It truly is the end of an era. Gone are the days of the dominance of the Malabon Black Ops and the Markovsky Red Army over the Fleftic Basketball Association, and the 28 other teams of the FBA are licking their lips in anticipation of taking over as the new dominant force in the league. One of those teams appears to be the Uranium City Nukes, who themselves have already won a title in the waning years of the Malabon-Markovsky dynasties, and it is Jazz Higgs' team who has put an end to Riuwiee and Leonidas Baxter's own hopes of closing out his career with a bang and an FBA title. The Nukes swept aside the Presidents in four games, although the Presidents did come very close to evening out the series in game two and would have done so had not Leo missed a crucial free throw in the dying seconds of the game. Game four of the series proved to be the final game of Leo Baxter's professional career, and while he was able to bring back some of his old skill and flair to keep the game close, his final career triple-double was not enough to give Riuwiee a victory over Uranium City.

The first season of the post-Newton Isaacs era for the Markovsky Red Army was one to forget, if Red Army fans were to be completely honest. It was a difficult ask to keep above .500 without the power forward who had been there for them in their hour of need, but ultimately they were able to do just enough to sneak into the playoffs, only to go up against conference top seed Real Haritzaga Baloncesto. But despite the odds being completely stacked against them, the Red Army was able to take Haritzaga all the way to seven games, with Los Jugadores finally barely edging out the Reds by six points at the former's home court. Other notable results in this round see the Porcusces Giants triumph over Hayden Dorola's Mereilles Port Boys in six games and the Affeddall Beasts going all the way to knock out the Sfax Scream.

Here are the match-ups for the conference semifinals.

With the big two teams of Malabon and Markovsky now out of the way, the stars of the future were free to put their stamps on the league in this conference semifinals, and boy did they do it. Jack Tagle and Sergio Andres Campos of the Wanda Island Wizards were arguably the ones who saw their stock rise the highest as their team swept the Porcusces Giants in four games to book their second consecutive Central Conference Finals appearance in the IUBC era. Pridnestrovian Nikanor Liamaeu also contributed in the Bytuch Wyk SaberTigers' victory over the Affeddall Beasts to secure their first National Conference Finals appearance in three decades. Home town here Toni Cagromizuetakoechea also contributed his fair share to lift Real Haritzaga Baloncesto over the Mykorrigan MonStars, who are once again denied the chance to win their conference, while Jazz Higgs and the Uranium City Nukes were taken all the way by the Dorfdifving Steel but ultimately found a way to triumph and set up a rematch of last season's Central Conference Finals against the Wanda Island Wizards.

The Nukes and the Wizards met once again in the Central Conference Finals, and once again Jazz Higgs and the Nukes fell short of the final hurdle once again. And just like last season, the Nukes were able to win two games before the Wizards pulled it back to seal their second trip to the FBA Finals in as many years, although this time they made the Nukes win the first two games in Uranium City for... some reason. Maybe they wanted to give the Nukes fans a little semblance of hope before the Wizards oh so cruelly snatched it away with a four-game winning streak. Sergio Andres Campos was quite simply a beast for the Wizards, dominating all of Uranium City's power forwards and even their centers. Yes, the 7-foot-5 half Fleft half-Yeezie center for the Nukes and the Rebolusyonaryos Jazz Higgs was dominated by Sergio Andres Campos (who at 6-foot-9 is still nothing to be laughed at). With that said, the Wizards will be looking to dispel the ghosts of the past by going to the FBA Finals and hoping to win their first ever national championship.

In the National Conference Finals, it was another widely anticipated matchup between two of the FBA's rising stars in Nikanor Liamaeu and Toni Cagromizuetakoechea, and in this matchup it was the small forward from Releinthi Nat & State who came out on top, and boy did Toni and Los Jugadores wreck the SaberTigers. Arguably the closest that Bytuch Wyk came to winning a game in the conference finals was in the very first game, and even then Haritzaga managed to pull away and make the score a little more comfortable than it actually was. It was at that point that Haritzaga gained confidence, and Bytuch Wyk lost theirs, and that allowed the team from the Fhulghamous Peninsula Colony to steamroll over Bytuch Feld Province's boys and make their first ever FBA Finals appearance since moving from Port Thimpodopoulos.
2026-27 FBA Finals
Two teams once again compete for the chance to be crowned the best basketball team in Abanhfleft. The Wanda Island Wizards have already tried to do that once before and they failed against the Markovsky Red Army, whose captain, leader, and legend Newton Isaacs went home with the Agapito Benzon Trophy as a fitting end to his professional basketball career. Meanwhile, this is the first time that the team from the Fhulghamous will be going to the Finals under the name Real Haritzaga Baloncesto, but they've been there before, back when they were known as the Port Thimpodopoulos Engineers. Sure, they may not have won the Finals in the two times that the Engineers have been there, but the people of the colony's capital still appreciate what the team has done for Port Thim, but loyalties will still be tested as the team could finally have a chance at success after it had been moved to Haritzaga by a consortium led by Real Haritzaga Football Club. Let's just get on with the games and see who wins.

Wanda Island Wizards 88–64 Real Haritzaga Baloncesto
Wanda Island Wizards 85–58 Real Haritzaga Baloncesto
Real Haritzaga Baloncesto 70–91 Wanda Island Wizards
Real Haritzaga Baloncesto 67–93 Wanda Island Wizards

Wanda Island Wizards
wins the 2027 FBA Finals 4-0

And there we have it, ladies and gentlemen and whatever else you might identify as. The Wanda Island Wizards have finally done it. They've won the FBA Finals! All the Capital Division haters who said that the Wizards will never win an FBA championship can now shut their mouths, and we can trash that old joke about Wanda Island being the only team in the Capital Division to never win a title, because they now all have titles (yes, even Effelenendro, who weren't always a shit team). Sergio Andres Campos must have felt very proud when he raised that Agapito Benzon Trophy over his head. All the pain and all the anguish of an entire island have now been erased, and all of their hopes and dreams have finally come true. Enjoy that FBA Championship, Wanda Island; the rest of the FBA will be gunning for you now! And don't forget the IUBC!

