I do not think for a second that if it came to it Daenerys would give up the throne for Jon. Not a chance imo

True. Sam telling him of his father and brother being killed and jon not being told of this did worry him a bit it seemed.

During Season 6, I speculated that Cersei would go down first before the plot concentrates on defeating the WW in the big finale. However, after this first episode, with all the players gathering in Winterfell and the Army of the Dead likely hitting the place in either the second or the third episode (Personally I believe the 2nd episode will end with the dead having arrived at the gates of Winterfell, beginning their full-scale assault in the next episode) I think that's becoming increasingly unlikely. It looks like Cersei might actually outlive the White Walkers. Of course, in order for her and the GC to pose any significant threat whatsoever, the dragons have to be taken out of the equation...maybe they both die in the fight against the Night King?

Also, I'm wondering how this "Jon vs Dany as rightful heir to the throne" thing they are obviously setting up will penn out.

My guess, which I am stealing from a podcast I listen to, is that Danaerys will insist on executing Jaime for that kingslaying he did that one time, and assert her authority as rightful queen to do so, and Jon will be forced to contradict her to save Jaime's life.

She goes all "Fire and Blood" in Jamie's face in the preview...but to be honest, is there anyone in the great hall other than Dany herself who didn't cheer about King Aerys' death when it happened? I mean this was the guy who had Rickard and Brandon Stark murdered in the cruellest way possible and who the entire North rose in rebellion against. Seriously, Dany should have deduced by now that her father was a crazy, vile son of a bitch. If the writers aren't deliberately trying to paint her as the villain, I expect her line after "you murdered my father..." to be something along the lines of "...but you were right to do so, he was an evil man."
