Greetings friends and distinguished comrades,
On behalf of the Department of Foreign Affairs, allow me to welcome you to the official Embassy Programme for the Republic of Councils in Calliana. This Programme, established in the interests of solidarity, understanding and cooperation between all peoples, seeks to open our nation's doors to nations from all corners of the globe and unite us all in the spirit of faith and goodwill.
As a young nation, we believe it is imperative for the future of our republic to extend the olive branch towards all those willing to accept. The time for armed struggle has passed us, and the time for diplomacy and peace has arrived. We hope that many nations of the globe will find themselves sharing in these sentiments.
For nations wishing to engage in formal diplomatic relations, you will find an application form below. This form must be completed to the satisfaction of reviewing parties of the Department of Foreign Affairs and may be rejected at the Department's discretion. We do look forward to future relations between our respective peoples.

Short Overview of Calliana
Calliana is a federal, constitutional, socialist republic located in the northeast of North America. Home to 102.523 million Callianans, we are a proud and historic people, tracing our roots to the native inhabitants of the Americas and Norse explorers. At a time, our people once exercised dominion over much of North America, although a series of conflicts with other colonial empires gave birth to our modern borders. In 2015, a popular revolt overthrew the Callianan Monarchy and gave birth to our current Republican Government. Lead by President Thomas Wiker of the Socialist Revolutionary Party, our people hold the principles of egalitarianism, tolerance, solidarity and self-determination to be sacrosanct.
From Varden, our beautiful capital overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, our government exercises jurisdiction over 12 States and 2 Semi-Autonomous Territories, home to a multitude of indigenous and settler cultures and ethnicities. Our official language is English, although we pride ourselves on a multicultural heritage, and are home to many smaller language families including Norwester Callianan, Cree, Inuktitut, Ojibwe, Dene, Oji-Cree and many others.
Our economy, following a model of market socialism, industrial democracy and worker self-management, is dominated by heavy industry, automobile production, timber and forestry, mining and oil extraction, although with our present government's commitment to environmentalism green technology has seen a significant boost in recent years. Major imports include foodstuffs and information technology.
Embassy Rules and Regulations
We do not wish to impose unreasonable restrictions on nations applying to the Embassy Programme, however in the interests of security a number of rules and regulations must be enforced. Should any applicants have concerns or questions regarding the rules they are welcome to ask.
- Total embassy staff must not exceed 100 personnel, of which no more than 20 may be designated security staff.
- Weapons used by security staff are limited to melee weapons (such as batons, shields) tasers, pistols and intermediate-calibre rifles. Explosives, machine guns, recoilless rifles, rocket/grenade launchers, chemical weapons and/or weapons of mass destruction are strictly prohibited. Any weapons found in violation of regulations are subject to be confiscated by authorities.
- Armed vehicles (i.e. tanks, armoured fighting vehicles, armoured cars, attack helicopters etc.) are strictly prohibited. Embassies are limited to 15 road vehicles.
- Aircraft may be registered at local airports, but may not be stored on embassy grounds.
- Diplomatic staff are granted immunity, but the Callianan government may demand individuals return to their home country.
- At present, all embassies will be constructed in the Government Quarter in Varden.
