Welcome to Kylaris!

We are a self-contained Modern Tech RP region who strives to create outstanding stories and immersive RPs through regional cooperation. Kylaris was founded in 2015 has continued to evolve since. During this time, the region has seen a number of roleplays which can be founded listed in our Roleplays Index. There is also a regional News Thread where current events unravel. The region maintains an active presence on iiWiki with an extensive network of articles contributing to regional lore.

Getting Started

Kylaris is always looking for new members. Those interested in joining the region need to complete an application. Applicants need approval before entering the region. New applications are discussed by the Chancellor and the Lore Advisers, who are available to assist with applications as needed. If you have any questions, feel free to join our Discord server. In addition, we also have a Help Sheet to assist in the application process. The Help Sheet has usual information about Kylaris' canon and the world we have created. The application can be found below.

National information
Official Name: Mormaerdom of Caithia (Caithian: Tir Ynys Cyth)
Shortened Name: Caithia (Caithian: Ynys Cyth)
Requested Location: Something like these islands, tiny.
Requested Population: 46,000
Culture: Old Brythonic; with Normano-Irish influences thanks to the Glytteronian occupation rule.
Government Type: Constitutional Monarchy (Autonomous Region/Dependency of Glytter)
Head of State: Mormaer Kenneth IV, Governor Órla Ní Fhlannagáin
Head of Government: Truthsayer Duane ap Drummond
Requested GDP Per Capita: $20,192
National Overview: The ancient twin isles of Caithia have stood for countless generation, hosting woad-wearing wights screaming profanities at passing explorers. That was, at least, until the islands subsumption into Glytter upon the arrival of the Verique invaders in the 1200s. The Verique rulers of Glytter easily defeated the local resistance, appointing their King as Mormaer of the islands. For the next countless centuries, the islands were ruled as any other county of Glytter; the local Caithian people repressed. In the 1900s, however, a Caithian national consciousness began to arrive; culminating in the 1977 Caithian Home Rule Bill, which granted the islands limited autonomy within Glytter's diplomatic sphere. A Governor was appointed, and a Truthsayer elected. Since then, the islands have had political games between unionists and pro-independence parties.

Social views:
  • General population's view on gay rights/gay people: Similar to their sovereigns in Glytter, there is little stigma attached to homosexuality; there is a strong distaste towards transsexualism, however, from religious peoples.
  • General population's view on religions other than the primary one: Generally poor; there are few outside religions present in Caithia, and as a result all opinion of foreign faiths have been created from prejudice alone.
  • General population's view on atheism: Poor; see above. Additionally, atheists are usually viewed as pro-Ghaillish, and discriminated against by pro-independence groups.
  • General population's view on abortion: Abortion is viewed as a cardinal sin, but in line with Glytteronian laws, is permitted in most circumstances.
  • View on other races/ethnic groups other than the primary one(s): There is a mixed view. Pro-unionist groups show an affinity towards their Ghaillish cousins; pro-independent groups however see them as outside invaders.
  • Any big prejudices in your nation: See above. Unionists hate independence activists, independence activists hate Ghaills and Unionists.
  • View on immigration into country: Immigration is not seen as a problem; although some radical independence groups disavow Ghaillish immigrants.
  • Women's Rights: Generally good; as with Glytter, Caithia has had a history of better-than-average women's rights.
  • Views on tobacco/alcohol/pot/other drugs: Mixed. Religious groups tend to be opposed, but Glytteronian laws mean most drugs are legalised.

Other:
  • Factbook: Working on it!
  • RP Preferences: Character-driven.
  • RP Samples: yeah yeah
  • RP Intentions: Worldbuilding
  • Primary/Other NS Nations: Tinza
  • Any troubles with moderation? (If so, a link, please.): Nah
  • Anything else?: xoxoxox

National information
Official Name: The Liberal Republic of Cialdinia
Shortened Name: Cialdinia
Requested Location: The unnamed place in red
Requested Population: 52,825,936
Culture: Cialdinia is primarily a nation of ethnic and cultural Etrurians (Vesperians), with small populations of Gaullicans and Native groups.
  • Ethnicity: Vesperians (81%), Native groups (10%), Gaullicans (6%), Other (3%)
  • Religion: Catholicism
  • Languages: Cialdinia has a single official language, that being Etrurian (Vesperian?), however the unofficial use of Gaullican and native languages continues in communities of these people
Government Type: Unitary Presidential Republic.

At the core of the democratic system in Cialdinia, every citizen is granted an equal vote in the national elections. The citizens do not vote for the First Servant of State (the Cialdinian name for the President), but for the party they wish to see in power, who in turn then nominate a member from their ranks to take the position of First Servant. Limited to a maximum of two terms resignation is only possible by the Servant's death or public referenda impeaches them, and this referenda is only allowed after 2 year of the 5 year term. If impeached, the Servant is removed from the Senate, which a by-election occurring in their constituency to elect a new official, while the Party nominates a new Servant. The First Servant is empowered to form a cabinet in which to run the nation's government and guide it how they see fit. Due to a period of Caudillo politics, opposition parties are granted constitutional existence and cannot be dissolved by a sitting party or Servant. Despite the constitutional guarantee of voting for all Cialdinian citizens, there exist a number of obstacles that can deter or prevent native or minority group members from voting in government, with an unspoken rule that native people cannot run or sit in the Senate.
Head of State: GiovannI Cagnola, First Servant of State
Head of Government: GiovannI Cagnola, First Servant of State
[*]Requested GDP Per Capita: $10,391
National Overview: Cialdinia is a unitary presidential republic. The chief executive is the First Servant of State who is both head of state and head of government, who also serves as the military commander-in-chief and chief diplomat. Executive power is exercised by the President. Legislative power is vested in the National Senate.

The National Senate is the legislative branch of the federal government. It is bicameral, comprising the Chamber of Senators and the Chamber of the Revolutionaries. The Chamber of Senators acts as the upper house of the government, however they posses very little voting power compared to the Chamber of the Revolutionaries, being of people elected via public petition for a perceived expertise of a subject deemed important to the nation. No Senators are allowed to be publicly part of any political party, due to the fact the Chamber is declared internationally neutral, and also as its purpose is to revise and critique any bills passed by the Chamber of the Revolutionaries. The Chamber has a maximum of 120 members. Chamber of the Revolutionaries is made up of 150 members, who are elected from established constituencies. The Chamber is responsible for the formation of bills and the voting of them, as well as the nomination of the First Servant.

The territory now known as Cialdinia was colonized by [ETRURIAN STATE] in 1632 amid resistance from indigenous peoples. The expansion of the colonial state was riddled by a wide array of horrific crimes, which often riddled the colonial administration with shock and controversy when news arrived in Euclea, however the distance prevented any meaningful difference to be made to stop it. The spread of revolutionary and republican ideals arrived in Cialdinia, then known as Nuovo Carintha, leading the the Liberal Rebellion of 1792, a three year war between the Liberals (those who wished for Independence) and Unionists (those that wished to stay). Eventually a compromise was reached, with the nation being divided between a new independent state and a colonial state. Named Cialdinia, after Lorenzo Cialdini, the leader of the revolution who had been killed only two weeks before the compromise was agreed upon. Wishing to prevent appearing weak in the preying eyes of their former colonial masters, the new state began to align itself with Gaullican colonies in Asteria Inferior as a means to defend itself, especially as internal wars between Cialdinian authorities and native peoples would give Eturia the chance to retake their colony.

The outbreak of the Great War gave Cialdinia the chance it needed to unite the nation, joining the Gaullican-led Entente. While fighting was intense, the defeat of Gaullica and the Entente proved too great a loss for unification hopes, leading to the defeat of Cialdinia. It wasn't until the Solarian War that Cialdinia invaded again, this time successfully taking control of the colony and uniting the two under the banner of Cialdinia. Having relied on Satucin help during the war, it wasn't long until Manuel da Sangallo, a Satucin-backed figure before and during the Unification period, forcibly took power over the nation. His rule, while beneficial to Vesperian Cialdinians, proved disastrous for all others, with the number of native refugees fleeing the country nearly doubling during his 30 year reign. Remaining in power until the late 1980s, he willingly stepped down in light of the rising Liberalisation Movement that wished to see a return to the democratic republic before de Sangallo.

