Bus Stop
Damien Phylum

An middle aged man approached the bus stop bench where another man was already seated, obviously awaiting the next bus to take him to wherever. He personally hated waiting upon the bus, yet it was comfortable, safe and most importantly - free. This benefits offset the disadvantage of waiting for it every now and then. The man had dark brown hair with a few grey hair popping up on the side from underneath his brown flat cap which he was wearing. His most outstanding feature however, was the brown trench coat he was wearing. This was considered an odd clothing item since Port Ember was so hot and humid all the time.

The man took a seat next to the already seated man, and noticed he was listening to music through his earphones. Not odd at all- Port Emberians in general loved music - and hated small talk with strangers. In fact, Port Emberians were infamous for being a bit rude. This middleaged man was an oddball however in did not conform to stereotypes. He looked straight at the man seated next to him, until eye contact was made. He quickly used the oppertunity to start a conversation "Nice coat there mate!"

Kiana & Caja with Tim

Tim's taxi eventually stopped outside The Cutlass. The restuarant was constructed from wood pillars and had a grass roof, with simple yet comfortable furniture. The restuarant is completely build upon the beach. Granted, the exterior of the restuarant was not fancy or truly impressive, yet it was popular amongst tourists andocals alike due to its relaxing paradise atmosphere and the reputation of their quality food and drink.

Tim led the girls towards the entrance of the establishment, greeting the waitress waiting for new customers at the entrance. Tim spoke a few words with her, speaking in esperanto, and being replied to in the same tounge. All Port Emberians spoke both english and esperanto equally well, as it was both part of the school curriculum and both was recognised as the official languages of the Republic, yet esperanto was the prefered language at business establishments.

The waitress nodded and spoke to the girls "Good morning lassies, welcome to The Cutlass - please follow me.." Tim quickly added "Your in good hands.. I'll wait at the car. Goodluck!" Tim turned around and walked back towards his taxi.

The waitress led the girls to a table, where a young blonde girl was seated. On their approach, she stood up awaiting arrival. She wad quite a beautifull girl, with long bleach blonde hair and green eyes. She was wearing a modern straw hat, blue and black striped shirt with a very tight jean, rounded off with high heels.

As the girls arrived at the table, she closed in and gave them both a peck kiss on the cheek. "Name's Emily Hunter, its a pleasure to meet ya' lassies. Thank you for meeting me, and please take a seat." She gestured towards two chairs at the table. "Anything to drink? I'll have a Ember Coctail please?" Directed at the waitress who led the girls to the table.

Kiana and Caja. The Cutlass.
Tim had delivered them to what basically amounted to a beach bar - an uncommon setting, even for an informal business meeting, but certainly not an unwelcome one, quite on the contrary.
Their prospective partner was rather young and, if Caja was asked, quite attractive.
"The pleasure is ours, Miss Hunter.", Kiana replied, "I am Kiana Rúisc of the Tribe of Waterford, my colleague here is Caja Rois of the Tribe of Fermanagh. We work for the Mangaire Dealership Company Limited of Traverse." She smiled at the waitress. "For me, a whiskey on the rocks, please."
"An Ember Cocktail actually sounds very interesting.", Caja said, being in an adventurous mood, "One for me, too, please."
When the waitress had gone, Kiana leaned forwards. "So...", she began with a smile, "We heard an interesting rumour from a shared friend of ours..."

Aurora Alce. Bazaar.
Where would a merchant go in a massive city such as Port Ember? Well, of course to where people traded goods and services! Get a feel for the market, the available products, everything.
So, my bus ride with the silent bodyguard assigned to me ended at the Bazaar, the massive open air market which was supposed to sell everything and anything under the sun and which was also frequented by the locals as an added bonus.
It was also open-air, which was fine by me.
I took a sip of my waterbottle and looked forward.
"They don't do things halfway, one has to give them that.", Yaro said in Lutetiian and I nodded.
A true statement if there ever was one!
"Let's go in!", I replied with enthusiasm. Let's get a feel for the market and have fun while doing so!
I play PT, MT and a bit FT. I am into character-RPs.
My people are called the Selkie, the nation is usually called the Free Lands in MT-settings. Thanks.

The Cutlass
Kiana & Caja with Emily Hunter

Emily smiled, looking intently at her two new table guests. She was quite pleased that both were young, around her age if she were to guess, and very attractive. She liked working with beautifull people, as she was quite a beautifull lass herself, and that removed the 'intimidation by beauty factor'. She then replied, her tone quite relaxed and calm, with a very slight sea brease playing with her bleach blonde hair.

