And I have no idea if the dimensions on the Nightswan are entirely right just yet, but they should give a good idea of about where it's at. Apologies for that.

Pilot Application

Name: Julia Lionhardt

Age: 19 legally, actual age unknown.

Gender: Female

Appearance

Personality: Julia is distant until she isn't - she rarely allows herself to open up to people until they've flown together and she has a fair degree of trust for them. However, to the people she does open up to she is by warm, willing to laugh and fiercely protective and can often find herself attempting to mother veteran soldiers three times her age. At the same time, this can often overspill into arrogance, aggressiveness and straight-up recklessness once her blood is pumping. At the same time she has a potentially-crippling deference to authority - irrespective of its proven quality - along with an equally-obsessive fixation of the Corps' ingrained values; both a result of her upbringing with the orphanage. Speaking of the orphanage, Julia rarely ever has emotional distance with other Julias and always seeks them out to form an unofficial support network with if at all possible. Whether this behaviour is pathalogical or something else is currently unknown, but few of her superiors have tried to stop her yet.

Backstory: There are hundreds of Julia Lionhardts on Uriel. Every female housed and raised by the military orphanages - left on their steps, picked up off the streets or a jail cell or taken from parents deemed unfit - has that name, a part of the strict uniformity imposed on them from their first day onwards. For this version of Julia, that uniformity is all she's ever known. Her sisters for as long as her memories permit were the other Julias who dressed like her, spoke like her, thought like her. Her mothers and aunts were the instructors and matrons who lived with her, taught her, disciplined her when and where they considered it necessary.

It could have been a miserable existence, but she knew nothing else. It simply was the life she had and she lived it as best she could, searching for what beauty she could in the free time between drills and exercises and lessons on the absolute authority of the Supreme Commander. She dabbled in art, taking on extra duties and lessons to scrape together the money for paints and paper. Her early attempts were nothing short of atrocious, and she improved little over time, but the end product was never the point. For a handful of moments a day, she could snatch herself a moment of genuine self-expression.

When she reached eighteen, there was no question of what she would do. She simply didn't have the mental space to question her duties as a citizen - she signed up, just as every other Julia did. However, instead of being assigned to the Army or Navy proper as her peers were, this Julia found herself being trained and augmented to pilot a mech. She didn't question this decision, of course - she was barely aware that she could question it - and she took to her training with the zeal and determination she knew was expected of a Julia.

It wasn't long before she was through with basic training and assigned to a small skirmishing fleet with a squadron of her fellows in order to give them a taste of combat before they were thrust into the frontlines. Despite lacking real combat experience Julia managed to make a name for herself over the course of a three-month campaign, racking up seven confirmed kills before the Corps was forced to withdraw by the arrival of enemy reinforcements. As one of the few highlights of the campaign, Julia's exploits were fed into the propaganda machine and she soon became a minor celebrity amongst other Julias - as a role model and a shining beacon of what they could aspire to in their duties. Even still, the failure of the campaign smarts with her as she is redeployed and she spends as much of her free time riding the simulators as she does working on her art.

Faction: RCMC

Nationality: Urian

Skills: Julia is a highly talented mech pilot, capable of reacting rapidly to changing situations and improvising solutions where necessary - though she very much lacks the wealth of experience a genuine veteran can call upon which can often lead to her acting rashly and without due caution. From her years at the orphanage, she has a detailed knowledge of small arms operation and maintenance, first aid, and basic hand-to-hand combat, and her artwork is almost tolerable to look at after years of practice.

Equipment: A small kinetic-round pistol as a holdout, her flight suit, a survival knife, various painting supplies and pieces of art and a small, unadorned metal bracelet given to each Julia when they leave their orphanage.

P-1894

Mech Application

Name: Nightswan

Weight: 65 tonnes

Height: 7.5m

Load Capacity: 3

Armour: Light, though more intended to deflect and disperse energy blasts, explosions and sensor pings than shrapnel, kinetic weaponry or melee weapons.

Loadout: Variable. Two forearm-integrated grappling hooks are built into the Nightswan's frame for manoeuvring and combat utility, as well as a pair of light machine guns for anti-missile purposes or to damage exposed systems and thrust mufflers are built into its manoeuvring jets and main drive to help hide it. Add-on equipment is generally a pair of shoulder-mounted ECM pods, a vibroblade, a light beam rifle and a wrist rotor for basic defence though different loadouts can be used for specialist missions. Finally, the Nightswan has hard points which can be affixed to missile pods or individual larger missiles, additional inert or reactive armour, more intensive stealth systems, large-bore weapons or flight boosters. However, with the exception of the flight booster, these severely compromise the suit's ability to manoeuvre, and the flight booster prevents the use of most stealth aspects and weaponry.

Appearance:

Classification: Light Attack/Interceptor

This is interesting, but I have a few questions:
Do heavier mechs require more legs/treads for support
What power sources are available for mechs
Are shields allowed? (As in energy shielding)
Are holograms a thing and how advanced are they?

Hurrah! Okay, I'll try to get a post up.

EDIT: How would you go about naming RCMC vessels? For the purposes of first-draft I've gone with SLS (Supreme Leader's Starship) Duty's Fist but I'd rather get this clarified before I bring anything up.

