It kind of is for him. The cold truth is that, because of the concept of executive privilege, Trump, or more accurately the president, is effectively above the law. Only impeachment or an unfitness declaration can remove him, and neither are likely.

Even if it is primarily because of Trumps flailing idiot approach to foreign and military policy, I imagine part of him is glad to get out while his dignity and reputation are still intact.
