Nation description:
So for this Turkic/Kyrgyz based Sinju (on that big island to the west of Jeongmi) nation it would be rather forested and mountainous with mostly coastal and river settlements that popped up due to migration and trade. Rather temperate. Rather comfy.
The Turkic people groups came over as traders and would eventually assimilate the native Tungusic population over 800 years (500 to 1300). The first major unifying Khaganate appeared under the name of "Ran Qaghan" which may be where the name Ransuğaral came from. Alternative sources suggest it was an exonym by Sinju traders who came across the abundance of orchid-like flowers in the palaces of the Kaghans. It isn't clear, but the historical account does suggest that the namesake stems from Ran Qaghan (Lan Kehan, Ran Gahan), the individual who successfully united what would become Ransuğaral, and the Turkic words for water, suu. Eventually, the "pureblood" Turkic inhabitants which made most of the nobility and merchant class quickly Sinicized/Koreanized, adopting customs from Jeongmi (including scripts; Hanja and Hangul that replaced their Uyghur one) and mainland Sinju. However, they also Turkicized much of the sparse native population in the process, especially evident during the early settlement, contact, and eventual conquest of the region. In present day Ransuğaral these indigenous Tungusic peoples have pressured for recognition of their culture, language, and heritage.
Religious practices, however, are slightly different from mainland Sinju although not too dissimilar from northern Sinju (Jeongmi), Yoju (other Turkic and Mongolic nations), and Uju. Animism and shamanism, as well as worship of a henotheistic heavenly order, is characteristic of Ransuğaralese spirituality. The largest "organized" religion being some Dharmic faith although the presence is rather minimal. However, the government is somewhat cold to foreign religious movements, instead promoting the native, personal spirituality. For the most part Ransuğaralese are not very religious, but very receptive of natural spirituality which is reflected among its ardent support of ecological movements and preservation of nature. Ultimately this is a choice made so I can sub in Islamic terms in Kyrgyz/Proto Turkic with Sanskrit/Dharmic ones.
Mixed market economy, not as developed as mainland Sinju. IRL analogue can be Portugal/Cyprus/Poland. Somewhat oligarchic and controlled by political clans/dynasties. Currently would be governed by a nationalist, populist leader and their cadre albeit one that is rather progressive (environmentalist, anti-corporate influence, somewhat against the existing political dynasties) on some aspects and being a bit draconian in others (cultural chauvinism and some weird hodge-podge of mild xenophobic sentiment mixed with pan Turkic irredentism/militarism)
History would probably go:
Breakaway from larger Turkic/Mongolic Khaganate -> sea traders, sea raiders, and settlers on that island -> confederacy of various settler and native groups -> post 1400 unification and start of more rapid Sinicization/falls under Jeongmi's sphere of influence -> 1800s nationalist movements and modernization -> 1900s turmoil and some political upheaval -> 2000s contemporary era, populists begin to dominate in the new 10s
