Another Noble to add to the list of Mary Sues.

Name: Erosen Arnyek
Sex: Male
Age: 23
Appearance:

Image

Element: Currently Darkness/Previously Nature
Skills: Dark Element Manipulation (Touch & Remote); Teleportation
Personality: ISTP-A
Weaknesses: By nature he does not appreciate large groups of people. He also currently lacks effective counters to most hard-hitting Elemental abilities except to draw upon the Dark Element he naturally feeds upon. His element naturally is high energy to use and his employment of it comes from his body. As such, he minimizes usage of his Element and relies almost entirely upon his physical strength to supplement that.

He's additionally weak to the Nature Element, his disgraced status as a Darkling as well as his desire to return to Veridaelia has led him to searching the last three years for a means to return, but with little if any progress. He would do almost anything to again become a Nature elemental again and has sacrificed much in that pursuit.

Equipment, if any: He carries upon him the token passed down to him by his mother's midwife as a sign of his heritage and ancestry. Strung about his neck upon a lanyard, he keeps it forever close to himself and is highly defensive of it.

He wears a pair of dark colored breeches and a long, high collared coat with a thick lining for the cold north. He additionally wears a Stetson. His clothing is affected by the glamour he casts about himself, but he rarely uses it as his current clothing is in new condition and is likewise durable. He currently has no weapons or additional equipment with or on him as he travels almost unsustainably light.

Bio: Born to an illegitimate affair between Garmiccian Royalty, he was abandoned in the forests of Elcresia. Protected by the forest in his younger years, he grew to become its guardian and took on the likeness of an ancient demon, the Lezjy. His ability to interact with the wilds was a talent and gift honed to help him in his hunts for the poachers and dangerous animals.

When peace settled upon Garmiccian Empire, tales of a wild man imbued with the power of nature and violently protecting a fertile copse, began to spread north. The bounty issued by the nobility for his capture equated a small fortune and drew many in the hunt for the Elemental. The Garamiccian royal court, fresh from the civil war, turned its eyes to the loose end which had become manifest after eighteen years.

Scandal threatening the legitimacy of the court led to a missive to raze the forest and kill the wild man within. Fleeing for his life, from his childhood home and refuge, he found passage as a stowaway aboard a vessel bound for the distant lands of Gallia to the East. His arrival there, placed him on a journey with those like himself, gifted with the ability to control the very fabric of the world around them. Elementals.

Finding himself a companion of those on a noble quest, he fell to temptation when he failed to understand the purpose of his existence or his gifts. Tainted by the powers of the Dark and falling from the grace of Veridaelia in his wayward searching, Erosen was stripped of his ability to manipulate nature and became a Darkling. His time with the group after that point would soon come to an end Appearing in the wilds of Gallia, a wanderer yet again, but with a quest and a secret to which he has sworn his life.

Theme Song: Dead Man Walking
RP Sample: Remember me?

And actually that's probably the only possession he still has. I happened to forget that Tristan's luggage probably didn't make it to Yuelkelu with him.

Oh well. The nostalgia makes up for it :P

Fair point. I thought the rest of what he had was just nice clothes anyway. Trish had a magic bow, but I don't remember Tristan taking one.

Yeah, just those fancy clothes he got from the Duke's family. I thought they might've given him some armor or something of the sort for the mountain trip, but it doesn't look like it (and he wouldn't have it anyway).

Unrelated note, would you be open to a character being the leader of a faction in the midst of war-torn Gallia? I've had the odd thought of possibly playing the head of a small rogue state or the boss in a band of mercenaries as a secondary character. But I realize that's not very typical for ye olde Elementals adventure.

Oh well, good to see you here as well Zark. Long time no see. About to be doing a bunch of writing tomorrow for another RP I'm in, but I figured I'd get done some of the stuff for tomorrow today. ^^

He wears a knee-length high-collar tunic of dark blue color. Most lighter colors end up staining when he feeds or uses his abilities. He also sports a pair of long brown trousers which are tucked within the leather boots he wears. About his shoulders is a dark blue cloak with a similarly high collar. Upon his side, he wears a dagger and usually in hand he holds a single quarter-spear, which stands roughly his height and doubles as his walking staff.

Bio: Born to Garamiccian Royalty, at the early age of seven months he was abandoned in the forests of Elcresia. Taken in by the forest itself and growing in strength, he became the protector of the forest that had saved him in his early years. His ability to interact with the wilds on sheer second nature was a talent he honed, helping him in his hunts for the poachers and dangerous animals around him.

With peace settled upon the furthest extents of the Garamiccian lands, tales of a feral man in the forests imbued with the powers of nature and taking no violator of his wood alive, began to spread through the taverns and inns of the empire. His bounty had quickly been laid by the game wardens, and lies at the rate of a small fortune for those brave enough to take it. The Garamiccian court, fresh off their annexations of yet more lands around them, turned its eyes to tie the loose end which had been left by the wayside nearly eighteen years prior.

The potential for scandal if his origin were to ever be revealed, the order came from the highest courts to raze the forest the wild man had been residing in. Flames and destruction erasing all he'd ever known or loved, the Nature elemental ran and never stopped. In exile from his home country, he found passage as a stowaway aboard a vessel bound across the shining seas and towards the distant lands of Gallia to the North. His arrival there, placed him within contact with those like himself, gifted with the ability to control the very fabric of the world around them. Elementals.

Finding himself in the companion of those on a journey, he longed to learn to speak and interact as they did, but his wish was granted at a price. Tainted by the powers of the Dark, and falling from the grace of Veridaelia in his wayward searching, Erosen was stripped of his ability to manipulate nature, and it's turn became a Darkling. His time with the group after that point would soon come to an end as he went missing through an Inferno and years later appeared in the wilds of Gallia, a wanderer yet again.

