"All I can say is that progress has been made between the diplomats of the two countries" said Su Rongyu during a press conference. "Talks with Beijing on de-escalating tensions in the South China Sea are going well, the main priority is maintaining regional stability and security". Regarding the high-level of alertness for Zhouranese troops in the region, Su Rongyu stated they "will remain on high-alert" and that the large presence of Zhouranese warships in the South China Sea "is absolute necessary for peace and stability in the region". "We told our Chinese counterparts we have no intentions of containing them, we do not have a containment policy, all we want is a peaceful solution to the territorial disputes in what is essentially one of the world's busiest shipping lanes" he added. The Chairman of the PDC has also told the press that "Zhouran will continue to promote multilateral dialogue between parties in the South China Sea" and that "diplomacy is the key to maintaining peace in the region". It is unknown what promises both nations will make following the talks, but many researchers say both countries might make some sort of compromise regarding presence of troops from both sides in the South China Sea.