"I can imagine. James is an.. interesting fellow. Woke me up at 4am to arrange this meeting. And to be quite frank.. this is not how I conduct business.. I normally arrange meetings two weeks in advance in order to properly research prospective partners. Therefore I am totally in the dark regarding your background and intentions.. But its allright.. a favour for a friend and such." Emily smiled again softly.

The waitress returned to the table and placed an expensive scottish whiskey on the rocks in front of Kiana, and an Emberian Coctail in front of Emily and Caja. The coctail was a masterfull mix of a local emberian spiced rum, strawberry juice and a few cherries. Topped off with a small umbrella offcourse. The waitress walked off again back to tend to her other clients in the restuarant, whom was not a lot to be honest.

"So.. business.. The rumours is indeed founded on truth. I am strongly in process of establishing the first gunshop chain in Port Ember, and to be honest - am nearly ready. I am establishing shops all accross the Islands, in all four cities. I have commissioned the construction or revamping of a total of 200 shops accross the Republic, and they are days from being completed. Hell I even hired the managers of the shops already.

My shops will sell arms, focussed on self defence and sports shooting. Each shop also has an underground firing range. Lastly we will also offer gunsmith services - repairs and modifications, and sell all sorts of equipment and mods. So thats my new venture in a short summary. I have managed to acquire the funding to build and fit all the shops, so I dont need a co-owner. What I do need, is a head office.. and a foreign weapon supplier.."

Emily took a long sip before continuing. "So time to spill your beans lassies?"

Grand Bazaar
Aurora Alce

The Grand Bazaar was a somewhat odd place. It resembled the free open air markets of the old world, yet it was amist one of the most technologically advanced citied in the world.

At the entrance of the Grand Bazaar stood a large statue of a women dressed in typical 1600 dress, clearly a pirate. The letters engraved underneath identified the women as Lilly Black.

A large map was painted on a board at the entrance, making navigating a bit easier, since the Bazaar was simply massive. Kilometers of kilometers in every direction was packed with stalls and vendors.

The board read as follows:

- The Quarters are numbered from left to right.

Quarter 1: Fresh Food Quarter. This quarter contains stalls who sells fresh raw food obtained from either local sources, or freshly imported. This includes fruits, vegetables, meats, fish and seafood to name only a few.

Quarter 2: Arts & Crafts Quarter. This quarter is dedicated to vendors selling all kinds of art and crafts, either locally produced or inported. This includes clothing of all kinds.

Quarter 3: Home Quarter. This quarter is dedicated to all household goods, including any furniture and household goods imaginable. This includes locally produced and inported goods.

Quarter 4: Technology Quarter. This quarter is dedicated to all technology goods, ranging from TV's to computers, drones and robots and much more.

Quarter 5: Represantatives Quarter. Includes sales reps from large businesses from all around the islands to market their companies.

Quarter 6: Tradesmen Quarter. Includes stalls of tradesmen who creates everything with their hands, from weapons to cars.

Quarter 7: Misc Quarter. Includes all stalls and vendors whom does not fit in the above categories.

Quarter 8: Entertainment Quarter. Includes stalls who sells prepared food and drink to live music entertainment.

Sir William Southall

Having recieved his package graciously and tipped both the porter and the courier with parcels of ten NSD each. After a glass of champagne, he decided to get out and about, to see what Port Ember had to offer. He dressed in tweed trousers and waistcoat along with a white shirt with a regular turn-down collar. Over the outfit he pulled on his overcoat and placed his homburg atop his head. As the weather seemed most agreeable, he decided to forgo his umbrella and stepped out of the Upperdeck as he was, thanking the porter for holding the door open. Once outside, he hailed a taxi and clambered inside the car.

"Now then, old fellow." He said upon entering. "I'm looking for somewhere to have a drink and perhaps breakfast. I shall trust your instincts, sir." Southall smiled and nodded, as if he were placing his very life in the hands of a trusted friend, rather than simply his hopes for a good meal in the hands of a stranger.

Sir William Southall

The taxi driver looked and listened attentively at his new passenger. The man who entered his cab was obviously a foreigner, and the driver was trusted with delivering his client to an agreeable location.

So the cab driver summarised his passenger as a true gentleman type, and quite wealthy and educated, based on his dress and words choice. He was also most probaly not from a tropical island area. Therefore thr cqb driver decided to take his passenger to The Cutlass. It was a fine place, beach restuarant for the paradise atmosphere, who served brilliant coctails and great breakfast.