How small of a rogue state are we talking here? I'm intrigued by the idea. A mercenary boss could be an interesting character as well, especially given Aerion's background.

Er, small. Wasn't thinking more than a couple cities if not just the one, rejecting both Auregen and Vildernheim's rule and scheming against surrounding states. I generally don't toy with whole factions, so I probably wouldn't be much good taking a large one :P

I don't have a lot thought out yet, honestly. I thought to ask for permission before committing to an idea that might not fly in here.

At any rate, I think I'm leaning more towards the idea of a military leader. Perhaps merge the two ideas and make it a pretender to one of the seats of power in Gallia?

Nobles, orphans, and the occasional humble soldier? Sounds like the setup for a Fire Emblem game :P

It hasn't been terribly long since there were city-states in Galllia, a fact reflected by how a lot of the political titans in Galllia are referred to by their city title, like Duke of Auregen, rather than something like Duke of Aurennia, so the idea of a city aspiring to be its own country again isn't too far-fetched. A pretender would be interesting to see for sure. The Kreighold could be a good candidate for someone there, after the death of Duke Kreigen and his successor being a youth, although it might not make sense for such a person to be away from that region running around the rest of the world.

Name: Catrin Eberhardt

Sex: Female

Age: 24

Appearance: Right here folks. For the human part at least, though she tends to grow her hair out. Has six eyes - two in the normal place, two on her forehead, two at the point of her cheekbones, all of which are an emerald green with black sclera. Her body is a scaled-up arachnoid body resembling that of a typical Latrodectus - long second and third leg pairs but even longer first and fourth pairs, mostly black body with a red stripe down the back and on the underside as well. Her standard standing height is about 2.2 meters and at rest her forward/rearward legspan (wheelbase?) is about 4 meters. She has a pair of pedipalps about the size of and located where her legs would be on the human part of her body, tipped with some rather impressive fangs that are presumably just there for defense or against particularly large prey her ancestors may have hunted in the past. Arms are covered beyond the mid-humerus with a similar exoskeleton to her legs, though not quite as durable.

Element: Spider.

Skills: Claims to be good at combat with particularly large weapons. Good with her hands (naturally) and repairing things ranging from weapons to clothing to machinery. Good with fabric for painfully obvious reasons. Ironically a good climber despite her fear of heights. Poisonous blood. Fast as a horse. Produces webbing from both her wrists (strong as ballistic nylon) and her spinnerets (strong as typical spider silk). Can walk on walls unless they're like, really smooth. Can see in ultraviolet, and generally has superior senses. Blood and saliva have the same venom as her fangs. Exoskeleton about as strong as average-quality iron armor or low-quality steel armor.

Personality: Loves to tinker. Short attention span, though she can focus if incentivized to do so, usually with money or if something is interesting enough.

Weaknesses: She's got a body the size of a small jet ski with legs longer than she is tall, I think that counts. Caffeine has the same effect on her as alcohol has on humans. Fear of extreme heights. Misanthropic towards humans, more so of fire Elementals. Doesn't trust a lot of magic things tbh unless they're very simple. But especially fuck fire wizards. Her venom doesn't really work that well on people - about as bad as a bee sting. Her fangs, while big, can break off. They grow back, but they do break off and it hurts like hell. Poor grip on smooth surfaces. Greedy. A bit naiive, doesn't pay much attention to world history that doesn't directly affect her. Merely an average cook. Trusts the strength of her exoskeleton a little too much. Pulling the hairs out of her legs hurts very much please don't.

Equipment, if any: Bigass zweihander with a black blade, too thick, too huge to be called a sword. A pair of much more reasonably-sized falchions. Red tunic with black and gold trim and four pockets. Jack-of-plaite to go under tunic. Red cloak with hood. Some brown leather thing - is it a skirt? we'll cal it a skirt, held up with a black leather belt. Travel pack with tent, cooking pot, cooking utensils, fire starter, diary, winter weather rolls for her legs, blanket. Heater shield with her coat of arms - a black spider bearing a lit grey torch on a white field. Iron sallet-style helmet with slit-eyes visor and aventail.

Bio: They say spiders come from caves beneath the earth, and that is true for some spiders, though some prefer homes. Driders, though, almost always come from caves, emerging only to go on hunting expeditions or to trade with other drider clans - rarely, with humans, and only if the humans have something the driders may want. Sometimes the humans are willing to trade. In the case of Catrin's clan, they were not, and attempted to attack the place. Dumb mistake, as the caves led right under Wansby in one of the many forests of the UGF. So Catrin was actually born above ground and raised there. She even earned an apprenticeship under a human blacksmith who was too old and cranky to run away when the driders 'claimed' the town. Sadly, humans don't much like losing their towns to driders, and one day called upon a flame Elemental to drive them out around when Catrin was fifteen. She wasn't sure he was an Elemental, however. Maybe he was just really good at making lots of fire, which had the same effect. She fled naturally into the forest along with however many of her kin survived, as the cave was obviously a no-go. She wandered around for a while, exchanging her skills for food and shelter - eventually getting good enough through practice to exchange it for equipment or being allowed to make her own, as in the case of her zweihander. It hasn't helped her misanthropy much though - some people are scared of spiders, and a lot of people are scared of carriage-sized spiders. Since then she's been alternating between hunting or blacksmithing for money. Right now it's mostly hunting as she arcs towards the north.

War? Sorry, Catrin's not that interested in politics, and her forest was pretty isolated from the war.

Theme Song (Optional): Linkle

RP Sample: Bitch.

A pretender would be interesting to see for sure. The Kreighold could be a good candidate for someone there, after the death of Duke Kreigen and his successor being a youth, although it might not make sense for such a person to be away from that region running around the rest of the world.

Hmm, alright, that gives me some ideas.