Social views:
  • General population's view on gay rights/gay people: Tolerated, however considered some form of taboo to be openly proud about it
  • General population's view on religions other than the primary one: Poor, especially native religions
  • General population's view on atheism: Poor
  • General population's view on abortion: Poor
  • View on other races/ethnic groups other than the primary one(s): Positive relations with other Vesperian ethnic groups, as well as colonial Gaullicans, however they harbour distrust and dislike for native peoples
  • Any big prejudices in your nation Cialdinians hold prejudices against the remaining native populations, due to an education system that has taught them that the land belongs to the Cialdinians, as well as prejudices against their former colonial masters, due to the colonial past.
  • View on immigration into country: Supports immigration from other Vesperian nations and the Eturians homeland, but not from those that aren't in the new World or Vesperian.
  • Women's Rights: While women are permitted to vote, they have no means in which they can hold political office or be elected. Generally poor in this regard.
  • Views on tobacco/alcohol/pot/other drugs:Permits the use of tobacco and alcohol, however it associates pot and other drugs with native groups, leading to the Cialdinian Drug War

[b]Shortened Name:
Damat
Requested Location: Namkwon territory (and island to the south, if possible)
Requested Population: ~210 million
Culture: Southeast asian culture, basically. Vietnamese culture is the dominant one. Siamati culture is extremely influential, but there is also cambodian and laoese culture as minorities.
  • Ethnicity: Damati (vietnamese), Siamati, Cambodian, Laoese
  • Religion: Satysim
  • Languages: Vietnamese is the national and official language. Cambodian, Laoese are recognized regional languages, with no official status. Siamati language is widely spoken, but its not recognized by the government.
Government Type: Unitary parliamentary constitutional monarchy
Head of State: King Trần Đăng Khương
Head of Government: Prime Minister Phan Huy Hoàng
[*]Requested GDP Per Capita: ~13,000 PPP/ 6,000 nominal
National Overview: (A brief summary of your nation's general history, political ideology, and society.)

After the fall of the Truong Dynasty, Damat rebuilt itself into a new country. The following years were challenging for the new Tran Dynasty, as the Siamat issue started to grow. Songguo’s support for the new king was essential -- it strengthened the ties between both countries even more. Despite Siamati indepedence and a few rebellions, the Tran Dynasty managed to keep Damat organized and united. Nowadays, Damat is a thriving nation full of potential, but currently facing old enemies in the 2016 Siamat crisis.

Damat is right wing economy. It sticks to its traditional values in both society and economy. Very protective towards non allies. Fairly open to neutral nations, but extremely friendly with allies such as Songguo.

Damati society sticks to its traditions. National holidays are often had as big time to celebrate old habits. Older generations are more conservatives in regard to minorities. Younger generations are more open to it, even though they are still immerse in a society of strong moral and tradition.

Social views:
  • General population's view on gay rights/gay people: Tolerated, but it is not well seen in more traditional families or among elderly people.
  • General population's view on religions other than the primary one: Tolerated
  • General population's view on atheism: Poor
  • General population's view on abortion: Poor
  • View on other races/ethnic groups other than the primary one(s):
  • Any big prejudices in your nation: Prejudice is held against Siamati people or of descent. Bahians are not well seen either.
  • View on immigration into country: Poor, even though tourism is appreciated.
  • Women's Rights: Even though the traditional women role in Damati society is very clear, they have right to vote and all freedoms men have. However, some men might not appreciate a full independent woman, as conservatism is still a thing among society.
  • Views on tobacco/alcohol/pot/other drugs:
tobacco and alcohol are permitted. Other drugs are vehemently prohibited.

National information
Official Name: Workers' Republic of the Pirievines Islands
Shortened Name: Pirievines Islands, sometimes referred to by their former name Petrines Islands
Requested Location: The small island chain north of Marolevia, made 25% larger if allowed
Requested Population: Within the 6-10 million range
Culture: Originating from mainland Marolevian culture, with a few traces of the earlier inhabitants' culture, but maintaining the revolutionary flavour and pushing it even further after independence
  • Ethnicity: A common Pirievines identity has been promoted with success since independence, although the majority of the population descends from Grubalevian, Masskian and Marosenkians settlers.
  • Religion: Mostly irreligious, with Marolevian Epismialism retaining only a minor presence.
  • Languages: Grubalevian is the language of the state and of a majority of the population. Masskian and Marosenkians are spoken in some settlements too.
Government Type: Constitutionally socialist syndicalist republic
Head of State: President Vsevolod Zakrevsky
Head of Government: Premier Radmila Kuznetsova
Requested GDP Per Capita: ~50k PPP, ~30k nominal
National Overview: The Pirievines islands have been populated on and off for over a thousand years, first sparsely by Marolevs and !North Germanic people. It would be a member of the Marolevic Commonwealth on and off, profiting from the circum-Euclean trade and diminish into irrelevancy when the latter faded. Conquered by the newly formed Empire of Marolevia in the 18th century, it would soon grow to be more intensely settled with the discovery of mineral wealth(?), a situation that would continue and even intensify under the Marolevic Syndicalist Union, under which it would prove itself to be one of the more revolutionary workers' republic, even renaming themselves after local revolutionary Arkady Piriev.

When syndicalist rule on the mainland fell, the charismatic Admiral Sergey Gorsky helped the Pirievines authorities maintain control with the loyalty to him of the numerous Marolevic forces stationed on the archipelago. While Marolevia fell into political chaos, the islands enjoyed kept enjoying a relative prosperity, remaining nominally a part of Marolevia despite the central government having no say whatsoever on the islands. A few years later, the fledgling Tsarist government would attempt to re-enforce its authority by force: their first rushed invasion, reliant on the expectation of an uprising in their favour, failed in the face of well-motivated and well-prepared Pirievines forces. The second invasion would never take place, as the situation degenerated further over leftover Marolevic nuclear weapons, causing the international community to intervene, forcing both sides into negotiations that would result in nuclear disarmament of the archipelago and a Marolevic recognition of the "Pirievines authorities" but not of their independence.

Although in many ways the institutions of the Pirievines have been reformed after independence, it remains committed to the socialist ideals and in many ways have doubled down on several aspects, especially social ones. Inheriting its status as one of the most prosperous republic of syndicalist Marolevia and maintaining it throughout the chaos, the Pirievines now find themselves stuck in a complicated dynamic between pursuing its revolutionary aspirations ever further, the necessary militarisation to face off the existential threat to the south, and a vested interest in not alienating possible allies. Not helping its already fragile relations with Marolevia are a number of territorial disputes over minor rocks between the islands the continent.

Social views:
  • General population's view on gay rights/gay people: LGBT rights are good, and the general population is majoritarily accepting of them.
  • General population's view on religions other than the primary one: All religions are pretty much dismissed equally, but Epismialism is associated with mainland Marolevia and shunned down even harder.
  • General population's view on atheism: Very positive and pretty much necessary to social success.
  • General population's view on abortion: Allowed in all cases and widely seen an obvious human right.
  • View on other races/ethnic groups other than the primary one(s): Racism isn't prevalent and is actively condemned.
  • Any big prejudices in your nation: Anything related to the Marolevian Tsarist government is disliked, to put it lightly.
  • View on immigration into country: Generally accepted on ideological grounds.
  • Women's Rights: Equality between the genders is generally present and is actively enforced.
  • Views on tobacco/alcohol/pot/other drugs: Soft drugs are legalised and more generally drugs are are decriminalised, although all of them remain strictly controlled and state campaigns against use are quite frequent.
Other:
  • Factbook: Not yet but I guarantee it will contain more than the introductory paragraphs this time.
  • RP Preferences: Character driven and diplomatic.
  • RP Samples: Uh you know me but ask me if you really want.
  • RP Intentions: Worldbuild and roleplay, in the order but including both.
  • Primary/Other NS Nations: I've elected on limiting my NS commitment to this nation only.
  • Any troubles with moderation? (If so, a link, please.): I do remember a very minor incident years ago which has no bearings today whatsoever.
  • Anything else?: Please tell the regional mapmaker that she sucks.

National information
Official Name: Piraean Republic
Shortened Name: Piraea
Requested Location: Artis' spot
Requested Population:13,645,000 (2019 estimate)
Culture: Piraea is culturally and linguistically Greek. There are a number of regional dialects and some strong regional identities persist. However, they are considered to be sub-groups of the greater Piraean ethnic group. Regional identities that exist and need to be named include: Cretan, Rhodesian, and maybe Macedonian. Epismialism (Orthodoxy) is the dominate faith.
  • Ethnicity:
    • Piraeans 84%
    • Carinthian 11%
    • Others 5%
  • Religion: High Epismialist Church
  • Languages: Piraese (Greek) is the dominate language and is the official language of the state. There are regional dialects of the language that exist throughout the country and enjoy a special status in their governates. Carinthian is spoken by the corresponding minority group but does not have any special status.
Government Type: Unitary parliamentary republic
Head of State: President Pavlos Kassapidis
Head of Government: Prime Minister Maria Theopeftatou
Requested GDP Per Capita:
  • PPP - 2019 estimate $27,664 per capita
  • Nominal - 2019 estimate $15,137 per capita
National Overview: The modern Piraean state emerged following the Treaty of Savona, which saw the Grand Principality of Alikianos established. The Grand Duchy consisted of the bulk of Piraean territory. However, some was held by the neighboring Kingdom of Vespasia, which had previously established dominion over much of Piraea's modern borders in the years leading up to the Pereramonic Wars. Following the October Uprising, which saw ethnic Piraeans revolt against Vespasian rule, the Kingdom of the Piraese was established following the diplomatic intervention of the Euclean powers. Its borders were expanded to include all of modern day Piraea and Tarpeia. A right-wing government took power in the years leading up to the Great War. Etruria's entry to the Great War saw Piraea declare support for Gaullica, joining the Entente. It was defeated and Tarpeia was awarded to Etruria. The monarch was forced to abdicate and the Guiokas Regency began. Weranic plans to put a minor royal on the Piraese throne never came to fruition and the country remained in a period of regency.