Kiana and Caja. The Cutlass.
The whiskey, Kiana took a sip while Emily spoke, while listening to her with great care and attention, was quite good. Better then the stuff from last night.
When she came to business, both Selkie had to smile slightly - straight and to the point. That was for the best in business, flowery words could be spoken afterwards.
Two-hundred shops was a number, which could not be underestimated, especially since the two of them thought, that it would be more in the ballpark of twenty at most. But they would manage, as they always did.
In the end, Kiana decided for the direct approach.
"Our company would be highly interested in being that foreign supplier. We have a wide range of firearms on offer, suited for sports shooting and self-defense. Allow me to say it right now, though, we sell a lot of larger and heavier weapons as well, should you want to expand into that market.", she explained, reached into her jacket, taking out a USB-Flashdrive, "If you have a laptop on your hands, I can show you our portfolio, with the option to get samples here to Port Ember by the evening."
They should have taken one of theirs alone.

Aurora Alce. Bazaar.
They were certainly better organized then some of the other markets I had been at in my time, that was for sure. I looked at the board, Yaro standing behind me and looking at the crowds and decided: Quarter 1 would be our first destination.
Fresh Food, or rather cuisine in general, told much about people, more so then their art - or rather, wasn't cooking an art in and of itself? No one knew... in any case, that was supposed to be our first destination, maybe even to get a small fruit basket for our own consumption and to see, what wines they offered here.
Our niche, maybe, not only for show, but also for real.
I smiled at Yaro, who followed me.
The interesting part about that man was, he not only guarded my body because he had been ordered to...

Evan and Penny - at home

As the clock circled ever close to the time that the pick up to the embassy is due to arrive, Evan goes about the task of getting ready, donning a very smart and expensive black suit with a white shirt and a black tie, even his lip ring comes out which doesnt happen too often, he does however keep the stud in his tongue.

"Well?" asks Evan, emerging from the bathroom

Penny smiled approvingly, "we taking Tiz?"

"nah, keep him here i think" replies Evan, glancing at the clock

"we may have the lift arriving soon and hopefully it will be a plain car, last thing I want is the unwanted attention of the press if we end up being picked up in a marked car, imagine what our neighbours will say as they have probably NO idea who we are, and thats how its best be" replies Penny, stirring a coffee.

Meanwhile at the embassy

A knock at the guest room of Prime Minister Ian Gordon "Sir?" *tap tap tap*

A gravelly voice replies, "Aye?"

"can you go to the Ambassador's office please" comes the reply from the messenger sent by Nick who was going over the final details as the president is expected to arrive soon, the Embassy itself is a flurry of activity and the catering staff are well on the way of preparing the banquet to be held in the great hall under the galleries of the grand staircase. As for Wallace, he's not too far from the kitchens looking as hopeful as ever!

Kevin Lee - Upperdeck Hotel

Kevin stayed for most of the morning in the Upperdeck restaurant while he browsed many backwater websites and did some business. There was a group in the Gobi desert who were buying drone launched ATGMs that had contacted him. There was also a couple despot leaders in third world countries looking to get their hands on weapons ranging from AK47s to 40mm grenade launchers. Each one of these contracts were fulfilled by Kevin and his network. As he worked to move instruments of death to the ends of the earth, he periodically looked at the clock waiting for when he was to meet with Johnny Azula.

Sir William Southall

Upon pulling up at The Cutlass, William Southall beamed with happiness. A fine beach, paradisiacal theme and a marvellous atmosphere. Southall thanked the taxi driver profusely and paid him a bounty of thirty Lucans in Vionna-Frankenlischian notes, not accepted in many international shops but exceedingly useful for its black market potential. With a smile and no small amount of flourish, Southall stepped out of the taxi. He strode into The Cutlass with just the right stature to show his position as a nobleman, but not quite haughty enough to look overly arrogant. Once in the building, he waited patiently for assistance.

The Cutlass
Kiana & Caja with Emily Hunter

Emily smiled when the girls reacted quickly and smoothly. She jumped them directly with the meat of the business talk on purpose - no one ever expected a meeting to go that way. The girls were not caught off guard, so they obviously knew their work. First test passed.

She took a sip from her coctail before replying calmly "Aye, thats good. There is definitely a market for larger hardware, but we will centralise that in the main shop and on demand for the rest of the shops."

She whipped out her computer tablet from her purse in a quick fashion, and plugged in the given USB. Right lovies, walk me through the goods?

The Cutlass
Sir William Southall

Sir William was quickly greeted by a young beautifull waitress with lomg brown hair and green eyes. To be frank, all the personnell of The Cutlass was quite young and attractive. The owner of The Cutlass knew a simple and ancient business secret - young beauty attracts customers. Simple as that.

