Air Terranea [OPEN]

Postby Ceni » Sun Jan 20, 2019 5:14 pm

FROM THE DESK OF XINA IESAN

To the multiverse:

After our carrier was created a very short time ago, from a merger between Ceniana and Air Electrum, the leaders of our company sat down to discuss the future of our combined company and its operations. We decided that, throughout the process of the merger, we will hold our credo dear to heart no matter where we fly or what plane we're flying on. And that credo, distilled down to its very essence, is to serve the customer, not our bottom line. The customer will always come first, no matter what comes - rain or shine, snow or hail, we will do our best to serve you, the customer. As part of that credo, we pledge to do the following things every time you fly with us:

1. Safety comes first. The safety of our customers is always our paramount concern. Our dedicated maintenance crew at several of our main hub airports keeps all the planes up and running to the manufacturer's specifications, and we run safety checks randomly on random planes and at random times to ensure that all of our planes are in the best condition possible. Our pilots are trained using the most up-to-date techniques, including Crew Resource Management, to make sure that they know all the latest procedures and techniques. Pilots go through re-certification every two years and have classes every year to make sure they're continuing to be some of the safest in the multiverse.

2. On time, every time. We aim to be on time more than 90% of flights and to get you and your baggage to the destination as quickly as possible. While this is an ambitious goal, we aim to always have a quick turnaround in order to get you in the air sooner rather than later so you can get to your destination or connections with a minimum of hassle.

3. Friendly customer service from gate to gate. We endeavor to have friendly service that serves to reduce your hassle on all parts of your journey, from curbside check-in to baggage handling at the other end. We do recognize that sometimes, things may go wrong, due to weather events, geopolitical situations, or other things out of our control. If that happens, we pledge to do our best to get you to your destination as quickly as possible, whether from rescheduling you on another AT flight or another airline's. If this isn't possible, we will gladly pay for hotel costs, food costs, and transportation so your delay isn't a stressful experience. Whenever something happens that you aren't satisfied with, we are always here with a friendly smile to help.

4. Supporting the environment. We recognize that every time you fly, we contribute to carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions. Therefore, we do our part in supporting the environment, from using the newest, most eco-friendly planes in the air to using recycled materials in our terminals and lounges to supporting sustainable development in countries we fly to. We hope to be a trailblazer in reducing our impact on the environment.

5. Giving back to the community. We recognize that the community allows us to operate, so we like to give back to the community. We do this by contributing to local charities, donating our associates' hours to volunteer causes, and by sponsoring sports clinics for underserved youth. We also sponsor sports tournaments around the globe in order to promote the involvement of young people in sport, which can keep them happy and healthy.

We hope that you take into mind these 5 pledges, and continue to fly Air Terranea throughout the future!

Sincerely,
Xina Iesan

In 1995, Euran carriers dominated the air travel market in both Ceni and Electrum as well as most of the surrounding Terranea region. When Euran carriers began to expand more in the domestic market around this time and reduce services to Ceni and Electrum in order to cut costs, the Cenian government would have no more, founding Ceniana under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade. The carrier began as a small airline dedicated to serve the small country's growing travel needs towards Eura, Electrum, New Gelderland, and other Terranean countries, as the country needed ways to ship products from its rapidly growing economy to Eura and Terranea as well as attract more tourists and business professionals and cater to a large Euran expatriate population living in Ceni. The airline purchased 3 planes, one Monteluci A350, A200, and A100 in order to serve the small island. Services quickly caught on and the airline quickly expanded both its fleet and its destination base throughout Rushmore.

By 2000, the Cenian government no longer had the capital nor the inclination to continue financing the expansion of Ceniana, which had then secured rights throughout all three of the sporting regions. They therefore made the decision to partially privatize the airline, selling 75% of the company to outside investors and the Cenial International Stock Exchange (CISEX) while retaining 25% ownership for themselves. This helped to pump more capital into the airline, allowing it to expand its fleet and destination services even further throughout the sporting regions. It established hubs in Esportiva and Atlantian Oceania and began to challenge the dominance of Quebeçois carriers Aeroquebec and Spiritair both in their home grounds in Atlantian Oceania and throughout the sporting regions in general while investing more in both short-range, regional hops and more profitable long-range journeys.

Around 2012, under the direction of CEO Olmas Epia, Ceniana decided to open its services to regions outside the three major sporting regions and Astyria. As part of this new strategy, Ceniana would be one of the first customers of the newly released Monteluci A360 and Monteluci A500 airplanes. However, after about a year and a half of expansion, the company began to start losing money, courtesy of what some would say a too-rapid expansion into unprofitable destinations as well as the expensive expansion of the fleet. Thus, in 2014, the Ceniana board of directors fired Epia and replaced him with Xina Iesan, a flight attendant turned corporate executive. After that, the company's fortunes began turning around, with a new focus on long-distance routes, business and first class, cargo, and the sporting regions, shying away from further expansion in outside of their core areas. Profits began to rise again and Ceniana began a modest plan of expansion.

