opportunity in this. They had observed a communication from the People's Republic of Aztlān, a fellow agrarian socialist regime albeit one with which they had not yet had any contact with, and the Sampornese administration. Perhaps they could be used as back-channel for communications between the ASR and the 2nd Jamahiriya. A message would have to be sent.

SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF AZERBAIJAN

ENCR: Qara Div (highest)

Brotherly greetings from the people-masses of Azerbaijan!

We are most glad to establish communications with a fellow Revolutionary Entity dedicated to the annihilation of revisionists, social-imperialists and capitalist roaders, for few tread the path of true Socialism. It is our duty as comrade revolutionaries to render assistance unto our brothers and sisters, and we therefore offer it to you. The Socialist Republic of Azerbaijan is capable of providing you with oil and weapons technology in order to help sustain your revolution from the threat of the Americans, champions of reaction and capitalist slavery.

In return, we have one simple request: we are aware that you have established communications with the new Sampornese regime, and have offered them assistance in sustaining their own revolution. We desire to do likewise, but our current alliance of convenience with Khataiy against the state of Iran, which holds millions of our fellow Azeris, makes this proposal difficult to execute. We therefore propose that we send a diplomatic attaché with your own diplomatic mission to Samporna, and that you act as a medium for our unofficial dealings with the 2nd Jamahiriya.

Joint Strategic Command Bunker
1000 Hours

Chancellor Heinz von Rabenhaus sat in a conference room in the bunker under the Ministry of Defence for his weekly intelligence briefing with the National Security and Defence Committee. Violence in Africa, instability in South America, the usual stuff. Nothing that was threatening to his nation or his constituents. One thing, however, caught his eye. Samporna, an Islamic nation situated in Northern Borneo and a handful of islands in the Southern Philipines had experienced a coup. A new, socialist government, calling itself the "2nd Jamahiriya of Samporna" had come to power. A quite socialist government, it seemed. Reports were already coming in of companies being nationalized. Daniel bin Samporna, heir to the former Sampornese monarchy and leader of the Sampornese Royal Army had been executed by the new government.

However, it seemed that democratic institutions were being put in place. A sort of federalist, layered congress had been instituted, and it seemed that any citizen of the country could participate. At least on paper. The question of the hour was whether or not the government would honor their system. For now, anyway, it seemed as if the new regime had complete control over the nation, and that many of the country's people supported it.

The only state publically against the new regime was Khataiy, an Arab country. The socialists (or Gaddafists, as they called themselves) had support from the People's Republic of Aztlan, the People's Republic of Zhouran, and the Pan-Asiatic States. That last one caught the Chancellor's ear, as Rhunnland and the PAS had a cordial relationship. Those countries, however, were quite socialist.

The NSDC adjourned, and Rabenhaus walked back to his office in the Chancellory. It was a nice day in the capital city, and the Chancellor was happy to interact with his nation's people and environment. Even if his bodyguards with NSD1 got in the way sometimes. In any case, he got back to his office and was handed a cup of coffee by his assistant. He'd probably need it.

After thinking for a good fifteen minutes, Rabenhaus decided on Rhunnland's stance. The markets of East Asia contributed greatly to the Rhunnlandian Economy, and the PAS had a good relationship with Rhunnland as well. Because of Samporna's proximity to the trade routes in the South China Sea, and their newfound friendship with the PAS, Chancellor Rabenhaus thought it best to support the new regime. They could probably use a friend in the west. He drafted up a letter, and wired it to the Sampornese.

WIRED TO: 2nd Jamahiriya of Samporna
FROM: Federal Kingdom of Rhunnland

To whom it may concern,

We have learned of your government's recent rise to power, and congratulate you on transitioning without much bloodshed. We commend your moves towards democracy and are happy to see another member of the world community embrace a democratic system for it's people. The people and government of Rhunnland extend a hand in friendship towards the people of Samporna. We have historically had and still have economic interests in Eastern and Southeastern Asia, and hope that your nation shall become a friendly trade partner to ours.

Before any trading can occur, however, the stability of your nation must be secured, and we can support you in that if you request. Rhunnland is aware of the terrorist insurgent groups within your borders, and dislike them as much as you do. If you require any military assistance, our naval assets are ready to strike at a moment's notice.

To conclude, Foreign Minister Alfred von Halbrack is prepared to travel to Samporna for diplomatic talks, if you allow it.

