Arthropol Airlines are always looking for potential employees to hire. Due to this, this letter has been released regarding potential applicants for Arthropol Airlines jobs. First off, there are three main types of Arthropol Airlines jobs. The first of these types are the flight crew. These are the people who fly our planes to different countries and cities across the world. The second of these types are the cabin crew. These are the people who attend to passengers, ranging from first-class attendants to economy class attendants. The third of these types are the ground crew. The most diverse of the types, the ground crew fufill a variety of functions, from the person at the check-in counter, to a chef at the lounge, to a maintenance engineer, or to an office worker responsible for fleet management. However, due to a high demand for jobs at the world's best airline, only the best of the best will be accepted. Listed below are a short description of each job category, and the job application forms. Good luck!

Requirements

Jonathan hurriedly rushed outside his house as he saw the postman depart out of his window. Although it had only been three days since he handed in his job application to Arthropol Airlines, it had felt like a year waiting for the application to arrive. He ran outside and took the letter from his mailbox. He was delighted to see that the letter had the Arthropol Airlines logo in the corner, with multiple European stamps in the other corner. He went back inside, sat down, and ripped open. He excitedly began reading, with multiple words catching his sight ... accepted... initial test phase... 9:00 22 January... Arthropol City... Arthropol Airlines Training Centre... Tickets enclosed.... At the bottom of the letter was the signature of the CEO.

Today was the big day - the day of the interview. Jonathan pushed the door open, letting out a blast of warm air against the cold air of the outside. He was dressed like any other day, dressing up was unnecessary as for most of the tests, he would be using an Arthropol Airlines uniform. An woman holding a clipboard asked him, "Are you Jonathan Campos-Elivier?" to which he replied that he was. After presenting his passport, the woman told him to follow. He was lead into a small changeroom, where a brand-new Arthropol Airlines uniform was hanging off a hangar. It was the standard uniform for male cabin crew: a black suit jacket with a white formal shirt, black tie, and blacktrousers and shoes. He dressed in it, and walked out the into another room, where other male candidates were waiting. A man said, "Welcome to Arthropol City, everyone. My name is Jacques, and I will be your guide today. Feel welcome to ask me any questions. Now, before your interviews, you'll need to do a few physical tests first. Please follow me."

Jonathan followed the others, to a room with what looked like an aeroplane fuselage lots of grass. Jacques lead to a wall, with large marks at 10 centimetre increments, and smaller marks at 1 centimetre increments. There was a large red handle at 210 cm. All Jonathan had to do was to pull down the handle, which he completed easily. Next, they were lead inside the fuselage. Inside were rows of standard economy seating, with an already deployed emergency exit. Jacques picked up a bag which looked like a standard carry-on bag. He said to everyone, "This bag weighs 15 kilograms. I just need everyone to pick one up from a seat and put it in the compartment above." Jonathan also completed this task with ease. The next task was a bit harder. They was instructed to look out the window. There was a tall red marker, 100 metres away, and they had to be able to run there in full uniform, in under two minutes. As his timer started, he slid out of the mock fuselage on the slide, and ran towards the marker. There was a variety of terrain, with rocks, fake snow, wet rocks, mud and grass. He reached the marker, and passed the test. After this, they was allowed a cup of water each, which Jonathan drank before moving on to the next room.

The next room was the final physical test. There was a large Olympic-sized pool, with lane ropes running down. The candidates were instructed to swim 25 metres in uniform, then stay afloat for 5 minutes. He jumped in, swam to halfway, and then kept himself afloat for the timer length. After this, he was given a life jacket, and instructed to swim 100 metres. After also completing the swim, he was given a towel and a change of clothes. It was time for lunch.

Lunch was in the food court in the building. Jonathan sat at a table with a few of the other men he had befriended, and at other tables were other trainees and staff. It was a self-serve affair, where Jonathan could choose what to put on his tray. After a filling, nutritious lunch, it was time for the most important part of the day; the interview.

An interviewer lead Jonathan to a small office, where they would be completing the interview. She asked Jonathan various different questions about his work, life, and experiences, and what he has to offer to the company. The questions alternated in French and English to test Jonathan's proficiency, and at the end, Jonathan felt confident. Before a small final exam, there was one last activity. Now, all the candidates were together, including both the males and females.

To test the candidates' teamwork skills, the candidates were grouped up, and had to complete a teamwork puzzle, which could only be solved by co-operating with the others in the team. By the end of the activity, their brains were all warmed up, ready for the exam.

The exam had six sections: French (30 minutes), English (30 minutes), Mathematics (30 minutes) and General knowledge (30 minutes). Jonathan completed the French and English exams with ease, both contained mostly vocabulary questions and a single prompt to write a paragraph. The methematics tests were a bit harder, with algebraic equations, and general arithmetic skills. But the general knowledge was the hardest them all, it included identifying airlines and aircraft, answering different questions asked by passengers, and recalling some miscellaneous airline facts.

After examinations, the candidates changed back into their original clothing, and were put in a room. At the front were snacks and drinks, and were told they could socialise before results were given, in about an hour. Jonathan talked with two friends he had made, Sébastien, a 22-year-old Congolese-Arthropolian man who worked at a restaurant, and Karl, a 20-year-old German man, who worked at his father's shop. He also talked to a woman who had caught his eye, Camille, a 20-year-old Arthropolian woman who worked at a hotel. (OOC: Potential characters for future RP involving Jonathan!!)