About the same time that Epia was masterminding new expansion plans outside of Ceniana's core areas of operation, the Electrumite government approved plans to start a new national carrier, Air Electrum, to serve their nation. Two years after final paperwork was signed, the airline was ready to start operations, with a new fleet and highly competently trained crew. Along with that, the government introduced a renovation of the Centralis airport in order for it to better serve as the hub of a worldwide airline. They expanded quickly both internationally and domestically, building a modest route network within two years.

In 2015, the two carriers started talks about the possibility of a merger, considering the overlap of certain high-profitability routes (such as to Eura) as well as the complimentary nature of route structures, with each bringing different route structures to the table. Talks were shelved, though, with the Olympics being hosted in Centralis and then in Prescott, although Ceniana was nominated to be an official carrier of the Summer Olympics held in Centralis and Nassau Bay, New Gelderland. With the successful completion of the Olympics and the cooperation of the two airlines, talks resumed, and the two carriers agreed to merge shortly after the completion of the Winter Olympics. The two carriers took a while to merge their respective operations, and the process is still ongoing, but by May 2016, the combined website of the new carrier, Air Terranea, was operational.

Plus, on our longer-range flights, these seats recline partially to provide you with a more comfortable sleeping experience. Every seat is equipped with 11-inch in-flight entertainment system, which is detailed below.

On all flights, you have the option of two seating choices, which can either help keep your body weight centered and your posture straight while working on business or reclined so you can make use of the provided ottoman. Seats are fully reclinable so you can covert your seat into a bed (on long range flights only). If you want to use our in-flight entertainment, we have free noise-canceling headphones and an 18-inch screen for your enjoyment. To keep your business rolling, we have stowage spaces for all your personal needs and ample capacity for charging devices. Some planes come equipped with free WiFi (check with your flight attendant!). Business class passengers get access to our lounges and priority boarding.

Your leather armchair is hand-stitched, diamond-patterned leather, and fine wood decorates the inside of the space. Two adjoining Swallow Class cabins can be converted into one suite if you're traveling with a partner or loved one. In addition, out Healthy Dining Options feature cooking techniques and styles that maintain the integrity of fresh ingredients through long periods of heating at low temperatures while requiring less use of fats and oils in cooking. Economy class customers can enjoy a full range of complimentary snacks and drinks, from the classic of roasted peanuts to more savory or sweet options depending on the flight and the day, as we cycle through our wide variety of complimentary snack options on every flight. A selection of complimentary drinks are also available, from a selection of non-alcoholic beverages from South Seas Soda Company as well as select beers from Cavalier Brewing Company and select red and white wines from Liberal Estates of New Gelderland. Champagne will also be available for a modest fee. First Class passengers can enjoy the finest of dining when in the air, comparable to the finest restaurants on the ground. A culinary panel of 6 chefs from around the world are constantly taking into account their own culinary heritage and that of our various destinations to create new dishes, which change for every single route to different destinations. We offer meals from the more traditional to the more exotic, from the tender filet mignon to delectable and spicy curries to lobster soup and sweet and spicy ribs. Ordering meals is simple and easy when flying First Class and Swallow Class, with just a call to the crew enough to place your order. First and Swallow Class passengers can also order options off our Healthy Dining Options menu to reduce their calorie intake and maintain their health. To drink, First and Swallow Class passengers can choose from a wide variety of alcoholic beverages, spirits, cocktails, vintage wines, and champagnes, all complimentary, with hot teas served on every flight. We also offer warm cappuccinos to help wake up our customers. Passengers can also enjoy freshly baked cookies at all hours, and the cookies have become a trademark of Air Terranean flights. All meals are served on bone china tableware, with linen placemats and napkins and stainless steel silverware.

Checking In
We do offer several options to streamline your check-in experience. You can check in and print boarding passes online 24 hours before your flight, or use our Air Terranea app and use a mobile boarding pass, and check in that way. We also offer curbside check-in and baggage check at select airports. At all airports we serve, we have self-check-in and self-baggage check and check-in with customer service representatives, who will help check you and check your baggage. Please be sure to keep your boarding pass on your person at all times and to take your baggage check receipts, in case of loss or damage. Also, please note that our representatives are required to check your passport in all international flights, so please make sure to have that available.

