Does your nation have an extreme religious divide?

Postby Bluelight-R006 » Fri Jan 18, 2019 9:20 am

I was bored so I decided to create this:

The world is filled with both religious and atheists fighting each other on beliefs. Does your nation have a hateful divide where religion/atheism is considered harsh? Or just a peaceful but extreme divide where both sides are respected?

In Lightia, both atheism and religiousness are respected by both sides on each other. There are no fights against each other on beliefs.

In Kuroji-san, all forms of religion have been banned apart from Buddhism and Atheism. There is usually no religious divide, but it's almost always the Atheists that fight religion, as the Buddhists usually accept the Atheists as they are.

About 70% of the population is a part of a restorationist Christian group similar to the Jehovah's Witnesses IRL.
Those who are not members of this group tend to reside in the western cities of the country, where international trade is more important to the local economy. If they were to move further inland, they should not be expected to be treated with any more kindness than professional toleration.

While religious worship is not strictly required, almost 99% of the citizens of Russia Major follow our state religion, Neo-Slavism. The rest are various minor immigrant religious groups and atheists. There are occasional minor conflicts between extremist fundamentalists and infidels, but these are dealt with as a matter of state security by the inquisitors. We seek to protect all religious and non-religious groups.

Yes. Any Decepticon who refuses to at least officially adhere to Megatronism is guilty of heresy and is subject to meltdown. Those who tried to openly be "free thinkers" or any other such thing have already been deleted.

That said, it is believed that there are many crypto-atheists and Machinists still around. They're just smart enough to know to keep their voice chips off about it.

No, we don't need many religions within our society.
We don't need to create some religious multiculturism experiment.
We leave this stuff for the people who don't like religious and national unity, and rather want religious multicultural set of beliefs.
In our realm, we reject other philoshopies and prefer spiritual unity.
Countries like Pakistan are 100% muslim, so why can't we be 100% christian?.
We have our own realm of truth, for too many have forsaken Christianity.
We reject atheism and secularism, and prefer family values and radical traditionalism.

There is no religious divide in the People's Republic of Zhouran, which is officially a secular nation. Currently around 34% of the population are adherents to the indigenous religion called the Spiritual Mandate, 31% are members of the Zhouranese Orthodox Church, 28% are non-religious, and 7% are adherents to other religions.

The Spiritual Mandate, which is the indigenous religion of the Kangyuli people, is the dominant religion in Zhouran. Characterized by features of shamanism, animism, totemism, polytheism and ancestor worship, and being one of the oldest active religions in the world, the Spiritual Mandate was created somewhere in 3,270 BC. The Spiritual Mandate is considered to be the third largest folk religion in the world after China's various folk religions combined and Japan's Shinto.

The Zhouranese Orthodox Christianity is the only foreign religion in the country to have large numbers of adherents while other foreign religions do not have much following. The Zhouranese Orthodox Church is an autocephalous Eastern Orthodox church that was created on June 22, 1871. Granted autocephaly by the Russian Orthodox Church on August 15, 1878, it was established following the arrival of Russian Orthodox missionaries in late 1870. The ZOC is the largest Christian church in Zhouran, as well the second largest Eastern Orthodox Church in the world after the Russian Orthodox Church. Among Christian Churches worldwide, the Zhouranese Orthodox Church is third only to the Roman Catholic Church and Russian Orthodox Church in terms of numbers of followers. The Zhouranese Orthodox Church is ranked as the sixth junior patriarchal church within the Eastern Orthodox hierarchy.

While Apostolic Catholicism is the predominant faith of most Luziycans, even if religiosity has declined as of late, there isn't a huge religious divide.

There are some tensions though, especially with Islam and Scientology, but legally, everyone has the right to practice their own religion.

Religion in our land is....new, In our history, we know that nothing can be all powerful, and everything dies. It isnt depressing, its just a way of life. But under colonial rule, there is a diverse forms of religion on the coasts. Though all institutions of religion is not allowed to be of public use and must be paid for by the people who wish to set it up, etc.

There is a significant religious divide within Kyneland. Heathens and Christians have been in a metaphorical tug of war over political-religious influence and power. Christians were favoured by our occupiers throughout foreign occupation and subjugation. They often held the highest offices and constantly attempted to convert the Kynish people.

However, things have reversed since independence. Christians are now disfavoured by the state, people and government. Christianity has been in decline for decades now, and the country’s native ethnoreligion has only grown stronger with the decline of Christendom.

Violence and unlawful actions have occurred between the two groups, including riots. The Christians usually get the short end of the stick, as the majority of police are heathens and side with the Heathens. The laws of the land also disadvantages other groups, such as Muslims and Jews.

The Empire is split between a myriad of religions along the same lines it is split along a myriad of ethnic and national lines. The primary polarization is split between the Temples of Luciellanism, a polytheist system of beliefs centered around a pantheon of around two dozen gods, godlike beings, heroes and other divine figures and the Temple of Astraea, a monotheistic religion venerating a singular creator-god that has been steadily eroding the former for over two centuries.

Sectarian violence between the two factions is incredibly common, the tension between the religious denominations have caused open wars and strife for more than three centuries at this point. The commonality of religious armed gangs has caused a paranoia among the Imperial Militia (police forces), forcing officers to adapt to rising sectarian crime by outfitting in full kit at all times, it is awkward to say the least.

As the average Imperial is intensely religious, blood is spilled in the streets sadly often.

No Thermodolia doesn’t have an extreme religious divide. Mainly because 31% of the population are members of the Thermodolian Christian Church with the next largest religious group only having 8% of the population. Also a plurality of Thermodolians are Christian with 45% having no religion and 6% following a non-Christian religion. Of that 6% only 2% are followers of non-Abrahamic religions.

Sectarian violence in Thermodolia is low. Partly due to the secularization laws and anti-segregation laws that are currently in force. (In Thermodolia it’s illegal for communities of one group to form)

There are many different religions in Seanesia, but Islam and Christianity being the largest, and there's also small minorities of local religions (animism). For the main part , most religions are able to co-exist peacefully with one another, due to anti-segregation, anti-discrimination law being enforced. Sects and denominations are allowed, but hateful, nationalistic or dangerous religious practices are of course banned, those who're indicated are sent to rehabilitation center. But otherwise people are free to practice and free to change their religion however they want, and free from oppression by other religious group.