Sincerely,
Chancellor Heinz von Rabenhaus

AU-79, in the vicinity of the Philippine Sea
1300 Hours

Type XII Nuclear Attack Submarine AU-79 quietly hummed along through the Philippine Sea. On a routine patrol, the crew of the sub didn't expect anything interesting to happen. The ship's radio officer was sitting at his post when a VLF message popped up on his monitor, straight from Naval Command. The message was received and decrypted, and read as follows:

RISE TO PERISCOPE DEPTH. RAISE RADIO MAST. AWAIT FURTHER ORDERS

"Conn, radio, VLF message from Command, reading 'RISE TO PERISCOPE DEPTH. RAISE RADIO MAST. AWAIT FURTHER ORDERS'"

Commander Leo Kohler heard the radio officer over the intercom and followed the orders from the transmission. It seems the patrol would be more interesting than he thought. AU-79's ballast tanks were blown, the dive planes were adjusted, and eventually, the attack sub was shallow enough to raise its mast. The radioman sent an encrypted radio message back to Command, informing them that the submarine was ready to receive orders. In addition to personal letters and other routine updates, the following message was sent back by the Navy:

FROM: NAVYCOM
TOP SECRET

TO: AU-79
ENCRYPTED

SUBJ: MISSION ORDERS
COMMUNICATION #04335.29-A

28 MAR 2019 - 1330

  1. TACTICAL SITUATION:
A SOCIALIST FACTION HAS TAKEN POWER IN THE NEARBY NATION OF SAMPORNA (REFER TO TACTICAL MAP WESPAC-34.2) AND THE SITUATION THERE IS VOLATILE. RHUNNLAND HAS DECLARED SUPPORT OF THE NEW REGIME. TERRORIST GROUPS IN SAMPORNA, HOWEVER, ARE IN OPPOSITION OF THE SOCIALISTS AND MAY TAKE UP MILITARY ACTION AGAINST THE SAMPORNAN GOVERNMENT OR RHUNNLAND. THEREFOR, YOU ARE ORDERED TO PATROL THE SOUTH CHINA SEA AND PROTECT ANY RHUNNLANDIAN TRADE SHIPS IN THE REGION.
  2. PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
PROTECT RHUNNLANDIAN MERCHANT SHIPS IN SOUTH CHINA SEA
  3. SECONDARY OBJECTIVE:
    PATROL SOUTH CHINA SEA
  4. DO NOT FIRE WEAPONS UNLESS PROVOKED
  5. MAINTAIN RADIO SILENCE UNLESS OTHERWISE INSTRUCTED

Commander Kohler read over the message and instructed his crew to lower the radio mast and dive back to AU-79's previous depth. "Navigation, conn," he said, "set course for South China Sea. Initiate patrol pattern Echo-2 upon arrival."

The submarine adjusted it's heading, and went off on it's mission.

To Mr Faatrik bin Samporna, Brotherly Leader of Samporna

We respect your humbleness and as such the financial aid will be stored until your nation is ready to receive. For now, the People's Republic of Zhouran would like to at least provide military assistance to your nation's military, from providing battle-trained military advisers to instruct and train your nation's troops to providing technological know-hows to the Sampornese defense industry. Also, just to add, the ZPA Navy currently has a large heavily-armed combat naval group, currently conducting a naval exercise in the Philippine Sea, on standby to provide military assistance to your nation.

Military analysts from the National Institute of Military Science in Ouyang highly recommend that your military bolsters national defense since your new government has only recently taken power via a coup, and it is possible that a counter-coup can still happen from dissenting elements of the Sampornese government and military. Not everyone in Samporna might agree to the current ruling government.

FOREIGN INTELLIGENCE DIRECTORATE, REVNAMI, NEW HAYESALIA

The 5am Top Secret General brief was as double edged as a sword could get. A role that represented of excellence as an intelligence analysis in the intelligence department of the Republic & Kingdom of New Hayesalia, as only senior and well-performing analysts received the distinction of duty in its preparation. Of course the graveyard shifts were a pain in the ass - that, and the more senior 9am team often used their brief as a convenient subsidy for their own work.

The brief, largely for intelligence stakeholders in New Hayesalia’s eastern provinces who were a few hours ahead in time, provided timely and useful daily information with a distinctly foreign affairs edge. This meant that their group of interested people was somewhat limited - their brief was also incorporated into the Cabinet Briefing Authority’s own regular briefs for general audiences such as political leaders - but the people that needed it were thankful for the more specific and useful background information.