Customs and Security
Please be prepared to enter the airport through security at all destinations. Due to increased security procedures, security is taking longer, so make sure you arrive at the airport at least two hours before your flight on domestic flights or three hours before your flight on international flights. In order to expedite the process, please take the following tips in mind to make your experience go with less hassle:
  • Do not carry items or baggage onboard for other people
  • Pour out liquids in above 3-ounce containers and put other liquids in a quart-sized bag
  • Put any laptops in a separate bag for screening
  • Do not bring any prohibited items
  • Take off shoes and belt before entering
  • Weapons and sharp items must be checked. They may not be placed in carry-on luggage.
At hubs, focus cities, and select other airports, Air Terranea will supply dedicated staff at security lines to expedite the security process. They will help screening agents with non-screening tasks, such as circulating boxes, answering questions, and directing lines. This helps to alleviate pressure at crowded airports. Additionally, Air Terranea checks all passports against the international database of stolen or lost passports to reduce the risk of a stolen passport being used on a flight.

Each nation has their own customs and passport requirements, so be sure to check them before you fly with us. Most nations require the following documentation to enter their nation, so bring the following at least:
  • Ticket and/or boarding pass - Provides proof of passage and payment. Our airline cannot let you fly without one, as it shows us, the airline, you have paid for your seat on the flight.
  • Identification - For international flights, a passport; for domestic flights or flights within the TFTZ, a passport is not required for identification
  • Visa - depending on the country of origin and departure, it must be obtained in your nearest embassy or consulate or can be obtained online. Make sure you get your visa before travelling with us or you might be denied entry. Electrum and Ceni both have liberal visa policies, with visas able to be procured on arrival, but some special circumstances apply, so check online for details.
  • Arrival form - Will be handed out before arrival to an international destination. It helps with customs and is where you declare goods and other information about your visit.
As for customs, check your nation's laws regarding prohibited items. Many nations prohibit or require declaration of dangerous items (such as guns, knives, or fireworks), illegal drugs, alcohol, meat or plant products, excessive quantities of cash, or other items, so make sure you check to see what you can or cannot bring into a country. We prohibit carrying fireworks, flammable items, corrosives, radioactive materials, or other dangerous goods in any baggage, and we will confiscate any such items found in baggage.

For drugs, we generally do not allow smoking on the flight, pursuant to Electrumite and Cenian regulations. We also recognize that drugs sold over-the-counter or prescription drugs in some countries are controlled substances in other and can result in stiff penalties. Therefore, we request that you check if your drugs are permissible in your destination country, and we reserve the right to confiscate any illegal drugs found in your possession on the plane. We will not serve more alcohol to a person who is visibly drunk.

Special Circumstances

Our agents will help the minors during each step of the journey, and they will receive special considerations to ensure that their trip does not present a hassle; we will also assist with customs/immigration on international flights.

Pets, Disability and Service Dogs: We do not allow pets in the cabin of the plane in order to prevent them from blocking the aisle, disrupt the flight, or affect those passengers with pet allergies. They will be transported in approved pet containers in our environmentally controlled and oxygenated cargo hold which will ensure that your pets reach the destination safely and securely. A special exception is provided for service dogs, which can travel with the person who they are travelling with, provided that they don't block the aisles and are toilet-trained.

Wheelchairs: If passengers do not require a specialized wheelchair, and can use the airport-issued one, then they can submit their personal wheelchair into check-in at no additional cost. If they require the special wheelchair throughout the entire journey, they are allowed special treatment onto the plane first, where they are moved from the wheelchair to their seat. Then, the wheelchair is stowed away in a special cabin until arrival. Once most of the passengers have deplaned, the wheelchair is wheeled back out and the passenger may continue on their journey.

Impaired Vision/Hearing: Those who require mobility assistance will have a designated flight attendant to travel with them, even guiding them through customs and passport control until they reach their destination. For those who have impaired vision, the same treatment will be given to them as well. For those who have impaired hearing, we ensure that every entertainment system has subtitles and also our staff will assist you.

Inflight Assistance: We have systems available on our planes that allow you to request a flight attendant for whatever reason, located in your above-seat console and in your in-flight entertainment system. We always try to assist our customers with whatever they may need as much as possible.[/quote]

We strongly encourage repeat flyers, and, to encourage that, we've set up a world-class Frequent Flier program, Terranean Skies. Points are earned using a formula based on distance/time and what class you fly in. You generally earn 1 credit for every 1 kilometer you fly, rounded to the nearest 100 kilometers. Credits can also be earned with qualifying purchases on our Air Terranean Ergo credit card or with purchases at our various partners. Premium economy has a multiplier of x1.5, business class by x2, and first class by x3. Once you earn enough miles, you can gain membership in one of our four levels of membership: Bronze Level, Silver Level, Gold Level, or Platinum Level. The more miles you earn, the more tiers you can access, and the more benefits you will earn! Additionally, miles can be redeemed easily for flights, upgrades, or stays and vacation packages with our partners.

