In light of New South Wales' new trains without reversable seats, would an issue about reversable train seats be an interesting enough topic to write about?

Okay, hold up. Before we address whether this is an important enough concern for the government to address, what are reversible seats and why should anyone, let alone the government, care about them?

Hmm... okay. How about the minister of transport wants to bring in non-reversable seats on the new trains, and the people, who are used to reversable seats, protest?

I think you're just saying the same thing over and over. And it's "reversible" by the way.

By context, I mean why is the government involved, and why is it an interesting dilemma? Why would the presence or absence of reversible seats have any importance or interest?

You may as well be asking the government to intervene because people are complaining that the local cinema has dropped its toffee popcorn line. These sorts of issues just aren't issues.

Is there an issue about racial profiling? I haven't seen it mentioned once.

I'm pretty sure there's multiple issues about bigtopians being profiled and generally discriminated against and so on.

Backstage, the stats are actually different to one of the "your brother" issues. There is nothing that says that speakers will not paint their opinions in the most flattering light.

Besides-which, referenda being ignored is more of a side issue. The ultimate indication of whether you have democracy in NS is whether the voters vote for candidates (the description of autocracy says: "The nation does not hold democratic elections"), which they do not here.

And you can cancel your Autocracy policy in the future. The are many options to reinstate democracy; ten issues, one of the higher rates for reversals in the game. One will come along at some point.

Okay... I still think it's a bit obtuse but I apologize for being tetchy, I got back to democracy within 10 issues anyway. I guess it just means I can't to build back up to 5%.

Anyway, I thought I better ask about this issue, since I came unstuck last time, it's in "A Debatable Question", response being;

In the particular case of the option you quoted, no. That isn't giving voters the power to decide more things, it's just making them decide the things they already can decide "for themselves", with less information to go on.

I've been on various trains and other forms of public transport, and I don't recall having ever seen reversible seats. This doesn't appear to have ever been a problem.

I've seen them on a few trains here in the UK. They're useful when the layout of rail lines means that carriages get sent on the opposite heading without getting turned around (for example, when a train that can be driven from both ends enters & then leaves a terminus, along the same line, without being turned) and some passengers want to continue facing forwards.

In hindsight, I should probably be posting here more often some of my ideas and whether they'd be worth pursuing,
seeing as that's perhaps the biggest reason for my draft abandonment rate.

1) Sure!
2) Not really, there must be a cutoff point and it should be enforced better
3) ABORTION BAD! BAN BOO!
4) Hey y'know, parents do stuff for their kids, why not let them take place after birth too? (fun)

^ Definitely a brutal topic that I myself am probably not qualified for, but I think it could be a worthwhile issue.

Idea #2: Something involving Jussie Smollett and other similar hate crime hoaxes
1) It was spreading hate crime awareness!
2) This person reported a fake crime and should be charged for it!
3) The real crime was they were so bad at it. Lets turn this around and say the police really falsified the evidence. That'll really promote equality!

I've been contemplating an issue about something similar (but not quite as extreme), but I've gotten stuck on the fact that the basic pro- and anti-abortion arguments have been rehashed so much that it's hard to present them in a way that isn't just saying "yeah that".

I see what you're getting at, but I don't think it would work that way.

Instead maybe you should present it asking the question if you want tourists to be able to visit your residency, and then save something like this as the punchline if the players choose yes. Though, y'know, presented in a less puerile way.

On an unrelated topic: Could someone remind me which NPC is the vaguely German one? Marche Noire? I want to do a German-themed issue riffing on people that attach Nazi connotations to totally innocent bits of German language and culture.
