If this may be your first time entering this boxing competition, which it is, then you might want to get some tips and headers first about our way of playing that sticks with the scorinator

1 OF 3: POINTS
At the beginning, all nations and their representatives have the same amount of points which is 1. For a win, yours gains 0.25 points, for a loss yours detracts by the same amount. This is how we shape up the winners from the losers!

2 OF 3: REPRESENTATIVES
A representative is your nation's selected boxer. You must have an entry about them to qualify for the Moser. As always, the longer, the better!

3 OF 3: BRACKET STYLE
We don't really have a tournament bracket, it would get really messy. But what we have in store is a Round Robin. This particular round robin bracket can store up to 8 international boxing representatives and the representative that gets the most match day wins the Moser and is host to the next one... if they want

HOSTING AND BID
The nation that wins the Moser decides for themselves if they want to host for the next one or not. If they decline, it is free for a bid. For now, it's still free for a bid

SCORINATOR

We as in me, use xkoranate for our authenticity and scoring purposes. You might see results like:
() def. () (RSC)
() 6-6+ ()
() 8-7 ()
Don't be scared! These are the scores that a MOSER would produce! It's pretty uncommon to most amateur and professional boxing as most use the fabled 10-point system. Which I say is fine, but it lacks points for creativity. So this is why you're prone to seeing results like this.

SCHEDULE
BID: March 12-16
Preparation and Roleplay:TBD
M1:TBD (6v3) (7v4) (8v2) (5v1)
M2:TBD (2v5) (1v6) (4v8) (3v7)
M3:TBD (5v4) (8v3) (6v7) (1v2)
M4:TBD (7v8) (4v1) (3v5) (2v6)
M5:TBD (2v4) (5v7) (1v3) (6v8)
M6:TBD (7v1) (3v2) (4v6) (8v5)
M7:TBD (1v7) (8v5) (2v3) (4v6)
M8:TBD (1v8) (6v5) (2v7) (4v3)

UNRELATED RULES
Any nation that wins for their 5th time cannot go to the next Moser
A loss by RSC deducts your points by -0.3
A loss by DSQ deducts your points by -0.4
A loss by RSCI deducts your points by -0.1
A loss by K.O. deducts your points by -0.5
A loss by RSCH deducts your points by -0.15
A win by RSC ups your points by +0.3
A win by DSQ ups your points by +0.4
A win by RSCI ups your points by +0.1
A win by K.O. ups your points by +0.5
A win by RSCH ups your points by +0.15
In case of a tie at the end of the Moser, overall win is determined by tiebreaker
Bid results are determined by use of NationStates polls, at least 1 of 15 nations have to vote
Overall points scored will carry on throughout each Moser, and will determine boxing competitions
Boxers must be at least 11 years old to compete, though there is no minimum training age
It is recommended that Junior boxers do not concede age, weight and experience in a contest. The final decision for any contest is the responsibility of the OIC
A boxer becomes a Senior on his/her 17th birthday. When s/he reaches his/her 40th birthday, he/she will no longer be allowed to box in the Moser
Whichever nation and their representative win a Moser is not allowed to be in the competition for the next Moser unless someone challenges their cup
The winner of the next Moser can challenge the inaugural winner for their cup or decline the offer
You cannot have negative points
Each match a nation and their representation will be barred from match day due to uneven numbers in the round robin. This is viewed as a roleplay opportunity
Points will not be applied each match, but each Moser in fairness. We will secretly be taking notes though for the MOSER 2

I have gladly locked your Sumo signup thread, but this thread also has the same glaring lack of information and administrative problems as that thread did.

How will you, or a selected host, generate the scores for this? Mentioning the word Scorinator a few times doesn't count, I'm afraid.

Duly noted and taken.
I added a section on scorinators and some unrelated rules. I hope this will change it for the better

Just so you're aware, this method of scoring in boxing is now deprecated. All boxing, pro and amateur, now uses the 10-point must system. That said, there's nothing stopping you from using this method. It's just best not to claim "[t]hese are the scores that a modern boxing competition might distribute". If anything, it suggests you probably don't know much about boxing, which then raises the question why you want to run a boxing tournament.

Fixed! The only reason that might be was to put my xkoranate to use by means of this boxing competition to get to know what officiating feels like, if that's your question.

Boxer Desc.

Postby Geektopia » Thu Mar 14, 2019 11:18 am

Boxer: Junn Gugolthra
Size: 5"11, 150 pounds
Lefthandedness: No
Signature: Rear-Naked Choke
Style: 6 - Offensive
Origins: Junn was never a very dedicated boxer in his early days, only inteterested in the sport at age 13, he competed in a few local tournaments and lost all of them. Dubbed "jumbo shrimp" by most, he is 150 pounds and 5"11. Adter that, he'd never gone back to the sport for four years. This time, though it was a new and improved Gugolthra, who had trained every day, had an eagle-eyed coach and improved his physique in doing so. He had also made a name for himself by winning the Absolute Infinity regional championships, and was regarded as "Geektopia's New Aeon". Only a week later then, the nation of Geektopia had decided what to do with its best boxers and made an international contest. Of course, Gugolthra was chosen as a representative for Geektopia, and here he is, in the limelight of his boxing career.

I will also sign up for the MOSER
My boxer:
Name: Barnibus Maximus
Size: 6"2, 285
Handedness: Left
Signature Move: Sleeper Hold
Backstory: He eats potatoes and is confused about his birthplace. He thought he was from another nation. Often called, the "King of Potatoes", a close second would be Jimmy-Dale sausage from Lardsty. He is a long-time sufferer from bipolar disorder and dementia. People claim to have seen him picnicking on the beach in his sundresses, but only in the summertime. We, as a news source, cannot substantiate or disprove this.

BECAUSE ! I just want 3 other nations to qualify, as we're sliding down the forums in popularity faster than an avalanche. These are dire straits! Or maybe, we're tooting our horn too much. I DON'T KNOW! What I know is right though is to help MOSER in it's shadow of obscurity and sign up!

Screw it, I'm reducing this to 8 nations. I am grateful and I have something to show for it. (The original World Cup only had 8 as well, right? Even the greats only had 8.) Yeah, let's do this!

The Principality of Lisander, a sports loving, very highly developed nation in Astyria.
Disappointing people and missing deadlines since 2013.

Name: Sant Gass
Age: 23
Size: 1,88m 99Kg
Primary hand: Right
Signature: Jab
Style: 9 - Very Offensive
Backstory: Gass is not his real surname. Sant was a Homeless man from the neighbouring nation of Elvertia. While pickpocketing through the corpses in the city of Erenmor, during the Great War of Freedom, he found the identification of a soldier with the same name but a different surname. In a desperate search for food, home and a new future, swapped clothes with the deceased men and joined the ranks of Alesarian Army. His farce would soon be discovered, but the new Sant Gass, despite the young age of 19 back in time, was a good soldier, and was kept in the place of the old one by his superiors.
