To discuss what you’ve brought up, Ormata:
A plain text description is fine if no one can find a picture for you. We are not haiving a discord server. We don’t have directed energy weapons yet nor will we for a long while. GAMA has a lot of wiggle room but it’s also still a lot better than Proteus so it helps distinguish between the two. I’m all for gray vs grey morality but you must clear it with us first. That being said, the only chemical warfare going on for GAMA’s side is trying to create coubtermasures to the symptoms the infected are displaying, and to also keep them at bay from large bases. Mainly CS gas and some new, harsher versions for those more persistent types.
Now for your character idea: I think that’s nice but we already have types like those in canon for tactical advisement and training purposes. Not to mention, the Valkyries need to undergo augmentation surgeries during a pre-pubescent age.

Nationstates Name: Ormata
Character Name: Eedit Klemetti
Character Age: 18
Physical Description:Standing at 5’4”, mildly short, Eedit is thin and skinny compared to most. Black hair is kept at shoulder length and mildly kept, though she often doesn’t really take care of it as far as combing goes. A perpetual smile, thin and concealing, is always on her face as though there’s a little joke she’s made all to herself. Eedit prefers to wear blue jeans and a simple t-shirt while outside of her blue jumpsuit, often rocking some headphones and her own music in her own little world.
Character Nationality: Finnish
Character Short Bio:Born in the greater northern regions of Finland, in Lapland, Eedit’s time there was rather short. She would still be a kid when Proteus attacked with a small force, artillery raining down before they moved troops in. They would, following the escape by helicopter, escape to a GAMA facility in Scotland. She would be conscripted in the simplest of terms into the mechanized program for the purposes of gene manipulations and therapies to prepare her for the piloting of the new MACEs under development.
RP Sample:Theme Song: GRiZ - Can't Hold Me Down
It would prove to be nearly an unmitigated failure, her body reacting to the therapies to the point of a two day coma and following issues involving fine motor control. However, what did occur behind the physical ailment was a capacity to reaction that remains nearly unparalleled. In terms of hand-to-hand her ability to anticipate a strike was such that it was nearly impossible to hit her...nearly. Eedit would, eventually, always stumble, always go a little too far to overextend herself, and would continue to be incapable of writing her own name. To her parents it was heart-wrenching, something that was cruel and callous, and yet the young girl kept on getting better and better. Physical therapy would provide for much of what she lacked and, over the many months, the small milestones would be reached time and time again. It was rewarding to be able to do the simple things, even if she hadn’t written much before, even if she hadn’t really ever done her hair before. Eedit had been so young when she had been volunteered up.
When the second Valkyrie program came around, she would go back again. Eedit wanted to fight. She wanted to win. She wanted to prove she could do it, that she could move, that it wasn’t just something wrong with her. The training was harsh, military, and taxing, but that’s the funny thing about it being so military. She just shut her brain off, did what she was told, and got the job done. Simple, effective, efficient, that was all they wanted and all she really needed to provide. If they asked for something, then she thought she could do it, and she would do it. Eedit would move on, getting her MACE.
Operations have so far been satisfactory, with good performance in the fields of long-ranged engagements, short-ranged urban CQB, and mass group suppression, though in fairness her MACE has been adequately equipped to perform all these aspects and more. To date she has had five confirmed MACE kills, one probable. Eedit’s skillset, however, leans heavily towards the singular soldier approach, taking preference in being inserted in areas not saturated by friendly units for a far more stealthy method in the destruction of her enemies. Three of those confirmed MACE kills were in a non-combat environment on patrol, unaware of their imminent deaths, and her ambushes are such that leave very few people actually alive. While the training did make strides to correct this, preferences are preferences after all.
MACE Model Name: Boeing Insitu MZD 109 Sledgehammer
MACE Nickname/Reporting Name: Mannerheim
Height: 3m/9.84ft
Weight(approx.): 15.2 tonnes (34,000 lb)
Equipment:Weaponry:
- Rota Omnidirectional Optics: Designed to fit into a 40mm grenade launcher and coupled with a high velocity grenade shell, the Rota is fired and embedded into a solid surface, often a concrete wall, before ejecting thee grenade shell and opening-up to reveal a hemispherical camera. This feeds into the MZD 109’s optical and sensor suite, allowing for a line-of-sight without an actual line-of-sight.
