Vice. Everyone should see this and it should sweep the Oscars. "We have met the enemy and he is us."

We're not going to control the pandemic!

It is a slaughter and not just a political dispute.

"The scraps of narcissism, the rotten remnants of conspiracy theories, the offal of sour grievance, the half-eaten bits of resentment flow by. They do not cohere. But they move in the same, insistent current of self, self, self."

Bohemian Rhapsody.

It's truly astonishing that there are still people out there who argue about whether the Beatles or the Rolling Stones were better when neither can hold a candle to the likes of Queen or ABBA

Black Panther

I avoided watching this when it initially came out because it was so overhyped, but it was alright.

A second attempt at watching 21 grams, didn't last half an hour again, irritating bollocks.

OTOH, being a massive fan of the manga, seeing Nova at the end made me hard.

... I'm also a massive fan of Nova. The, uh, drastic changes in the film concerning him notwithstanding.

Though I do understand that for people who watch it without foreknowledge, the reaction can easily be quite different from the hype I experienced.

The Iron Giant

I don't know how I haven't heard of this movie but it was awesome! Funny bits, emotional scenes, beautiful animation, great messages. I love the robot character and the ending was so good.

They Shall Not Grow Old. Very impressive and stunning movie. I immensely enjoyed it.
Depressing Nordic semi-socialist commonwealth filled with Lovecraftian horrors, man-eating fox people, Finns, bizarre accents, Saabs, and Volvos.

there are still people out there who think of the Beatles as the band Paul McCartney was in before Wings.

Downrange, a kind of horror/thriller with a sniper targeting a group of people on a road trip. Pretty effective, well made and kind of bleak. Though I couldn't help wondering about the sniper's motivation.

I rewatched Aliens the other day. Man that movie is awesome.

Well, that was just wrong.

Also, just saw Roma. Pretty deserving of all its praise, I'd say. Started out kinda slow but really grabbed my attention, though the language barrier didn't help.

Bohemian Rhapsody. Tossing out a question here, do men who have sex with men not use their tongues when they kiss? Asking for a friend...

Did you find American Psycho and The House That Jack Built boring?