The Kingdom was left significantly weakened by the Great War and a low intensity civil war began between the government and republican and communist rebels in 1938. The Etrurian Revolutionary Republic invaded Piraea, triggering the Solarian War. The country was unprepared for the war and the Guiokas government was ousted following a military coup. The defeat of Etruria in the Solarian War sees the First Republic declared in 1948. The establishment of the First Republic brought an end to the civil war, however many of the militias did not disband and instead became paramilitary groups. There was no real established democratic system in Piraea which caused problems for the republic. The country attempted to join the Euclean Community but was rejected as it did not meet the EC's standards. Successive governments identified this as a priority and began to implement reforms to meet entry requirements, but where thwarted by corruption and cronyism. The 1960 establishment of the military government in Etruria worried many within the armed forces, who had little faith in the ability of the republic to effectively resist Etruria should another war break out. In 1961 the military staged a coup, the second in Piraea's Post-War history. The military government began a severe crack down on civil liberties and heavily censored the media, bringing it all under state control. Labor unions were also cracked down on with many forcibly disbanded. Most leftist parties were outlawed, including the Piraese Socialist Worker's Movement. The leftist paramilitary groups that did not disband following the war mobilized and triggered another low intensity civil war, beginning in 1967. The conflict lasted for several years resulting in a number of violent confrontation, kidnappings and terrorist attacks. Global economic downturn in the 1970s/80s presented significant problems for the military government, which collapsed when students began to occupy universities throughout the country. The government sent in troops to confront the students. However, many of the soldiers were young conscripts and did not wish to fire upon the students, with many conscripts instead declaring loyalty to the students. The Piraese Socialist Worker's Movement, which had previously been sent underground, called for a general strike of all workers. Many workers refused to show up to work or began to occupy their places of work. The military government, fearful of a violent communist revolution, collapsed.

The Second Republic was established soon after (specific date TBD). It has since been dominated by the Piraese Socialist Worker's Movement, a broad coalition of the left. Successive socialist governments radically changed Piraea, turning it unto a modern Euclean country and Piraea became a functioning democracy for the first time in its history. The party has only been unseated twice by the leading opposition party, an Epismialist Sotirian Democratic party. Due to the almost de-facto one-party state, corruption and cronyism is not uncommon. However, a number of different governments have tried to combat corruption, both successfully and unsuccessfully. The government tried to join the EC again and applied alongside Etruria. It's bid was strongly supported by Gaullica, Florena, and Amathia. However, the 2016 Etrurian referendum saw support for enlargement dry up and Werania and Estmere effectively blocked Piraea's application. Despite this, Piraea has actively worked to maintain close relations with the EC and has generally been aligned diplomatically with Florena and Gaullica. As the Tribunes have Tarpeia has remained a consistent issue between the increasingly nationalist and authoritarian Etrurian government and Piraea.

Social views:
  • General population's view on gay rights/gay people: The issue remains very touchy. Same-sex marriage was controversially legalized as Piraea prepared to join the EC, but adoption for same-sex couples has not been. Rights for transgender and non-binary citizens are severely limited. It is very hard to change legal gender. The Epismialist Church and party are both strongly opposed to LGBT+ rights and call for the reversal of same-sex marriage's legalization. In rural areas, it is incredibly taboo and many LGBT+ people opt to remain in the closet.
  • General population's view on religions other than the primary one:Many have a strong sense of Epismialist identity. However, there is a broad acceptance of other Sotirian faiths. Non-Sotirian religions are met with suspicion.
  • General population's view on atheism: A significant number of urbanites and socialists are atheists, or at the very least secular. Met with suspicion in rural areas.
  • General population's view on abortion: Abortion is only available if the life of the mother is at risk, with many Epismialists being opposed to any abortion access.
  • View on other races/ethnic groups other than the primary one(s):Most Euclean groups are accepted. However, the Vespasians are met with suspicion and are generally viewed negatively. This is not always extended to the other ethnic groups in Etruria. However, the Carinthian minority is under growing suspicion amid rising concerns they may support their territories seceding to join Etruria.
  • Any big prejudices in your nation:
  • View on immigration into country:Immigration remains fairly taboo. The working class is strongly opposed to migrant labor while the middle class is mixed. The upper class generally favors migration. It is not uncommon for undocumented immigrants to be hired by the upper class.
  • Women's Rights: Women are treated equal under the law and enjoy extensive legal rights.
  • Views on tobacco/alcohol/pot/other drugs: Tobacco is legalized and widely used. Similar with alcohol. All other recreational drugs are outlawed.

National information
Official Name: The Transtsabaran Federation
Shortened Name: 'Tsabara', occasionally referred to as 'Land of Heaven' (Ardu Aljana?)
Requested Location: We are aware where Tsabara is on the map.
Requested Population: 59,000,000 ~
Culture: There is no single cultural group in Tsabara. In fact, it is an incredibly multicultural state owing to it being on a major trade lane, fertile land, a religious holy land for multiple religions and having seen numerous conquerors and occupiers throughout history. There is no single culture, either, rather, a host of cultures with separate traditions and ideals. Some generalisations can be made: on the coast a more urban culture is present, concerned with commercialism, whereas in land is host to the traditions of religions and agricultural society. Numerous languages are used and officially respected.
  • Ethnicity: Badawiyan (42%), Atudite (34%), Öroqic (7% - Khataghic/Turkic group), Suhalan (5% - Tunisian-Romance conlang), Drapeuntes (4% - Pied-Noirs), Gaiban (3% - Dom/Nawar), Larsam (3%), Den (2%)
  • Religion: There is a slight majority of Mumims in Tsabara, numbering somewhere between 50 - 55% of the population. Secondly comes Atudaism, at around 35%~ of the population. Various forms of Sotirianity, notably Paulicans and Solarian Catholicism, are present collectively at around 6-7% of the population. A fraction of the percentage of the population are thought to still practice traditional folk religions, not too dissimilar from Canaanite worship of Baal Hammon.
  • Languages: Badawiyan, Gaullican and Estmerish are regarded as official languages owing to the largest make-up of the nation and their capabilities to serve as 'neutral languages.' Hebrew! is the second most spoken language, and was regarded as official until relatively recently - owing to part of the tensions. Numerous minority languages exist; such as equivalents to African-Romance and Berber languages.
Government Type: Officially a consociational federal republic, with a semi-elected legislature (tricarmel, with the first and third bodies of government being elected. The second, created by Tughluq, is a house of religious representatives -- dis-proportionally favouring Mumims.)
Head of State: President Atwan al-Tughluq
Head of Government: Safar al-Aboud
Requested GDP Per Capita: $17,500.
National Overview: What comprises of Tsabara has been a cross-roads and important centre of culture exchange and development for millennia. Encompassing the vast majority of the north-western Bahian 'Fertile Coast', Tsabara has been colonised by the Solarian Empire, the Farsi Empire, Verliquois, numerous Caliphates and Sultanates, Crusader States - and, most impactful for the current century, the Gaullican Empire.

The Gaullican Empire viewed coastal Tsabara -- the Holy Land -- as a department and extension of the Gaullican State when it was conquered in 1814. They funded it, colonised it and aimed to turn it into an ethnic extension of their own nation. Such developments came with an urbanised coast, a strong maritime industry and a large focus on manufacturing and 'exotic' agriculture. The department, semi-officially referred to as 'Outremer', was to become an important hub in the empire. So much so that the Gaullicans built a Coius-crossing railway from Adunis on the coastal west, to Saint Germaine on the coastal east. This railway, the 'Ship of the Sand', served an important function in the colonial progress of Gaullica's empire. So much so, it is still in existence today.

Following Gaullica's defeat at the end of the Great War, colonial Tsabara and the department of Outremer were turned into Community of Nation mandates before being directly given to the Estmerish Colonial Office. Soon enough, in the late 1930s, the Estmerish set up a fledgling republic entrusted to the Drapeuntes (catch all term for Euclean settlers, mainly Gaullicans) and Atudites. The early frameworks of an apartheid state were set up. Badawiyans and other ethnic minorities were de facto second class citizens who had minimal access to voting rights and government services.

So dire was their situation that the Badawayian tribesman in the Asafiyhan hinterlands found an unlikely ally in General Lagarde, and the two allied in guerrilla opposition to the new republic.

