Darius [Crossover SUV] | Model Placeholder

To Whom It May Concern,

Welcome to the first Global Economics and Trade Index (GE&T) storefront for Automobil Yohannes. My name is Clara Höffner, and I am the current Managing Director for the Foreign Sales Department of our company. What is Automobil Yohannes? We are a small Mittelstand family-owned business based in Royal Lindblum: the beating heart of industrial Yohannes.

Automobil Yohannes has only one vision—and one commitment—and that is to make sure that what we promise you is actually real. Many companies will promise you the world: the latest high-technology cars and the materially most expensive designs, but we won’t. We only manufacture older car designs for young “mum and dad” families. Our cars will not break down or suddenly leave the street and hit you on your slow-moving Monday morning traffic jam.

As a family-owned company, we are certainly not the best—far from it. We are too small to be the best, and even in Yohannes our cars could not compete with the latest models from such high-achieving automobile nations as Trelatche and Van Luxemburg.

But we will try to build our own cars for young families out there, and we will try to build with the limited resources that we have for not just our small number of loyal customers in Yohannes, but also to you—our potential second-hand car distributors and importers overseas.

Who are our market segment and target audience? They are as follows:

  • Cash-strapped working class and growing middle-class families;
  • High school and university students who don’t have a lot of money; and
  • Old superannuitants and soon-to-be pensioners.

Who are not our target audience? They are as follows:

  • Boy racers and bogan drivers;
  • Rich people with money to burn; and
  • Sports car enthusiasts and car collectors.
Question 1: How can we establish a dealership or importing branch of Automobil Yohannes in our nation?
    Answer: As Automobil Yohannes is a small Mittelstand company, unfortunately we do not have the capital to do so. We apologise for this inconvenience.
Question 2: Does your company abide by World Assembly resolutions?
    Answer: Yes.

History

The present-day car some foreigners knew as the “Darius” was in fact the fourth incarnation of its kind. The first concept of the car model associated with Automobil Yohannes’ first introduction into its market segment of crossover sport utility vehicles was kick-started in January 1996. Automobil Yohannes research and design team members twenty years ago were experimenting with a new car concept in the Nineteen Countries:

  • A four-wheel drive emphasising casual persona and flexibility to attract younger generation Yohannesians;
  • The idea to approach the above-mentioned goal was to allow a passenger-comfort driving experience while combining overall good motorway speed with four permanent wheel drive and acceptable ground clearance.
  • It was hoped that the above experience will attract customers who are not interested in mud plugging off road cars, with special importance placed for those who want to have a lot of weekend leisure time—for instance, doing some mountain biking, tramping or driving to their favourite scuba diving spot.
  • To give new features that can attract potential buyers for the right market segment, such as retractable and storable twin sunroofs, fully-reclined passenger seats for sleeping, and comfortable back space.
When words were leaked by a mysterious snitch inside the company with knowledge of the project in 1994, the concept became the rage with the cash-strapped young people of the day (and large middle-income families who were too embarrassed they were cash-strapped), and the first car model was advertised heavily by the company soon thereafter. Though potential buyers of the car would have to wait until December 1995, their decision to wait was proven to be worth the time, for the model was soon becoming “The Thing” among the cool students and the cash-strapped families who still wanted to look cool—the initial number of cars were sold quickly, four months faster than was forecast by cynical market observers.

Why the humble success in Yohannes? Well, the reason was simple: the Darius had set a new sport four by four standard (at the time). This first incarnation of the model was configured with either four-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmissions. It had offered their buyers with an “alright” all-wheel drive system.

Because of its width then, as well as its four-wheel drive setting and short overhangs, the first Darius was easily manoeuvrable—on or off-road—under almost all weather conditions. The earliest Darius car was not listed by the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Trade as a truck, thanks to its well-designed passenger safety equipment, which included a driver’s side airbag and an adjustable three-point seatbelt setting for the driver and passenger seats. This combination was one of the many factors behind the unexpected domestic success of the oldest Darius model.

Building on its initial success, the company introduced a new variant a year after that. The new variant featured a new four-door setting, and the model was almost half a metre longer than its predecessor. The second incarnation—called by young families and students in Yohannes as “Darius 1995”—applied a newly-established national road safety standard of two front air bags. The Falador Ti9, a re-tuned two-litre engine for cleaner emission, was incorporated to replace the previous engine. This gave the car better torque performance. In July 1996, Automobil Yohannes introduced the front wheel drive variant of the car.

In 1997, the new management of the company wanted to improve the design again by just a wee bit. However, these were only minor improvements; for instance, changes to seat fabric for two-door variants; the addition of an electronic moon-roof system for four-door variants, and a digital clock as part of the standard model’s package. Audio entertainments were further improved to adapt with the latest entertainment development at the time.

And the fourth, and final incarnation of the Darius is the model presented by us in this storefront. It is a vast improvement to its 1997 predecessor, with some notable changes including but not limited to:

  • Updated lighting and bumped cap;
  • Improved and modernised front grille structure;
  • Refurbished interior, which includes door panels, cupholders and improved audio/stereo; and
  • Updated engine to further improve performance.

From the desk of the Prime-Minister
Our nation automotive industry is growing and in a recent decision of the parliament we are relaxing the taxes on the automotive and utility vehicles industry. Our objective with this is to help create enough jobs to get our unemployment rate down by 0,56% points by the end of the semester. We are thus inviting you, Automobil Yohannes, to install factories and enough Dealerships to create those jobs and good quality cars for our population. Now our only trouble will be the traffic after all those cars get on the street, eh mate? :lol2:

Signed, with the blessings of our dear Emperor John William Notthergham:

Prime-Minister Anthony Pritchard.