The waitress quickly escorted the Gentleman to a table under roof, just opposite the table which seated Kiana, Caja and Emily. Sir William was handed a menu, and the waitress awaited his drink order patiently.

Grand Bazaar
Aurora Alce

The fresh food quarter contained literally thousands of stalls which sold fresh food. The most abundant was the local raw foods found abundantly on the islands: acerola cherry, avocado, banana, bitter orange, breadfruit, carambola (starfruit), chironja (orangelo—a combination of orange and pomelo), coconut, cucumber, frambuesa (raspberries), grapefruit, guanábana (soursop), guava, guineos niño (ladyfinger bananas), jobo (yellow mombin), key lime, lemon, lime, mamey (apple-like), quenepa (lychee-like), Mandarin orange, mango, nance (wild cherry), okra, orange, papaya, passion fruit, pineapple, pomarosa (tropical apple), pomegranate, sea grape, tamarind, tomato and watermelon. Other fruits and vegetables not found on the island naturally was also found, imported fresh on a daily basis. These food were well known for being cheap and of extremely fresh quality. The same went for the seafood, including any type one could imagine. One could easily spot world renowned chefs purchasing stock here for their restuarants.

The wine selection was a bit more.. sad. The local wine production has never been taken serious, and the imported wines was not of the highest quality - those was only imported directly by the reputable wine houses. There was still a massive variety available, but these were of everyday drinking quality, and not luxury wines.

Sir William Southall

Well, wasn't the day getting better by the second? Sir William Southall found himself thinking almost exactly the same thing as he was led to his table by an extraordinarily pretty young waitress. He considered his options carefully as he studied the drinks menu. "Erm..." He vocalised, not wanting to look an alcoholic by ordering something hard with breakfast, but also not wanting to break tradition with a soft drink. "Tea, please." Southall finally decided, "And a bottle of white wine, the best you have."

Kiana and Caja. The Cutlass.
More guests came in, but the Selkie were unpertubed as Caja moved closer to Emily to walk her through everything.
"Alright.", she began and tapped two icons, which opened the Sports Weapons Catalogue. "Let's start with Sports Weapons, they are the more fun part. Now, we have a variety of old and ancient sports weapons to the newest of the new on offer." She indicated to the image of a young woman in a green uniform with shoulder pads and a few other additions and a rifle of positively ancient design. "This is the Gabha R-3, the first breechloader entering serial production in what we today know as the Free Lands in 1842. Bolt-action, no magazine, four kilograms in weight. While Gabha itself does not produce them anymore, three small factories do as some units of the Younger Militia still do use them. And they also produce a small surplus for huntsmen, sports riflemen and collectors. They would be an ancient example."
She indicated to the image of a young man, blonde and with a thick jacket with fur lining standing in what might as well pass as a snowstorm. He carried a short-looking rifle. "This is the Gabha G-101, the other end of the spectrum. A gas-operated, rotating bolt marksman and sports rifle chambered for the 7.62x51 millimetre cartridge. Ten to twenty round box magazine, four kilograms heavy, can be mounted with optical sights. They are used by Water Polices in the Free Lands."
There were half a dozen other images present in this category as well, one of them even being a car.
"As said, if you want to try any one of them out, give me a shout and they'll be in Port Ember by the evening.", she added, smiling, "After all, if the seller isn't convinced by the product, how should he convince a customer?"

Aurora Alce. Bazaar.
The selection of fresh fruit looked wonderfully, especially the locally produced ones.
It was, as was the general gist I got, tropical, which was not too much of a surprise considering the temperatures. I bought two oranges, one for me and one for Yaro, and a whole basket of local fruits. A large basket, too, which I planned on bringing with me for my boss and the Lustro's crew to enjoy.
Yaro took care of carrying that.
Then we came to the wine section.
Wine is one of the products, where price and quality correlated most of the time, and daily drinking wines were usually cheap, at least back home. And by my standards from back home, most, if not all of the wines presented here were of everyday drinking quality. And while these wines were of reputable houses and quite plenty, I quickly saw the lack of quality, luxury wines.
Our gap in the market, I would say.
I went ahead and bought one of the most expensive bottles available and one of the cheapest for testing.
I play PT, MT and a bit FT. I am into character-RPs.

Cerìz Kozavices, ferry Trapàc, 12 mi/19 km southeast of Port Ember, a day ago

The Cappuccinan ferry Trapàc had been sailing for several weeks along with a fleet of nine other ferried from it's homeland towards Port Ember which the passengers were told would be their salvation from a life of destitution. The voyage was beginning to take it's toll, however, as they supplies ran low and the sight of miles of water wore on the nerves.