This government collapsed following invasion by Etruria during the Solarian War and was replaced by a weak CN-backed government. This new government succumbed to a ‘socialist revolution’ after a group of young military officers organized a coup and seized power.

The Proclamation of the 'People's Republic of Transtsabara' was met with hostility, and a low-level civil conflict began for almost forty years.

Forty years later, in the 1990s, the PRT succumbed to its own internal fragmentation and foreign influence and assistance to the republican rebels. Aided by teams from the ICD, Transtsabara created a new constitution that established the state as a secular, federal, presidential democracy that was highly critical of institutionalised and favoured religions and held a concerned view on the military, to the point where it was almost considered to be disbanded under the new constitution.

The original government was a 'Grand Coalition' of the Atudite's People's Party and the Salamic Democratic Party, this dual-faith and multi-ethnic centre right coalition steadily guided the republic to a fifteen year period of peace and prosperity, until former military general and avowed anti-socialist Atwan al-Tughluq came to the presidency in a hotly contested campaign. He formed the Movement for National Revival, a pan-Mumim political organisation irrespective of denomination. Originally presented as a moderate, Tughluq's descent into religiously motivated authoritarianism have seen him and his coalition party strip away the constitutionally guaranteed rights of freedom of religion, reversed secularism, re-permitted religious schooling and education, greatly increased the funding of the military and faux attempted to prove to the world of Tsabara's religious toleration through the creation of the House of God, the second chamber of the Tsabaran tricarmel legislature composed of religious leaders. The last bastion of Tsabara's original republican democracy, its Supreme Court, is under threat from being politicised and stacked with Mumin supremacists.

These actions have seen a rise in sectarian violence and riots from the other faiths in the population.

Social views:
  • General population's view on gay rights/gay people: More urban populations of the Drapeuntes and Atudites are more accepting of homosexuality, but generally it is viewed as immoral and is not tolerated. Homosexuality was decriminalized in the penal code established after the democratic transition. It has not been fully recriminalized, but anti-gay laws similar to those in Russia enacted by Putin have been implemented by al-Tughluq. In rural parts of the country it is not uncommon for (suspected) homosexuals to be killed.
  • General population's view on religions other than the primary one: Very divided and polarized. Religion is a major issue and has consistently undermined cooperation between the communities. The strict policy of secularism was implemented to combat this, but al-Tughluq has repealed this policy and religious tensions are reaching new highs. A rule of thumb sees more cooperation between the Atudites and the Sotirian Minorities.
  • General population's view on atheism: Atheism is viewed suspiciously in Tsabara, almost as a form of rejecting ethnic identity due to the focus on religion in the day-to-day life of the nation.
  • General population's view on abortion: Abysmal. Terrible. Totally, completely and utterly illegal. Underground abortion clinics are to be shut down immediately. This is, incredibly ridiculously, one of the few points the multiple factions seem to agree on.
  • View on other races/ethnic groups other than the primary one(s): Very visible ethnic divisions in society. Traditionally divided ethnic groups have been unified under the All-Mumim Union, however. Divisions remain elsewhere, and ethnic divisions tend to coincide with religious divisions.
  • Any big prejudices in your nation: ach group is traditionally reluctant to trust the others. However, different ethnic groups that all practice Salam have come together and formed a strong political block. Atudites generally favor non-Mumins but remain hesitant of the other groups as well. Alliance with Sotirians stems primarily from their small numbers.
  • View on immigration into country: Each group is skeptical of migration from similar groups to their rivals. Atudites are skeptical of migration from Badawiyan and Mumin countries, Badawiyans and Mumims are skeptical of migration of Atudites. A distaste for Euclean immigration stems from colonialism.
  • Women's Rights: Women have been enfrancised since the establishment of the first republic post-1935. Few reproductive rights. Right to divorce but this is often undermined by deeply religious judges. Official equality before secular law, but... I mean... yeah.
  • Views on tobacco/alcohol/pot/other drugs: While alcohol is legal, it is strongly discouraged by the government and its more traditional Salamic backers. There is a push for its prohibition but it has not yet materialized, just strong social pressure against drinking. It is not uncommon for mobs to ransack bars, destroying alcohol and physically assaulting employees. Tobacco, marijuana and hookah are all legal and commonly used but their use is increasingly frowned upon by the government. An ongoing anti-smoking campaign is underway under the guise of improving public health, but the campaign and the Minister of Health responsible have visible religious motives. All other drugs are considered illegal, immoral and use is punishable by incarceration.

National information
Official Name: Grand Duchy of Minerva (Minervan: Velké Vévodství Zlaty)
Shortened Name: Minerva (Minervan: Zlaty)
Requested Location: Something like this? Or like this?
Requested Population: 9-11 million
Culture: The majority of the culture is Czech, but there is a large Marolevian minority, and in general there has been great influence of both Marolevia and Gaullica on the culture of the country.
  • Ethnicity: The primary and leading ethnic group is Minervan (Czech), but in the west exists a sizable Masskian (Ukrainian) minority. In the east, a sizable Gaullican minority persists also. Additionally, there is a higher-than-average number of Tzigane travelers (Hungarians) that reside within the state.
  • Religion: Epismialism (Orthodox) remains the state religion, but there is a large minority of Solarian Catholics and Amendists, alongside the irreligious, particularly in the country's urban centres.
  • Languages: Minervan (Czech) is the sole official and dominant language, while Masskian (Ukrainian) is co-official in some western oblasts, and Gaullican in some eastern.
Government Type: Unitary parliamentary constitutional monarchy
Head of State: Grand Duchess Miriam II
Head of Government: Prime Minister Radovan Rušil
Requested GDP Per Capita: $18,616
National Overview: Sat at the crossroads of Euclea, Minerva has long been the battleground of empires. But, too, it was once prosperous; in the middle ages, it was well-known for silver mines and the protection of trans-continental trading routes. Of course, wealth draws ire. The region has been contested between Gaullica and Marolevia since their conceptions; indeed, in more ways than one. Culture, economics, politics and diplomacy have all seen Minerva dragged between its two neighbours, as if in a game of tug'o'war. Yet while there is strength in un-moving opposition, there is resilience in bending with the times; Minerva has not lost its unique culture, not yet, and it dares not let itself lose it any time soon. In the modern age, Minerva found its ancient monarchy ousted in the midst of the Great War, and it born a puppet of the MSU. With the fall of that empire, though, the monarchy has returned, and Minerva has reasserted itself; jostling between Marolevia and the EC.

Social views:
  • General population's view on LGBT+ rights/LGBT+ people: Outside of the urban, cosmopolitan capital, there is little love for LGBT+. Old prejudices die hard, especially when the Church says so.
  • General population's view on religions other than the primary one: Given the relative religious pluralism, there is respect - if only begrudging - for other Sotirian faiths. More foreign ones, though, are distrusted.
  • General population's view on atheism: Irreligion is distrusted by most, but at the very least tolerated inside the capital and other large urban centres. It is largely a don't-ask-don't-tell situation.
  • General population's view on abortion: Abortion is a cardinal sin. There is little sympathy for abortion or those who seek it, which has led to the proliferation of back-alley abortions.
  • View on other races/ethnic groups other than the primary one(s): Given the situation of Minerva being at the centre of the continent, other peoples are more readily accepted; this gradually dissipates, the more rural you get, however.
  • Any big prejudices in your nation: The Marolevians and pro-Marolevian Minervans hate the Gaullicans; the Gaullicans and pro-Gaullican Minervans hate the Marolevians. The Tziganes are widely distrusted.
  • View on immigration into country: Generally distrusted, especially if from countries other than Gaullica or Marolevia. Largely not an issue, however, as it remains rare.
  • Women's Rights: Poorer than the Euclean average, but certainly far better than elsewhere. Gradually improving.
  • Views on tobacco/alcohol/pot/other drugs: Uncategorically illegal and immoral. Except for alcohol, which is a staple of culture.

