In what will be a major clash between BVC for the World Hit Festival (which the nation is hosting) and BITC for the WorldVision Song Contest, the word on the street is that BITC will extend their time away from the contest for an extra edition to return to the 71st edition, Britonisea's 40th anniversary.

This has not been confirmed by BITC yet.

The lines of the Landa vy Polkopiya have officially closed to the public and it's time for the nation to decide who will earn the right to represent Polkopia at the 70th Worldvision Song Contest! Ten acts competed in this year's Landa vy Polkopiya but only one will get the chance to perform at Worldvision and it's time to find out just who earned that right. Out of the five songs to have competed in the Grand Final, fifth place goes to... Xavier Fyodorivich and Katya Klein with their song, Easy Money.

In fourth place... These Scars Will Never Heal! Viktoria Venora, the Wildcard entry, will not be representing Polkopia at the upcoming Worldvision!

Third place goes to... Oxana Babić and her beautiful song, Grab Me. That means that one of the next two songs will be Polkopia's next entry to Worldvision!

Second place, and falling just short of earning that right is... Mannequins, by Kostya Bronn.

Which means that for the second time, Polkopia will be represented by the all-female group, MJM! They will be singing the song, Spotlight, and will be seeking to earn their nation their first win in 20 editions!

We have recently been informed by reliable sources that the Council of the Elders of the Republic is considered "out of touch" with the Nation's fine youth. The Ducal Council has tasked itself with rectifying this unfortunate state of affairs. We therefore do hereby deign and decree that We, the Senators and Nobles of New Melvonia, will henceforth take an interest in popular culture. We have decided, awaiting of course Your Eminences' gracious permission, to enter New Melvonia into the contest.
We do not yet know how we will select our song. We will probably have a hashtag on MySpace or something contemporary like that. We hereby promise to find the most lit melody by the most woke bae in Melvonia, YOLO fam. Foreign Ministry Department of International Cultural Exchange be tripping over these sicc beats.

Hmph. I find it weird that we allow IC posts on an OOC thread. And yes, I know this tradition has been going on since time immemorial, but wouldn't it seem less cluttery if we had like a Pre-IC IC thread..?

In the past (at least when I debuted almost 50 editions ago) this thread was known as the "Signups and National Finals" thread.

As it is today to be honest this thread doesn't fill up as much as OOC threads in the past used to either, so I feel like it would be better to just make use of this for all WV-related content that doesn't occur in the show itself. I'd imagine if we had a pre-IC thread, both this and that would just have like, 2-3 pages each.

It could be something to consider if we had more activity here but I don't see it to be feasible as it is now. Sorry :/ but thanks for suggesting!

Due to financial issues within the Llaltese Broadcasting Network, we are sadly unable to participate in the upcoming WorldVision 70, hosted in Talvezout. Hopefully, once we are able to get back on track, we will be able to participate once again in the near future. Good luck to all the participating nations performing in the show!

Sorry about the lateness!

1. The wifi wasn't working at the hotel when I arrived in Hong Kong so I wasn't able to post my entry that I finished on the flight over T_T

2. Was visiting the PRC over the last few days so I opted not to log into things

Anyway, a huge congrats to Nekoni for finally winning! Love seeing new faces on the throne!
