Is there more information on the interest thread? I feel like I'm missing information whilst trying to write my character biography.

Physical Description:

Standing at an average height at 179.87, Charles is still slightly thin and scrawny even from the days in the city guard. He has dirty unkept brown hair. He rarely smiles but when he does it always mean that victory is on the horizon or there is just beer nearby. He wears the signature cape that trails behind him in his off duty Danish Valkyrie uniform. His posture is always straight and at attention. Another trait he gained during his three years in the guard.

Character Short Bio:

Born on 2028 January 18, one year before the disaster, to a single mother, Agneta Akerström, in Stockholm. During the disaster, his mother would grab her revolver and her child backpack carrier, given to her by her late husband, and flee the city. Agneta found a boat and a terrified captain and a group of refugees hiding within it. They quickly boarded, Einar offering the captain a gold watch and a revolver for space, and landed in the city of Copenhagen. There she would go to her grandfather in search of a life in Kiel

Charles' would go to school but face some initial trouble due to the fact that his Swedish would only give him the ability to understand basic Danish words but he would soon pick up the language. In 2033 Agneta would find a job a city guard but was far too busy to take care of Charles so he found himself in his grandfather's antique shop. His grandfather's shop was like a treasure trove of items from the past. From World war two posters to the Prussian swords of old. His grandfather often joked that he had the saber of Charles XII himself. Charles would there take a strong interest in the past before the disaster. So much had been changed that things and ideas from only five years seemed completely alien. This slowly turned into an obsession with Charles often robbing to get the money in order to buy a cigarette card from the 1950s. In 2039 he robbed the wrong pocket and landed himself in jail. Only now did his mother, now a captain of the guard, find out about the methods in which he gained the posters in his room. She was enraged, spending the entire night chewing him out. She was a captain of the guard and her son a thief? Had she not fought through hordes of beasts and raiders to bring Charles to the safety of the Netherlands?

On his way back from school the next day (trying his hardest not to pick any pockets) he passed by a poster encouraging youths to join the city guard (Recently renamed as the Volkssturm) as auxiliary forces. How could he make it up to his mother? Prove to her that he was more than a common beggar thief? Why the answer was right in front of him. The next day he enlisted lying about his age claiming he was 13 and was given the role of an ammo carrier and if the worst was to come to a reserve trooper.

The worst would come in 2039 December 25 when a massive attack was launched by a terrorist group in an attempt to take Coppenhagen and use it as a base to take the Nordic nations. One by one the communist breached every defensive line and were now about to enter the city proper. Now the city guard was mobilized as the hordes came closer and closer. Suddenly before the devils reached their lines and range a massive rain of steel suddenly engulfed the city. The downtown area was reduced to rubble and Charles' mother wounded. All seemed lost when angels arrived.

GAMA had come. They routed the communist hordes, caught off guard from such sudden reinforcement...

GAMA would set up a major base in Copenhagen and her agents would search the city for possible recruits from the second generation and they found Charles. He would be quickly recruited despite much protests from his mother but Charles' still went anyway, determined to prove himself to his mother.

During the training, he is bunked with another boy named Konstantin. They both shared a fascination with the past and were determined to prove themselves to someone. To Konstantin, it was the fatherland that he had only heard tales of and dreamed of making those tales true once more.

Then in 2046 Charles' and Konstantin went on their first mission. They were ordered to be part of an operation to retake the Kiel canal and reopen it. But they were ambushed by a group of the Soldiers of the Cross members who had attempted to destroy the Kiel canal to disrupt the reunification of Europe. Konstantin's MACE was destroyed and his broken body ripped out by a Charles forced to eject. He died there in Charles' arms while bullets whizzed around them...

• X1 30mm Morningstar assault rifle GL addition (handheld): Light, next to no kickback, reliable and rapid fire for days. These are the four traits that define the rifle. At only 1.8 meters in length, the morningstar is extremely effective at close range with the option to detach the barrel making CQB much easier and overheats less rare but, of course, reducing the accuracy and range of the rifle. This edition comes with an under-barrel 50mm grenade launcher with the following ammunition available. This model has been uniquely designed with an attachment for a 50 cm bayonet capable of penetrating steel and slicing a man in half with one stab and a swing.
  
  
  • 50mm "Knock-Knock" concrete buster: Built to bust holes in urban environments the CB can penetrate two meters of concrete with a diameter of four meters. It does this with the round penetrating the calculated distance and exploding in the wall. A subdivision of this ammo type, Shock CB, penetrates the wall but the tip continues to penetrate and once it enters the other side detonates either a flashbang or a fragmentation blast with an effective radius of two meters.
    
  • 50mm "Starlight" White Phosphorus: Built to create smoke screen it is certainly not used as an incendiary round.
    
  • 50mm "Blaster" High Explosive: Effective up to 300m with kill range of 12m.
    
  • 50mm "Splinters" Fragmentation: Effective up to 200m with kill range of 20m and wounding of 50m.
    