10 BK Tukums 34 18 16 2560 2556 +4 54

17 Nord-Vest Representative Team 34 8 26 2366 2726 −360 24 Relegated to Basketball Second Division
18 Pepuza Patriots 34 6 28 2371 2839 −468 18 Relegated to Basketball Second Division

At this point, it is now hard, even impossible, to ignore the possibility that there must be some conspiracy going on in the Pridnestrovian Basketball Super League. I mean, how else do you explain the fact that the regular season championship has alternated between BC Admiral Novorossiysk and BC CSKA Tiraspol for the past five seasons? Of course, this theory completely ignores the fact that both aforementioned teams have always had some of the best squads ever assembled in the PBSL, and so it wouldn't actually be that surprising that both of these teams would have been among the champions of the past years. Still, that's not nearly as thinking that there's actually a conspiracy or, more lightly, a gentleman's agreement, between the two teams to win the regular season title in alternating years.

Down at the wrong end of the table, the two promoted teams from the Basketball Second Division, the Pepuza Patriots and the Nord-Vest Representative Team, have not made their stay in the top basketball league in Pridnestrovia a very long one. The Patriots of Pepuza had been pegged as one of the relegation candidates for this season, and they were pretty much dead in the water throughout the entirety of the season. But Nord-Vest actually had a chance to secure PBSL survival in the final day of the season as they went up against BC Komsomolskaya Tiraspol, another team seeking to avoid relegation to the Basketball Second Division. Nord-Vest needed to win against Komsomolskaya in order to avoid relegation through their better goal difference against Komsomol, but things didn't go the way of the Nord-Vesters. Nord-Vest lost 69-61 against Komsomolskaya, and they joined Pepuza Patriots in going back down to the Basketball Second Division. Is this is a sign that there is a growing divide between the teams in the PBSL and the Second Division?

Now this was a quarterfinals full of surprises! We had two upset results in this quarterfinals that have most certainly upset the balance of the PBSL playoff picture, leaving the field quite a bit open for other teams to take advantage. The two teams that have won the regular season championship in the past five years, BC Admiral Novorossiysk and BC CSKA Tiraspol, have both been eliminated from the playoffs. For fans of CSKA, things are still a little bit acceptable seeing as it was the Pridnestrovskaya Gavan Harbormasters, the surprise team of the 2022-23 season, that knocked them out, but it will be only a small consolation as their bitter rivals BC Dinamo Bender managed to sweep the 2022 champions Bratsk Buccaneers out of the playoff picture. But the biggest upset of them all undeniably goes to BC Unterspielsdorf, who managed to keep toe to toe with the regular season champions Admiral before finally striking the decisive blow at the Seamen's own home in a relatively low-scoring game. Meanwhile, defending champions Kesselburger Cagers managed to book their ticket into the semifinals despite a determined challenge from Dnistrolvovsk Loggers. The Loggers actually managed to edge the Cagers out in Game 3 of their series, but despite what had to have been a demoralizing defeat for Kesselburg, they bounced back and closed out the series away from home with a big win in Game 4.
2026-27 PBSL Semifinals
(4) Kesselburger Cagers vs. (8) BC Unterspielsdorf

Kesselburger Cagers 86–78 BC Unterspielsdorf
BC Unterspielsdorf 80–83 Kesselburger Cagers
Kesselburger Cagers 69–77 BC Unterspielsdorf
BC Unterspielsdorf 73–85 Kesselburger Cagers

Kesselburger Cagers
wins the series 3-1

(2) BC Dinamo Bender vs. (7) Pridnestrovskaya Gavan Harbormasters

BC Dinamo Bender 76–90 Pridnestrovskaya Gavan Harbormasters
Pridnestrovskaya Gavan Harbormasters 78
–63 BC Dinamo Bender
BC Dinamo Bender 88–64 Pridnestrovskaya Gavan Harbormasters
Pridnestrovskaya Gavan Harbormasters 78–77 BC Dinamo Bender

Pridnestrovskaya Gavan Harbormasters wins the series 3-1

One playoff favorite brushed off the challenge of an upstart, while another failed to overcome the final hurdle and stumbled right on their faces. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be. Or so the saying goes. Kesselburg and Unterspielsdorf squared off in an epic clash in the White Forest, but as expected, it was the defending champions who got the better of the team that had against all odds managed to defeat the regular season champions. Unterspielsdorf gave it their best, but their best wasn't good enough against a Kesselburg side seeking to tally their first ever three-peat, and the first ever three-peat in the history of the Pridnestrovian Basketball Super League (in its current format). But standing in their way will be the Pridnestrovskaya Gavan Harbormasters, who overcame a late BC Dinamo Bender surge in their Game 4 clash to set up a titanic clash in the PBSL Finals.

The Cagers of Kesselburg are once again the PBSL Finals, but this time, the Harbormasters of Pridnestrovskaya Gavan stand in the way of their first ever three-peat. Will Kesselburg be able to overcome their feisty challengers, or will Pridnestrovskaya Gavan finally get to lift their first ever PBSL Championship? There's only one way to find out.
2026-27 PBSL Finals
Kesselburger Cagers 100–78 Pridnestrovskaya Gavan Harbormasters
Pridnestrovskaya Gavan Harbormasters 60–103 Kesselburger Cagers
Kesselburger Cagers 91
–68 Pridnestrovskaya Gavan Harbormasters

Kesselburger Cagers wins the 2027 PBSL Championship 3-0

And there we have it, ladies and gentlemen. Kesselburg have completed their first ever three-peat. It's their first ever treble, and the first ever treble in the history of the Pridnestrovian Basketball Super League under its current format. After giving it all that they had against BC Dinamo Bender, it appears as if the Pridnestrovskaya Gavan Harbormasters have spent every ounce of luck and fortune that they had in that series, so much so that they had no more reserves left by the time they had to face the defending champions. The Harbormasters were simply unable to get anything out of the series, meaning that they won't even have the comfort of knowing that they gave it their all against Kesselburg. They all know that they came up short, and that they didn't do all that they could do to stop Kesselburg from creating a brand-new dynasty in the Pridnestrovian Basketball Super League. At least they now have the IUBC Championships to look forward to, although it is doubtful that they will actually look forward to that competition.

