McGareth has flown back to Hawaii one day earlier than usual to participate in an event he is proud to be able to speak at. It is the graduation ceremony for that year for the school from his childhood of Kahuku High School and he is giving a brief address to the students as an alumnus of the school now in his position as a Senator.

McGareth shows up early for the setting up to make sure that everything is prepared well and also to visit some. It has been almost thirty years but there are still a few old and almost ready to retire teachers left there who he knew. He had also sometimes interacted with the school as the Chief of Police so he has some people to talk to about his past at the school including his good old days as the Quarterback with number Five Oh in the state championships before he went to Annapolis to follow the path of his departed father. He has good memories of the school and is proud to be able to speak to the next generation of the Red Raiders.

He is brought up to speak after a half hour for the first parts of the ceremony and gives his remarks.

"Good evening everyone. My name is Sam McGareth and I'm the junior Senator for our state and someone who was in a place like this a long time ago to graduate from this high school myself and it is an honor to speak at this graduation." He turns to speak to the students.

"Today you are all together standing side by side and it may be the last time that all of you are here. It is a sad thing to think about but it can become truth. All of you are going to go your own different ways. All of you have a special dream for life and it is now the time to seize it. Some of you are going to go to college to continue your education. Some of you are going to join a family business. Some of you are going to go into the Temple here. Some of you are going to learn a trade. Some of you are going to go the way I did and join are military. And some of you don't know what you're going to do yet but you still have a path to find. When all of you leave this room you are going to spread out in a hundred directions and you all can make a mark on the world in your own way.

This may be the last time that all of you are here in the same place together but I am not saying that to make you discouraged but to let you know that it does not matter. It does not matter because even when you are not together in body you can be together in spirit because with your classmates and teachers here you have a special community together and that is always going to be with you. Even when you are apart you always have your Kahuku brothers and sisters. It is like the huddle from when I played football here. You all break up and go to do the different goals that you have in the different positions but you are all still on the same team in the same uniforms and still together. That is the kind of bond all of you have.

When you do see each other you will always have the memories that you made together to share. You may work with your classmates for decades together or you may not see them for years and then find that you have run into a Kahuku brother or sister again. Maybe one day one of you will have my job and get to speak to the next generation again. Whatever you do and wherever you go the community will be there for you and even when you can't see them we will all be behind you.

Always remember your Kahuku pride and your friends and community. Go out and find your dreams and follow them and make all of us proud but more importantly make yourself proud by becoming the best that you can be."

Afterwards he watches proudly as the graduating class continues the long tradition of the Haka war dance at the end glad to be a part of this step for the next generation.

“Global warming is an impending danger for the sake of the United States of America. It threatens jobs, the environment and people’s live. We’re living in one of the greatest ecological disasters of our life, and I want to fight global warming head on.

You can count on me to be tough on carbon emissions and strong on the environment because I am a Board Member of Greenpeace USA. We as an organisation have been fighting tooth and nail for cleaner air, responsible industry and protecting the valuable wildlife of this country.

I’m proud of my record in Greenpeace, and I continue to be a keen activist and member of the organisation. But, activism can only get us so far. I had a realisation that we must take the war against climate change to the government of America. As our country emits some of the most carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, I saw it fitting that I must put an end to this.

I have a respectable competitor in the Progressive Primary, Torrisi, a lovely girl. However, the other candidates are a jungle of ecological genocide. None have mentioned the impacts of climate change, and as we speak, the Republican Party in New York is imploding.

This is a vital time to take action New York, the alt-Right in the Republican Party must be stopped. I hope to combat their hatred with rationalist, love and hope. We need everyone in New York, not only self-identitied Progressives to support the common-sense candidate, who I believe is myself.

I have the best record on many issues, but most of all climate change. As your Mayor a while ago, Saratoga Springs, I invested heavily into renewable energies. I would do the same in Senate and boost our alternative energy market by increasing and creating new incentives for solar panels and wind turbines.

This will take the economy in a new direction, a direction that has reliable and clean jobs. If we can pivot our workforce to a green and renewable workforce, we can live up to our obligations to the World in terms of carbon pollution. We can also provide stable work for an industry of people on the edge of being fired.

I’ve heard stories of ex-coal miners who have been glad they have their new jobs in renewable energy. Machnical engineers in the mines can work on the wind turbines, and the miners themselves can help construct them. It’s a win win situation for both the planet and the people of America.

Let’s end this agenda, driven by mining magnates, that we cannot be pro-business and pro-environment at the same time. Switching to renewable energy means that our companies are at the forefront of internatinal technology and standards. I won’t let New York and America be left behind in technological advancement.

That’s why we need a clean and modern industry in New York. But, it doesn’t stop there. I want to increase public park spaces across New York, I want to protect our environmental lands from destruction and I want to establish conservation efforts across the country to keep our endangered species alive.

Making the environmental protection agency more powerful, with more jurisdiction and giving it teeth is another vital aspect of my environmental goals if elected to the Senate. We need to stop the plunder of our national parks and more. I believe there’s only one way to stop that, a vote for me.
