I'd take it. 2 million is enough to never have to work again, and that poses a much higher risk to health than a month of smoking. And i'm perfectly capable of finding plenty of vices to distract myself while I quit.

While 2 million dollars is a hell of a lot of money, you're really overestimating how much that is.

Two Million is more than enough to get by if you don't blow it all on garbage. Investing in stocks with two million dollars given to you basically for free means that you're not losing money as that two million was never really "yours" in the first place. Someone just gave it to you

I'm already abusing more mild substances like caffeine and sugar, so I'm pretty sure I'd abuse nicotine and go from 1 cig per day to a pack within months. Which is bad news for someone with family history of cancer.

Moreover, accepting the challenge would mean pouring more money into the pockets of tobacco companies, which is a no-no for me.

Cancer is the least cigarettes can do on your body. The chemicals released from combustion affect every single system. If you are lucky, you may have a heart attack or a stroke and die on the spot. Otherwise, you could get some chronic disease like macular degeneration. In any case, you will age horribly and get all age-related crap much sooner, such as no stamina, hypertension, high blood sugar and high LDL cholesterol. Eventually, you'll have to transition from a pack of sigs a day to a pack of meds a day.

The point of having money is to have a good quality of life. It's idiotic to accept money to lower your quality of life.

I switched from smoking to vaping about 5 years ago and I haven't smoked any tobacco since then. I think I could pretty easily do one cigarette a day for a month and go back to vaping afterward. I would just take some precautions, for example I would smoke the daily cigarette at different times and places every day so it doesn't become a ritual and I'd smoke a brand that I hate the taste of (like Salems, ewwww) so that I don't enjoy it.