16 Bierburg Sentinels 30 4 2 24 388 624 −236 20 1 10 31

The Tikrit Oilers win their second consecutive Rugby Coalition minor premiership, and the Oilers also set history by being the first team in the seven-season history of the competition to tally more than one hundred league points in the regular season. The Oilers were already only two points off from breaking the one hundred-point barrier, and their haul of bonus points have carried them through the barrier and into the record and history books. Meanwhile, defending premiers Red Deg Red Bulls have managed to sneak into the playoffs, but they will have a very tough time defending their title as they are in the bottom part of the bracket, where a loss in their first ever postseason game this season will spell the end of the title defense, and their task will not get any easier as they will be up against the quietly impressive Kesselburger Packers at the Packers' home. And the Nineveh Whales have missed out on the playoffs entirely by a single measly point (and not points in the league at that), while the Bierburg Sentinels have tallied the worst ever record in the history of the competition, with only four wins and two draws to show for their latest wooden spoon. And with the reports that the Rugby Coalition is considering the establishment of a second division with direct promotion and relegation, Bierburg will have to improve soon if they wish to remain in the Rugby Coalition itself.
Image

Oshkosh Dnistrosh are quick to reestablish their dominance in the Rugby Coalition with a dominant 17-0 win over second place Bytuch Feld Dinosaurs. The reports of their demise with the introduction of the playoff system were clearly greatly exaggerated, although Dnistrosh haters may have had their hopes up for a brief moment when Bytuch Feld defeated Dnistrosh in a closely fought contest in their qualifying final matchup. Surely Bytuch Feld fans must have had their hopes up when they learned the news that Dnistrosh would be their opponents in the 2028 Rugby Coalition Grand Final, but as everyone knows, rugby is a sport of ups and downs, and right now Dnistrosh are on the up once again. Meanwhile, the defending premiers Red Deg Red Bulls are clearly on the down as they lost against a tight and well-disciplined Kesselburg side in their elimination final in the Ixanian Socialist State. Shame that the Packers couldn't do the same against Dnistrosh, but that's rugby union.

2026 Coalition Rugby League Regular Season Final Standings
ACRL Pld W D L PF PA PD Pts
1 Piranhacondas 22 19 0 3 361 143 +218 38 Minor premiers, Qualified for playoffs

8 Falcons 22 10 1 11 196 252 −56 21
9 Mountain Men 22 8 4 10 149 151 −2 20

11 Boxers 22 6 1 15 246 313 −67 13
12 Boars 22 6 1 15 160 254 −94 13

The Piranhacondas of Noh Deg have taken everyone by surprise with their utter domination of the Coalition Rugby League, racking up a 19-3 record in the regular season on their way to taking the minor premiership with a massive ten-point lead. Not bad for a team named after a B movie monster that nevertheless managed to rake in a hefty box office take in Copper Cuprum. Meanwhile, last season's premiers the Buccaneers will consider themselves lucky that they even managed to scrape into the playoffs despite a poor record. That said, there is something oddly satisfying about the Buccaneers having a neutral point differential. Something about things being perfectly balanced as they should always be.
Image

They may have come bottom of the seeds but that didn't stop the Buccaneers from successfully defending their Coalition Rugby League premiership. The Bucs survived a tough and challenging qualifying final against Pridnestrovia's Storm before they utterly dominated the minor premiers Piranhacondas to set up a grand final meeting with an unlikely team in the Dead Horses, based out of Keklavik in Fleftic Antarctica. The 2026 Coalition Rugby League Grand Final, played out in front of a 30,000-strong crowd in the May 26 Revolution Memorial Stadium in Riuwiee, Abanhfleft, did not disappoint in terms of thrills and spills, with the game finely poised and almost due to head for extra time before Ricardo Keswick scored the drop goal that would decide the game in favor of the home side Buccaneers. It was a thrilling match through and through, and their successful title defense also allows the Bucs the opportunity to attempt a second go at the International Rugby League Challenge Cup.

16 Nes Deg Stars 30 4 1 25 142 376 −234 9

The Sub Deg Raiders take home their second minor premiership in three seasons. They were among some of the more consistent sides in the league, and they will certainly count themselves lucky to have snatched the minor premiership from under the noses of last year's grand finalist Pad Deg Harriers. However, beyond the Raiders and the Harriers, a small but noticeable gap is beginning to grow between clubs in the top two and the rest of the league. Is this only just for this season, or will this become a trend in the future? Surely not. The structure of the Copperite Rugby League ensures that there is parity throughout the league and that every team has an equal chance of becoming a minor premier, a premier, or even a wooden spoon winner. Speaking of the wooden spoon, the Nes Deg Stars certainly deserved it, seeing as they didn't even bother with trying to win games at all, and some of their wins were certainly more to luck than any effort on their part. But surely the only way for the Stars now is up?
Image

Wonder of wonders, the Sub Deg Raiders have managed to win the premiership as well as the minor premiership! This was a feat that hadn't been done since 2020, when the Nay Deg Dragons won the double in the Copperite Rugby League. The CRL playoffs have lent themselves to a certain degree of unpredictability with the minor premiers getting knocked out in the early stages of the competition more often than not, but in the last few years, the minor premiers have managed to claw their way into the grand final, only to fall at the final hurdle and see another team lift the premiership. Not this season though. Sub Deg survived a qualifying final loss to the Vay Deg Eels by vanquishing the Bed Deg Bantams in the semifinal before scraping past the Pad Deg Harriers in the preliminary final to book a meeting against defending premiers Eb Deg Bulldogs, who were themselves looking to make history and become the first team since the Dragons in 2019 and 2020 to win consecutive premierships. Alas, for the Bulldogs, their dream did not come true as the Raiders proved to be superior to them in every sense of the word and paved the way for Sub Deg's first rugby league double in over two decades.

