The target legislation needlessly complicates legal matters by forcing a committee review of the previous trial's verdicts. This implies that the Division is, in some way, shape, or form, masters in not only legal matters internationally, but also in court precedings, law, regulations, ethics, and penal system for each and every single member state of the World Assembly, which currently stands at 24,156 individual governments, each with their own laws and codes regarding everything from depositions, procedures, ethics, conduct, attire, legal precedence, judicial oversight, legal precedence...

I fail to see how this Division could handle such cases. It also requires that criminal groups facing the death penalty must be tried separately and, if charged with the same crime, stagger their cases by over a year for each criminal.

Despicable, and nonsensical. It completely removes the ability to have a speedy trial.

My understanding is that the admissibility of evidence does not ipso facto mean that all evidence will be accorded equal and persuasive weight. Therefore, though the target resolution may allow the admission of "unverifiable, nonexistent, or outright fabricated evidence", it does not mandate that the courts treat said evidence as accurate or true. Rules of admissibility exist in many jurisdictions, at least in significant part, to prevent the court from being swamped with irrelevant evidence and thus delaying a trial. These rules do not mandate that courts give a certain weight to evidence (which is normally an inquiry conducted during a trial after evidence has been submitted and accepted). As a result, it appears to me that the reasoning of this sub-clause is somewhat flawed. If the Ambassador could clarify her intent with regards to this, I would greatly appreciate it."

"Guaranteed support from our side for this one. The whole "one capital case per million people on annual basis" ordeal is way too restrictive for our liking, not to mention that every individual case has to be brought before the Capital Cases Division first, in turn heavily slowing down every individual case before trials have even properly started. And yes, I do understand that this is most likely going to sound quite controversial to some, and might unsurprisingly lead to accusations of being heartless or something similar, but to be frank, seeing this repealed would be a great help in our constant fight against piracy within the lanes of our outer systems, something that often involves perpetrators that have broken enough laws to deserve the death penalty several times over."
