A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the Assembly in the exercise of the constitutional authority vested in them have resolved, by resolution of the Assembly of Lazarus bearing date this day "That the state of war between Lazarus and the New Pacific Order, which has been thrust upon Lazarus is hereby formally declared";

WHEREAS it is provided by Section one and Subsection five of the
Twelfth Mandate of Lazarus, as follows:
The Assembly may declare war against another region or organization, and repeal a declaration of war, at the request of the Delegate, by two-thirds vote.

The Assembly has invoked Section one, Subsection five of the twelfth Mandate of Lazarus, and as of 12/16/2018 4:16 PM is now at war with the New Pacific Order and all her dependencies.

As a staunch supporter of war with the NPO, and someone who voted for this declaration, I for one applaud this decision by my fellow Lazarenes and am proud to do whatever my region calls upon me to do in this fight. After years of bending over, Lazarus is finally going to stand up for itself, and I am confident this war will not be fought in vain, but shall rather assert and strengthen Lazarene sovereignty and prosperity, both in matters of security and community. Laz has rarely had a military of its own. Mostly its shared WA's with org groups.

On a more serious note, I'm glad to see Lazarus made the decision to stand up for itself, although I would rather have this wouldn't be necessary.

I've got a lot of love for Laz but the last time it had any threatening military mobility was the Emerald Legion about a decade ago (EW can correct me with the more accurate time).

While the Emerald Legion was capable, the LLA did have its moments under the PRL, so you don't need to go that far back. After the NLO coup was defeated, however, it was downhill from there to the point that the LLA under the CU was near useless.

Lazarus will need to establish one, and there is a discussion going on at the moment to decide the shape of it.

That said, my area of cabinet is culture orientated, and it will be up to whatever force is established to carry out what they feel is necessary to conduct the war.

If I would take a guess, then operations against fascist regions and NPO dependencies, would be a good start for getting the military in good practice.

Ultimately Lazarus voted to not trust the New Pacific Order's assurances, and to declare war. Not sure what path Lazarene involvement will take, but whether we wanted this war or not, we have to see it to it's conclusion.

LLA had a lot more cross membership with other regions. But you're correct, it did do quite well for a time.