Cerìz stood looking out at the ocean, her arms rested on the guardrail, she was definitely amongst those who were growing quite tired of staring at water...smelling salt...

"Cerìz Maria, vol tu u sandvic?" (Cerìz want a sandwich?), turning around Cerìz saw Jan, the ship's capitan and leader of the ferry fleet. He extended his hand out to her bearing a sandwich with a slice of salami and some cheese on it.

"Ne, kwa ig vol s'vizo ne de mar nevos revos. Kan ve nu afar n'de Port Ember? Id ke ve nu det za, nu vok ne li linga! Nu av ne denie! (No, want I want is to never see the ocean again! When will we arrive at Port Ember? And what will we do there, we have no money!), said Cerìz voicing her apprehension to the voyage rather planely.

"We can do anything we can imagine there, it is a land of endless opportunity my child. Most of the passengers aboard the vessels in this fleet are young like yourself, you can find good honest work.", Jan smiled as he patted the teenager on the shoulder

Cerìz scoffed at the notion of "honest work", "So we were forced to come along just to become squares and cogs in a machine? We've been stuck on these boats for nearly a month, I could've been back home making bank this whole time! But now I'll be trapped in a country with soft people who can't tell if I'm saying one or two? Fuck this shit! Eating basic ass sandwiches day in day out", she snatched the sandwich out of Jan's hand and took a bite out of it.

Chuckling, Jan shook his head, "I figured as much, you're a skadrista. Back home the state of things made such groups an inevitably, you youth desired wealth and power in our oppressive society. This journey to Port Ember is to relieve you from that life, it is a land of endless opportunity and wealth."

"Look", he pointed towards the horizon, over which the Port Ember skyline began to show itself. "That is our destination, the nation that shall be our salvation."

Kevin Lee - Upperdeck Hotel

Without looking up, Kevin and the mysterious man both heard an audible click of the safety on Kevin's unmarked CSP-21 under the table. With a friendly smile he spoke,

"Good morning sir, ignore that but how can I be of service?"

Damien saw the man approach and figured it was just another bus patron. But as he saw him begin to talk he quickly removed his ear bud, in time to catch the end and make out the gist. "Oh, thank you." He said as he adjusted his collar, "It was my fathers. Yours is quite nice also." He finished his response and let his earbuds dangle under his coat to protect them and quickly pauses his music. He also adjusted the shoulder strap on the rifle before setting it down against the wall, still holding the strap tightly in his hand, Just in case.

"Such a beautiful city too, it almost reminds me of home when i look at it all from here. " He said as he motions to the bulk of the city on the horizon.

The gorgeous young waitress swiftly brought her patron the ordered drinks - a pot of redbush tea, which the waitresses always laughed about in secret - tea was considered a drink of weaklings in Port Ember. A bottle of very luxurious white wine was also served. The young lassie awaited the Gentleman's food order.

The fruits which Aurora bought, both the oranges and the tropical fruit basket - was exrtremely fresh and tasty. Port Ember was well known for its quality tropical fruits, and it held a very large export market world wide. The wines she bought however was a slightly different story. The cheap bottle was nicknamed Sailor's Wine for a simple reason - it was cheap, quite wretchedly tasting, yet made the consumer drunk as a sailor with barely one glass. The more expensive wine was a lot better, nothing to actually complain about, yet was far from being considered a luxury wine.

The ferry fleet closing in on Port Ember was not surprise to the local authorities. The Port Ember Security Forces Navy has tracked its movement long before they entered the national waters of Port Ember. One could say what one wanted about the nation of Port Ember, but no one, not even their enemies would dare insult their navy. The navy was world leaders with regards to their vessels, intelligence, training, innovation and discipline.

Due to the size of the convoy, the navy decided not to board and search the vessels, but rather allow them to dock and then carry out the neccesary procedures. Their vessels was contacted via radio however, informing them where exactly to make for harbour - with a number of warships keeping a keen eye on the ferries.

The man in the suit's eyes shot wide open when he heard the safety switch of the pistol, which was followed with a broad smile before he spoke:

"I assure you Mr Lee - I am not a threat to your immediate life. By the way, I'm a weapon's fanatic myself. If I were forced to guess, that sounds like a CSP 21? I would know since I own one myself you know. Fine taste Mr Lee!" The man chuckled as he finished his sentence.

The waitress brought two cup of coffee's to the table, placing on in front of the suited man, and the other in front of Kevin.

The suited man reached for his inner jacket, and took something out of his inner jacket, and placed said something on the table in front of Kevin. It was a Secret Service Badge.

"Agent Carlston at your service."