Suddenly, a man announced that they would be giving results out. Each candidate's name was called out, and given a letter that indicated if they had been accepted or rejected. Jonathan was pleased to find out that he had been hired: He was now a junior cabin crew member, with a salary of €62 000 per year. He was even more delighted to find out all three of his new friends had been hired. He just had to know one date: 25 February. The day his training started. Before then, he would need a valid work visa, and a lease on property in Arthropol City. But now, why worry? He had three more days to explore Arthropol City, his new home for the coming years.

Shana sat on the chair reading a book as he finished his midday meal. As he finished the meal, he cleaned up the dishes, and walked over to his door, where a pile of letters had just been delivered to him. He picked up the letters and looked at the senders. One from a friend, two from the government, and one from Arthropol Airlines. He returned to his chair, as he opened the Arthropol Airlines letter with a knife. Inside, was a piece of neat, folded paper. He read the letter, but was disappointed to see inside ...decided to reject your Arthropol Airlines, due to existing health conditions... ...We may reconsider your application if needed... He sighed as he folded the letter back up and placed it to the side, and picked up the next letter.

It was a nice day in New York City, with clear skies and mild weather. Martin Costa drove through the streets of Brooklyn towards his house, as he returned from a frustrating day at work. He cursed in frustration, as he was cut off by another car on the Belt Parkway. After finding his house, and parking, he checked the mailbox, and found the usual advertisments, newspapers, and tax letters. But at the bottom, there was one unusual letter in the bottom. It was slightly damaged and bent, and had his address, multiple stamps, as well as the Arthropol Airlines logo on the front. He turned it over, and on the back, the return address said:

ARTHROPOL

He figured that it must be the response letter from Arthropol Airlines regarding his job application, just submitted a few days ago. He went inside the house, where his wife was already home, preparing the evening meal. He sat down at the table, and opened the letter. After reading through the letter, he was pleased to see that he had been invited for an interview. The letter said, "If successful in your interview, you will become the Deputy Northeast American Director of Ground Services, with promotion to the Northeast American Director of Ground Services upon retirement of the current director. The job encompasses ground services in the Canadian provinces east of and including Ontario (where applicable), as well as the American states east of and including the line formed by the states of Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, and Louisiana. The head offices for this position are in New York City, and Montréal, and if accepted, your starting salary will be 250 000,00 EUR (OOC: as of 30.03.19) (280 788,25 USD/375 064,00 CAD) per annum. As part of the job, you will be regularly required to travel to Arthropol City for reports if necessary, and you will recieve all employee benefits as regulated by Arthropolian law and company guidelines. Enclosed are your tickets for your interview in Arthropol City on 15 April, with return Business-class tickets departing from on 14 and 17 April."

He closed the letter, and said to his wife, "I'm going to Arthropol."

The golf cart took Martin and his luggage to the gate from the lounge, as the priority boarding for his flight was announced. He thanked the driver as he stepped off. He could see the enormous Airbus A380 through the windows of the airport. He scanned his boarding pass and passport, and stepped on, as a flight attendant guided him to his seat in the Business cabin. The suites were fitted with doors for privacy. Soon after take-off, he chose to have his dinner, with the cabin crew serving up an excellent meal. He slept comfortably in the suite, and woke up just before they started descending into Arthropol. He could see the glorious sunrise from the window as he ate his breakfast, and they touched down smoothly on the long runways of Arthropol City International Airport.

After deplaning and going through customs and immigration, he was met by an airline chauffeur, to drive him to the office. It was a short drive, just a few minutes down the road to the airline offices. He entered, and a woman with a clipbord greeted him, and showed him to the board for his interview. Nearly an hour later, he was done. While he waited for the results, he met up with a few other men who had been interviewed, and were shown around the large building. After the tour, they went into a room, with an amazing view of the airport and its planes, and with snacks and coffee. Around fifteen minutes later, Martin was called back to the room. He had been hired! He shook everyone's hand, and collected his luggage, as he headed back to the lobby. The chauffeur was still there, and he got in the car, and looked for houses in Montréal on his phone, as the car sped off to his hotel. He had nothing to worry about: a nice new job, and two and a half days off, in Europe's biggest city.

Anthony smiled as he chatted on his phone with his friend. It was a rare day off work, and he could stay home, instead of flying somewhere on a plane. He took a bite of his breakfast as he continued talking about life, work and hobbies with his friend. He heard the noise of the postman outside as he looked through the window to catch a rare glimpse of the usual postman. He rushed outside, still on his phone, and looked through the mail. Sure enough, there was the long-awaited Arthropol Airlines letter. He opened it as he talked to his friend, and read it out loud. He had been accepted for the first round of tests on 15 April, in Arthropol City.

Anthony was exhausted as he sat down in the room, awaiting the results from the tests. He chatted with some other applicants, and finally, the results. Anthony was overjoyed to find out he had just been accepted as a junior cabin crew member with a starting salary of €62 000 per year, based out of Lyon. Training started 13 May. But before then, there was lots to do, like getting a work visa, and looking for housing in Lyon. However, he faced these tasks with excitement; a new chapter of his life was about to begin.