2026-27 FNIHL Regular Season

Postby Abanhfleft » Mon Dec 10, 2018 7:35 am

The Fleftic National Ice Hockey League is the premier ice hockey league in the Democratic Republic of Abanhfleft. It is made up of thirty teams divided into two conferences (Western and Eastern), and these two conferences are each further made up into three divisions, named after Fleftic hockey legends. Sixteen teams qualify for the playoffs for the chance to contest the Bixbee Cup, the biggest prize in Fleftic ice hockey.

2026-27 Bixbee Cup Finals
Two teams are left to contest the Bixbee Cup between themselves, the Immola Venom and the Wanda City Green Jackets. Both teams have had a storied history in the Bixbee Cup, with Immola winning five Bixbee Cups and Wanda City four. But while Immola were among one of the favorites for the Bixbee Cup this season, Wanda City were actually on the outside looking in, but the Green Jackets were able to overcome the odds and make it all the way to the Bixbee Cup. Can Wanda City's luck hold for one more series or will Immola clinch their sixth title?

The Koalition Hockey League is the latest entry into the APOC Coalition's continuing efforts to integrate sports all throughout the member nations of the Coalition. The Koalition Hockey League is originally supposed to be composed of thirty teams like the Fleftic National Ice Hockey League, but while the twenty teams that made up the Pridnestrovian Hockey First Division were ready to immediately join the new league, interest in ice hockey in the rest of the Coalition (apart from Abanhfleft) was not as high as in the other sports that the Coalition had planned like rugby union and rugby league. The Koalition Hockey League faced off with twenty-six teams (twenty from Pridnestrovia and six from the other members of the Coalition), with Pridnestrovia's Sparta Slatsk winning the first ever KHL title after sweeping the Marilao Missiles from the Sultanate of Oontaz. This season, two new teams join the league in the Markovsky Rusalkas and the Uranium City Gamma Rays, and they are special in that they are the first two all-women ice hockey teams to participate in a top-level league in the APOC Coalition (women have played in the Pridnestrovian leagues since 2019, but not in an all-women team). Without further ado, here is the second season of the Koalition Hockey League.

Of course, only twelve teams will actually have a ghost of a chance to win the ultimate prize in Fleftic gridiron, and of those twelve, only one can actually win it all. Let us see who has made it through the gauntlet that is the FNLAF regular season.

Well, that didn't last long, at least for the Wanda Island Wizards. Last year's champions, while they managed to win the Capital Division title, have failed to make it out of the first round of the playoffs. Pitted against the Dorfdifving Steel, the Wizards' heroes from last year Jack Tagle and Sergio Andres Campos were unable to turn on the heroics that led the Wizards to their first ever FBA title, and the Steel swept aside the defending champions to book a place in the conference semifinals against, of all teams, the Riuwiee Presidents. The Presidents made it through to the conference semifinals after a hard-fought series against the Mereilles Port Boys, who were looking to avenge the humiliation of the first round playoff exit last year. Except once again the Port Boys were humiliated, this time by Leonidas Baxter's new team. At least Hayden Dorola managed to turn a 3-0 potential sweep into a 3-3 fight to the death. Unfortunately for him, he didn't win the series. Oh, well. There's always next season. Over in the National Conference though, there's nothing much to report as all the teams who were expected to win the playoffs won their respective series.

Here are the match-ups for the conference semifinals.

Things are beginning to heat up in the FBA Playoffs. Uranium City and Jazz Higgs are through to yet another Central Conference Finals after seeing off the Lotharstadt Grenadiers, and waiting for them will be the Dorfdifving Steel, who dispatched of the Riuwiee Presidents after a long and hard-fought series. This will be the Steel's first ever conference finals appearance in over a decade, and victory in the conference finals could see Dorfdifving make their first ever FBA Finals since 1996. But they will have to go through the Uranium City Nukes first, and Jazz Higgs is not intent on any other team going through him so easily, not after coming so close to the finals last year.

Over in the National Conference, it's a very different story altogether. The top seed in the conference, the Pilken Mammoths, have bowed out of the playoffs after a grueling series against last year's finalists Real Haritzaga Baloncesto. Toni Cagromizuetakoechea was once again the leader of Los Jugadores, averaging over 25 points per game as Haritzaga booked their third consecutive National Conference Finals appearance. Up against them will be the Bytuch Wyk SaberTigers, who are also looking to take advantage of the vacuum presented by the end of the Malabon and Markovsky dynasties. It's going to be a tough battle between two favorites and two underdogs. Who's going to get to keep writing their stories, and who is going to see their stories end at the Conference Finals?

Here are the match-ups for the FBA Conference Finals.

Bytuch Wyk SaberTigers 76–82 Real Haritzaga Baloncesto
Real Haritzaga Baloncesto 78
–61 Bytuch Wyk SaberTigers
Real Haritzaga Baloncesto 97–64 Bytuch Wyk SaberTigers

Real Haritzaga Baloncesto wins the series 4-0

This could very well be a Central Conference Finals to remember! It's almost the prototypical comeback if you look at it that way. Dorfdifving were 3-1 up in the series come the end of Game 4. A massive potential upset looked to be on the cards, and Jazz Higgs and friends looked like they might be denied another FBA Finals appearance. But lo and behold, they won Game 5. And then they won Game 6. And come Game 7, when Uranium City needed to win in order to go through, they won it. It was a real slog from the start, but by the time Game 7 came around, the Nukes were on a roll and they nuked (forgive the pun) Dorfdifving to clear their path to the 2028 FBA Finals.