Don Manrell, the lead briefer today, had just finished the morning’s brief across a variety of secure video and data links, coming in a minute shy of his allotted half hour. His last major piece had been on the “Green Tide” affecting the new Jamahiriya in Samporna. It had been previously addressed in other such briefings as part of the “Other Affairs” section that gave a quick and nasty overview of less significant, but important enough, geopolitical events. Often it was about as useful as a Union 24 news report on the subject, just sharpened for minds that could grasp the connotations of the issue with political and military success. “Most of them, anyway” mused Don, after ending the brief, with a quiet smile.

The coup d’état experienced in the smaller state had attracted a bigger fish’s attention, in the form of the Khataiyi religious and political leadership - not that there was really much delineation between the two things. They’d called for an armed struggle and development of a training campaign to wrest control back, but in the name of an Islamist government. This was of obvious attention to the scattering of Intelligence Corps agencies that involved themselves with counter-terrorism, and of course within a country as large as New Hayesalia, it could only be assumed there would be some Sampornan expats or sympathisers with half a mind or more to follow up on that offer. The New Hayesalia Government, like any, struggled with terrorism’s modern face - yet progressive policies and an effective security apparatus had generally fared well against these challenges.

“Update on the Samporno” another member of the team said, referring to an official document but employing an obviously unofficial name.

“What’s the go, Sam?” Don replied, taking a gulp of water after his talk-fest.

“The Zhouranese have gotten involved. They’ve identified political support for the rebels, which isn’t quite in keeping with their usual way of doing diplomacy.”

“I see.”

A pause filled the room as Don formulated a quick mental pathway.

“So all being said the rebels are twice as international recognised as they were a few hours ago. That makes for a harder time for us to just sweep the bastards under the rug.”

“You always get a peanut gallery of nations that will recognise any two-bit thug having a gun in the right presidential palace as being the god-given leader of men. Half a dozen countries think the Communist party is the rightful government here. Why is this any different?”

“Playing the devil’s advocate is fun, Sam, but we try to let the contributing analysts have those fights. It’s ok, but something to be aware of as you get more experience in the team.” Sam Pattellar was indeed the newest man in the team, good at his usual job though he was.

“Oil is a big driver of course,” Don said, reading over the dossier appropriate to this matter. “Promising $9.4 billion to the cause and sending military aide is a much stranger thing to see though, especially since the Pan Asian States already got a buyer’s deal on the stuff. It’s unlikely the Zhouranese are just doing this for good money.”

“So what are they doing it for?”

“Same thing we make economically shitty deals. To make a friend with benefits.” Don confirmed, wearily, closing the dossier.

“Sure enough. You’d think these countries would learn not to sleep with two-faced people by now, though.”

The two men took coffees just delivered outside the locked door, and prepared to finish the last 90 minutes of their shifts.

180nm NORTH-EAST OF PORT EASTGATE, ROYAL SEA, NEW HAYESALIA

New Hayesalia’s Navy was a functional necessity. A country formed of thousands upon thousands of islands, her external borders were effectively the 12 nautical miles that separated territorial sea from otherwise. A large and efficient Coast Guard took responsibility for security and law enforcement within the territorial sea border, and up to 188 nautical miles outside of it. This put the NHS Admiral’s, so named for the city and not the rank, well within the territory of the Coast Guard.

Following her stint in dry dock on the eastern side of the country after a particularly bad entanglement with a loose fishing net, just a day after her departure on exercises, she had been recovered and ordered to rejoin a small patrol group trading in for another Decatur-class frigate that had remarkably met the same fate, and was now being tugged back into a dock in Sharles.

The crew of Admiral’s, under the command of Commander Deepika Kapoor, was making fast time to rejoin the small patrol group, acting both as an exercise for larger patrols and a genuine step in protecting New Hayesalia’s massive merchant marine.

The time had just clicked over to 11am, and the Captain was spending it in conference with her Executive Officer and the ship’s Warrant Officer considering what the most appropriate post-lunch drill to run would be. Man overboard drills were always fun, but that would slow them down - a battle stations drill would instead be put into play to give the ship’s crew of 180 a good test in the art of seamanship.

A knock at the door interrupted them, and a Midshipman - a young officer recruit on his placement from the Navy Academy in Retalimora, entered with a well-practiced salute, returned with a sit-fast.