The emperors hand is good example, titan, star reaper. Names are up to you guys mostly. I left it open for a lot of player control. I’ll soon post up the four leaders applications under my control. Since there is over a million or some ships may only be numbers so if it’s named that has importance.

Answered in order

No, but it can be varied depending on load

Most power sources is a micro nuclear power core, but if you have one in mind please run it over with me.

Yes they are allowed, as most ships have them, but they will only really take a few shots and can be a drain on the core of a mech

Holograms exist, most times they are used like in Star Wars, to transmit a message, but they can be used in the field but they only follow a direct path and will run into walls and keep running.

I’m sorry for not replying sooner

coughs I just noticed on the IC you put "The Steal Frontier" instead of "The Steel Frontier" as the thread title.

Is it supposed to be Steel like it is in this thread or Steal like in the IC thread (and the image I just spoilered)?

Not a problem. :)

And finally done, I know the bio is a bit rough but to be honest I couldn't think of much for her.

Mech name: Salvation
Weight: 50 tons
Height: 15 meters (12 meters when all legs are deployed)
load capacity: 5
Armor: Medium
Loadout: Dual heavy sniper cannons mounted on the shoulders, long range radar and jammer mounted on the back, heavy shotgun used as a side arm for close quarters combat, designed to have one of the sniper cannons removed and replaced with a missile launcher if she so chooses. Most notable feature that is is able to change from two legged model to a four legged quadruped to act as a sniper platform and more stability.
Appearance: Painted in an off white

When in normal mode

When in 4 legged mode

Classification: Sniper

A-1743

Pilot name: Anastasia Solomon, call sign "Memory"
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Description (height, weight, hair color, etc.): A pretty close resemblance to her brother, 6'0, 120 lbs, brown eyes the rest of her appearance is pretty close to the image below.
Image (optional):
Image

Personality: She is called an 'ice princess' by most who meet her due to how blunt and callous she can be at times, she doesn't talk much and does not like to deal with more people than she has to, often viewing talking with others as not necessary, so most discussions are left to her brother. She is deeply religious and often prays while fighting. While distant with most people she has a soft spot for her brother and he is the person she talks to most.
Backstory (min. of two paragraphs): The other member of the Siberian Twins and operates as long range support to her brother. Compared to her brother she was always the more quiet and reserved of the twins and learned to hunt as a child. So while her brother piloted fighters she hunted animals in the frigid wastes of her home planet as was the way of Novo-Petersburg. To explain their homeworld it is a world of near constant winter in most areas and children have to start working at a young age to support the colony, everyone must contribute somehow, if only to support those who can't for some reason. The mech pilots abroad send most of their money home, children are co-piloting transports over the wastes or are farming the areas that can be farmed or doing something else, as long as it means supporting the settlements. Which meant that she was often alone in the wastes hunting various creatures to provide meat for the settlements. Though since she was frequently on the ground while her brother was in the sky their relationship had grown distant due to barely seeing each other.

To be honest she never had an interest in piloting, always focusing more on hunting and fishing instead anything technical. Thus it came as a shock to her when it was shown that she had extremely good aptitude for mech piloting when testing was done with her brother. And since her brother was going into the piloting program for Novo-Petersburg she decided to come along, partially because it would allow them to rebuild their relationship, she hoped anyway.

Unlike her brother she mostly cares that the AIP pays well enough since, like most mercenaries from Novo-Petersburg, she send a lot of her money back home to benefit their people.
Faction: AIP
Nationality: Russian (Novo-Petersburg)
Skills: Even outside her mech she is a talented sniper, tracker, and hunter, also is a pretty decent cook and knows how to fish.
Equipment: a handgun, a rifle, a prayer rope, winter survival gear, a picture of her and her brother

I love the way both sides now have a hit-and-run and a stand-and-fight mech. Thanos would be proud.

Equipment: a handgun, prayer rope, winter survival gear, a picture of her and her brother

P-1894

Accepted, class sniper

Pilot name: Jeremiah Higgins
Age: 27
Gender: Male

Personality: Outgoing, easily-tempered, happy-go-lucky and sometimes insubordinate to his officers.
Backstory: Jeremiah Higgins was born on the ISS Apostle James- a Institute colony-ship heading towards Epsilon Eridani to settle. His father was an Institute officer while his mother was a secretary for the Women's Society of the Institute. As a young child he was a prodigy and was able to adapt quickly. However, his bad relationship with his father led to him being quick-tempered and sometimes insubordinate to his superiors. At age fifteen, he was recruited by the Messiah Institute in their Mech program there he even excelled more as he was able to ace every test and practical examinations.

Jeremiah became a skilled pilot and became the poster boy of the Mech Programme. His first deployment was in Epsilon Eridani to deal with anti-Institute protesters; independent settlers who landed in the system first. He successfully disrupted the protest and broke it apart. Since then, Jeremiah has been deployed in many areas controlled by the Institute and with the RCMC and the AIP posing a threat to the Institute, his training gets more tense.

Faction: The Messiah Institute
Nationality: American
Skills: Piloting- he's also good at law as he's studying the law as a pastime.
Equipment:

P-1894

Also, could you add the Messiah Institute as a third major faction in the OP? Thanks!

Indeed, a multi pilot mech can and does exist, the six’s mech is piloted by multiple people. It seems your doing a pacific rim type mech
