That said, I would have no problem with placing you on the ticket as an Independent, you can focus on policy and continue hitting at the admittedly shitty buisness practices of Walmart while still running alongside me. I'm nobody's stooge Joh, not Walton's or anyone elses, and I want you to take that to heart. If anything, we need more people like me who are willing to buck Walton in the party, otherwise, it'll die when she does."

"As for the attacks, they were mostly political. I'll freely admit that your union history concerns me because of the bias against women often endemic in such circles, but that's something that we'll work on changing once we've taken office." she said confidently. "Don't take the past too personally."

Kramer proceeded to gently open the door and enter Amaras's office before waiting to be told to be seated.

I want to run for US Senate for New Jersey and so far I've heard rumblings about an offer coming from the Democratic Party. Say I do go for your Lt Governor, I'll be bound to that position until your term has expired, and what is that, four years? Maybe eight if you win re-election? I can't just abandon the position once the 2018 election comes around. Then if I do run for such a position, further in the future, the Democratic Party wouldn't support me. I'd have to run alone, do everything alone, because I will not associate myself with the Progressive Party.

Despite all of that, you really have convinced part of me. I can't confirm now, obviously. However, I will take your offer to heart. Just give me a bit and I'll come back with an answer for you."

Scotty listened, nodding as she spoke.

"I do not know the specifics of that case in particular, but yes, we need to strengthen our sexual assault and rape criminal sentencing. I have been a vocal advocate for these changes, and as I stated before, I remain committed to helping the LAPD create its first, fully dedicated sexual crimes task force to not only increase the time served by rapists and assaulters but to increase reporting and convictions in the first place."

He paused.

"Thank you Ms. Hart, any other questions?"

"Yes, on its current trajectory L.A. is projected to have a deficit of over $200 million, how big a problem is the deficit and how will you shrink it as governor?"

He nodded and responded.

"Well, as mayor, I intend to take a hard and thorough look through the city's finances and its responsibilities in order to best find the areas where we can make adjustments. During my previous tenure as Governor, my spring cleaning initiative helped cut unnecessary spending and this is the same type of approach I intend to bring to the city. But let me remain steadfast, the projects and partnerships I have campaigned on will happen and my focus will remain to provide the best services for our city, for creating opportunity."

He awaited any other questions.

After he concluded the phone call, Joh drove up the road a little further after being sent an invite from the Governor. It wasn't a long drive, a few minutes or so. Joh contemplated as to why Hotchkiss wanted him for. He kept a steady mind, as it could be to influence him to help topple Schlang. Whatever it is, he went to it with an open mind and an awareness of manipulation.

He arrived outside in his car, which was plastered with his face and name. Joh walked into the door and spoke to the first staffer he saw.

"Hello, I'm here to see the Governor."

"Well, thank you sir for the support. Let me be clear, my political affiliation is something important and I have made no current efforts to change what it is as of now. But far greater than that is the policies and programs I have put forth, the policies that are above any partisanship and will help us triumph over the growing polarization. And if Walton is a concern, voting the other way is voting for my opponent who has clearly and visibly supported her."

He awaited more questions.

Kramer said as he sat down before removing the bill from the black attache case he had with him.

Soberman’s eyes widened when Joh said Governor was not his goal, and so did her campaign manager’s. Soberman understood where he was coming from to be sure, but that was an unexpected piece of information.

“I understand Joh. I’ll give you time to think. Goodnight.” She said, hanging up.

Seeing no other questions, Scotty thanked them and left the street. With aides helping him into the car seat, he piled in with his campaign staff. Emilio and him took off towards their home, where Emma was fast asleep.

Houston, Texas. The Residence of Senator Donald Williamson. 12:00 PM

They say everything is bigger in Texas. It's true, even the rats are.
But so is how much pain you endure after hardship.
Donald Williamson knew this better than anyone. Having lost his sister and his parents, he had a lot of demons to deal with. On top of that, he was stuck in a wheel chair.
Put short, he had a rough life. But having a rough life is like being sanded down by sandpaper. You came out a better person in the long run. Donald knew this, but still had to deal with the deaths of his closest loved ones.
"Johanna? My dear, so you have my afternoon pills ready?" He called out to his assistant (obviously named Johanna). She was pretty, early thirties, had a husband, a home. Had never lost a loved one. She had it good.
Two total opposites, in one house.
"Yes sir, I'm on my way as we speak." Donald's afternoon pills were some fish oil supplements and painkillers (he had recently undergone surgery for some heart issues). As she into Donald's office, he went over to his alcohol cabinet and pulled out a bottle of Jack Daniels.
"All right, let's get this over with. The fish oil for my heart problems, the painkillers for my physical pain, and the Jack for my demons. I'm ready."
Johanna rolled her eyes and placed the pill bottles down on his desk, saying "Why, aren't you just the little bag of sadness that I need?"
It was now but turn for the eye roll. He opened the bottle, poured a glass and took all three pills at once. (One fish oil, two painkiller.)
"You want a glass?" He asked Johanna, while grabbing a tumbler, knowing she liked mixed drinks.
"Oh, no I'm fine. Thank you for asking though. I've got to be the sober one for our return flight to Washington."
Donald stopped drinking.
"Shit, that's today aint it?"
His assistant nodded.
"Well, let's get a move on then." Donald finally said after a solid thirty seconds of awkward silence. Johanna moved behind him and began pushing him to the door, grabbing his suitcase on the way out. Hers was already in the car.
And with that, they were off.