It was a completely different thing in the National Conference Finals. Real Haritzaga Baloncesto completely swept aside the Bytuch Wyk SaberTigers. However, doesn't this feel a little bit familiar? Haritzaga swept their conference finals series while the ones over at the Central Conference have to fight tooth and nail for the chance to get into the finals. Where have we last seen this one before? And what happened in the FBA Finals after that? Will history repeat itself? Haritzaga sure hopes that it won't.
2027-28 FBA Finals
Uranium City versus Haritzaga. Both of them have been here before, but not against each other. History is not on either Haritzaga or Uranium City's side, as the Nukes are 1-in-2 for FBA Finals appearances, while Los Jugadores have been swept in the Finals every time they had swept their opposition in the National Conference Finals. But one team has to win this game. Who's it going to be? Uranium City or Haritzaga? Only one way to find out.

Uranium City Nukes 95–90 Real Haritzaga Baloncesto
Uranium City Nukes 82–59 Real Haritzaga Baloncesto
Real Haritzaga Baloncesto 58–94 Uranium City Nukes
Real Haritzaga Baloncesto 67–85 Uranium City Nukes

Uranium City Nukes
wins the 2028 FBA Finals 4-0

Now this is simply unbelievable! The Uranium City Nukes have won the 2028 FBA Finals! Jazz Higgs, Steven Gerard Gallaza, Rainier Lopez; they've won it! Poor, poor Real Haritzaga Baloncesto have been swept in the Finals once again! Is there no end to their misery? Toni Cagromizuetakoechea, Hilario Reyes, and Apostolos Skandaris must be shaking their heads real hard. They've already come this close twice. When will they finally win the Agapito Benzon Trophy? Will they ever win that coveted FBA Championship? Ah, but that's a question that will only be answered in the next season. Meanwhile, say hello to your 2027-28 FBA Champions, the Uranium City Nukes!

18 BC Spartak Sonolovichyrevko 34 3 31 2438 2801 −363 9 Relegated to Basketball Second Division

Now isn't this an interesting development. A team other than CSKA Tiraspol and Admiral Novorossiysk have won the PBSL regular season championship. Not only that, but Kesselburger Cagers have also missed out on the playoffs altogether! What in the world is happening? The PBSL must have realized that the people are starting to catch on to their plot to keep the regular season championship between CSKA and Admiral and the PBSL Championship itself in Kesselburg so they've decided to say "screw the rules, it's a free for all now!" And boy was it a free for all. Only five wins separate first place from eighth, and the defending champions the Cagers have missed out on a playoff spot by just one game. But surely they've already had enough championships to last a lifetime. Let another team win it, Kesselburg!

But things are very troubling down at the wrong end of the table. Once again, the two sides promoted from the Basketball Second Division have failed to extend their stay in the Basketball Super League by more than one season. It's especially jarring when you look at the record of the Second Division champions Spartak Sonolovichyrevko, who have won only three games for the whole season. Three games! Perhaps there really is now a growing divide between the Super League and the Second Division. The last two teams from the Second Division to survive in the Basketball Super League are Komsomolskaya Tiraspol and Barrikada Renechev, and while they look closer to the bottom than the top of the table, don't let that fool you. They are very much comfortably mid-table teams now. Ah, such is life in the Pridnestrovian Basketball Super League.

BC Dinamo Bender

Two things of note to report from this quarterfinals series of the PBSL playoffs. First off, the obvious: we have a Derby of All Derbies right off the bat. Now here is where the PBSL organizers have messed up, or so the conspiracy theorists will have you believe. Why in the world would the Derby of All Derbies be played in the quarterfinals? Why not have it played in the semis or even the finals? Well, blame CSKA and their poor performance for that. And in the quarterfinals, Dinamo Bender have won the bragging rights, and probably rightfully so. Except for Game 1 (which CSKA won handily), every game in this series was in favor of Dinamo in almost every possible stat there is. Dinamo Bender go through to the semifinals, and rightfully so.

The other thing to talk about has to be the Admiral versus Dnistrolvovsk series. Everyone has been on Admiral's backs for not doing anything with their good league position in the playoffs, and once again they have given their critics the ammunition to attack them once again. And it's fair to say that they have their reasons to do so. First of all, who lets another team get a 2-0 lead, only to claw it back to 2-2, and then lose the all-important Game 5 to get knocked out of the playoffs? Admiral certainly did! And people wonder why the Seamen are a laughingstock in the Basketball Super League.

2027-28 PBSL Semifinals
(1) BC Sheriff Tiraspol vs. (5) Pridnestrovskaya Gavan Harbormasters

BC Sheriff Tiraspol 73–74 Pridnestrovskaya Gavan Harbormasters
Pridnestrovskaya Gavan Harbormasters 84
–76 BC Sheriff Tiraspol
BC Sheriff Tiraspol 85–77 Pridnestrovskaya Gavan Harbormasters
Pridnestrovskaya Gavan Harbormasters 79–65 BC Sheriff Tiraspol

Pridnestrovskaya Gavan Harbormasters wins the series 3-1

(6) Dnistrolvovsk Loggers vs. (2) BC Dinamo Bender

BC Dinamo Bender 80–59 Dnistrolvovsk Loggers
Dnistrolvovsk Loggers 66–71 BC Dinamo Bender
BC Dinamo Bender 76–79 Dnistrolvovsk Loggers
Dnistrolvovsk Loggers 76–83 BC Dinamo Bender

BC Dinamo Bender
wins the series 3-1

And once again, the regular season champions bow out at the semifinals. At this point, people are now seriously beginning to think that there is a curse on the top spot in the league. Every team that wins the regular season championship has never ever contested the PBSL Finals for the last six years. At least Sheriff Tiraspol got some bragging rights of their own over their city rivals CSKA and Komsomolskaya. Fans are very much petty and vindictive.

