How many states does your nation have?
Geographically, the Realm of Yohannes is a continent of three main islands and their surrounding small islands. Politically, it consists of nineteen constituent countries, with 340 million people (as of 1 December 2017).
The three kingdoms of Alexandria, Burmecia and Lindblum have more people and area than all the other sixteen countries combined—they are the dominant countries on the continent. In accordance with the Fifth Amendment, Yohannes is an elective monarchy, parliamentary democracy. Territories are not necessarily contiguous (such as the Noble Republic of Treno—red, northeast of the Kingdom of Burmecia—their non-contiguous positions resulted from historical acquisitions, or, in the case of the Grand Duchy of Kradenmark, divisions of the ruling family trees), and some of the smaller constituent countries (such as the Grand Duchy of Donata) continue to have control of their own army, post office, railways, and nominal rights in taxation.
The contemporary version of the Realm of Yohannes (1871-present) is illustrated here: (link to full resolution):
