Illustrantia
Illustrantia is the capital city of Mediama. Located at the end of the La Forge river not too far from La Fontaine, a major trading city, it has seen its share of prosperity with eastward trade. The city itself is home to several rustic French architecture clashing with British Victorian homes. Since revitalization in the 1930's, art deco and more contemporary styles of architecture have popped up around the city. With a population topping off at around 1 million, the Mediaman Royal Constabulary, though stretched, has been able to pacify local criminal elements with assistance of urban programs to help the less fortunate. In conjunction with MI-5 and the Mediaman Royal Army and Navy, ample security has been made for both the royal family, and for key political figures residing in the area. With a rich blend of both French and British culture, aptly seen in its cafes, its theatres, and its museums, there is little time, and ample options to take while in the capital city.
New Williamsburg
New Williamsburg was formed by British Loyalists who escaped to Mediama after the American War of Independence. Housing around 800,000 people, it is the largest city in the Province of St. George and is also the Provincial Capital. A city in the middle of farmland, the surrounding suburbs have more cleaner air than Illustrantia's city limits. Connected by four rivers, but located on flat land, the city is known to have floods in spring. The city has seen occasional growth, but stagnated in the inter war period. Post World War II saw a housing boom matching that to the United States. Currently it has seen a boom in business for cooperate start up companies. Perfect for ambassadors who are more inclined to a mix of urban and rural life. However, it is quite a distance away from the nation's capital, though easily connected through highways.
New London
Large and vibrant, two words describing the largest city in Mediama, with a population clocking in at around 2,000,000 people. Sitting at the shore of the Great Lakes, New London is home to massive immigration throughout the decades, and thus, city culture has thrived, with many options in cuisine to choose from. Arts from different countries is showcased in its museums, its theatres, and its cafes. New London is also home of the famous New London Cosmic Needle, the tallest free standing building in the Americas, and is considered one of the Seven Great Wonders of the world. It's the provincial capital of New Albion, and was a candidate for the nation's capital, right next to La Fontaine, both lost to Illustrantia due to its natural location as the center.
Charlotte
The Provincial Capital of Victoria Island, home of famous author Julianne Bennett, writer of the Rise to Womanhood series of books, detailing a young orphan's growth to womanhood. It's no wonder that the surrounding island is a Mecca for writers, quite, and seemingly desolate, yet close enough to the mainland. The city is home to 36,000 people, the most sparsely populated option for an embassy. Historic sites and the Historical downtown area are the main attractions, while fishing and boating are also available, it is equally surrounded by agriculture as New Williamsburg.
Aside from New London, Illustrantia, and New Williamsburg, there are additional locations available as locations for consulates.
La Fontaine
Located within the crossroads of rivers going in three directions, La Fontaine has been the center for trade between Mediama, and The United States. Though its wealth has been surpassed by New London since the 1970's, La Fontaine remains a key trading city for bringing materials in, and shipping products out to either deeper into Mediama, or down south to the United States to be shipped globally. With a population of over a million, it is the most populous city in the Province of Milieu, though its Provisional capital is Beaumont. It has been the host of several expositions, expressing new ideas and new technologies to North America, and to some extent, the world.
Redford and Blueford
Redford
Blueford
Redford is one of the many major trading cities inland. Known for its rail and trucking. With over 900,000 people, it is the Provincial Capital of Centurial. The city has a large industrial base along with rail in automotive manufacturing, and steel manufacturing. The city is also well known for its feud with its sister city, Blueford, only a literal highway south from Redford. Both cities initially started out a cities set up by friends turned rivals Redmond and Blueman who competed for the mining of coal and eventually oil in the area. There have been talks of producing green energy plants in both cities to provide efficient power in the area, and many smaller business have moved to the area to avoid staggering taxes in the cities.
Anastasia
Named in honor of the Russian Imperial Grand Duchess Anastasia Romanov, it is known as a resort city with steep, snowy mountain slopes, some comparable to the alps. As such in addition to the 631,000 people living in the city, many skiers and daring winter sportsmen travel here each year to conquer the slopes, or die trying. It is close to the island city of Nelson, Provincial Capital to Boreal. And with lakeside views and fishing, and surreal views, it is one of the most desired places to both film and travel. There are also museums, tours, and various historical and tourist attractions to keep the non suicidal entertained.
Brendan
A key fishing port on Victoria Island. The town is known for its fishing industry and shipping industry. In addition it is also well known for the Brendan Explosion of 1917, when two cargo ships collided and sparked the largest explosion known to man up until the introduction of nuclear weapons. Recently it has become a hotspot for marine scientists studying the affects of climate change. In addition, several environmental engineers have developed plans to produce a wind farm off of Victoria's coast, and intend for it to at least power the entire province, and at most, power the north eastern seaboard. Aside from advancement however, it is also known for its nautical themed museums, hotels and other attractions such as boating. The Mediaman Navy also posts part of its Atlantic fleet in Brendan to keep an eye on Iceland since the Cod Wars.