With the faintest smile Kevin put the safety back on before slipping the pistol back into the holster on his waistband. Looking at the badge he had an internal sinking feeling since usually when a govt. agency knew you were in a country while on private business, they also knew what you were selling or transporting. Without giving it to much thought he replied.

"Pleasure to meet you Agent Carlston, how may I be of service?"

Caja and Kiana. The Cutlass.
Kiana gave a smile.
"Make it five and it shall be done!", she said and nodded, "As for the ability to supply your shops, pending sales figures and demand, I am quite certain, that our suppliers will be able to keep up, unless something goes terribly, terribly wrong." She raised a hand. "Both of our main suppliers, KGS and Gabha, supply the armed forces of their respective homecountries. I am, however, certain, that factories elsewhere will be able to pick up the slack."
She let a beat pass, thinking to herself, that she already knew, someone, who would accompany the shipment... several someones, actually.
"As for the smaller suppliers, I'm quite certain in their abilities as well.", she added with a small smile, "Except for military surplus, of which we have quite a bit as well."

Aurora Alce. Bazaar.
I did not yet have any idea about the quality of the wine, but the fruit basket looked tasty - and the orange was wonderful!
I believe, that I saw some fruit with the sign of 'Porto Ambrace' in supermarkets back home every now and then, but I never really gave it much thought. Well, now was the time to actually go and taste them!
Besides, the citrus fruits looked delicious, too... if they passed the checks, we might wanted to think about buying stock and selling it to the Selkie, they always needed lemons for their teeth-destroying lemonade of sugary sugar with sugar on top.
I didn't drink much of that during my trip there with my boss, but the two bottles I had were sufficient. The Selkie were, apparently, really into brushing their teeth, but whatever got their boats floating... (Please imagine me shrugging here at this point.)
In any case, me and Yaro went further into the Bazaar, towards the Quarter 2, Arts and Crafts, which included clothing... well, I am a girl.

Agent Carlston carried a cocky smile on his face. He imagined that he saw a bit of surprise and even worry in the eyes of Mr Lee for a fleeting moment. Agent Carlston enjoyed that. He replied swiftly

"Ah, I need no assistance in any matter truly Mr Lee. I am only here to enjoy a quality cup of coffee with you this morrow." He continued to point to the fresh cup of coffee which rested in front of Kevin.

He continued "You see Mr Lee, my great nation is sometimes thought of as being too... tolerant, due to our almost non existant trade and contraband laws.. and our willingness to allow foreigners onto the island, whom would not be welcome in many other nations.." he paused, making sure Kevin understood exactly of who he was speaking, before continuing.

"Therefore when certain.. interesting characters enters our borders, my Boss likes us to greet them in a friendly matter - just to prove to them that we are not as soft and ill informed as the world might believe.. That we know quite a lot of basically every person whom enters our islands.." he paused again, allowing each word to sink in.

"So in summary Mr Lee, I am here to welcome you to the greatest city in the world.. and that I humbly wish that your business here does not step on our toes.. or that past grudges does not spill blood on our PUBLIC streets..." Agent Carlston smiled again, brazenly. He continued to take out a picture of agent Audrey W. Clark snapped as she entered via the airport.

Emily smiled. "Golly! That makes me a happy girl. Right.. so here is the thing girls, what I want from a supplier..:

One. Quality products. Thats obvious yes? That we will test tonight offcourse..
Two. Effecient and fast supply.
Three. Good reputation.. I will obviously research your company deeply..
Four. Good relationship. I believe firmly in the Port Emberian way of doing business - simply put is family values.. Port Emberians sees partners as families..

Speaking off.. I can imagine you will research me as well.. so let me spare you the shock. There is firm rumours regarding me.. rumours which speaks of me as being a very good smuggler and black market fence for stolen art." Emily smiled softly, playing with her long hair.
"I will not comfirm or deny such rumours.. However, whay I can tell you is that at this moment, such rumours are outdated. My chain will not be linked to any black market activity, either by myself, my employees or my suppliers.. I have worked hard to get the start up capital.. I do not need any more drama than what I am already expecting.."

Emily smiled, looking at Kiana; waiting to see whether her blunt honesty will put her off.

The arts quarter was buzzing with customers around the thousands of stalls, yet not as busy as the food quarter.

Many stalls held paintings, ranging from themes between the ocean, tropical island sceneries, wild animals to war paintings. There was quite good ones to, yet no extremely expensive ones (milliom dollar plus), since those were found at the upmarket galleries around the city. There was tons of handcrafted goods as well, especially wooden or bronze statues.

