Given that the Imperial Court's leadership/most important nobles are gathering at the Imperial City so that the Grand Order can decide on this, though, I think it's going to certainly be interesting for those who show up at the Court-gathering that this RP will likely start off within the IC.

As for everything else: I'm trying to figure things out and review apps/lore stuff closely, and will likely accept things as time goes on throughout the day - as well as try to get the IC up in a timely manner. Please be patient.

Will I be able to attend as a general?

Isn't your character part of a noble house and thus would be able to attend anyway? From what I see of your app anyway with "Head of the von Draconia-Sterpol house"

Not to clog anything up to much, but I think Im going to create a lore app for the Rosha, the people who Siona spent her childhood with and who she identifies culturally with.

A work in progress, I suddenly feel a bit tired so I will finish it tomorrow.

APPLICATION:

Name: Andremon Son of Bemares, Horse-Prince, Imperial Sheriff
Age: 26
Sex: Male
Race: Centaur
Appearance:
Image

Personality: Prince Andremon is a man of a soft, gentle and thoughtful demeanour. He is always the observer, never much of a talker or a politician. He likes to observe from afar, trading rather little words with others. He doesn’t trust outsiders very much, instead relying mostly on his friends and kinsmen from the Steppe. He has rather little care for the world outside what his own kinsmen can achieve. If they are left alone, he will not engage in politics, and he will always pursue greater independence for them.
Skills: Andremon is a good tracker, an archer, and a mace fighter. He is also a proper musician and a poet, both in the language of the centaurs and in the common tongue of man.
House: Children of Mylosios
Loyalties: To the Horse-Folk of the Flowing Steppes
Biography: Andremon Son of Bemares was born as the second child to Bemares, then High Prince of the Horse-Folk. His sister Hipperis, the older of the two, was always meant to take the position of Chieftain of the Horse-Folk after her father. As such, Andremon befell another task, which all second children of the dynasty had to bear.

In the days of yore, according to legend, the Horse-Folk assisted in the defence and the construction of the First City, forging the Treaty of Grass and Stone.

APPLICATION:

Name: Sir Corryn Blackshield, Marshal of the Royal Army
Age: 57
Sex: Male
Race: Human
Appearance:
Personality: A reserved, gruff, man, he is almost suicidally brave and willing to share the same conditions among his men. This makes him extremely popular.
Skills: An excellent tactician and fighter.
House: Blackshield
Loyalties: Corryn has no wish to engage in political scheming. His only wish is that the Terran Empire is held together and protected from outside foes.
Biography: Corryn was born into a family of lesser nobles as the third son in a dreary swampland. His mother died of malaria when he was five, and so Corryn was raised by a father who mostly ignored him in favor for Corryn's older brother. With no aptitude for magic and no interest in religion, Corryn quickly joined the military. He gained high marks at the Royal Military Academy, and went on to become a lieutenant in the Royal Army.
Corryn distinguished himself in battle after battle, slowly rising through the ranks. As his rank grew, his fame did as well. Corryn soon became one of if not the most famous men in the army, and recieved many awards from the Empress herself. Corryn was offered many titles and lands of extinct baronies and duchies, but he refused. He was not one for governing, and the acts of his father gave Corryn a strong distaste for the life of nobility.
Ten years ago, the Empress gave Corryn the highest rank he could achieve - Marshal of the Royal Army. Whoever held this illustrious post commanded the entire army, and it was only given to a few throughout history. As in the rest of his career, Corryn has served honorably in this post.
Now, Corryn is one of the key players in this game of crowns - and one of the only ones who does not seek the prize that others covet so dearly. The only thing Corryn strives for is the safety of his Empire.

Indeed. We’ll have to see who seems to be coming next, because Kauashe might be inclined to let poisons slip past her guard if the heir is that objectionable...

I'm going to be finishing up my app/lore post reviewal and such very soon. You should perhaps see massive updates within the next two hours at most, and the IC released sometime around then as well.