  • 50mm "Dragon killer" Armor Piercing: Can penetrate 60m of armor at 300m. Not recommended against dedicated main battle tanks.
• 1.2-meter long vibrosaber "Barbarossa's saber": A 1.2-meter long saber that vibrates as fast as a hummingbird and made out of near unbreakable German steel. The weapon's hilt or handle contains a compact ultrasonic vibration generator, causing the saber to vibrate at an incredible speed, making even the slightest glancing blow become a gaping wound. The saber is dangerous to use against electrical weapons, as they conduct electricity.
  
• x1 20mm wrist mounted dual autocannons: Mounted on the right wrist of the mech the weapon is designed so that one can dual wield the saber without while at the same time having ranged firepower.
  
• 2x 15mm Luger II class machine pistols: The sidearm of the mech it is designed with close-range firepower in mind. It has a clip of over 30 rounds and an amazing fire rate. It could be dragged through mud and blood and still function the same as when it rolled off the production line. A fine example of German technology.
  
• x1 Tiger beißen class Shoulder-mounted 60mm rocket launcher.: The shoulder mounted launcher is mainly designed for long-range firepower. it is mainly designed to be used against armored targets at a long range being able to penetrate over 200m of armor with AP at 1km and 180mm with HEAT at any range.

Defensive measures:

• Blinder model 45 EW
• Compostie light armor 20m (Rated 500mm of steel).
• Ejection seat
• 6x Betrüger Hip mounted smoke launchers: Ejects electrically charged smoke to confuse electronics. However this also blocks the Panzer's own electronics.

Other features: The Gehender Panzer-2 is built for extremely close urban battles and as a scouting vehicle. It moves extremely fast with its two legs and can leap to hights of about a meter and a half.

Err, DK, I'm not OP nor one of his co-OPs, but let me share my opinion regarding your new character application. Feel free to criticize or correct me if I get anything wrong, everyone.

Let me just state first, though, that I admire the effort you're putting in trying to get in on this RP, but to be blunt, I think you just rewrote the same application with a new twist.

First off, I think OP mentioned somewhere that candidates were selected in their pre-teens and undergo augmentation at their teenage years, yet your character had joined GAMA at 15 years old. Surely that already made him too old to even be accepted, much less undergo augmentation and training with the same generation of characters in this RP? Maybe if he had been found and underwent training at an earlier age he could be accepted. (There's a character here with exactly that backstory. Forgot who, though.)

Second, uhh... how do I say this nicely? Lone-wolf type, obsessed with gaining his father's approval, tragic backstory, recklessness in battle... Your character is... edgy? Not that anything's wrong with that, though. However, I think that'll be a detriment to him as a character especially as we're all supposed to work together as a unit, following orders and all that. Your character seems prone to acting on his own, and will probably disobey direct orders if it meant "being a hero of Germany" or something. So, yeah, like I said, that'll probably be a problem.

Third, his "obsession" with reclaiming Germany. Would that not be a problem in future storylines, especially if a faction came along aiming to restore Germany that runs counter to GAMA's goals? I think that'll be a problem, too.

As for the mech, well, considering my limited experience on that area, I'll let someone else analyse it.

I would suggest not making a German this time around. You seem to be focusing too much on making a German nationalist to satisfy your own personal desires than an actual character in the RP. Try making a Pole, for a change, someone who is brought up in a culture that has been on the wrong end of German nationalist ambitions for at least twelve centuries. Maybe it'll help you create a more grounded character.

Honestly, going all the way that far seems a bit far-fetched. You could just say they got to Colorado and got picked up by GAMA there.

Character Short Bio: Born in the wake of the coordinated attacks in 2030, the young newborn was separated from their parents in the heat of evacuations in the greater Edmonton area. While she was airlifted out of a hospital for safety reasons, her parents were unfortunate casualties of the chaos brought upon by the EMPs and bombings that hit the city. With no next of kin to take her in thanks to the virus outbreaks and a lack of organized response to the refugee crisis, she was put into a state sponsored orphanage to house displaced children who's families were lost as a result of the attacks. A rash decision was made to conscript these orphans early into the Canadian Forces, starting with mandatory service after sixteen. However before that they would be put into a military boarding school to expedite the process. With the nation in dire straits and not many vocal voices left, it became a grim recruiting process.

The manpower losses, and general civilian losses sustained made such grizzly recruitment necessary in order to maintain a flow of manpower to fight the tide of the infection and whatever militant terrorist group sprouted up to oppose them. Officially the cadet corps was not allowed to bear arms, or be deployed as it was not an official branch of the active military. Realistically however, the Canadians were on the brink with majority of their population centres being mass grave yards, or hives of terrorists and veritable zombies. Kids didn't make for good soldiers, but they didn't need to be on the front to serve.

When GAMA asked for recruits, what was left of the functioning Canadian government surrendered its assets and answered with Claudia's 19th Dragoons Cadet Corps. With nothing but a sense of national pride and duty to feed her efforts, she soldiered through the program's training regime. Ironically, while she loved the maneuverability and speed of being a lightly armored scout, her mech appears to be among the heaviest there are, built for slugging it out on the front.