The clothing stalls were even more numurous with any type of clothing imaginable - even snow wear, which was quite funny since Port Ember was a tropical island. The locally produced clothes had one thing in common - casual and cool. Island style shirts, skirts, dresses and shoes were everywhere. A few suit and formal gown stalls were also available, although if you wanted the best of those, they were not available here but at the fashion houses in the city. The bazaar held mostly affordable, yet still quality and stylish items.

PE International Airport
Lex and Mark

"Hey! Over here!"

Lex turned to see his friend and business partner standing at the exit of the terminal. He ordered Malinkov to park next to him and subsequently got out of the car. The two men embraced, as they had not met face to face in a few years now. The two men got back in the car and slowly made their way onto the freeway.

"How was the flight?"

"Ah, uneventful. Although customs was a bitch, both in Ukraniumstan and in PE. The war has really made a mess of things as of late."

Lex replied, "You don't have to tell me. Company profits were on the rise before the whole embassy incident in Kyavan. Now we're back to where we were last year. I heard that our growth in The Chuck has come to a standstill."

"Well, at least I got a bit of good news. The stuck-up pricks from the Rada and Ukrobrom have finally agreed on the deal."

"Hah! You finally got through to that old bastard Alexandrovich, eh? I thought he would never budge..."

Mark laughed and went silent for a bit, looking out the window at his homeland.

"Man, I have missed this place. How have things need around here?"

"Ah, about that...I think we can talk about that more once you settled in. Upperdeck, right?"

"Nothing less, my friend"

"Right, speaking of which," Lex took out his phone and scrolled through his texts. The courier had sent him confirmation of the delivery. Lex looked back at Mark and said "The Upperdeck is full of rather curious folks as of late. I haven't had much time to get acquainted with them, but I have a feeling that you're gonna have your hands full of them. Enjoy your stay there. Were meeting later tonight, alright? Oh, and welcome back to PA, brother."

1 hour later, Upperdeck Hotel

Mark had made his way to the reception desk, suitcase and travel bags in hand. Unlike Lex, who had many different servants, bodyguards, and the like at his disposal, Mark preferred to do things alone. That didn't mean he didn't travel and carry himself luxuriously as possible. He approached the reception desk.

"Hey there, my good man. Reservation for Mark Armitage."

A black Reaver Black Diamond car pulled up in front of the house, and out stepped two men, dressed in shorts and flower shirts, packing pistols concealed underneath their shirts. The car they traveled in was indeed a luxury vehicle - yet was quite common around these parts. The men was secret service agents, dressed casually and traveling in an unmarked car, all in order to maintain the privacy of Penny and Evan. They were waiting to take the couple to the Embassy.

Penny and Evan - Penny's house
As the security agents pulled up, the first thing that greeted them was a big white Scania R730 V8, a beast of a machine when running however currently she stands gleaming in the morning sunlight, the path that led up to the house ran past the truck allowing the agents to have if they so chose, a good look at the truck which though a 2012 model is in fact in good condition.

It was Evan who opened the door after looking through the spy hole in the door, the door opened a few inches but was stopped by a security device on the door.
"Good morning" said Evan, "Can I see ID please?"

it was a simple request but Evan wanted to at least be sure who he was dealing with.

In the hallway, Penny was standing in a blue dress that showed off her cybernetics.
"who's at the door?" she asks

"i think its the diplomatic protection unit, just need to check ID" replied Evan

Port of PE, 09:15

The ship has anchored and the passengers are disembarking from the ship. Vernon leads his men outside the ship to find their boss. After they break from the crowd they see a man smoking a cigarette. Vernon recognises him. He approach him with a handshake.

"Good to see you boss." Vernon says while looking at a coffee cup right next to Mike that got his attention "Is that your's? I thought you didn't like coffee."

Mike smiled " I thought i'd give it a try in this place, drink it if you want cause i won't" Just as he said that Vernon grabbed the cup and drank it all in one sip. Mike notices the other men behind Vernon waiting to meet their boss in person. "So, these are the new guys?" He turns to Vernon

"Yeah, El Presidente recommended them. They are trained for combat and have experience from the Bolivian Crisis on both warfare and trafficating."

Mike nodded to his men. " Look Vernon, i don't like how unorganized we are in this place. We need vehicles as soon as possible and some real estate to use as a base. I see you have the bags too. " As he speaks he notices two free cabs. " Take two of our guys and go find us some cars. The rest of you with me back to my hotel." The group approaches the taxis and places the bags in the trunk.

Vernon turns to his guys, Ramses and Olimpo. " Ramses find me a car dealership. Olimpo get us another cab." The two men immidiatly respond to Vernon's orders while he thinks.