Please do not uncheck "third and fourth freedoms."

I'm going to offer an OOC explanation for this application, which I know isn't really standard for NS airline storefronts. IRL, complex computer systems determine the scheduling of airline routes: which planes fly which routes when, which routes are popular enough to warrant multiple flights a day, which routes aren't popular enough to offer services at all. As a college student without these complex computer systems or the time and energy to determine which kinds of planes fly what routes how many times a day, I'm going to leave this to the IC gnomes to figure out. If you have a RP need to specify a certain route or a certain plane type, I'm more than happy to oblige if you TG me. Any other questions about this can be addressed by TG, but generally, my answer will be "We'll let the IC gnomes sort out *xyz regulatory issue*.

I will only consider partnership applications from companies that fly to at least one of our hubs (see destinations list) or from companies that have a hub in an airport that Air Terranea flies to. NSS airlines may automatically assume they fly to Cenial; this is not true for GE&T airlines. It doesn't make sense ICly to have a partnership with an airline where there's no connectivity between the two markets. (This generally means that if I deny your airport application, I will deny the corresponding airline partner application.)

FROM THE DESK OF XINA IESAN

To the multiverse:

I wish to express my gratitude to all our customers, employees, and partners for helping to make Air Terranea the company it has become. With almost 500 destinations, Air Terranea is one of the largest airlines in the world, connecting the sporting regions of Rushmore, Atlantian Oceania, and Rushmore with the rest of the world. Although our company has taken the last several months to reevaluate our core philosophies and had consequently closed off applications for new destinations and partners, among other things, I am happy to announce that we have decided to reopen our storefront to applications from the rest of the world. We hope that our period of reevaluation has allowed us to improve the quality of our services.

Sincerely,
Xina Iesan

A short paragraph about your company: Danlina Jet Industries provide alkali water fueled engine products, that are a cheap yet reliable alternative to the popular fossil fueled engines. Furthermore, our engines are extremely eco friendly in comparison to regular fossil fueled engines.
What service will you offer to Air Terranea? Danlina Jet Industries are offering Air Terranea to purchase our un-ionizing engines to be used on your planes. The engines themselves might be a bit expensive, but in the long run they will cut Air Terranea’s fuel expenses.

Dear Mr. Aviram,

My name is Aubrey Lewis, and I am the director of maintenance, safety, and aircraft here at Air Terranea. Both our executive team and board of directors are intrigued by your proposal, especially due to our commitment to environmental friendliness and desire to improve our operating costs. At the same time, we also wish to reiterate our firm commitment to safety. While we are intrigued by your proposal, we are also concerned at the lack of your technology's current operators as well as a lack of demonstrated safety on the types of aircraft we operate. While we would be perfectly happy to work with you to test your technology through simulation and otherwise, we are unfortunately unable to make a firm commitment to purchasing your technology at this point, especially considering the lack of type certification in both Ceni and Electrum.

We wish you the best of luck in any further business endeavors, and we will certainly be in contact if and when we are interested in changing our fleet's engine types.

Sincerely,
Aubrey Lewis

Dear Mr. Borret,

My name is Iago Vermillion. I am the director of international routes here at Air Terranea. We are pleased to inform you that we have chosen to ACCEPT your application for services to Wedara International Airport in Wedara City, Republic of Wedara. We will be able to set up our operations within a few months as soon as we clear up all items with your necessary regulatory authorities and set up our operations at the airport itself. We look forward to serving your airport, with services from our main hubs in Centralis and Cenial as well as select other services throughout the world.

I believe this is an excellent opportunity for both our relevant parties and that it will allow both of our organizations to achieve their business goals and serve our customers well. We look forward to doing business with you and wish you the best of luck in any further business endeavors.

Sincerely,
Iago Vermillion

Dear Mr. Luppo,

My name is Iago Vermillion. I am the director of international routes here at Air Terranea. We are pleased to inform you that we have chosen to ACCEPT your application for services to Monfortinho Princess Mariana International Airport in Monfortinho, Monforte. We will be able to set up our operations within a few months as soon as we clear up all items with your necessary regulatory authorities and set up our operations at the airport itself. Although we are a bit concerned that your airport has not already made plans to allocate the requisite gates to our airline, we remain confident that this issue will be worked out in later negotiations. We look forward to serving your airport, with services from our main hubs in Centralis and Cenial as well as select destinations within Teremara and elsewhere, although considering the fact we already serve another airport in Monfortinho likely means we will not be running domestic services between the two airports.

I believe this is an excellent opportunity for both our relevant parties and that it will allow both of our organizations to achieve their business goals and serve our customers well. We look forward to doing business with you and wish you the best of luck in any further business endeavors.

Sincerely,
Iago Vermillion