Tom, having made the call and set up the meeting, was there to greet Stansky, and he offered a surprisingly warm welcome to the nighttime visitor.

"Good morning, Mr. Mayor! It passed midnight a while ago now, didn't it? Thanks for meeting on such short notice, you made my job a whole lot easier. Please, come on inside, it's good to have you here."

As he escorted Stansky the short way through the building, his mouth continued to run, fully taking over the conversation space.

"Exciting night, isn't it? You don't see races end up that close very often at all. You made plenty of headlines, that's for sure. It sure is going to be something to think about in the morning, well, it already is morning now, isn't it? I suppose it is-but look at that, here we are."

Tom opened the door to a small conference room, a oval table surrounded by a number of chairs, Hotchkiss seated at one of them, and glancing up at the entrance.

"Mayor Stansky, I'm glad you could make it. Please, take a seat," she offered.

The news station received news for a major advertisement buy and its airing began.

This is a special election and its an important time. It's a time to use your vote to shout your values and be heard by someone who believes in them too.



When mud is slung everywhere elections can get nasty. But when we refuse to let attacks and smears discourage us and we stand up and speak our voices we only make our values stronger.



Our values are compassion and love for our neighbors. We don't believe in hating them because of who they choose to love and we don't believe in abandoning them when they are sick. We don't believe in risking their safety to satisfy a gun lobby and we don't believe that their value as a person comes from how much they make. We don't believe that their children should have to grow up in a world worse than the one we were raised in and we don't believe that its anyone's right but theirs to decide what their family life will be.



Our values are why we stand for the Progress we believe in from marriage equality to universal healthcare and common sense gun control to fair tax reform and making the rich pay their fair share and from environmental protection to a woman's right to choose



This election make your voice heard and vote your values. Do it for yourself, do it for your neighbors and the people you love and do it for this great country that all of us cherish and are ready to move forward to Progress

Official Name: Act for the Returning of Environmental Affairs to the States Nickname: AREAS

Overview: This act seeks to dissolve the Environmental Protection Agency and hand the issue of environmental protection back to the individual states and their governments so that efficiency and effectiveness is increased.

Section 1: As of now the issue of environmental affairs is administered through the federal Environmental Protection Agency. The existence of the Environmental Protection Agency puts the United States at a great disadvantage through consequences such as the forced unemployment of Working Americans throughout the United States or through not allowing the United States to access the full potential of its natural resources, therefore putting the United States at a disadvantage compared to other nations.

Section 2: This act hereby starts the process of dissolving the Environmental Protection Agency which will conclude on January 1st 2018.

Section 3: Consequently, this act hereby hands the issue of environmental protection over to the individual states and their governments.

This bill is then honorably presented to the Senate for consideration in order to dissolve the Environmental Protection Agency and return the issue affairs to the individual states to improve the United States Law and is backed by Senator Alois Kramer on May 16th 2017.

It is late in the evening at the very end of the weekend and the building is almost completely empty. Only Walton and the night security are still there which is Gabby at the desk tonight. But up in her office Ellen is setting up for a pleasant meal. She has a small round table with one chair on both sides and the plates silverware and glasses all very nicely laid out. She has a tall candle in the middle of the table for the light on top of a red tablecloth and makes the appearance and feel of a nice restaurant set up there. She has not started eating yet though because even though the food is ready and set off to the side under a lid on a cart the other seat is still empty and she expects her guest to be here soon.

Hotchkiss took Stansky's offered hand with a small, clammy one of her own before taking a seat. It was not immediately apparent, and likely would not be without looking under the table or a perceptive eye, but her seat had longer legs than Joh's, or the others at the table. The adjustment provided a modest boost to her seated height, though not enough to place her even with the taller man.

"Your performance was also impressive...Joh," she replied, rolling over the immediately familiar term somewhat awkwardly in her mouth, her voice carrying an unmistakable rasp.

"I was surprised to hear it end so soon," she commented.
