Okinawa Ocean City Hab Module Sinks
OKINAWA - The prototype housing module constructed as part of the Okinawa Ocean City project declared an emergency and sank shortly after sunrise this morning. All crew aboard the vessel were rescued from their life-rafts by coast guard vessels supervising the build. The OOC Special Concern issued a statement this morning stating that their work, which is intended to help alleviate the pressures of the mounting housing crisis, will continue, though some time would be required before an adjusted schedule could be announced. Iguchi Out as Finance Minister on 4th Straight Quarter of Losses
KYOTO - Iguchi Shinzo is out as Finance Minister, having tendered his resignation this morning before a meeting of the full cabinet together with the Shibata Emperor. Iguchi, a former VP for Finance with Iguchi Heavy Manufacturing, had been losing favour with the ruling Liberal Democratic Party over what Prime Minister Iwata Ao called his "Johnny Good-Luck" attitude toward the current recession. The move came just two days after Iguchi announced that the Ministry of Finance would be lowering the prime lending rate to help tackle the recession.