Character Short Bio: Amanda was born on Easter Sunday 2019 in the city of Sterling. Her family moved to Vietnam when she was four for her father’s career working for an electronics company. In the big panic of the collapse she lost both her parents and vanished into the first Valkyrie program after being picked up from the British embassy by rescue forces. She received good but not exceptional grades during assessment but her remarkable compatibility with the nano-technology marked her for selection to the second stage.

As a 2nd generation Valkyrie Kerr still has a laundry list of minor and series health issues but conversely, she is also one of the most experienced MACE operators on the planet. For the majority of her service Kerr was working under GAMA SEA Command out of Sasebo largely in expeditionary operations to mainland China and islands within Indonesia see extensive action against Viper forces.

For the past few years Kerr was undercover within the shadowy Proteus organisation gathering intel and looking for possible defectors. She returned three months ago and after a lengthy debriefing process it was decided she would be transferred to GAMA NA Command. Kerr is considered a valuable asset owing to her wide experience with the equipment at both GAMA's disposal and that of its foes. Despite health concerns she made an "enthusiastic" case and was cleared to continue operating. There are few remaining 2nd generation Valkeries still in service who would be familiar with her by anything but hearsay.

8030 hours.
20 miles NE of Fort Carson

The harsh light of the morning sun poured through the windows of the Osprey cooking the two women sitting opposite one another and making for a thoroughly unpleasant flight. One was well built, blond, in her late-twenties wearing a uniform that was obviously new down to the colourful GAMA NA patch on the arm. The other was older, a brunette and wearing the civilian attire of a fine dark-blue suit with a white blouse and had a little pass clipped to her hips. Both had pensive frowns and had been silent since talk off several hours ago, licking her lips and flexing her jaw as if to limber up for an act of great effort the blond braced for and finally broke the silence

“Now there’s no one who might know me here is there ma’am?” Speaking more harshly than was really needed though the microphone on her headset.
“If you’re referring to your two compatriots, they’re not pilots anymore, they did the sensible thing and retired.”
“Oh well good for them I suppose but shameful as well, we were made better than that Miss Fairley.” Noting the deepening of her opposite’s frown she quickly summoned a look of contrition and apologised “Sorry I shouldn’t speak to a senior like that.”
“I’m your caretaker, not your commanding officer Amanda and I think you should have done the same. Someone in your situation is rarely given an opportunity like that and I’d do my best for you if you ever wanted to quit before this next tour is up. Speaking of your CO, I should tell you that she’s fully appraised of your situation.”
“I still can’t just be left to do a job? I’ve done everything you’ve asked and more.”
“And we very much appreciate that Amanda but we’re not changing policy just because you’re the model of civility now that you’ve re-entered civilisation.”

That killed conversation entirely till they landed a short time later and exchanged a final set of awkward goodbyes. Miss Fairley checked Amanda knew all the numbers she’d ever need and had them in writing (she had memorised them over a week ago but it made Miss Fairley happy). There was a small number of signatures required from the caretaker to finalise the transfer which she had taken as a bad excuse to come all this way. They made a valiant attempt at a hug and then were out of reasons to hang about. Amanda turned about and Miss Fairley went back to the Osprey.

The dust kicked up behind her as the last trace of debriefing flew off leaving her alone but for the escort. Their names were Private Fletcher and Simmons and they showed her the way to her sleeping quarters; gave a good account of procedures, timetables and regulations while keep a respectful (and regulation) 1.5m distance at all times. They were polite, professional and happy to leave as soon as their duties were complete, which took about twenty minutes when all was said and done. Sitting alone atop the bunk and wondering if she’d be sharing with anyone (it certainly looked occupied) Amanda swung her legs and checked the time on the new watch she’d been issued yesterday. It was a nice thing, durable and with a clear digital display. Playing with the buttons she found it had a date function and paused upon seeing it. “Happy birthday to me.” She mumbled dryly to no one before tossing her bag to the end of the bed to be fully unpacked later.
The soft sound of the morning alarm on the watch went off just then, not that she needed the reminder after over a decade but it was comforting in a way. Heading to the sink at the end of the room Amanda popped open the plastic container on her waist and mechanically counted out the two tablets and one capsule she took at this time in the morning. She retrieved a canteen from her bag and filled it from the sink tap to help take the medication. The tap water wasn’t great, nothing like home but it was certainly better than trying to swallow them dry.

After that noting the time had reached 0926 she made quick time to this briefing room the Privates had expressed she’d be expected at. It was early but that was fine she’d still have to find it and being prompt might make a good first impression. It turned out to not be far or well-hidden and she sat down in the second-to-front of empty chairs out of habit. Fixing her posture and uniform Amanda Kerr waited motionless and in silence, as was expected and proper and tried to ignore how uncomfortable the new uniform felt.