Other:
  • Factbook: working on it
  • RP Preferences: Character-driven
  • RP Samples: see others
  • RP Intentions: For now, mostly worldbuilding. However, as has been discussed, there is great opportunity for some good roleplay in the future, regarding the country's position between Euclea and Marolevia.
  • Primary/Other NS Nations: you got me
  • Any troubles with moderation? (If so, a link, please.): yes, they all hate me please help

National information
Official Name: United Provinces of Vanskelig | Forente provinser av Vanskelig
Shortened Name: Vanskelig, also commonly referred to as the United Provinces
Requested Location: The Island of Vanskelig
Requested Population: 25,035,845
Culture: Vanskelig is predominately Scandinavian in terms of overall culture, with minor !Irish (Ghaillish) and !German (Weranian) influences. Culture in Vanskelig is generally homogenous and centred around four distinct pillars: the land, the sea, the people, and the faith. There are two distinct cultural groups within Vanskelig, the "Lower Nords" and the "Upper Nords." The Lower Nords dominate the coastal regions of Vanskelig with an identity rooted in sea navigation and mercantilism, accompanied by the occasional cosmopolitan streak. The dominant pillars within Lower Nordic society are the sea and the people and Lower Nordic culture values entrepreneurialism and intellectualism. Upper Nords firmly occupy the inland regions of Vanskelig, producing hardy warriors and labourers, having long been the backbone of Vanskeligan martial prowess and industriousness. The land and the faith are the two most revered pillars within Upper Nordic society. Relative isolation from mainland Euclea and centuries of xenophobia have preserved nearly a millennium of tradition and cultural norms which make Vanskelig an outlier internationally. This homogeneity has been challenged in recent decades as a result of increasingly lax immigration policies and the pervasiveness of Greater Euclean culture.
  • Ethnicity: Vanskeligan (90%), Vanskeligan-Gael (4%), Coian (3%), Other (3%)
  • Religion: Various sects of Amendism, most notably the Upper and Lower Amendist Churches, maintain a majority in the country, with Solarian Catholicism, Salamism, and several local pantheons as minorities.
  • Languages: Vanskeligan (Norwegian) is the sole official language, with various regional dialects and foreign languages being recognized as secondary languages.
Government Type: Federal parliamentary semi-constitutional monarchy
Head of State: High King Magnus IX
Head of Government: Lawspeaker Haakon Bjergsen
Requested GDP Per Capita: $38,034
National Overview:
History
- Weranic tribes migrate to Vanskelig and war with locals
- Something something Vikings something something monasteries
- United during early middle ages but maintained as a loose confederacy
- Crusades bring Solarian Catholicism to the majority pagan Vanskelig (1100's to 1300's)
- Religious turmoil is further exacerbated by the arrival of Amendism and the Reformation
- Increased centralization into the Enlightment, likely wars with Werania, Glytter, Gaullica, etc
- Possible colonization?
- Allies with Gaullica during the Great War
- Military junta takes during the 30's and 40's
- Joins the EC after the fall of military rule in 1944
- "Uberegnelig Era" period of political instability during the 70's and 80's featuring frequent clashes between far-left Workers' Party and the High King
- "Velstand Era" economic prosperity and political stability from the 90's until 2005
- Support for the monarchy in the modern day continues to fall as political gridlock forces the High King to continually intervene in the democratic process

Politics
- Unicameral legislature, the Landsmøte, literally the Meeting of the Land or Landsmeet
- Montering av Jarls or Assembly of the Jarls is the upper house (appointed/elected)
- Montering av det frie folk or Assembly of the Free Folk is the lower house (elected)
- Majority of the country is socially conservative with a few mainstream social liberal political parties
- Mixed member majoritarian electoral system
- Rising tide of republicanism
- Majority euclosceptic
- Major parties: Social Democratic People's Party (centre-left/euclosceptic/half monarchist half republican), All For Vanskelig (centre-right/euclosceptic/majority monarchist), Popular Appeal-People's Alternative (centre-right/pro-eucleanism/majority republican), Forward Vanskelig (centre/euclosceptic/majority republican)

Economy and misc
- Logging, fishing, light manufacturing, financial services, tourism, shipbuilding, steel
- Hydroelectric, geothermal, nuclear, natural gas, petroleum

Social views:
  • General population's view on LGBT+ rights/LGBT+ people: Vanskelig remains one of the few countries within the EC where same-sex marriage is still illegal. The populace is predominately socially conservative and generally frown upon LGBT+ people. Mainstream political parties in recent years have attempted to undermine the rights of same-sex couples by denying them the ability to adopt or have children via a surrogate. Beyond the cityscapes of Halsvik and Tverrå there are few places of refuge for LGBT+ Vanskeligans.
  • General population's view on religions other than the primary one: Solarian Catholicism is still viewed with suspicion and occasionally outright disdain. The dominant political forces, dripping in Amendism, use every trick in the book to hamstring local Solarian Catholic churches and organisations. This is amplified towards faiths not of Euclean origins, specifically Atudism and Salamism.
  • General population's view on atheism: Generally frowned upon, although it is slowly becoming more acceptable as urban populations trend towards atheism/agnosticism.
  • General population's view on abortion: Abortion is a highly contentious issue in Vanskelig, with just over 60% of the population having a negative view of abortion (2018 Poll). Abortion rights have slowly begun to disappear under successive socially conservative governments, sitting the stage for a bloody political battle over the issue.
  • View on other races/ethnic groups other than the primary one(s): Generally looked at with suspicion outside of the main population centres.
  • Any big prejudices in your nation: There is a general distrust of other Eucleans, specifically "Mainlanders." Coians and Asterians are also meh as well.
  • View on immigration into country: Popular support for immigration has declined in recent years due to what were considered "disastrous" immigration policies under governments from 1993-2013. Public opinion is firmly behind a strict immigration system accompanied by successful assimilation.
  • Women's Rights: Reproductive rights aside, women in Vanskelig are generally considered equal and arguably enjoy greater levels of equality and opportunity than their mainland counterparts.
  • Views on tobacco/alcohol/pot/other drugs: Tobacco and alcohol usage are both widespread and legal beginning from the age of 16. Cannabis and all other drugs are outlawed and accompanied by heavy
    fines and prison sentences.

Other:
  • Factbook: http://iiwiki.com/wiki/User:Valentir/Sandbox7
  • RP Preferences: Anything
  • RP Samples: Some of my finest work, Please Clap
  • RP Intentions: Destruction of the EC, civil war (Worldbuilding mainly)
  • Primary/Other NS Nations: Valentir
  • Any troubles with moderation? (If so, a link, please.): A few encounters, one specifically involving a picture of Michelle Bachmann eating a hot dog.
  • Anything else?: Please for the love of god accept this I've never been more excited about an idea before

Official Name: Heavenly Realm of the Heavenly Father, Heavenly Son, Heavenly Spirit, and Great Peace
Shortened Name: Qaradalai
Requested Location: https://media.discordapp.net/attachment ... adalai.png
Requested Population: 60-75 million
Culture: Qaradalai is predominantly Mongolian linguistically, while it culturally falls broadly within the Sinosphere.
  • Ethnicity: The primary and largest ethnic group is Mongolian (Hua/Tsorigtol). Sizeable minorities of Manchu, Koreans, and Han Chinese also exist.
  • Religion: God Worship, a heterodox strain of Sotirianity, is the dominant and only legal religion of Qaradalai.
  • Languages: Mongolian is the coofficial language of Qaradalai, alongside Latin (Solarian?) and Mandarin Chinese.
Government Type: Christian republic (in the same vain as Islamic republic) under a directorial system
Head of State: Jesus Sotiras (de jure); de facto Vacant
Head of Government: Supreme State Jury (composed of the Seven Earthly Kings)
Requested GDP Per Capita: $20,000-$28,000
National Overview: The modern Hua state has its roots in the 1830s and 1840s neo-imperialism as Euclean powers began to penetrate Coius. The most important of these changes the Eucleans brought would be Sotirian missionaries. A poor low-level bureaucrat, Baiju Yekeheren, would be greatly influenced by these missionaries. In 1838, Baiju would claim to have been visited by the prophet Jeremiah who told Baiju that the Hua were one of the lost tribes of Israel and, in order to prevent Qaradalai from getting taken over by the Eucleans (as was happening with the rest of Coius), Baiju must cast off the “devil worshippers,” which he interpreted as the Song-backed Bogd Khan. In the following years, Baiju would become a travelling preacher and attracted large flocks of people, far outnumbering the Euclean preachers’ sermons. In 1856, the Bogd Khan sent men to kill or capture Baiju. The failure to accomplish either triggered the start of the Sublime Revolution, a bloody civil war lasting from 1857-1862, and ended with the formation of the modern Hua state.

Social views:
  • General population's view on LGBT+ rights/LGBT+ people: Largely negative. Sodomy is illegal nationwide, and male homosexuals are put to death.
  • General population's view on religions other than the primary one: Other Adamite religions are tolerated to varying degrees, with Salamiphilia and Atudaiphilia being common among the political and societal elite.
  • General population's view on atheism: Atheism is treated as apostasy under Basic Law, and is punishable by death.
  • General population's view on abortion: Banned.
  • View on other races/ethnic groups other than the primary one(s): Unofficial discrimination exists against the Song, who have long been viewed as cultural imperialists.
  • Any big prejudices in your nation: TBD
  • View on immigration into country: Immigration is encouraged to boost the population. Targeted groups are Negarans, Badawiyans, and Dravidians.
  • Women's Rights: De jure women share the same rights as men, however in a heavily patriarchal society, women are still often considered second class citizens.
  • Views on tobacco/alcohol/pot/other drugs: All drugs are banned. Possessing drugs (with the assumed intent to traffic) is punishable by death.