And now only two teams remain. Pridnestrovskaya Gavan are back in the big time, while this is Dinamo Bender's first time in some time back in the Finals. Who will prevail? We have at least three games and at most five to find out.
2027-28 PBSL Finals
(5) Pridnestrovskaya Gavan Harbormasters vs. (2) BC Dinamo Bender

BC Dinamo Bender 76–72 Pridnestrovskaya Gavan Harbormasters
Pridnestrovskaya Gavan Harbormasters 92–69 BC Dinamo Bender
BC Dinamo Bender 79–91 Pridnestrovskaya Gavan Harbormasters
Pridnestrovskaya Gavan Harbormasters 66–76 BC Dinamo Bender
BC Dinamo Bender 79
–64 Pridnestrovskaya Gavan Harbormasters

BC Dinamo Bender wins the 2028 PBSL Championship 3-2

And here is our answer. Once again, the Harbormasters have come up short. They had a real chance this time, or so they would like to tell themselves. But this year was Dinamo Bender's year. Simply no getting around that. Are Pridnestrovskaya Gavan on their way to becoming the PBSL's version of Abanhfleft's Real Haritzaga Baloncesto? Who knows? Will the Harbormasters ever win a PBSL Championship? Nobody knows, really. But at least they will get to participate once again in the IUBC Trophy.

For the first time in a long time, there are no massive upsets of the Fleftic Big Eight to report of in the third round of the SFA Cup. Certainly nothing of the scale of Arsenal de Releinthi's absolute humiliation at the hands of Niraza Rovers last year. In fact, this round it was Arsenal's turn to deal a spanking to their cup opponents Tanasteh United, while Niraza were eliminated after a 2-1 loss against Liga Ikatlo side Zzimmonnttogg Wolves. However, that isn't to say that two favorites for the cup have been knocked out already. Riuwiee United were drawn at home against Rosenpfelblatz City, and the cup holders relied once again upon their vaunted defense to hold firm against Rosen City's stellar attack and nick a goal at the death to ensure that the Blue Tribesmen will continue their cup defense for at least one more round. On the other side of the coin however, Wanda Island Wanderers have been knocked out of the cup by Thereisnogodistan following an eight-goal thriller at the Richard Dawkins Park. The Atheists will go marching in to the fourth round, while it's yet another long wait for Wanda Island to finally break their title drought.

2026-27 SFA Cup Fourth Round
Miroz Old Boys 2–4 Gyouza Young Lads
Pilken Kickers 1–4 Riuwiee United
Vikrant Rovers 0–0 Keklavik United (0–0 AET) (4–5 pen.)
Imperial Markovsky
3–0 North Iboyie Albion
Malabon SC 5–2 Zzimmonnttogg Wolves
Kimmirut Panhandle 2–3 Marinos Thimpodopoulos
Antslinngs Islands
0–0 Xemlice Rovers (1–0 AET)
All-Inclusive Haranguer 1

How does one get through a round of the SFA Cup when the first match drawn right off the bat is the Old versus New Derby? Yes, Miroz and Gyouza have been drawn against each other in the SFA Cup, and the draw has renewed the old rivalry between the Old Boys and the Young Lads. The Young Lads hold the upper hand in just about every sense of the word in the current footballing climate, seeing as they are in the Premier League and Miroz are still in Unang Liga, and they once again got the last laugh over their rivals as Gyouza dumped four goals on Miroz to book a place in the fifth round. Cup holders Riuwiee United also hit for four the 2023 finalists Pilken Kickers continue their defense of the tin idol. And the upset of the round award goes to Locomotive Imgortur, the unlikely champions of the 2025-26 Fleftic Premier League, who scored three goals against Arsenal de Releinthi and put to an end the Gunners' hopes of potentially lifting the trophy at their bitter rivals Riuwiee United's home ground.

2026-27 SFA Cup Fifth Round
Antslinngs Islands 2–3 Bananas FC
Ludogorets Markovsky 0–1 Imperial Markovsky
Gyouza Young Lads 2
–1 Locomotive Imgortur
Eielo Sunlight 0–1 Fleftic Air Force
Malabon SC 0–1 Riuwiee United
Admiral Porcusces 3–3 Marinos Thimpodopoulos (3–4 AET)
Sarvusdalamoive 0–1 All-Inclusive Haranguer
Sporting Ceneisis 4
–0 Keklavik United

What in the world!? A Markovsky derby in the SFA Cup? Is such a thing even possible? And how in the world has Imperial Markovsky survived this long into the SFA Cup season? It must have something to do with Vitaly Zima. And yes, it was none other than Vitaly Zima who scored Imperial's winning goal against Ludogorets and secured the Tsars' place in the quarterfinals of the cup. Another notable upset in this round would be the Gyouza Young Lads defeating the defending Premier League champions Locomotive Imgortur, coming back from 1-0 down to win 2-1 thanks to goals from Mawarka Pasube and Andre Sumner. Marinos Thimpodopoulos, despite being embroiled in a relegation battle in the Premier League this season, have found it in themselves to survive to live another day in the SFA Cup after a seven-goal thriller at Filibusters' Street; Rex Dithers with the winning goal. And Riuwiee United's defense continues with yet another slender but well-fought victory, this time over Malabon SC at San Roque Park, and it was the man who handed them the tin idol last year that continued their cup defense in Edison Joao, scoring yet another brilliant long-range shot to send the Blue Tribesmen through to the quarterfinals.

2026-27 SFA Cup Quarterfinals
Riuwiee United 2–2 Marinos Thimpodopoulos (3–2 AET)
All-Inclusive Haranguer 3–5 Fleftic Air Force
Sporting Ceneisis 2
–0 Gyouza Young Lads
Bananas FC 1–0 Imperial Markovsky

All good things must come to an end, and for Imperial Markovsky, the end has come at the NLighten Arena, home of the 2025 SFA Cup champions Bananas FC, courtesy of a single Patrick Culimbat goal. The Tsars gave it their all, but luck simply wasn't with them on this day. Nothing could have made that more clearer than when the VAR chalked off what would have been Vitaly Zima's equalizer for offside. Even despite the advances in VAR technology, it was still tough to determine whether Zima was really offside or not when he scored from a tap-in situation, but the mere fact that it was called offside when it could also very easily have been called onside was just proof of the lack of luck on Imperial Markovsky's part on this day. And speaking of luck, Riuwiee United certainly rode their fair share of it before they finally managed to triumph over Marinos Thimpodopoulos in extra time. Young striker Glenn David proved to be the difference between the Blue Tribesmen and the Mariners, but because of Riuwiee United's progress through to the semifinals, the May 26 Revolution Memorial Stadium cannot be used as a venue for said semifinals once again. This year, Wanda Island Wanderers' IKEA Arena has been designated as the neutral venue for both the semifinals and the final of the SFA Cup.