The Rotha Nomads

Image

The Rosha are a wandering people, who live their lives in nomadic caravans that earn money through trading, information and often times as troupes of entertainers and actors. The origin of their people is largely up to debate, but most agree that considering their pale skin, red hair and cultural association with foxes that they must have originated in the temperate forests of the Northern Empire. Within Rosha culture however, there are many stories of how they became a people, with most of them detailing how they were once slaves of an ancient empire, and were granted their freedom by the legendary hero Fio-Tir. It is said that Fio-Tir was the concubine in the ancient Empire, and became close to the Emperor. During this time, the Empire was in decline, and was beset by demons known as the Darkness. By using her influence with the Emperor, Fio-Tir asked for a wager. If she could dispel the Darkness, the Emperor would have to free the Five Tribes Of Rosha. But if she failed, all of her descendants would be forever the consorts of the Emperor, and the Rosha would remain slaves. It is said that Fio-Tir set out into the world, and that she studied and learned the ways of magic to help dispel the Darkness. She was supposedly gone for 15 years, and during this time it was believed that she had died, and her children were enslaved, and her people were still not free. However, she was not in fact dead, and had found where the world between the Mortal Realm and other dimensions was weak, and she sealed it with the sacrificing of 75 foxes, hence the significance of foxes in Rosha culture. With the rifts sealed, she had to destroy what demons and spirits were left that continued to darken the world, and she created magical lamps to do so, walking the earth and lighting the places where the darkness had seeped in, until one day she returned to the Emperor's palace. The Emperor tried to deny her having freed the Rosha and dispelled the darkness, and in vengeance Fio-Tir destroyed the Emperor's palace with fire, thus nailing the Empires coffin closed and freeing her people.

No one knows if this legend is true or not, but most Rosha choose to say that it is, though it is more so for cultural identity than for actual belief. What is agreed upon however, is that once the Rosha were freed, they dispersed across the world, and never settled down again. After spending their entire existence in slavery, the Rosha were determined to never be held down again, and reveled in the freedom and ability to explore and go where they chose. This is how they became the nomadic people we know today, and where many say their often friendly, curious and mischeavous cultural identities come from. It all hails from ancient Rosha, excited for their freedom.

There are certain aspects of the Rosha that are considered culturally significant, such as travel and the plays they put on to earn money. However, ask any Rosha and they will tell you that the two most important things in their culture are their caravan, and their wagon. A caravan to a Rosha is similar to a clan to other cultural groups. Often they are very large, with upwards of 100 people in them, and they stay together for their whole lives, though some may leave to explore the world. Each caravan has a name, with the five most well respected being the Mio-Fen, the Lorael, the Mistos, The Carn-Laer, and the Leand. It is said that these, the Five Great Caravans, were founded by the children of Fio-Tir, and as such are the most well respected. Most Rosha believe that though conflict with another caravan can be forgiven, to betray or hurt ones own caravan is the greatest crime, and will lead to expulsion and being considered no longer Rosha, or to be killed in the Flaying, in which the accused is tied to a tree and slowly flayed for days and days, with it only stopping when they finally die.

The second most important thing for a Rosha is their wagon. Each wagon is like a small home, and can generally fit about three people comfortably, or five if you push it. As a result, an average family will likely have two or three wagons, one for the parents, the other for the children, and a possible third for the supplies of the family. The wagons run in a Rosha's family, and will be handed down for generations. It is not uncommon for a Rosha family to be able to trace their wagons back for upwards of ten generations. Traditionally, the parents wagon comes from the husbands side of the family, and the children's coming from the wife's. The supply wagon, if they own one, can be built by them or taken from either side of the family, and will one day become the wagon of the eldest child. Often, the wagons are beautifully carved and painted, covered in magnificent blues and oranges and greens, and carved with legends from ones family. To disrespect ones wagon is to disrespect them, and is a good way to land yourself in a fist fight very very fast. Also, it should be noted, that though orange, green and blue are significant colors to Rosha as a whole, each caravan generally distinguishes itself with its own colors. For instance, the caravan that Siona Willun grew up in's colors were purple and black.

A third important aspect of the Rosha, are their abilities with swords. Though a sword is not as important as the wagon, almost all families have an ancestral saber. Typically, it is passed down from father to eldest child, regardless of gender, just like the third wagon. Rosha swords come in all shapes and sizes, and are treated as a last resort, but one which they are willing to employ without question if it means protecting their wagons, and protecting their caravan.

Lastly, the Rosha are famed for their story telling abilities. They are raised with grand stories and epics, about the rises and falls of empires and kingdoms throughout history, grand warriors and hero's, and the incredible feats of mages and monsters. For this reason, most like to think of Rosha as travelling historians, who will either know or know someone who knows the history of any region they are in. Ask a Rosha for a story, and they will ask you to choose what kind you want. Ask for them to tell you history, and they will ask you to tell them what era you want. In short, if you want a story, and a good one to boot, its a Rosha you should ask.

I think I managed to update the roster with all (completed) applications that were deemed acceptable. Those which are incomplete and will be completed soon will be added upon completion. The Lore Post, similarly, received a good chunk of updated stuff that you all have contributed (as much as I could add and what I felt would be good to add, anyway).