Culture: Based mostly around Venezuelan/Colombian culture. San Felix is a mostly (!Hispanic) community. Whose economy is mostly based on oil, agriculture and tourism.
  • Ethnicity: Mestizo is the most common ethnic group, representing a 73.4% of the population. Other ethnic groups include Caucasian and African.
  • Religion: The dominant religion is Solarian Catholicism. Amendist groups can be seen on San Felix, as well as Atudism and Salam, specifically Shima Salam.
  • Languages: Felician (basically a mildly modified version of Spanish)
    Government Type: Legislative Constitutional Government
Head of State: President of the States
Head of Government: Legislative Council president
    Requested GDP Per Capita: $13.566
National Overview: Indigenous groups living in harmony until they were colonized by ___. Most indigenous groups were erradicated, while the only ones left were used and seemed as second class civilians. Slaves were often traded on San Felix territory and some of them escaped and created their own hidden communities. Independence came and a government was installed. After several disagreements, a short civil war was fought and a dictatorship was established. 37 years later, opposition groups fought against the government and succeeded, installing a brand new legislative based country in which democracy reigns. State president Juan Manuel Saavedra and Council president Simón Montes rule the country with a firm hand. The legislative council is mostly controlled by Acción Democrática, party that focuses on progress and liberty.

    Social views:
    • General population's view on LGBT+ rights/LGBT+ people: Gay marriage is legal in San Felix, but several Catholic groups are opposing.
    • General population's view on religions other than the primary one: No incidents have happened so far, San Felix is a supportive and inclusive community that encourages love and respect.
    • General population's view on atheism: Atheism is common between the younger generation. No discrimination incidents have happened so far.
    • General population's view on abortion: The country is pretty much divided in this issue. Most religious people disagree and think abortion shouldn't be legal. The government and younger people think that abortion should be legal.
    • View on other races/ethnic groups other than the primary one(s): Racism is pretty much discouraged on San Felix. No race related incidents have occurred so far.
    • Any big prejudices in your nation: Not really.
    • View on immigration into country: Immigration is encouraged and accepted. We love seeing cultures mix and enjoy together.
    • Women's Rights: Women are equal than men. They have voting rights, equal pay, economic rights and respect.
    • Views on tobacco/alcohol/pot/other drugs: Tobacco is legal, but heavily discouraged by the Health Department.

Alcohol is legal. The legal age is 18.

Cannabis (both medicinal and recreational) is legal, the legal age to consume it is 18.

Other drugs such as Cocaine and Heroine are illegal.

National information
Official Name: Republic of Jevia
Shortened Name: Jevia
Requested Location: The spot on the peninsula south of Etruria
Requested Population: 3,462,593
Culture: Primarily Bosniak albeit with Croat and Italian influence, as well as whatever will replace Denikert eventually.
  • Ethnicity: 65% Bosniak, 25% Croat, 10% other (primarily Greek and Italian)
  • Religion: Mumins constitute the majority of the population, Catholics the rest
  • Languages: Bosnian, Croatian (I’m not going further into that rabbit hole)
    Government Type: Parliamentary unitary republic
    Head of State:President Marija Bajraktarević
    Head of Government: Džemal Isaković
Requested GDP Per Capita: $21,583 (PPP) $8,467 (nominal)
National Overview: Jevia was traditionally a bunch of Slavic feudal kingdoms, city states and principalities united in the 1200’s as a kingdom. The kingdom was invaded by [insert Mumim power here] during the 1400/1500’s and subsequently Islaminised. It was conquered by Vespasia during the early 1700’s.

Jevia achieved independence following the 1917 republican revolution in Etruria in the early 1900’s under the Etrurian Mumim Organistion. The new republic was unstable leading to a coup in 1922, with the military government joined the Entente in the Great War with the intention to exercise irrendist claims in Etruria but were occupied in the war and annexed into Etruria at its conclusion. During the Solarian War Jevian partisan resistance to Etrurian war resulted in their independence being restored. The new government was considered authoritarian being dominated by former partisans, but under inaugural leader Alija Karabegović ethnic tensions were harshly repressed ensuring a degree of political stability. Following the Etrurian military coup and increasing liberalisation in the Jevian regime a similar coup by Novalian and Etrurian officers in Jevia was performed in 1976 with the tacit backing of Etruria, who sent a taskforce to the country to stabilise the regime. Following the fall of the Etrurian regime the Jevian junta came under even greater pressure especially due to its low legitimacy; this boiled over in 1984 when a civil war broke out between the government and Mumim resistance groups. By 1992 the Mumim groups had achieved a de facto victory with an EC-brokered peace treaty resulting in the handing over of power to a democratic government. Since than the country has overseen an economic boom.

    Social views:
    • General population's view on LGBT+ rights/LGBT+ people: Homosexuality is generally frowned upon albeit not illegal. Gay marriage is currently illegal and not supported by much of the population.
    • General population's view on religions other than the primary one: Historic differences between Mummims and Catholics still mark religious relations within the country.
    • General population's view on atheism: Atheism is not a large thing and generally frowned upon. As religion is tied up in ethnic identity, even being a non-believer will often mean you participate in religious rituals.
    • General population's view on abortion: Abortion law is restricted to cases of maternal life, mental health, physical health, rape, fetal defects, and/or socioeconomic factors. This situation is unlikely to change, as abortion is not a major political issue and there is large political and social consensus on the matter.
    • View on other races/ethnic groups other than the primary one(s): Largely exclusionary.
    • Any big prejudices in your nation: Each ethnic group has frosty relations with the other. Etrurians are also pretty badly regarded.
    • View on immigration into country: Immigration is not an issue; emigration is.
    • Women's Rights: Similar to real-life conservative European nations.
    • Views on tobacco/alcohol/pot/other drugs:
Non-Mummims consume copious amounts of tobacco and drugs (and a fair amount of Mummims as well!). Other drugs are largely restricted.

    Other:
    • Factbook:
    • RP Preferences: Diplomatic
    • RP Samples: (If not available, ask for a prompt.)
    • RP Intentions: Largely worldbuilding with some roleplay as well
    • Primary/Other NS Nations: Xiaodong
    • Any troubles with moderation? (If so, a link, please.): Mods are big gay
    • Anything else?: Allah is a Bosniak

National information
Official Name: Mossyn Federation | Erebis Pederatsia (ერების ფედერაცია)
Shortened Name: Mossyna | Erebi (ერები)
Requested Location: Location
Requested Population: 26,554,754
Culture: The culture of Mossyna is largely based on the Caucasus Mountains and their respective peoples, minus the Turkics and Mongolics, and without religious differences between those Christian or Muslim.
  • Ethnicity: Oh Boy
  • Religion: Dominant Sotirianity, Minority Pagan
  • Languages: There are a vast variety of languages in Mossyna, and none are official at the federal level, though Moschian is the unofficial lingua franca and administrative language
Government Type: Federal Presidential republic
Head of State: President Ramazi Iosava
Head of Government: Ibid
Requested GDP Per Capita: $11,481
National Overview: History before modern will be a wip
As for modern overview, pending discussion with Kisi, but it was either a loose confederation allied to Socialist Marolevia, or some of it was part of SM while others were independent republics. With the collapse of SM it either became independent and largely non-socialist, or confederated along with several states released from Marolevia.

Recent issues include the dispute over the Republic of Askana, a buffer state with a high number of Marolevs (~30% of pop.) which Mossyna tried to annex in the 1990s after a plebiscite (rigged or not depending on your political alignment), resulting in a series of short wars between Marolevia and Mossyna which has resulted in a ceasefire in 2001 and the stalemate seen in the map today. The other main issue is the separatist Chemerian Republic, which controls 2/3rds of the Urus-Argun Province. This is the second attempt by the Chemerians to establish an independent republic, the first being at the same time as the Marolev-Mossyn war, and this starting in 2011 and resulting in a stalemate in 2014.

As for politics, the federal parliament is largely gridlocked between multiple broad and unstable coalitions, which has allowed the presidency to become an imperial and powerful executive position. As a result of this gridlock and instability the state governments have gradually assumed more powers and responsibilities, and the 2010s have largely been focused upon the president v. provinces.