“Ma’am,” the Midshipman began, “the office of the watch is reporting a vessel in distress ten nautical miles from our position.”

The call was met with the Commander donning her white beret as she made speed from the cabin to the captain’s chair, where the crew were called to her attention as she demanded full information.

“The oil tanker Moonrose has called distress. She’s saying that there are suspected pirates aboard, but they’re not sure how they got there. She’s 10 nautical miles to our north at 10 degrees, ma’am.” The officer of the watch, Lieutenant Randall Grave, reported the situation with immediacy in his voice.

“Where’s the Coast Guard?” she asked immediately.

“The NHCG Cape March is the closest but she’s 20 miles north of him, and their helicopter is getting a rotor blade fixed. They already asked us to check it out.”

“All hands flying stations.”

“Aye ma’am all hands flying stations!” The Lieutenant confirmed, before piping the order down the ship-wide announcement system. Immediately, the Navy crew responsible for the ship’s EC-725 Caracal helicopter set about their work, with the support crew members readying the aircraft itself and elevating it from the stealthy concealed hangar to the flight deck. The officers that would fly her - Peakedcap, as they called it, as the top of the Admiral’s supposed accessories - ran to the bridge to receive orders as well.

As this occurred, a similar order was passed for a boarding team to standby - armed and armoured. The ship was used to serving an anti-piracy role... but so close to home shores?

More radio details filtered through to the warship, as the Caracal began peeping over the ship’s deck. It was unsure how many people were assaulting the crew of the oil tanker, a Sampornan flagged vessel, with a crew of 30. Only 22 were accounted for, and a few of those were either dead or injured it appeared.

As the Admiral’s leadership team discussed the situation, a New Hayesalia’s Air Force P-8 Poseidon was being scrambled from north eastern Montmaray to interrogate the vessel. They would arrive on station after the ship’s own helicopter, but they would provide a welcome over watch and potentially distraction for the pirates.

A pair of Goldfish RHIBs were now being winched alongside the frigate, sporting two crews of 12 each for full firepower and effect. The boats could easily reach 75 knots in good conditions, but on the open sea they would be striking for 30. That would still get them on target within 20 minutes. The crew were armed with a selection of equipment. This included a Model 9 Defender pistol for every crew member, plus the requisite Model 10 sub machine gun and in some cases a Model 12 Scattergun for extra firepower at close ranges. The boats themselves had no additional weapons mounted, so it was up to the pair of boarding parties to protect them on the way to the ship. They would mount a wire ladder to make the journey from sea to deck and it would be a tight trip the entire way up.

As the two vessels came closer, the grey naval helicopter netted overhead at five times their speed, the loadmaster’s machine gun trained forwards onto the tanker over the horizon. Armed combatants on the deck would be targeted and more likely than not, eliminated.

As the helicopter went overhead, identifying the large commercial vessel, she noted no souls on the deck. Her electro optical camera skewed, searching the vessel and the bridge, looking for any sign of humans.

Without warning, the low flying helicopter was rocked by a red hot blast, the tanker detonating in a section of her storage. The rest of the loaded tanker also blasted apart. The helicopter, by either shrapnel or blast, stalled and fell to the sea. The crew, equally surprised, reacted as best they could to the situation, implementing their HUET training and conducting a quick escape.

The Goldfish boats were still as some distance, and were safe from the effects of the blast, though the shockwave still rocked the crew in their chairs. Without a radio return, the helicopter was presumed down, and one of the vessels was redeployed to provide first aid and rescue.

The water around the ship was slick with oil, with spot fires blazing eerily across the waves. The helicopter pilot, a Lieutenant, had possessed the consciousness to dive his helicopter as far from the vessel’s inevitable fiery doom as possible, thus saving the crew from the oil slick nearby. He and his injured three colleagues were pulled from the water and brought immediately back to the Admiral’s, where a Coast Guard V-280 would be rushing for an emergency pickup and drop-off to the nearest hospital.

The other boat remained at a distance as the P-8 loomed overhead. The wreck was an environmental disaster in the potential making, and thusly, the New Hayesalia Environmental Protection Agency activated a portion of their fleet of Maritime Spill Response Vessels, to be accompanied by investigators from the Navy, the Maritime Police, and the Transport Incident Investigatiom Board - Sea (TTIB-S).