Suddenly Ramses turns to Vernon " Vernon look we can order cars from this website directly to our hotel."
Vernon looks at the page, and starts to tell Ramses what to order. After they submitted their order they wait for a response.

"Hey guys come, i found a taxi." Olimpo shouts and the three men make their way for the hotel.

Kevin Lee - Upperdeck Hotel

Kevin looked straight into Agent Carlston's eyes as he pulled out his wallet and slipped his own photo on the table. The photo appeared to have been taken at range but it showed Agent Clark wearing a cocktail dress hugging and kissing Kevin who was in a suit. The other noticeable feature of the photo was the fact that Agent Clark was holding a thin knife to Kevin's throat while the faint outline of a pistol could be seen between them being pushed into her stomach by him.

"This photo was taken a couple months back by a fellow agent of Miss Clark who was backup for her had something gone wrong. I hacked into some government files to retrieve it but as you can see, both Agent Clark and I have feelings for each other. As such, I would not imagine harming her more than she deserves when she comes meddling into my affairs. As you well know, the world of espionage and underworld dealings is a weird one. I respect your request and I will attempt to prevent my 'business' from interfering with the daily goings-on in Waterstad. However, if anyone else attempts to get in my way, that might become an issue."

Upperdeck Hotel
Mark Armitage

Jonathan, the reception clerk at the Upperdeck Hotel smiled broadly at Mark when he arrived and announced his arrival. Jonathan knew of Mark, did not know him personally, but by his status and reputation. In Port Ember, highly successfull businessmen held the same fame status as rock stars did in other nations. Jonathan greeted Mark and spoke to him in esperanto:

"Good Morrow Mr Armitage - it is an absolute pleasure and honor to house you today. Your penthouse sweet on the fith floor is prepared and ready for you. Please inform us if you would require anything - at any given hour. Please do enjoy your stay!"

Within seconds a porter took the luggage of Mark from him and swiftly transported it up to his room.

Agent Carlston laughed softly at Kevin's response. In his experience, the underworld type only had three responses when they were met with this type of conversations: Lies, anger or like Mr Lee today - a cocky arrogance.

"Thank you for sharing this information with me Mr Lee, I will ensure to update your file.." Agent Carlston smiled broadly, and cockily himself.

"I understand and respect that you will act when your business is threatened.. that is your nature. However...I do expect you to understand and respect that if such an action results in public violence, that my agency will also act.. that is our nature.." Agent Carlston smiled again broadly. He wanted to ensure that Kevin understood exactly what the deal was here, and that the agency was more than willing to back up their threats.

The agent's observed and admired the impressive truck which stood proudly in the driveway, in all its glory. Port Emberians in general held great interest and admiration to a well build machine, and this Scania truck was one fine example of a well build machine.

As the agents were greeted from behind a half-closed door by Evan, they were asked for proof of identity. This request was not even remotely strange or rude. The agents were quite used to it, and respected the request. Life was precious afterall. The agents quickly took out their badge-wallet and held it up to the door, clearly reflecting their status as Secret Service Agents. The badges identified them as Agents Riley and Peters. The badges dispayed an ID photo and a badge number. Agent Riley responded: "Mr Snyder, feel free to call our head office to confirm our identity via our badge numbers. And good morning Sir."

Upperdeck Hotel, Mike Haze

The two taxis pulled over in front of the hotel. Mike and his men got out of the car and he ordered them to take the bags and follow him. As they enter the hotel,at the reception, Mike notices a porter carrying some luggage and the receptionist talking to a man about a suite. They proceed to Mike's room. The men enter the room and leave the bags upon the bed.

Mike lights a cigarette and turns to his guys "Alright, these money is your top responsibility. If we want to set something up here, we must protect it at all costs. For now, we wait for Vernon to arrive so i can give out tasks for you guys." he stops as his phone rings. It is a bank notification about a purchase. 100,000 Aurum for two Super Diamond with extra mods had just been purchased. He instantly thinks that Vernon made the purchase so he does not worry. "Seems like we will have our vehicles by this afternoon. Now only real estate remains"

After a few moments, the door knocks. One of Mike's guys opens the door. It's Vernon with Ramses and Olimpo.

Vernon rush in the room and approaches Mike "Okay boss,we got the cars ordered and they will be outside the hotel by the afternoon."

Mike turns to him, drops his cigarette into the astray and looks at the money bags. "Go online and check for real estate. We need at least two roofs, a garage and i want the bottom floor and the first floor to be proffessional and the second floor to be about sleeping quarters etc. And make sure it's outside of the city."

Vernon sits on a chair and taps the parameters in his smartphone looking into real estate sites in Port Ember.