Social views:
  • General population's view on LGBT+ rights/LGBT+ people: There are no laws at the federal level on LGBT+ rights or outlining marriage, with each state being left to decide. At present only a few states recognise LGBT+ rights, with the majority declaring them illegal, though only a minority of those criminalise LGBT+ people. This largely reflects the view of the populace, though the recent re-alignment to Eastern Euclea has started to shift values
  • General population's view on religions other than the primary one: The Federation is officially secular, and the constitution respects all religious beliefs or lack thereof. In practice the view varies sharply between population groups, with some being strongly Sotirian, others being Sotirian in only name, and some minorities staunchly pagan.
  • General population's view on atheism: Atheism is not as popular as agnosticism and spiritualism. It is not currently llegal in any states despite several attempts and periods in the past.
  • General population's view on abortion: Federal law allows for states to legislate for limited abortion rights, though only a few have made the procedure legal beyond certain restrictions.
  • View on other races/ethnic groups other than the primary one(s): There is no easily identifiable primary ethnic group in Mossyna, and its pluralism is both considered a strength and a weakness. The Mushkali are often considered the dominant ethnicity, and are often accused of elitism and undue control of the federation, while they will often criticise other groups for separatism, low work ethics etc. As for foreign peoples, the greatest distrust tends towards Marolevic groups, and for the others it varies wildly depending on which Mossyn group is judging them
  • Any big prejudices in your nation: Largely towards Marolevia, for those aligned with Eastern Euclea, and towards the EC, for those aligned with Marolevia. There are also prejudices against foreigners, immigrants, drug-users, Mumins, Pagans v. Sotirians etc.
  • View on immigration into country: Generally viewed as negative by the populace, as each people group tends to dislike both foreigners and their own percentage dropping down. The government views it as a positive in the rare case of skilled wealthy immigrants, and is more negative of Marolevic or unskilled immigration.
Emigration is considered a real problem and the government attempts to prevent the "brain-drain" of skilled workers to Eastern Euclea where they earn more and have more opportunities.
  • Women's Rights: Protected by legislation at the Federal level and via the constitution. In practice it varies wildly depending on the states, and though poor by Eastern standards they have been improving in the last decades. Women are still underrepresented in politics, business, science etc. and recent governments have undertaken little to counter this or combat traditional routes and schooling for them.
  • Views on tobacco/alcohol/pot/other drugs: Tobacco and alcohol are both legal, with relatively fewer restrictions than most eastern states, though again this varies depending on the states. Non-medicinal drugs are currently criminalised at the Federal level, and attempts to change this or allow some of their usage for medicinal reasons have largely failed.

National information
Official Name: Union of Auxilliac, L'Hailetes, and Saint-Clovis
Shortened Name: Auxilliac
Requested Location: All the grey areas in North Asteria above the Federation excluding the large island to the north-EAST of the continent.
Requested Population: 78,000,000
Culture: The languages include Gaullican and Estmerish, although the nation's culture is a sort of mixed creole of Euclean cultural and ethnic groups. Native Hailetois and Novaeumanne culture is present but minor.
  • Ethnicity: 56% Gaullois
    29% Estmeriste
    7.4% Pure Gaullican
    6.8% Native
    0.8% Cold Ones
  • Religion: Solarian Catholicism mainly, with several smaller religions present, and ((Protestants) being very common in Estmerish communities.
  • Languages: Gaullican, Estmerish and Halletois are the recognized languages. Over 100 native languages fail to receive special status, including Northern Noveaumannique.
Government Type: Buckling democratic parliamentary republic. The meaning of this is that the democracy in the nation is unstable and political division is more common than actual democratic things. The Consul has a lot more executive power, due to recent reforms, meaning the parliamentary system may fail soon.
Head of State: Consul Ricard De Latorre
Head of Government: First Minister Osborne Covais
Requested GDP Per Capita: 26,748
National Overview: (OOC: Yes I am taking some inspiration from Senouilliac. It isn't my fault he's gone.)
History
-Natives following separate migration paths from the north and south arrive in their respective First Lands.
-The First major wars are fought between Halletois and the southern peoples. Over time, Halletois advance southward. By 1000 CE, Noveaumanne tribes have been pushed east.
-Stories say that a Euclean traveler landed on the western coast as early as 1250. Theories swirl today.
-Tribes from far south attempt to migrate through central Asteria Superior. Although many are successful, some are forced to fight the Novaeumanne.
-Gaullicans show up in 1562. They first contact the Noveaumanne, who see the white men as suspicious, but in first years the relations grow.
-By 1600 the Colony of Auxilliac has been formed and it controls the modern states of Daitone and Roche on the Great Western Coast.
-In 1603 the first Estmerish colony is organized at Port Clanton in southern Saint Clovis.
-The first major native war occurs when the Tecemenche tribe desperately fends off Gaullois settlers between 1612 and 1640.
-Estmere begins major colonization of Saint-Clovis, forming good and unhindered relations with natives.
-After years and years of brutal conflict in the west, Estmere and Gaullica agree on temporary expansion boundaries, mostly revolving around Lake Chandine.
-In 1755 a rebellion occurs in the city of Capre in The Gaullic territory. It's the first Amendist rebellion against Gaullica that has done real damage.
-After the successful revolution in Asteria, a group of mainly Amendist Gaullicans launch a massive revolt in the Territory of L'Oriente in 1778. The revolution grows across the Gaullican territories and even some tribes participate. In 1780 the declaration of the Union of Auxilliac is signed by governors and revolutionaries. Estmere begins to intervene, but face rebellions of their own.
-In 1784 the Gaullicans surrender and the colony is disbanded. The mainland territories are reformed into the union. In 1786, Estmere faces rebellion and even war threats and therefore relinquish large parts of Saint-Clovis.
blalala for 200 years.

Political
-Mainly conservative in rural regions.
-Majority of populace are religious.
-Current government is a center/right wing coalition.
-Liberal and leftist unrest is a problem in youth and in big cities.
-Political violence growing in the so-called "New Spring".
-Several main parties, including Green, Socialist, Conservative and Centrists parties.
-Legislature is the bicameral Congress, made up of the Senate and Assembly of Deputies.

Other

It's cold. Seriously, this impacts heavily. It generates industries such as skiing, ice, water, and adds to industries like lumber and mining.

Social views:
  • General population's view on LGBT+ rights/LGBT+ people: Following the Let Them Act of 2014, LGBT+ is legal, but discouraged and most people look slightly down upon them.
  • General population's view on religions other than the primary one: There is a religious divide, but the general population don't take it too extremely.
  • General population's view on atheism: Atheists aren't listended to in society.
  • General population's view on abortion: Abortion has been legalized and criminalized 3 times since 1970. The law changes often and there is heated debate on the topic, but a majority of the population look down on abortions.
  • View on other races/ethnic groups other than the primary one(s): Several supremacist groups have risen recently, and there is prejudice towards the flow of migrants from Mid Asteria, but nothing official is bigoted against any group.
  • Any big prejudices in your nation:
  • View on immigration into country: The view on immigration is declining as populist groups and opinions rise. The Tilder Act, a name for a possible new immigration bill, which will essentially not allow in anyone who will not be deemed a fully capable Auxillois citizen within several months.
  • Women's Rights: Women have rights but are frequently mispaid in private elements.
  • Views on tobacco/alcohol/pot/other drugs:Tobacco: Legal, and a steady industry in the south.
Pot: Legal only in the State of Vajero.
Coke, meth, heroin and other Class A's are all banned fully. Ecstasy is not officially criminal in several counties. Multiple other pill drugs are officially illegal but not enforced.

Official Name: Severian Federation | Federacja Siewierszczyzna | Federatsiya severiytsiv | Severní federace
Shortened Name: Severia
Requested Location: Open to suggestions
Requested Population: 25,035,486
Culture: Severa is primarily multicultural, a by-product of being at the centre of the Euclean continent. Culturally it is a mash of Poles, Ukrainians, Czechs, Hungarians, Latvians, Russians, and Franks.
  • Ethnicity:
    Severians (Poles) 71%
    Masskians (Ukrainians) - 12%
    Savader (Hungarians) - 8%
    Minervans (Czechs) - 4%
    Gaullicans (French) - 2%
    Others - 3%
  • Religion:
    Atheists - 40%
    Amendists - 29%
    Solarian Catholics - 14%
    Episimialists - 9%
    TBD - 6%
    Others - 2%
  • Languages: Official Languages: Severian, Masskian, Minervan | Recognized Languages: Savader, Sipellian, Amathian, Marolevian, Gaullican
Government Type: Federal dominant-party parliamentary constitutional republic
Head of State: President Kazimierz Zelasko (LPRO)
Head of State: Prime Minister Władysław Poniatowski (SPL)
Requested GDP Per Capita: $16,067
National Overview: The various Severian tribes and petty kings warred amongst themselves, succumbing to Solarian, Gaullican, and Marolevic hegemony at various points until the early 11th century. The Commonwealth of the Severians was founded in 1027 by !LegendaryRuler1 and swallowed numerous neighbouring states throughout the Middle Ages. An elective monarchy, eventually a Minervan monarch was elected as High King, leading to the integration of Minerva and several kingdoms between Greater Severia and itself. The Commonwealth would undergo centralization over the next few centuries, leading to the Severian-Minervan Commonwealth. (All of this is subject to change but it serves as a starting point for my discussions with Calt)

The Great War and such will have to be worked out. At some point Severia becomes aligned with Socialist Marolevia.

