It would make sense, since Cregan is not the Lord himself either. But I would principally RP through the perspective of his son who is also a knight.

But if it’s your fathers men, then they owe allegiance to the father

Who owes allegiance to me

Plus I already have the karstarks st winterfell so you’d be starting the rp within Rickard host

Balerion

I assume Rheagar would be using a different banner than the traditional Targaryen colors correct?

I like the idea of going with white (from the Rheagar post mentioning white dragons)

If Rheagar wants to present himself as the legitimate Targaryen ruler it might be unwise for him to use an alternate banner. It makes him seem like a sideshow, rather than a part of the bloodline that possesses a claim to the Iron Throne.

The Targaryens have done it in every civil war

It’s more of a practical thing than a political thing, it helps stop confusion on the battlefield

If both sides were to use the same colors the it would be chaos

Exactly, even during the Dance of the Dragons same logic was applied more or less - confusion in battle over such an idiotic reason is borderline suicidal for either side.

Dorne can call maybe 25,000 men if fully mobilized, and one House having 3,500 of that would be surprising, unless its maybe House Dayne or Yronwood.

Yeah I totally guessed, whatever you think is better I'm happy with.

I think I had a misunderstand :/

25,000 for ALL of DORNE or 25,000 for JUST House Martell's personal levies, not including their bannermen's levies?

CHARACTER APPLICATION
Name: Brandon
House: Karstark
Age: 20
Gender: M
Titles: Ser
House Seat: Karhold
Allegiance paid to: Karstark
Appearance:
Image

Personality: Although a open-minded and kind-hearted man to his immediate family and friends. He keeps a public image of a stoic, reliable, solid and serious person. He has no illusions for his place at House Karstark, perceptive as he may be; preferring humbly serve his house but would take charge if need be(although hoping such not be the case). His only ambition is to prove himself as a battlefield commander(or maybe one day join the Golden Company) but alas he is young and untested.
Skills: A mediocre warrior, he has extensive knowledge and theories of both rulership and the field of battle but both are untested.
Weaponry:Brandon's warhammer, long dagger
Biography:
Brandon is son of Cregan Karstark; cousin to Lord Rickard Karstark. Born to the non-ruling branch of the family made in young age for Brandon to realize his position to the world and especially in the "nobility" for he was still lucky born to a prestigious house.

At the age of 7 he was fostered to house Whitehill(unfortunately he couldn't become page for a Vale house or even the Manderlys) as Ludd Whitehill's squire. Near the Wolfswood he acquired the habit venturing into the thinly populated forest for weeks even, living with crofters and woodsmen learning important survival skills.

Near 16 years of age, he was knighted but much of his life was uneventful. There were moments he contemplated joining the mercenary companies in Essos(and still does) since he knows that his life would be tied in servitude to House Karstark. Lord Rickard had ordered him reading important ruling literature; emphasizing for the fact than one day he will serve as Castellan to his own sons and they would need a reliable and above all else perspective man.

Lord Rickard has given command of the Karhold host to his father Cregan, whilst he and Cregan's brother: Arthor would gather more men as reinforcements for house Stark and prepare the smallfolk accordingly for harvest due to its urgency(with the lack of men and wrong time).
RP Example: I haven't RPed in a few years, restarting in NSNotes: Only ancillaries claiming would be: Cregan Karstark and Lord Rickard Karstark(unless someone asks permission)

EXISTING HOUSE APPLICATION
Image
House Karstark

Allegiance Paid to: Stark
Approx Number of military at command: ~2,000(300 horses, 140 archers, 400 spearmen, two dozen knights, 100 pikemen and the rest are mere footmen)
History of the House:
A cadet branch of House Stark: they are principal bannermen of the Lords of Winterfell for almost 700 years. They have represented the North at behest of their lords during the War of Ninepenny Kings where Lord Rickard lost his father at young age and witnessed the war first hand.

Over the recent years nothing of real note has occurred unto their lands except wilding raids becoming increasingly common as cooperation with House Umber has intensified out of necessity. There is still the issue the land being sparsely populated as forests have reclaimed even villages formerly inhabitated despite the House's best efforts trying to attract more people or at least let the current remain. This can be attested to the reduced numbers the house can muster, forcing Lord Rickard to remain a little longer to acquire reinforcements as part of the second wave.

If Rhaegar wants to use a personal sigil, I think something similar to Valarr's would be appropriate.

EXISTING HOUSE APPLICATION
House Name: House Hightower
House Sigil:
Image

House Words: We Light The Way
Allegiance Paid to: House Tyrell of Highgarden
Approx Number of military at command: 17,000 (3000 Heavy Horse, 2000 Light Horse, 8000 Levy Infantry, 3000 Men-at-arms, 2000 Levy Archers)
15 Warships (13 War Galleys, 2 Dromonds), 300 Merchant ships
History of the House (At least two well written paragraphs please): House Hightower has a long and proud history. Kings before the Andals arrived, they were also the last King to fall under the sway of the Gardeners. Ruling over a swathe of land which is largely disconnected with the rest of the reach, beyond the foothills of House Tarly and not falling into the waterways of the Mander, Oldtown and the High Tower have a similar but different identity in comparison to the rest of the Reach. Their focus is seaward. So long as House Gardener was to the north, House Hightower could look south. However, times change and when the Gardener Kings died and the Dragon came to Oldtown, the Hightowers, who had not yet sent men to fight at the behest of the High Septon, bent the knee and opened the gates of Oldtown to Aegon. Here he was crowned by the High Septon. The Hightowers even can claim that the current Targaryen line is partially related to them as they had married daughters to Kings and Princes of House Targaryen several times.

More present times however, the Lord of the High Tower, Leyton Hightower, has lived for some time. News that Aerys has called all loyal houses to his cause to kill his son Rhaegar caught the man by surprise. News that Princess Elia Martell and the children Rhaenys and Aegon were murdered on his orders didn't sit well with Leyton. He may be growing in age, but it wasn't too long ago that he was riding in tourneys himself. He was unsure as to what his own liege lord would do, but regardless of what the Reach did, the High Tower and Oldtown would have a choice to make for themselves.

I'll add the other house and some characters tomorrow morning.

Good, I'm just musing on what sort of post to make next. I'm going to wait on Val to post something with Jon before bringing Robert back into play so it's just what I am going to do about Stannis, probably some sort of discussion on Rhaegar and Aerys between him and Cressen.