There was no premonition of political ramifications as yet. What had happened to the Moonrose would escalate to a matter of international intrigue.

Senior Marshal Kang Yingyong - People's Republic of Zhouran

"I told you there would be more attention towards Samporna once a major global power such as us start recognizing the new regime there" Senior Marshal Kang Yingyong said to Senior Marshal Su Rongyu, the Chairman of the People's Defense Council. The two veteran military officers were discussing about the implications of Zhouranese backing towards the new Sampornese government. In fact, the other states that recognize and back the new Sampornese government have never offered aid as generous as the one offered by the Zhouranese, but there is a specific reason for it.

"You do know that what we're doing is upsetting the balance of regional security" Su Rongyu told the Big Boss before taking a puff from his Zhouranese cigar.

"Uh, balance of regional security" replied Kang. "The only balance of regional security is defending our national interests, it's still better than European Western powers intervening in the internal affairs of African and Asian countries".

"You do know that we also intervene in the affairs of both Europe and even the US, right?" the Battlehound replied to the Big Boss. "There's a reason why we have a 'Pivot To The West' policy, sir, and it's to contend the diminishing influence of the West and reinforce the backing of an Asian Century, what we're doing in Samporna shouldn't even concern us considering that we already have the South China Sea secured and not to mention the Pacific is basically our military playground".

"This is within geopolitics and I can tell you why it's important we back up the new Sampornese government whether other nations like it or not" Kang Yingyong angrily replies to Su Rongyu. The Chairman of the PDC, unaware of Kang Yingyong's true motives towards Samporna, asks "then what the hell are we doing in Samporna if it's not about the oil?"

"It was never about oil or gas" the Big Boss replied with a smug smirk across his face. "Other nations have already fallen into the silly idea that the People's Republic supports the new Sampornese government because of ideological sympathy or Sampornese oil & gas, but the true motive is beyond the silly basic black-&-white thinking of dogmatic governments worldwide". Su Rongyu, still confused as to what Kang was saying, simply went "what?" Kang continued on; "Samporna is just a distraction, that's all, we have hundreds of thousands of troops stationed overseas spanning from Southeast Asia to Africa to Southern Europe and all the way to Latin America, we have been conducting overseas wars for decades and it is an imperative that we maintain our status as the alternative power to the Eurocentric West". Su Rongyu had a confused look on his face, one eyebrow raised. "So... you're saying that Samporna is a distraction to what?" he asked, to which Kang replied "a distraction of geopolitical scale, a distraction for the wars we're currently engaging abroad, a distraction for Zhouranese resource harvesting in impoverished nations, a distraction for those 'secret wars' we're currently waging abroad", with secret wars being a euphemism for overseas highly-clandestine spec-ops black operations conducted by Zhouranese special forces. Su Rongyu continued sitting on the chair, smoking his cigar before asking the Big Boss the simple questions of "what and why?" The Battlehound himself wasn't fully understanding. "We're already pressuring the US into containment, challenging the Chinese in the South China Sea and keeping the Russians on the defensive, are these not enough of a distraction?"

Kang Yingyong chuckled for a second. "This is MY personal motive, no one knows that except for you, just let other countries ridiculously make up silly conclusions without properly understanding how Zhouranese real-politics work" the Big Boss replied to Su Rongyu. "Geopolitics can work like an enigma if you understand how other countries think, other countries will think we're supporting Samporna because of oil and ideological sympathy, and if that's the damn case then maybe we should be singing Hymn of the National Workers and tell the bloody world that Captain Zhouran has come to save the fucking day all while having that combat naval group sail towards the eastern coast of Samporna, then the UN will come to present medals and play orchestral music because the day is saved".

Su Rongyu remained sitting, confused but also unsurprised as Kang Yongying is known for harboring a very peculiar and eccentric behavior behind closed doors. "Sir, just take at this file from the Ministry of National Security" he added before standing up and leaving. It was a file document from the MNS, specifically a report on international reactions towards the new Sampornese government and other covert details. Kang Yingyong took a puff from his cigar and grabbed the file before opening it to read the report. "Huh, bloody played the world like a damn fiddle" Kang whispered to himself as he smirks with intense smug. He knew that no one else except for Su Rongyu is aware of his true motive, and he also knew that Su Rongyu, being a pragmatist, would be more concerned about military operations abroad than the true motivation on the Samporna Affair.
