Probably because most of the time anime is anything BUT realistic. And I don't mean that in terms of the plot but rather the reactions and interactions of the characters in the shows. It makes anime a bit surreal.

Well they sent spec-ops team with anti-magic weapons and sniper in overwatch for rescue&delay against rogue magical girl, til allied magical girl could come to deal with situation, so I guess it's as realistic as it gets.

Also this reminds me of "best counter to tank is another tank" and makes me think of magical girl as supernatural main battle tank.

Just finished watching the most recent episode of Kaguya-sama: Love is War. I'm never watching that show this late again, it's far too hard to stifle all that laughter.

Sorry, what I meant was I did like them and the roles they played, but hearing about their action sort of turned my opinion around about them, and it will feel quite awkward, for me, listening to them.

Sorry for the confusion.

I’m rewatching FMA: Brotherhood. I kinda ran oitnof stuff to watch, so I decidd it would be the perfect time to rewatch something and so I have something to watch while waiting on BNHA season 4.

Also got finally into Hunter x Hunter. I thought it looked dumb which is why I put it off for so long, but I’m starting to like it.

FMA: Brotherhood is one of my favorites, and personally I think I could separate Edward Elric from Vic while watching it. But regardless, Vic did some really shady stuff (like apparently groping teenage girls), and he needs to face the music.

It's a bit weirdly paced and isn't very funny despite how often it tries to be, but it's still a magical experience.

Honestly I never really cared much for his talent. That's not to say he was awful but I found his performances mediocre. Not too surprised by the allegations though, I have a friend who met him once at a con and she said he was a major creep.

This doesn't relate to anything atm, just general thoughts.
I normally watch anime with subs because I've gotten used to watching subs since I learned how to read, but if series I like got Finnish dub on par that Silver screen animation movies (read Disney, Dreamworks, etc) at least used to get, I'd switch to dub with no hestitation tbh.

to be fair, that it isn't in the comedy genre is probably partially to blame for its failings at comedy attempts

I mean, a show doesn't need to be a comedy to have funny moments tbh.
