Blood Wine brought up LGBT regions being tagged and you mentioned saving money on stamps. So, yeah, your statement that y'all never bring it up can be disproved right here on this page.

You clearly didn't look very hard because I didn't bring it up on this thread, it was brought up ages ago back on the first page. Given that, for some reason "$1.35 isn't a lot of money" has now become the main topic of this thread, it's another snarky response to that.

While that's totally fair... y'alls behavior upon being made aware of it has been amazingly awful.

All I've added to this conversation is that I don't think anyone has said anything out of line.

Perhaps we can get back on topic now?

Perhaps the word "diary" is slightly different in American English. The statement makes perfect sense to me.

Port Blood was discussing LGBT regions being telegrammed. You replied with a snarky response bringing up money. In that conversation, you brought up money first. This is not difficult to understand.

The thread as a whole is the conversation. I didn't bring it up, I referred to others bringing it up.

From this point on, I'd rather not talk about it again at all.

You've got to be fucking kidding me. You can't honestly expect everyone else to use the exact same dialect as you on an online forum?

I'd really like to use some more colourful (oh, wait, colorful - better spell it that way so you don't get confused) language here, but I don't think the mods would appreciate it.

I love how y'all are being "Oh, you Americans need to be more interculturally aware!!" But when we ask for a word which we actually understand and know you act all condescending and not like you're being interculturally aware at all. Why don't you practice what you preach?

If you care to actually read the discussion above, you'd see that I only acted condescending when someone outright stated "you should have used xxx word instead".

No, Jocospor doesn't need to use a different word when "diary" isn't an error - it's grammatically correct English.

I don't know off by heart an entire list of words that mean slightly different things in American English, but when something doesn't make sense to me I use Google to find out the intended meaning. It's not that hard.

Practice what you preach - in most cultures that have April Fool or its equivalent it is normally a requirement for the prank or joke to be funny.

No, you can't blame people's confusion on you using American English. Even in American English "diary" = "book you write your thoughts and feelings and personal narratives into," not a fucking calendar. Re-checking the dreams, aspirations, and masturbatory scrawlings that one has put to paper is not the means by which you learn "Oh, it's April Fool's Day." Stop gaslighting everyone.

I highly recommend that useless shit like this proposal be entirely ignored from now on. The extent to which reasonable people are taking CCD's bait is disheartening.

It was still weird phrasing in British English. It would make more sense to say 'check the callender.'

Check your diary would be what you'd say to someone who had an important appointment or meeting. I don't know anyone who would say check your diary in this context.
