If you’re going to get any of the original Dooms, I’d recommend getting ZDOOM or a similar source port, because they’re kinda hard to play otherwise. I can personally vouch for ZDOOM, being able to have full screen and improved graphics is a godsend.

If you’re going to get any of the original Dooms, I’d recommend getting ZDOOM or a similar source port, because they’re kinda hard to play otherwise. I can personally vouch for ZDOOM, being able to have full screen and improved graphics is a godsend.

ZDOOM still requires you have the real official WAD though.

I mean, you can check their listing. It lists id Software and Bethesda Softworks LLC as the company, so that is who the sale would go to minus the cut for GOG. Nothing goes to the "original" creators, just who owns the copyright and distribution rights.

Consider that with Bungie breaking away from Activision and no real projects in the pipeline for Blizzard (two remakes and a mobile title), the company is looking long term. The layoffs happened in non-development areas of the company (which I read as sales and administration) and they're still planning to expand development positions by 20%. This is all just preparation for 2019 being a lot less profitable than 2018.
