Welcome

To Mobius, a vibrant and interactive fantasy-based region set around the industrious revolution period, where industry meets magic to the point it's been embedded into society. Mobius thrives as a worldbuilding region where you the individual or otherwise nation decide the fate of history and how it shall affect the future to come. The region was founded on the principal of being a safe haven to those who find themselves to be outworldly, wanting to try something new, escape modern society, or the beneath the foot of a god-modded futuristic nation. Mobius is openly welcome to those whom find themselves predominately shaped to be something different from the rest of the NationStates community, and perhaps that may just be you.

Mobius in its current state is pretty much established, but fairly new. The staff and the community, by all means, is quite lax and very helpful to those in need, which is a key component to developing a successful region as said by many.

The World Map

The Map of Mobius, while not original is inherited from the Sonic the Hedgehog Universe (Video Game Franchise); Hence the name of the region as a tribute. However, it was heavily modified in terms of graphics to accommodate the needs of the region, with minor additions here and there such as the Japanese Archipelago.

From looking, the map consists of 6 majors landmasses (otherwise continents): with two being subsequently merged as Cyrelashia and several archipelagoes. Each continent is diversified, sharing little to no similarities at all with another, such as Cyrus & Elashia having a different style of architecture and religious concepts as an example.

Take a look at the climate of each continent to get a gist of where you want your nation to be placed

Are puppets allowed?
Indeed puppet are allowed. However, they must be active & participating. Consequently, you'll need to fill out a placement application for the puppet in addition to your main

What type of species can I be?
Anything as long as it has human-characteristics, hence the term humanoid. An example of illegal species would be pop-culture alien, xenomorph, and E.T. We have a general list of species you can view here

Why can't I start large or have one of the shaded areas
For the time being, we wish that every nation started small. No nation, not even roman became vast in a day; However, the shaded areas will disappear in time as more player nations join.

Why can Chun-Nan start large?
Chartering nations get the benefit of starting large; However, it's at a price to keep expansion balanced

Can I colonize / expand
Yes you may expand your nation. However, claims can only be made at a specific period of time. Additionally, claims can be made in any unoccupied territory within the vicinity of your nation; although they must be small.

  • Newly admitted nations (meaning you) may not start with a population of more than 6 million. (It's encouraged to start small for worldbuilding)
  • Nations may only be placed, in locations that have drawn borders. With further restrictions listed below
    • Consult with Soleanna in regards to areas that have no drawn borders, if you wish to be placed elsewhere.
  • Godmodding won't grant you a placement, so don't even bother
  • We're not taking requests for additional landmasses ex. island, archipelagoes, etc....
  • Rolacne & Chun-nan are the region superpowers for the next

The roots of the empire date back several centuries and that beyond recorded history; being once a land comprised of 3 warmongering kingdoms that were unified under what is now Chun-Nan by the Chun-XI dynasty, which to this date still reigns over the empire they've founded. Chun-Nan boasts as the powerhouse of the Eastern-Elashia region, with a heavily conscripted military power of 406,775 in total. Nation Description: Nipponese Empire (Nipponese: 新日本帝国, Shin Nihon Teikoku), more commonly referred to as Nippon (Nipponese: 日本, Nihon), is an absolute monarchy east of Chun-Nan and the continent of Elashia. Nippon is an upcoming yet stable military and economic power in the East. It is notably inferior to its continental cousin, but the Empire has engaged in colonialism in order to bolster its own power and prestige.
Nippon as a nation has existed for millennia; The culture and people of Nippon have been heavily influenced by Chun-Nan over the centuries. However, societal upheavals in its history coaxed it into isolation and dealing with solely internal matters. Three centuries ago, the Anema dynasty unified the squabbling feudal realms under the banner of the Anema. Unfortunately, troubles occurred that saw to the near-extinction of the line. The Mogami family was set to usurp the thrown due to a matrilineal marriage between the Crown Prince and a Mogami noblewoman a century ago. However, the Mogami family were driven out under orders of the ailing Emperor. The Mogami dynasty had since found refuge in Chun-Nan, learning to survive in their new home until they could return and reclaim what they believed to be theirs. 33 years ago, they returned and took the throne upon the death of the last Anema sovereign.

Nation Description: The Kingdom of Hanataya is a religious nation based upon the principles of the Church of Gaea, a religion centered around a goddess of nature and her descendants, by settlers from multiple origins. The history of the nation is pretty peaceful, as its neutrality and its isolement over the centuries made sure that no nation would declare a war on such an unimportant kingdom. Due to a combisation of factors such as the climate and the culture, a naturist-like way of life has developped over the course of the years and with a very ecologic-friendly stance, the nation is one exemple of a Green Country. The nation lives in "semi-autarky" due to isolation but the Kingdom is self-sufficient in terms of food, water and electricity (metal is scarce, hence why much of the houses are made of wood. The cars are made of steel imported from others countries or less official "organisations" as a local plant, the hanam, is frequently used as a drug, more often than its medicinal attributes. The Kingdom is ruled by Eliffa De Veidt, a recently crowned queen after the decreasing health condition of her parents. Her current goal is to developpe the Economy of the Kingdom due to the growing demands of a growing population. Hanataya is also known for its tourism industry, with resorts and thalassotherapy centers and its hotsprings.

Nation Description: Eylendia is a kingdom on the continent of Cyrus, which practices the polytheism and druidism. It is run by the King Elyon Elrieth, who is considered to be one of the great monarchs of the thriving Kingdom. Eylendia tends to use diplomacy to solve issues, and has a wide trading sphere with its neighbors, although, the Kingdom is highly militaristic, keeping a larger, well-trained army, and very protective of its designated borders and allies. The kingdom is self sufficient in grain, meat, water, and mining resources, and has a large merchant fleet to trade the excess resources oversees, so the kingdom has built up a sizeable treasury, which is used to hire mercenaries from other Kingdoms.

Can I start somewhere other than Cyrelashia despite the rule saying otherwise.
At the moment we're focusing on getting to the region key aspects up, such as a calendar; Hence why we have the restriction. Long as the species has human-characteristics, hence the term humanoid is legal to the region. Anything like an xenomorph, pop-culture alien, or like ET is not accepted. I should probably update the alien question with a better explanation.

Nekaro is very minuscule nation constituting of less than 8 million, and has little to none to boast as a nation. The Commonwealth is heavily focused on fish agriculture given the nature of its dominant race of Neko(s). The colony is brand new, so it's population is small compared to other Azdov colonies.
The colony's alien technology should make up for the strength it lacks from pure manpower.

Military Power: 14,000 / 20,000 | 34,000 Total

Nation Description: A new colony founded by anthro-like settlers from an alien space empire. Is appalled by humans' appearance but gets along with other mobian species. The colony's strength mostly comes from it's advanced technology. This strength is balanced by their small population and lack of knowledge on the planet.

Sociopolitical Goal: Find a way to make the whole planet eventually join the Azdov Empire of Chesmo, and after that eradicate the human population.

Nation Description: A new colony founded by anthro-like settlers from an alien space empire. Is appalled by humans' appearance but gets along with other mobian species. The colony's strength mostly comes from it's advanced technology. This strength is balanced by their small population and lack of knowledge on the planet.

Sociopolitical Goal: Find a way to make the whole planet eventually join the Azdov Empire of Chesmo, and after that eradicate the human population.
