I believe that if this should be passed, it should only apply to those whose religion forbids homosexual acts. Others whose religion or lack thereof doesn't forbid homosexuality can do it.

Firstly clergy cannot be forced to be preform same sex marriages. They have a legal
Right to refuse.

A county or city clerk is a government employee they do not have the right to impose their religious beliefs on others

More importantly, if the GOP had any balls, they could do an end run around the issue by limiting what SCOTUS can review; the mandate of the Court can be controlled by Congressional legislation, and the GOP could, in theory, pass legislation preventing the Court from reviewing cases of this nature. That they never have speaks volumes about their convictions on a personal level.

What is it with some right wingers and wanting to oppress minorities?

Intent and practice are not always aligned. Anything with labeling is usually a bad idea.

If you need laws like banning same sex marriage.....your faith is rather weak.

The last sentence doesn't even make sense. Some religions have laws go be enforced, doesn't make them weak. Religions laws don't show weakness, just like laws in general don't show weakness of a nation.

Actually it makes complete sense. Religion is faith based. Needing the laws of man to have people follow it is a sign of weakness.......or intolerance.

Luckily, I don't have to worry as our laws keep the want of a theocracy in check.

A county or city clerk works for all. They have no right no pick
And choose who they will apply the law too. If your not going to apply it equally then resign

Because quite frankly the government has no right to push any religious laws on someone even if they are of that religion. If someone wishes to follow parts of their religion and ignore other parts that is their choice and the government has no place in trying to change that.

Al-Islam is not without fault. I know an ex Muslim who had to flee his country because some practitioners of Al-Islam were coming to kill him in the middle of the night. He is gay.

You should. Your religion does not trump peoples rights to get married and the government should not be forcing people to follow any part of their religion if they don’t want to follow that part.
