We will be utilizing the NWI Rules of War to conduct the battles themselves and as a guide for tactical maneuvers. This thread is meant for any military roleplay, not just those related to wars. Every nation should familiarize themselves with the general guidelines below, and keep in mind how to best make the RP as fun, creative, and inclusive as possible!

"Take the shot."

The bullet fired. For a second, there was deafening silence. Then everything came crashing down.

The entire Suebian regiment began training their guns on our position. Alarms were screeching so loud I could barely hear myself think. "Get out of here, dammit!" Our group sprinted through the doorway. "Roberts! There's probably an exit at the end of this hallway!" Shirani yelled to me from behind over the noise of gunfire. "Then let's move it already!" I shouted back.

Just as I was turning to run, I heard something drop with a thud. It was Shirani on the floor, lifeless and bleeding. There was machine gun fire pelting the windows and walls to our left. "We have to keep moving!"

After running the length of what was the longest hallway I have ever experienced, we found the staircase. Every man and woman of our company was holding their breath. We raced down the stairs as fast as we could manage. Out the back door and into the street, the Suebians were waiting. Nearly a hundred of them had their rifles trained on our skulls. "Drop your weapons," a ranking soldier said, moving closer to our group. We obeyed begrudgingly.

"Who is your commanding officer?" he said menacingly. "I am."

I stepped forward, holding my arms above my head. "You should be grateful we let you live," the Suebian snarled back. "We have heard of your little...company from our comrades. I am delighted to have finally captured you."

"Well, we are happy to grace you with our presence," I retorted. He slammed his elbow into my cheek, and I recoiled, spitting some blood onto the ground. "Put them with the others!" We were then marched away from the courtyard.

Jared Laskey, the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, steps up to the executive podium.

"In regards to the recent supposed military movements by the 'Iron Legion' in Asia Minor, Karteria will not get involved in such a conflict. However, we unequivocally condemn the iron legion's practices and ideology and do wish for their total exclusion of Suebian and international politics."

As days go by the rebelling tribes who now go by the name of the new flame continue there infernal march towards the capital host. although resistance is still there and both sides have taken significant losses the tide of power seems to be at a slowly shifting equilibrium.

The Rhodes-Land Government has come forwards with yet another statement.

"Today, the Intervention Force we have dispatched to Idiocarasia has arrived in the capital city the "Host of Cara." The forces are equipped with hazardous environmental equipment to combat the poor conditions of the region. We have sent Rhodes' African Rifles, The Light Infantry and a contingent of the BSAP to assist the defence of the capital whilst Air Force and Scout regiments combat the rebels, attempting to occupy the incoming rebel force for long enough until the evacuation is complete.

We would like to reiterate that we are here solely for humanitarian purposes and will not influence their political situation once the rebellion has been resolved as after all the prinary objective of our intervention is to evacuate the civilians and quell the rebellion."

The top government and military officials all convened in Victoria today in a meeting at Prince Albert Barracks to discuss the situation.

"The political climate in the world is rising and the possibility of an all out war in the African continent is getting even more realistic." The President stated. "Do you think that by stopping the rebellion in Idiocarasia, a rather primitive nation might I add, this will stem the tide of war before it reaches our borders?"

The commanders of the Air Force and the Army would both look somewhat uncertain. "It is unknown, Sir." The Commander of the Army would say. "Though perhaps the suppression of a revolt can help to deter other nations from doing so." He would say.

"Yes, but what about the more developed nations, you know, the ones who live in established towns rather than nomads gathering around tribal chiefs?" The Commander of the Air Force would state. "Not to mention Cymiopolis which is endorsing civil wars and funding it with its own industrial complexes?" The Air Force Chief would state.

"Listen, gentlemen." The Prime Minister would butt in. "The fact of the matter is we cannot afford to take the risk of a domino effect occurring." He began. "Conflict is getting closer and closer to our own borders and even if there is the slightest chance of halting it or even postponing it we need to take it, use the moral high ground as an excuse for intervening all the time."

The Chiefs and the President all nod in agreement before the President speaks up. "However we cannot sustain ourselves in prolonged conflicts, should the situation in these... interventions prove beyond what we see fit, we shall pull all forces back, remember we are isolated, South Africa is, hopefully, our only ally."

The four all convene their meeting and head to their respective duties.

With news of the Flame Legion's intentions of bringing Idiocarasia up to par with 22nd century society, the CIA has began smuggling arms, munitions, uniforms and supplies to the rebel faction. Furthermore, a platoon of Armatoloi has been dispatched to aid with guerrilla training in the Levant highlands.

ic: with the bombing of the capital and destruction of the I.F.H.C many tribes have started to rally behind the New Flame Legion, although there are the few loyal tribes that have now stated their support for the capital the fighting looks to become a 1to1 manpower ratio quite quickly. more information will be provided within the coming days.

IC: "In accordance with the recently passed Security Council motion, 25 thousand UN Peacekeepers have been deployed to Host of Cara in order to evacuate civilians. They are setting up barricades around major roads leading to the evacuation site. All civilians within the area are asked to head to the site if possible.