In the 21st Century Severian politics is dominated by the Social Democratic People's Party (SPL), functioning as the primary party in government since 1989. Urbanization and globalization has created a stark eastern/western divide. Eastern provinces tend to be more multicultural and liberal and western provinces more socially conservative. Pressure to join/stay out of the EC has been a key political issue for sometime and served as the backdrop of the 2015 election. Populism on both the left and the right is on the rise in the form of the Coalition of Solidarity (KS) and the People's Republican Party of the Motherland (LPRO), the latter of which seized the presidency during the 2015 presidential election. There have been frequent clashes between President Zelasko and Prime Minister Poniatowski since.

Social views:
  • General population's view on LGBT+ rights/LGBT+ people: Relatively negative outside of urban centres and cosmopolitan eastern provinces. Only three provinces have legal same-sex marriage and meaningful anti-discrimination laws.
  • General population's view on religions other than the primary one: Religion is a sensitive issue given the multitude that exist within Severia. "Oddzielny" (literally "Separate"), has been the general public policy regarding religion for nearly three centuries and is the Severian form of secularism. It is viewed as a private matter, although this hasn't entirely prevented tensions between differing faiths.
  • General population's view on atheism: More or less accepted, with exceptions in the form of the most rural and conservative parts of the country.
  • General population's view on abortion: Generally negative view nationwide, except in urban centres and some parts of the eastern provinces. Abortion is legal in only two provinces.
  • View on other races/ethnic groups other than the primary one(s): Severian society is generally multicultural, however relations between the various ethnic groups can be tense depending on the issues of the day. There is a prominent eastern/western divide featured between the Severian majority provinces and Marolevic majority provinces.
  • Any big prejudices in your nation: Prominent Solarian-Amendist-Hussite tensions, general distrust of the Euclean major powers,
  • View on immigration into country: Generally negative view nationwide, again with exceptions in urban centres and eastern provinces.
  • Women's Rights: Similar to the irl Slavic nations.
  • Views on tobacco/alcohol/pot/other drugs: Tobacco and alcohol are legal and have high rates of consumption. All other drugs are more or less illegal, with only one province having legal marijuana.

Other:

Let us begin.

1) Most notably, we feel the history does not work with the 'canon' of the region. This can easily be explained to you as follows. It is ideal that the Union is a functioning Gaullican Colony/Dominion until the 1930s (1935, to be exact), but it is here where it is muddled. The basic Gaullican Great War history as we have it is that the Gaullican Royal Family fragments into what are in essence fascist supporters and moderates. The moderates flee to where you would be playing and take up residency there as Heads of State. This ends at the end of the war. Further ramifications of losing the territory as a colony very early on have immense ramifications on the histories of many Asterian states; and would certainly alter every Euclean power's view of the region throughout history.
2) We have concerns of population for a nation so up north. A smaller range, perhaps the mid 50s, would have been better.
3) 'Novaeumanne' -- I've got more than enough respect for Sjal's language to eradicate this in its infancy.
4) 'Cold Ones'? What are these, lizardmen or White Walkers?
5) I'd recommend taking a look at the in-depth social views of the applications of Mossyn or my own Tsabara for a good idea of what we're usually looking for.
6) Hi Herg. Nice to see you Herg. Don't lie to me, Herg. I know you've run in with moderation.

So this is denied.

National information
Official Name: The Federation of Ordennya
Shortened Name: Ordennya
Requested Location: https://imgur.com/S5A8J12 (in dark blue)
Requested Population: 27 million
Culture: Ordennya is primarily a nation of ethnic and cultural Ordennyans, with concentrations of native (Sami) population in 2 of the 12 Ordennyan states, and native Gaels in the eastern states. In terms of real world equivalency, Ordennyan culture would be a blend of Swedish with some Canadian influences on social attitudes. At the state level, there are high concentrations of what would be Norwegian, Finnish, Northern Germanic, Danish, Celtic/Gaelic, and Icelandic populations.
  • Ethnicity:
      87.1% White
      7.0% Mixed
      5.0% Black
      0.9% others
  • Religion: Ordennya is nominally a secular state, but Amendist Sotirianity is the main religion in Ordennya, with about 40% identifying as such, though that number is decreasing. Ordennya also has a small but slowly growing Salam population, and a small but robust Atudaist population.
  • Languages: Ordennyan (Swedish) is the official language, but Gaullician and Estmerish are both widely spoken and compulsory subjects in schools. Several of the Ordennyan states have their own regional languages, the most significant one being Neuistrian (Sami dialects), spoken in Neuistria, Ordennya's northernmost state.
Government Type: Presidential Federal Parliamentary Republic
Ordennya is a federation, with the 12 Ordennyan states having their own legislatures as a result of a 2015 referendum to reorganise Ordennya into a Federation. At the Federal level, Ordennya has a bicameral legislature, consisting of the Chamber of Deputies as the lower house, and the Senate of the People & Regions as the upper house. Both are elected using proportional representation, the Chamber using Mixed-member proportional and the Senate using Single Transferable Vote, with elections taking place at the most every five years. The President combines the role of Head of State and Prime Minister, due to a quirk in Ordennyan constitutional law whereby the clause separating the two roles was never invoked. As a result, the President has always sat as a member of the House of Commons, and is generally the leader of the largest party or coalition.
Head of State: Rt Hon. Michel Fallow, MP, President of Ordennya
Head of Government: Rt Hon. Michel Fallow, MP, President of Ordennya
Requested GDP Per Capita: $55,000 (PPP), $50,000 (Nominal)
National Overview: Ordennya began life as a Kingdom in the late 10th century, ruled for 900 years by the House of Åkesson. It benefited from it's position as a coastal nation and developed a bustling economy based on fishing, and it's lush land allowed it to develop its agricultural sector. It was ruled as an absolute monarchy from the moment of its formation in 981, when the various provincial leaders decided to merge into one Kingdom, until the Grand Revolution of 1157 resulted in King Edward IV seceding some of his powers to his council of advisors, which eventually became an elected Parliament in 1329. Franchise was limited the landowning elite, however, until the Ordennyan Civil War of 1657-1669 resulted in the franchise being extended to all men who owned at least 2 acres of land. This remained the status quo until 1827, when the franchise was extended all working men and the 650 seats in the House of Commons distributed more evenly. From the late 18th century and well into the mid 19th century, the country experienced its industrial revolution, with the capital city of Västdal, a bustling fishing port, became the country's main industrial hub. Other cities, like Oured, Edgholm, and saw themselves become industrial hubs as well. During this time, the majority of the population moved from the coastal towns and rural villages to the big cities, leading to the country developing its now vast rail network.
The chain of events leading to Ordennya's transition to a republic began after the 1835 General Election, in which the Conservatives, led by Otto Sohlmann, ended their five year spat in Opposition in defeating the Liberal Government. The Government began to make moves to consolidate more power in the hands of the King, Stefan XI, who found himself dissatisfied with a number of the reforms enacted by the Liberal government. The Liberals were powerless to stop the actions of the government due to the size of the majority held by the Conservatives, who held 453 of the 700 seats in the Chamber of Deputies. This allowed the new centre-left Radical Party, made up of left wing Independents and dissident Liberals led by MP Jonas Sandberg, to accuse the Liberals of being complacent in opposing the Government in the Chamber of Peers, where the Liberals had a majority over the Conservatives. A snap election in 1837, triggered by the Liberals voting down the budget in the Chamber of Peers, saw the Conservatives reduced to a minority government, winning only 349 seats, while the Liberals were relegated to third place, with only 25 seats. The Radicals overtook the Liberals, increasing their seat number from 20 to 310, winning seats from both the Liberals and the Conservatives.
The Radicals in opposition were able to defeat a number of bills introduced by the Conservative government, which culminated in a loss in a No Confidence Motion for the Government, leading to another election in which the Radicals emerged as the winning Party, winning 378 out of 700 seats.
The King, wary of Sandberg, allowed him to form a government, and held his tongue over the reforms enacted by the Radicals which circumvented what remained of his power. The Radicals were re-elected in 1845, and in 1850 the King decided enough was enough, sacked Sandberg as Prime Minister and dissolved Parliament, leading to the mass repression of civil liberties under the direct rule of the King. Sandberg found himself thrust into the role of a revolutionary leader, and successfully lead a civil uprising in which supporters of the Radical and Liberal Parties, aided by workers, took control of the major cities, leading to the King's abdication and Sandberg being sworn in as President of Ordennya. A new Constitution cemented Ordennya's new status as a Unitary Republic, which remained the status quo until 2016, when the government held a referendum on whether Ordennya should be reorganised into a Federation, which passed 75%-25%, and Ordennya now exists as a Federal Republic. Throughout its history as a Republic, Ordennya has seen a number of centre-left governments take office, enacting a number of left of centre social democratic policies, making Ordennya a beacon for social democracy in Kylaris. The current government, however, is a coalition between the right wing Conservative Capitalist Front, the centre-right Conservative Party of Ordennya, and the centrist Liberal Democrats.