The IC will be up as soon as I finish organizing it - hopefully, sooner rather than later. Worst case scenario, I post it down and finish the initial post within it later and either edit the IC's OP or post that separately.

Get ready, folks. This thing's gonna get started really soon.

Just some ideas I had to make sure we're on the same page (if this gets added to the cannon) and in a totally unrelated note to my character ;) :

Daemonic Weaponry:

One of the most peculiar and profane occurrences to ever sully the world of Gaia is the unholy marriage between the impossible and possible, of the material world and the immaterial world: Daemonic possession. But while possession of humans is more commonly understood - often references in folktales or bedtime stories as reasons why naughty children should be sure to say their prayers and respect their parents the possession of inanimate objects, namely weaponry is far less understood but perhaps even more offensive. The Daemonic taking advantage of mortal work, twisting and corrupting what good honest Smiths spend their lives on and making a mockery out of manufacturers everywhere. Possessed weaponry can be even harder for the beloved Inquisitorial Order to hunt down, spread thinly across the world, hiding in plain sight. Unlike mortal victims swords don't have to interact with others, decreasing the chance a dutiful bystander sees the corruption with his own eyes and alerts the Inquisition. No threat may be more heretical and insidious.

A common misconception is that Daemonic weaponry is unusual and easily spotted but this is not always true. Daemonic weapons can come in a variety of shapes and sizes from the humble knife to the war mace, although less frequent even ranged weaponry can be possessed (Daemons seem to prefer the intimate violence granted by melee weaponry). Daemonic weapons do often have peculiar quirks or appearances, often looking elaborate or otherworldly for Daemons are not humble creatures and will often want to attract the attention of a powerful host but this isn't always a sign of possession, some prefer to lay low or avoid attention. It is whispered that the first Daemonic weapon was actually the first knife crafted by mortals for the purpose of murder, a simple and plain weapon but one soaked in heresy and corruption.

The Daemon inside the weapon can be there because of a variety of reasons. Some are simply bound to weapons by powerful spell-casters, invoking ancient and abhorrent rituals in order to tie a Daemon into their or an ally's weapon, with Daemonic weapons often performing better than standard weapons, with Daemons able to nudge their hosts into better form as well as communicate directly through the host's mind, often whispering advice or encouragements to suit the Daemon's schemes. Daemons can also be in weaponry as a form of punishment, forced to remain on the mortal place, unable to move or talk directly. It is said that during the crusades particularly powerful Daemons were bound to weaponry by mages unable to destroy them by natural means, instead confining their power to an inanimate object which could be watched over. Other times Daemons willingly bind to weapons for a variety of reasons. it is said that the Daemon inside such a weapon will be able to feast somewhat from the soul of the wielder and those he slays. Many particularly bloody warlords or bandits were said to have attracted Daemons, eager to feast on the souls of women and children. Once their host dies a Daemon entering a weapon in this manner is able to slip away, back to the underworld; invigorated by it's feast. Less fortunate Daemons who choose a weak or disappointing host may be trapped forever, unable to gain the necessary power to escape, raging against their eternal prison.

I should come up with some lore pieces about the service of the Deathwatch Knights to House Regine. I wonder what the Demons thought when they began fighting Lesser Vampires.
There is no such thing as peace, only truce between wars

I'll be posting the OP for the IC momentarily; I'm somewhat tired, and have decided to go to bed. I'll probably post or edit the IC OP with my first IC post later, or maybe cut it down a bit and add more in another post later.

If your characters are nobility or otherwise part of the Imperial Court, it is likely that your first posts should be your arrival at the Imperial City, being escorted to the Grand Palace in its center (wherein the Gaian Throne resides). In all likelihood, those of you entering the Grand Palace will end up waiting in the Great Hall for the Master of the Grand Order of the Throne of Gaia (along with some minor members of the Grand Order who act as his counsel).

They will begin a summary review of the Imperial Courtship members and their positions, and then likely announce the “Inheritor of the Throne” at the dinner. The Inheritor is not yet Emperor or Empress, but instead merely to be crowned as such within a month of the proclamation. Of course, the Master of the Grand Order's decision is usually considered final. But before that, there will be some interaction between the characters as well as the Master speaking briefly with them to review their titles and family bloodlines.

Anyways, that's a summary of what's planned to happen for the first few posts of the IC after it goes up for the nobles. If you're not a noble, you're likely just waiting to hear the news to be spread or doing your own thing.

The IC thread is launched; a link may be found in the OP.

With that, I bid you all a good night.
