Emishin Electoral Commission holding elections in 2019 to elect members of the National Diet. This election uses a party-list proportional representation system to elect 445 members and foreign votes to elect other 20 members with the most votes which will get the majority of parliamentary seats representing their respective prefectures. After parliamentary elections have been completed, the new prime minister and government cabinet can be elected immediately.
