[DRAFT] Piracy Prevention Act

The World Assembly,

Acknowledging that songs, albums, and singles; drawings, paintings, sculptures, and other visual arts media; and all types of writings are the property of their creators upon claim,
Defining piracy as the illicit sale or purchase of such products or reproductions of the products to which the creator claims ownership, by which the creator receives no royalties,

Hereby,

Establishes the World Piracy Prevention Commission to intervene in issues of piracy,
Requires that all member nations maintain strict legislation and enforcement of laws preventing piracy.

Hey there! Glad to see you take an interest in international WA.

Unfortunately this contradicts a Foreign Copyright Recognition resolution. You can alter it to recognize domestic copyrights. different countries may have different desires in legislating copyrights by terms and protections

Also, your definition of piracy would need to be specified as being "for the purpose of this resolution" in order to avoid a clash with with GA Resolution #20 'Suppress International Piracy', which deals with the other kind of "pirates".

OOC: I thought the GenSec stance was that each resolution can only affect its own text with the definitions, regardless of the presence or absencese of the "for the purpose of this resolution" text?

Opinions might differ on this point, but including that specification has certainly been officially required for legality on some past occasions. My own opinion would be that "defining" implicitly involves this limitation on scope anyway, and so is okay, but that "defines" does require this added clarification to keep it from applying to all proposals in which the defined term occurs.

The resolution is very short if you have tha to pass you should redact more paraghaphs also i am counseling you well while i am againist this proposal and in favor of internet piracy value tha
