I'm just lucky that I don't have to be anywhere until 1pm tomorrow, otherwise I wouldn't be watching tonight. I'll probably be tired regardless.

So all the chess pieces are laid out for us. Solid episode but the best part is easily Jamies’ Oh fuck a duck” face at the end.

Well, I just watched a recording of the episode. I watched it with a large glass of white wine, some olives, and some potato chips.

Now that the mandatory setup is out of the way, I hope that amazing things happen next episode.

I can't believe that Yara was so easily rescued. That was a bit anti-climactic.

I liked Sam Tarly's reactions at his family being killed. It was very good acting. Danny is like... "OH SH-"

Nice scene with the Unsullied marching into Winterfell.

I feel that the episode was mostly about Setup but I'm glad that's out of the way. I can't wait to see what happens next with Jaime and Bran.

Is there an uncut version somewhere showing the Euron-Cersei moment?

5-6/10

Yara/Theon plotline was one of those typical D&D "how to tie up loose ends in less than 5 minutes" thingies we've come to known over the past 2 seasons. Guess we can be greatful they didn't just outright kill her and be done with her like they did with Stannis, House Tyrell and Dorne.

For some reason, for a couple of seconds, I honestly thought that was Jaime Lannister played by another actor there with Euron on his ship.

I liked Euron in this episode. He's being written as a cartoonish troll villain, and he delivers. In fact, the actor seems to have a talent for this sort of roles in general, he played the same kind of person in the Ben Hurion remake and Operation: Overlord. And Euron isn't as insufferable as Shirtless Ramsay, because he doesn't have cheat mode on.

Unsullied marching into Winterfell was a nice set-up scene. In general, this episode was about preparing things before the real action starts. I liked that they touched upon a thing GoT had forgotten for some time now: logistics. Feeding people, moving stuff from A to B etc. It's a good question, how ARE they going to feed all those troops and the dragons?

Lots and lots of reunions in this episode - personally, I was hoping for a bit warmer reactions between Arya and the Hound and Sansa and Tyrion, but oh well.

Sam and Daenerys - there really wasn't a better way to put this to Sam? Was that Jorah Mormont being an asshat for some reason?

I seriously hope House Glover/Deepwood Motte get eradicated by the WW before they march on Winterfell. Seriously has Lord Glover done anything in support of anybody in this entire show?

Getting Bronn for the assassin job? He was BFF with Tyrion and afterwards became BFF with Jaime, and now he's tasked with killing them? Somehow, I don't see this coming to pass.

Jaime's WTF FAIL face was a nice way to end the episode. Bran Stark should have said something like "Jaime Lannister. Nice of you to drop by" or something like that. :p

Next episode's preview includes a scene where Dany goes all "FIRE AND BLOOD" on Jaime for having killed her father. I hope she doesn't get too uppity, seeing what has JUST HAPPENED between her and Sam.

One night, you're going to have a nightmare so terrible and so frightening that you're going to wake up sweating and heaving and terrified. You're going to reach for your bedside lamp, turn it on, and get even more scared as you see a silhouette of an undecipherable shape in the corner of your room. As your eyes adjust at the horror that's about to creep up at you, he will turn on the light right next to him. It's Bran. Sitting in his wheelchair. Without any kind of explanation as to why he's there nor how he got there in the first place. For the next few years, during very inopportune moments, you're going to see Bran sitting in his chair staring up at you. On the night of your honeymoon, as you and your newlywed wife enter your hotel suite, you're going to see him and his chair right there. On the day your wife gives birth, as you wait in a dreary hospital hall right in front of the doors to the emergency room, you're going to see him and his chair as the hospital doors swing open, and on the day your first child graduates from high school, as you're accompanying your eldest up the stairs to receive his high school diploma from the principal, when you look out into the crowd you're going to look out into the far corner of the auditorium and you're going to see him there. Sitting in his goddamn stupid fucking wheelchair, with his hands on his lap, staring up at you.

Also, is it just me or does this Strickland fellow look like he'd be pretty good in combat?

I can't wait to see him in combat (although he'll probably anti-climactically switch sides or die instantly after the dragons pull some BS).

Let's be honest - the Golden Company won't become a big player this late in the game. (When Cersei was displeased upon hearing that there would be "no elephants" I kinda expected someone to shout "Sorry! The dragons and the ice zombies already ate up all the CGI budget" from off-screen :p )

I think Cersei's final demise will be connected to the "Bron as assassin" plotline somehow, and we won't see much action from the GC.

Unfortunately, you are probably correct. They did (very anticlimactically) off Ser Loras without giving him a chance to fight on screen at all.

However, this Bronn as Assassin thing is... not the greatest writing ever? DIdn't Bronn have "bonding" experiences with both Jaime and Tyrion? Hmmmm... "what could go wrong?"

I'm going to be hell surprised if Bronn actually kills either of the brothers. And if he does, it will probably be another long-winded Season 7 style Con the Audience A La Baelish Winterfell writing with Bronn going all "method acting" mode in the moment he "kills" one or both of the brothers when all three of them had another conversation off screen and is just doing it all to confuse the audience.

It was a good set up episode, really enjoyed it despite not a ton of shit happening other than reunions and everything moving into place.

Fuck House Glover. Rip House Umber

Wish the Mormonts got a scene together, but other than that i liked the reunions we got, short and sweet for the most part. I like that some people actually gave Jon shit for bending the knee, if that was just glossed over i would have been annoyed. I didnt think he would be told who he really was this early in the season, but i quite liked Sam's line about how Jon gave up his Kingdom to save his people, would Daenerys do the same, i dont think she would. (Also great scene when Sam was told of what happened to his family)

Disappointed Yara was rescued and done in less than five minutes but hoping for a better pay off for the greyjoys later down the line, though Euron is really good so far.

Jon riding a dragon was neat, so were all the preparation scenes in Winterfell with the Unsullied marching in, the siege weapons being built. Also did that look like they were smearing dragon glass on the top of the walls to anyone else?

Last Hearth, probably the creepiest scene in GoT ever with the fucking kid pinned to the wall then going up in flames screaming with the white walker symbol made up of severed legs behind him. Also i knew everyone there was fucking dead the second they showed Last Hearth in the intro, which got a really cool improvement, it was awesome looking.

Looking forward to the next episode, especially when Jaime and Bran have a little chat

Lena Headed initially disagreed with D and D's decision to have Cersei agree to Euron's demands.

https://www.indiewire.com/2019/04/lena- ... 202058853/

Do you think it fits the character or not?

...

Also, how come Euron cannot tell Cersei is already pregnant while Tyrion could immediately? Is that realistic?

Or did the show completely give up on making him blonde?

Neither. His hair is turning grey. Either from age or from the stress of it all, probably both.