2026-27 SFA Cup Semifinals
@ IKEA Arena, Wanda City, Wanda Island

Fleftic Air Force 1–0 Riuwiee United
Bananas FC 1–0 Sporting Ceneisis

Thus Riuwiee United's cup defense ends. The Blue Tribesmen fell victim to the very same strategy that they had often used to outwit and outlast their opponents, both in the league and in the cup, as Fleftic Air Force took a very early lead (as in just two minutes into the game) and hung on to it for their dear lives. It's a similar story for Sporting Ceneisis as their opponents Bananas FC also took an early lead (although the Suwkpel club scored around the 15th minute so it wasn't as early as Fleftic Air Force's goal) and then defended it with all that they got. The fog has finally lifted, and the two teams who will contest the 2027 SFA Cup Final have been revealed to be Bananas FC and Fleftic Air Force. The Air Force club has not won the SFA Cup since 1997 while the Suwkpel outfit's most recent victory in the competition was just two years ago against Xemlice Rovers. Will Fleftic Air Force finally get their hands on a trophy that has proven elusive for them in recent years, or will Bananas FC become the first repeat winners of the SFA Cup in the UICA era?

2026-27 SFA Cup Final
@ IKEA Arena, Wanda City, Wanda Island

Bananas FC 0–0 Fleftic Air Force (0–1 AET)

It took them 120 minutes, but the Fleftic Air Force has finally managed to win the SFA Cup yet again. It might not be the most exciting SFA Cup Final in terms of overall action; both teams decided to stick to their tactics of holding steady on defense and waiting for the other side to slip up, resulting in probably one of the most boring 90 minutes of football played in the final of such a historic competition. But once Monad Murad scored just five minutes after the start of the extra thirty minutes, the game finally came alive as Bananas tried to find that equalizing goal while Fleftic Air Force wanted to score the second goal that would essentially see of the game in their favor. But the scoreline did remain in the Air Force club's favor, and thus they finally reaped the rewards of their slow and patient play. And still, no one has won the SFA Cup twice in the UICA era! Enjoy the tin idol while it lasts, Fleftic Air Force; the next cup campaign is always going to be the toughest, especially for the defending champions!

The very first tie of the first round of the 2026-27 Pridnestrovian Cup sees the defending cup winners Kesselburger Kickers take on fellow NPFL Aviapromet Olimp, and the Kickers see off the Aviators with a Karl Drobnitz penalty. A fair few other sides also got past their ties by the skin of their teeth, while some teams made statements of intent to compete in this cup if the scorelines that they produced were any indication. Admiral Tuzla, Fortuna Novonikolaysk, Ufa Verkhovyansk, Torpedo Yeralenko; they all mean business now, now that they've scored at least five goals in this tournament. And the biggest upset of this round absolutely has to go to Avankumspor, one of a handful of Hatay State League sides that had survived to make it all the way to the First Round Proper, and they were rewarded with a home draw against Rotor Dnistrosh, winners of the cup back in 2009. Meanwhile, Avankumspor had never made it to the first round of the Pridnestrovian Cup since 1999, a full decade before Rotor had won the cup for the most recent time in its history. And to the great shock and surprise of many, it was the side from Hatay who scored the first and only goal of the game, Sancak Denizli heading in the winning goal right at the 60th minute to secure Avankumspor's biggest ever Pridnestrovian Cup upset in its history. And who can ignore the Rheinburg Derby between Union and Shakhtar. Both teams are chasing after the Super League title this season, and apparently they are also both very interested in potentially winning a double. But there will be no double for Union Rheinburg as their rivals Shakhtar eliminated them from the cup courtesy of Norbert Tarsipov's 80th minute winner.

2026-27 Pridnestrovian Cup Second Round
Dinamo Bender 3–0 Bierburger SV
FC 23 August 1–0 Dnistro Dnistropavlovsk
1895 Lekhwiya Pepuza 1–0 Fortuna Novonikolaysk
Submarin Yeralenko 0–1 Lokomotiv Novosverdlovsk
Traktor Bender
0–0 Masyafspor (0–0 AET) (3–2 pen.)
Ufa Verkhovyansk
0–0 Olimpia Strebsk (1–0 AET)
Avankumspor 0–5 Larnakaspor
CSKA Muktarbariyevo 0–3 Derinkuyuspor
Vorpommern Nyqvist 1
–0 Torpedo Yeralenko
Exiles FK 1–0 Shakhtar Rheinburg
FK Pridnestrovskaya Gavan 3–2 Metallurgist Beledor
Sheriff Tiraspol 1–1 Spartak Tiraspol (1–1 AET) (5–4 pen.)
Admiral Novorossiysk 4
–0 Kesselburger Kickers
Szigetszentmiklos 1–0 CSKA Tiraspol
Dinamo Vitebsk 0–0 Dinamo Macaresti (0–0 AET) (2–0 pen.)
SG 08 Chemie Mitwitz 1–2 Admiral Tuzla

Kesselburger Kickers will no longer be able to defend the Pridnestrovian Cup as they have been eliminated by Super League side Admiral Novorossiysk. Not just knocked out; the Kickers were kicked out by the Seamen. But Admiral can consider themselves lucky. Might as well call this second round of the Pridnestrovian Cup the round of upsets because it is just chock full of them. Pepuza eliminated Fortuna Novonikolaysk; Traktor Bender dumped out Masyafspor after 120 minutes and penalties; Exiles FK knocked out the double-chasing Shakhtar Rheinburg side; FK Pridnestrovskaya Gavan survived a five-goal thriller against Metallurgist Beledor; and CSKA Tiraspol bowed out after a 1-0 defeat at Szigetszentmiklos. A lot of the favorite sides to win the cup have now been eliminated. Now only a few favorites remain, and after this they will not feel real secure in their favorite status anymore. Swings and roundabouts and all that stuff.

