Ageism is probably the only form of discrimination that makes some sense, at least right now.
People who were born 2 and 3 generations ago quite often come with a bunch of phobic, bigoted garbage. They more often than not feel entitled in the sense that they must be wiser and smarter than younger people, even though wisdom or smarts are not something you automatically gain when you reach the brain atrophy stage of your life. Old people quite often live without care for the future generations because they won't be around anyway, and vote accordingly. And, although nobody can blame them for being less productive, they don't put any effort to be useful past their productive parts of their life because of the entitlement that comes with age.
