Is war a thing in this game? If so how does one participate?

At most it can be roleplayed on the forums. Beyond that, no.

I agree. Don't try to introduce a real war function, because it won't ever happen.

Some folks engage in a type of gameplay involving "raiding" and "defending" regions, however, this is via attempting to wrest the World Assembly delegacy from the region by means of endorsements and subterfuge...probably not what you had in mind, either.

War can be played by raiding and defending but it's mostly boring even for the interested newcomers after they try it a few times. It consists of people endorsing a nation to take a delegate position or stop someone from getting it but its anticlimactic and mostly pressing the move and endorse buttons to see someone ejected. Outside it role play is the only way.

I’m biased since I’ve almost been a raider for a year. However, R/D gameplay is the closest to war as you’ll get in NS but it can be fun. If you want to get into R/D gameplay just join a raider or defender organization. I’d recommend the Black Hawks if you want a raider organization (Mind you I’m in TBH, so I’m definitely biased). As for defender organizations the Order of the Grey Wardens is one of the most active as far as I know but there are others such as XKI(10,000 Islands) there’s more but I can’t think of any others.

Also within Gameplay, there's political wars, which are mainly people yelling at each other in this forum. Real great fun to watch.