The force is asked not to directly engage the New Flame Legion if possible. However, if attacked, they will fire back as necessary. We expect many hostilities."

SIC (Secret In Character)

The KSS Nightrider, the first Maverick-class Ranger ship of its kind, sped across the night sky, nearly touching the edges of the atmosphere. Light reflected against the midnight blue and black paint.

Alex Verdugo, meanwhile, was already sweating. Rangers like him were always experienced combatants, but even they had never had a mission start quite like this. The intercom piped up.

"Listen up, Gamma Team." It was Special Forces Command. "We gotta make this quick. Enemy units are already on the move and moving quickly. You are to infiltrate and extract a high-priority VIP from Host of Cara, named Don Cicero. He's the Karterian Consul to Idiocarasia and has classified intel on multiple parties in the Mid-East. His last confirmed location was 5 clicks east of the Grand Arena, in the National Communications Relay.

Flaming Legion forces have surrounded the city and are bombing it to bits. UN forces can't help you in the extraction – they're hard-pressed with the evacuation of civvies. You're going to hot-drop into the middle of the city, right on top of the Arena. Current intel suggests enemy forces are moving into the area, so your window will be short.

Defend against hostile forces as necessary, but refrain from direct engagement wherever possible. We're here for the man, not the war. Upon collection of the VIP, the KSS Nightrider will land at Extraction Point Alpha, 2 clicks north.

Bring him back at all costs. Command out."

Wakamatsu, the team sniper, chimed in as soon as we could. "So, you're telling me... that we have to fight barbarians alongside other barbarians in a war that isn't even ours? Get a load of this."

"You better wise up, 'cause that's what we're about to do, whether you like or not Ranger," Verdugo retorted. "Sir, yes sir."

"30 seconds till drop!" the pilot exclaimed.

"You know the drill – suit up!"

The five Rangers put on their suits, fit with oxygen helmets and wing-suits.

Verdugo prepped the team. "We stay in tight formation all the way down – no deviation. Move at all and you'll miss the drop site. Radio from command should get fuzzy on the ground, so we need to stay close. Ready!"

The stood into a line. Then, the green light glared, and the alarm sounded.

"Green light! Dive! Dive!"

They jumped. All at once, Verdugo could feel the rush of the wind. He couldn't help but look for a moment at what was bestowed upon him. The clouds and sunset to the west made him feel indescribable awe for this moment. However, in an instant, he faced the mission.

Diving deeper, they were enveloped by the clouds. Then, they saw flashing lights. Gunfire lit up the night below them, and bombs dug their way further and further into the heart of the city. Explosions ripped the darkness apart.

They lifted, spreading their wing-suits to a plateau. Ahead of them was the arena. Around them, all they could see were Flaming hoards.

Gamma Team had arrived at the Grand Arena, landing on the southern side of the top level. Nearly 55 meters tall, it was higher than the Roman Coliseum of days old. Many wouldn't see much of a difference, other than its activities usually being alive and well.

"The area is mostly clear of civilians – many of them made it to the evacuation site," Verdugo stated. "Secondary objective is to protect civilians on their way to the site, if we can.

Waka, take up overwatch on the east side of the Arena. Carnegie, DeCarlo, and Hawk, you're with me; we're gonna storm the relay and extract the VIP.

They scouted the arena level. No sign of resistance. Upon reaching the east side, Wakamatsu moved left to a tower. The rest of the team held up at the railing.

"Ropes out." They chained their ropes to the railing, and began descending.

They reached the ground floor. "Clear!" said Hawkins, "no one in sight."

"Let's move to that relay, team," Verdugo ordered. "Through this street!"

"Karteria warns the Electorate that such aggressive actions bent on destruction of others will lead to catastrophic consequences in the long-run – the international community does not take kindly to it.

Otherwise, in accordance with orders from the Department of Commerce, we have ceased all trade with your nation immediately."

The New Sistonian Atlantic Fleet has begun to follow the Empire of Electorate’s fleet.

The New Sistonian fleet has strict order to keep the fleet on the horizon at all times and to follow at a distance (12.2 miles or 19.6 kilometers).

While we do not want a war between an ally and a neighbor, the possibility is likely to occur. The Chancellor and his Ministers have locked themselves away to discuss what should happen if a war breaks out. But one thing is for certain, if war does break out, it will come to our border whether we want it or not.

Our intelligence has gathered reports of an Electorate fleet of unknown numbers heading towards our proud nation. While we have not determined if this is a full scale invasion force or a simple blockade to intimidate us, one thing is simple: Μόλων Λάβε!

In case of an invasion, we wish to remind the Electorate we are geared for a guerrilla war. From the peaks of the Andes to the grasslands of Patagonia to the glaciers of Tierra del Fuego, a Cymiopolitan is waiting while hidden in plain sight.

In case of a blockade, we are sell sufficient concerning food, energy and fuel. We also have a massive free-trade network with PAFTA. Supplies will come through one way or another.

OOC: Couple things wrong. You didn’t use the Rules of War as is required for such a battle. Additionally, unless Cymiopolis told you himself that he attacked you, it didn’t happen.

Edit: Also, you can’t have a fleet in the Mediterranean sea. You have no borders with it.
