Time extensions until a submission expires

Postby Sheins » Wed Mar 13, 2019 6:40 pm

Note: this is not a complaint or suggestion, just my opinion.

So a couple days ago I released a GE submission for the "Animal Wellness Act", and after many revisions I finally got it to be legal. The only problem is, I needed support.
After a day I racked in around 7-13 approvals and I was feeling good. The next day I got a bit more and then realized, I didn't have enough time to get all the votes. When it came to two hours left, I got a total of 21 votes and was kinda disappointed. I want to lower the amount of votes needed or extend the expiration time.

OOC:
In short, no. In slightly longer form, if you want more people to notice your proposal, put out a Telegram Campaign. Imperium Anglorum has a useful API called Communique that will help with that, but you will need the Telegram code for your region, ask your Regional Delegate for that. If that seems like too much work, Telegram Stamps are also an option, but cost money.

Also, post your draft here in the GA before you submit.

First, I believe this should go in Technical, not in the GA forum, which is to discuss draft proposals.
Second, I cannot remember an Animal Wellness Act being drafted here in the forum. Proposals submitted without being drafted seldomly garner much approvals.
Third, your proposal not reaching the quorum is not necessarily an indicator for a approval period too short, but more likely for a proposal quality too low.

A good way to garner support for your proposal is to post a draft here before you submit. Doing so gives you a chance to eliminate illegalities, as well as fine tune your proposal so that most members of the WA find it acceptable. The more members that are aware, the better the chances you have of getting through.

OOC:
I now see that you actually submitted it several times, changing it with every instance. This process should happen here in the forums, not via submission and GenSec declaring illegality. Also, a legal proposal is not the same as a good one. Your final and legal proposal still lacks in many regards and reads weird.

Read the rules to avoid illegalities, read passed resolutions to get an idea what a good resolution looks like, come up with an idea, post the draft here, and then work with the community. That is the correct way of writing proposals.

Not going to happen. I'm leaving this here (rather than moving it to technical) since you've been given solid advice for successful drafting of a WA proposal, but locking. Also submitting and resubmitting your illegal proposal until it is legal is spam, please draft on the forums in the future or you will be in danger of losing you WA membership privileges in the future entirely.