2026-27 Pridnestrovian Cup Third Round
Larnakaspor 0–3 Szigetszentmiklos
Lokomotiv Novosverdlovsk 1
–0 FC 23 August
Admiral Tuzla 0–0 Derinkuyuspor (0–2 AET)
Admiral Novorossiysk 4
–1 FK Pridnestrovskaya Gavan
Traktor Bender 1–1 Dinamo Bender (1–1 AET) (5–4 pen.)
Ufa Verkhovyansk 5
–2 1895 Lekhwiya Pepuza
Exiles FK 2–2 Sheriff Tiraspol (2–2 AET) (2–4 pen.)
Vorpommern Nyqvist 3
–0 Dinamo Vitebsk

Welcome to the true business end of the Pridnestrovian Cup. As the quarterfinals looms, teams are now choosing whether to go all out in the cup or focus on the league. And for some teams, the call of the leagues is much bigger than that of the cup. At least that's what fans of Dinamo Bender would rather choose to think after they were knocked out of the cup on penalties by their city rivals Traktor. Some other Super League sides are still choosing to give the cup their all, with Admiral Novorossiysk, Sheriff Tiraspol, Ufa Verkhovyansk, and Szigetszentmiklos all going through to the quarterfinals.

2026-27 Pridnestrovian Cup Quarterfinals
Vorpommern Nyqvist 1–0 Ufa Verkhovyansk
Derinkuyuspor 0–1 Admiral Novorossiysk
Lokomotiv Novosverdlovsk 6
–1 Traktor Bender
Szigetszentmiklos 1–1 Sheriff Tiraspol (2–1 AET)

Eight teams have now become four. And one team that has seemed to decide to bank the success of their season on a Pridnestrovian Cup has seen their gamble succeed in the form of Admiral Novorossiysk as they are now through to the semifinals, only two games away from potentially playing for the cup at the New Army Stadium in Tiraspol. Imagine the uproar, especially among CSKA fans, if their rivals from the Navy end up winning the cup in their home ground. But that is already thinking ahead before the next game has even played. All the other teams left in the competition are a potential banana peel for Admiral to potentially slip up, but they are still the big favorites to win the Pridnestrovian Cup after significant competition in the form of Ufa Verkhovyansk and Sheriff Tiraspol were eliminated from the cup.

2026-27 Pridnestrovian Cup Semifinals
Semifinal 1: Lokomotiv Novosverdlovsk vs Vorpommern Nyqvist

Leg 1 @ Lokomotiv Stadium, Novosverdlovsk, Transnistrian Socialist State
Lokomotiv Novosverdlovsk 0–3 Vorpommern Nyqvist

Leg 2 @ Arlanda Arena, Nyqvist, Ixanian Socialist State
Vorpommern Nyqvist 0–1 Lokomotiv Novosverdlovsk

Vorpommern Nyqvist advances to the Pridnestrovian Cup Final 3-1 on aggregate

In this fight between two NPFL sides to see who will go on to Tiraspol, Vorpommern Nyqvist proved too strong for their NPFL comrades Lokomotiv Novosverdlovsk and the Oxen will book their tickets to New Army Stadium courtesy of a 3-0 victory away to Novosverdlovsk. Nyqvist then knew that all they had to do at their own home ground was to defend their three-goal lead, and while Lokomotiv managed to score once against them, it was not enough to overturn Nyqvist's advantage and they will get to play in the 2027 Pridnestrovian Cup Final against either Admiral Novorossiysk or Szigetszentmiklos.

Semifinal 2: Admiral Novorossiysk vs Szigetszentmiklos
Leg 1 @ Admiral Stadium, Novorossiysk-na-Dnistr, Transnistrian Socialist State
Admiral Novorossiysk 2–2 Szigetszentmiklos

Leg 2 @ Stadion Sportivnaya ulitsa, Szigetszentmiklos, Ixanian Socialist State
Szigetszentmiklos 1–4 Admiral Novorossiysk

Admiral Novorossiysk advances to the Pridnestrovian Cup Final 6-3 on aggregate

Admiral fans must have been dreading the away leg against Szigetszentmiklos when all they could do at home was a 2-2 result after the Ixanian outfit came back from 2-0 down. But it turns out that they need not have worried as Admiral gave it their best shot at the Sporting Street Stadium and came away with an important 4-1 win, taking their aggregate up to 6-3 and securing their passage to the Pridnestrovian Cup Final. Admiral Novorossiysk now has a chance to win a trophy at the home ground of one of their biggest and most bitter rivals. It will make up for all the banter that they had had to endure during the time that they were surprisingly relegated from the Super League. But of course they will have to win against Vorpommern Nyqvist first, and Nyqvist are not in the business of handing out favors. Who shall triumph and win the oldest cup competition in Pridnestrovia?

2026-27 Pridnestrovian Cup Final
@ New Army Stadium, Tiraspol, Transnistrian Socialist State
Admiral Novorossiysk 0–1 Vorpommern Nyqvist

By all that is great and holy, Vorpommern Nyqvist have actually done it! They've only gone and defeated Admiral Novorossiysk, and right at the home ground of their bitter Army rivals as well! Oran Adanir has just given CSKA fans the license to laugh at Admiral fans once again. Nothing short of either Admiral winning the Super League or CSKA getting relegated will ever erase the taint of this defeat for Novorossiysk. But while all that is going on, Vorpommern Nyqvist are happily lifting up the Pridnestrovian Cup without a care in the world.
