Yeah I never use it myself, personally. I mean it's good for increasing your fertility, and there's a neat little event where you can take on a secret lover who will help you uncover plots better, but other than that it's not very appealing to me.

I only use it when I'm playing gay characters as a form of RP. My current Emperor is gay and has good Intrigue so I'm using it for him just because. I mean, when there's no chance of having bastards then the risk of discovery for infidelity is reduced substantially. Plus it pretty much nullifies the fertility nerf that the Homosexual trait gives you.

I don't recall if I've posted this before in a previous thread or not.

The background. Two friends and I playing the Cold War mod for Hearts of Iron 4, forming an alliance of imperial powers. We got into war with the Cominform, which was the Warsaw Pact nations and then Communist China joined in. We had a front line from the Pacific ocean to the Baltic sea.

So, in my Eire game, I have elective monarchy in place. And the only other electors are two independent petty kings who hate me. And I don't know if this is just their way of fucking with me, but they keep swapping their votes, from voting for themselves (that is, each one is voting for himself) and both voting for my son (who I am not voting for), so the heir position keeps switching between my eldest daughter and my son. And yet, despite their apparent ability to work together, at least for a week, they have never, not once, just both voted for one of them, even though it would dethrone my dynasty. AI logic is some weird shit.

My most recent Victoria II game:

I'm doing a Transvaal run next. It's... not going well. Zulu has about 9 times more soldiers than I do, and so I can't really get access to sea anytime soon. Orange has been integrated into the South African Republic, however.

I just wish it was more obvious about where zone of control was present and if the fort that's projecting ZoC is under siege it should be negated or something.
