Welcome to Riben Railworks System

Riben Railworks System or usually abbreviated as Riben Railworks is one of the well-known companies in Riluon that focuses on the railroad industry. Riben Railworks provides a variety of signalling systems, station equipment, railway technology, rolling stocks to railway network construction services for transportation progress in your country. We have been established for 44 years since November 5, 1975. Started with producing rolling stocks for railroad operators in Riluon then continuing with developing new signal systems and complex railroad network development services. Arguably we are quite experienced in the railway industry and will continue to grow following the needs of people in this era of globalization.

We have headquarters in Nagoya, Aichi Canton. We also operate a train manufacturing plant in Nagoya and Niigata. In one factory it can produce ± 5 train cars in one week, so for a month the factory that we operate can produce around ± 20 cars. Riben Railworks has the number of office employees as many as 650 people and the number of factory employees as many as 987 people so that our total employees amount to 1637 people. On average our employees are the best university graduates in Riluon so we can be sure the rolling stocks that we design and produce has good quality. Riben Railworks is managed by several important positions including:

  • Company Director — Mr Takuya Tadamori
  • Company Secretary — Mr Hiroshita Furui
  • Financial Officer — Mr Kitomo Ruishi
  • Production Officer — Mr Keihan Sinokawa
  • Human Resources Officer — Mr Zenji Kuroda
  • Technology Development Officer — Mr Yamato Kinoshita
  • Project Development Officer Mr Shigetsu Ujitaro
  • Public Relations Officer — Ms Meiwa Shimeizu

Railway transportation in Riluon is increasingly becoming the main focus of the development of safe and fast mass transportation after various incidents in air transportation have made it less trusted by the community as one of the safest mass transportation in the country. Seeing this situation, we began to conduct research and design of our first bullet train which was finally introduced on 17 March 1992 under name X001 Series. The X001 bullet train successfully serving the Odakyo - Osaka route by Riluon Railways with a distance of 515 km and a top speed of 200 km/h for 10 years from 1993 to 2003.

The success of the first bullet train operation was a morale boost for other local railway industries to develop similar trains in the future. we also do not want to lose in competition with other companies. As the pioneer of the first bullet train in Riluon, we will continue to strive to be the best in providing safe and fast rail transportation facilities so as to make it easier for humans to travel between regions in a short time.

Railway signalling is a system used to direct railway traffic and keep trains clear of each other at all times. Trains move on fixed rails, making them uniquely susceptible to the collision. This susceptibility is exacerbated by the enormous weight and inertia of a train, which makes it difficult to quickly stop when encountering an obstacle.

We offer railway operators around the world a variety of signalling systems. There are three railway signalling systems that we will describe one by one.

Full Mechanical Signalling
Construction Cost: ¥90,000,000/km

Image

Older forms of the signal displayed their different aspects by their physical position. The earliest types comprised a board that was either turned face-on and fully visible to the driver or rotated so as to be practically invisible. By far the most common form of mechanical signal worldwide is the semaphore signal. This comprises a pivoted arm or blade that can be inclined at different angles. A horizontal arm is the most restrictive indication (for 'danger', 'caution', 'stop and proceed' or 'stop and stay' depending on the type of signal). To enable trains to run at night, one or more lights are usually provided at each signal. Typically this comprises a permanently lit oil lamp with movable coloured spectacles in front that alter the colour of the light. The driver, therefore, had to learn one set of indications for daytime viewing and another for nighttime viewing. Mechanical signals are usually remotely operated by wire from a lever in a signal box, but the electrical or hydraulic operation is normally used for signals that are located too distant for manual operation.

We usually install mechanical signals on regional railway networks with types of trains such as freight trains or diesel passenger trains with non-congested traffic.

Image

Full Colour Light Signalling
Construction Cost: ¥280,000,000/km

Image

On most modern railways, colour light signals have largely replaced mechanical ones. Colour light signals have the advantage of displaying the same aspects by night as by day and require less maintenance than mechanical signals. A typical system of aspects would be:
Green: Proceed at line speed. Expect to find the next signal displaying green or yellow, Yellow: Prepare to find the next signal displaying red, Red: Stop. On some railways, colour light signals display the same set of aspects as shown by the lights on mechanical signals during darkness. We usually install colour light signals on high-speed train routes or on routes that have heavy traffic. we have integrated this signal with the monitor screen in the cabin so that it can help the train driver to find out the signal clearly. Besides that security sensors are also added to anticipate earthquakes, so that when an earthquake occurs the sensor will automatically send a warning to the train driver that the train speed will be stopped directly without control from the cabin.

Image

Mixed Signalling
Construction Cost: ¥350,000,000/km

Mixed signalling is used together for train routes with heavy and less congested traffic. This signalling system is an alternative that we offer to railway operators with a signal operating system similar to a fully mechanical system and full-colour lights.

Image
Image

Escalator
Construction Cost: ¥17,000,000

An escalator is a type of vertical transportation in the form of a moving staircase which carries people between floors of a building. It consists of a motor-driven chain of individually linked steps on a track which cycle on a pair of tracks which keep them horizontal. Escalators have the capacity to move large numbers of people. They can be placed in the same physical space as a staircase. They have no waiting interval (except during very heavy traffic). They can be used to guide people toward main exits or special exhibits. They may be weatherproofed for outdoor use. A nonfunctional escalator can function as a normal staircase, whereas many other methods of transport become useless when they break down or lose power.

Elevator
Construction Cost: ¥41,000,000

An elevator is a type of vertical transportation that moves people or goods between floors (levels, decks) of a building, vessel, or other structure. Elevators are typically powered by electric motors that either drive traction cables and counterweight systems like a hoist or pump hydraulic fluid to raise a cylindrical piston like a jack. Statistically speaking, cable-borne elevators are extremely safe. Their safety record is unsurpassed by any other vehicle system.

Ticket Machine
Construction Cost: ¥59,000,000

A ticket machine is a vending machine that produces tickets. For instance, ticket machines dispense train tickets at railway stations, transit tickets at metro stations and tram tickets at some tram stops and in some trams. The typical transaction consists of a user using the display interface to select the type and quantity of tickets and then choosing a payment method of either cash, credit/debit card or smartcard. The ticket(s) are then printed and dispensed to the user.

Building a railway network is arguably not cheap and fast, it requires spending a lot of costs and a long process. But we, Riben Railworks offer solutions and assistance for train operators who are interested in building their railway network again to develop their business. We are willing to become contractors in the railway network development project with various systems that we have developed. Each railway operator that works with us in the project will be given choices regarding signalling systems, spatial layout and design, network type (underground, elevated or above ground) and track gauge size. If you are interested, you can fill out the application form for the railway network development project collaboration on the form provided by us.

Order Rollingstocks
Please be rational when ordering our rolling stock. orders that look strange, for example, "orders exceeding 25 trains will be rejected because they appear irrational. However, train operators will make efficiency in the use of their train fleets in order to gain large profits.