- Boeing Insitu RQ-30 Jaguar: With a twin-boom, pusher design, measuring 1 meter long, and with a wingspan of 2.4 meters, the Jaguar is a UAV equipped with an electro-optical and infrared camera. With an endurance of 9 hours, it is launched via a pneumatic catapult mounted on the MZD 109’s back. It is unarmed. The Jaguar can be remotely controlled, set in a ‘guard’ mode around a specific location, or set in a patrol path to scout ahead. It has a limiting range of 40 kilometers, service ceiling of 9,448.8m/31,000ft for remote control.
Defensive measures:
- Boeing Insitu 120mm MIRC-9 Autocannon: Rifled and ready, the MIRC-9 gives unparalleled engagement range and capacity for destruction. Fitted as to be handled by fine motor control hands instead of the traditional system of simply mounting the cannon to the MACE, it has pneumatic recoil reduction gear and an angled muzzle brake to limit the recoil of two shots per second. The Autocannon is furthermore fitted with a tripod which pneumatically locks into the surface used. A magazine of five rounds is implemented. The rifle may be fired in automatic or semi-automatic. It should be noted that due to the weight of the weapon it cannot be fired while on the move. Rounds available are:
- M101 HEAT: Designed for use against enemy MACE and tank units, the M101 features a conically-shaped region inside the warhead to further penetration in addition to a highly concentrated explosive filler. Overall it is capable of 8.40 centimeters of hardened armor.
- M109 Star: With a timed delay, the M109 serves the anti-infantry purpose by performing as an airburst round. Once fired, it travels and then detonates in mid-air to shower a diameter of 60m. A kill radius of 10m has been observed for most unarmored and unaugmented units, though this radius shrinks to 5m when used against hardier enemies, such as infected.
- M300 GSAT: The Guided Shell Anti-Tank M300 is unique as it features the traditional HEAT manner of penetrating a target but is equipped with a small scale RADAR suite, control surfaces, and is rocket-propelled. In addition to this, gyrojet rocket motors allow for both increased accuracy at long range and a vast increase in maneuverability, though the latter can be considered somewhat crude as timing delays due to quality in rounds can cause for a miss. The M300 can be guided by IFF or through a laser from the MZD 109.
- General Electric M134 Minigun: Mounted with a pistol grip, the M134 is loaded by a semi-rigid belt with disintegrating links which feeds into a drum magazine mounted along the back of the unit containing 10,000 rounds. Dialed to fire at 2,000 rounds per minute, the M134 serves as a secondary weapon to the MIRC-9. The weapon’s 7.62mm rounds can serve to adequately engage soft targets up to 500m away, though it should be noted that it is only fired in very short bursts due to the grip manner. Normally located on the MZD 109’s ‘thigh’.
- AAI 40mm M203 Grenade Launcher: Mounted on the left forearm of the unit, the M203 can be used to fire a variety of rounds. It should be noted that the M203 has a maximum firing range of 400m, though it is extremely rare for the weapon to be fired at these distances. The M203 fires exclusively M433 HEDP or Rota rounds.
- FIM-92 Stinger: Optionally mounted in two four-missile boxes on either side of the main structure of the MACE, the FIM-92 allows for surface-to-air capabilities which would otherwise be unknown. This increases the likelihood of an armor breach due to missile detonation on an enemy hit and as such is rarely taken.
Other features:
- Furuno AN/ALQ-99 EW System
- Furuno AN/SPA-101
- General Electric MIRA: The Mace Integrated Reactive Armor is a secondary layer of ‘armor’ which operates as pseudo active camouflage, utilizing the environment around the system to overall mimic it’s image and hide the MACE from observant enemy units. The MIRA cannot operate while the unit is in movement and furthermore is extremely disrupted while in CS. Weather also disrupts this active camouflage, from rain to dust storms, instigating glitches and rapid flashes as the system attempts to replicate every single grain of dust, every single raindrop. The MIRA cannot take any form of damage and, as such, will cease working if his by even small arms.
Overall the MZD 109 is armed and armored to take and give a hard beating. Heavy armor in the form of plating which could have been mistaken for coming off of a main battle tank, it can withstand hit after hit despite the small size. Internal bracing, compartmentalization, and backup systems allows for it to take those repeated hits and dispose of the fragmentation which would otherwise cripple secondary systems. Armor around the hip structure where it connects to the locomotive system is weaker than normal. In addition to this, the MACE’s pilot is completely hidden in the suit, with a 360 degree optical camera to provide for basic sight.

The Soldiers of the Cross have slowly made their way into Russia but still have a ways to go before they get to Moscow. That doesn’t mean they haven’t been able to launch attacks into Russia before the EMP strike, though.

Considering where Nadya grew up is even farther east than Moscow and on Russia's southern border, I think she's a little far away to have run into them repeatedly before she became a valkerie.
