It's hard to wrap one's head around what happened here, but what I gathered from it:

ICE set up a fake university in order to lure in illegal immigrants in order to deport them. When you get a student visa, you are supposed to be enrolled in a real university. Since Farmington is a fake university, every student who was enrolled there didn't comply with the terms of the visa, and were therefore guilty of an immigration infraction. As such, they are all being deported.

Many students took out loans in their home countries in order to come to the US and study at Farmington, meaning that ICE basically invited those people to commit immigration infractions by making the trap.

I feel that this is a perfect example of entrapment. Of course, since their immigration violations are civil violations, not criminal violations, entrapment doesn't really matter.

This has to be illegal. What the fuck is happening to this country? If anyone, the ICE officials responsible should be thrown in prison for fraud.

It isn't but at least there being honest about it, plus if we are running a deficit might as well help the poor.

Or use that loan to invest in sciences, art, infrastructure, ect.

I'd vote for anyone who says they would run a deficit if they use that loan to advance there space program, cure cancer, fusion experiments, ect.
